The guy never showed up!! I told them I lived an hour away and I sat all day in an empty condo. I kept calling the office and they kept saying oh the contractor will be there by 1:00 PM. Finally they called me AT 1:00 THE VERY END OF MY WINDOW to say the contractor was running two hours late. My job was not considered that important I wasted a whole day. I will never call them for anything again.

I had three light bulbs broken off in light fixtures. I could not remove them. Based on prior experience with Michael and Sons, I called and received an appointment that fit my schedule. Dustin, the company's representative, arrived promptly and upon examing the situation, explained the problem. In one case, I had been using a higher watt than the manufacture recommended and in another, the fixture was broken and needed replacing, and the final one was an outdated model for use in a closet. Dustin very efficiently removed and replaced the broken fixture and made recommendations on how to resolve other issues, (which I will have done at a later date). My 11-year old grandson watched and was very impressed with Dustin's work and professionalism and said "that man did a great job and needs to be promoted." I agree. NOTE: The category of work was Electrical--not plumbling as shown in the work category. I could not change the category.

The gentleman that came to do the estimate was the same one that did the installation. I like that it was the same person for both. I was very happy. It was done on time and it was clean. It was good service and good work.

I purchased a new HVAC system from Michael and Sons in late 2010, early 2011 for approximately $8,000.00, and have had ongoing problems with it ever since. Each year, it has broken down in the winter, and twice it has broken down in the summer. So far, since I purchased it, it has broken down a total of at least five (5) times, and always in extreme temperatures. Although Michael and Son repairs the HVAC, it often takes several days, and several contractors. This is extremely inconvenient, embarrassing, and frustrating, as this is an investment property. It is also horrible for my tenants, as they are primarily the persons who suffer the brunt of these breakdowns, and having strangers (contractors) stomping throughout their home for days on end, while they continue being left in the cold, or the heat, and continue paying rent. My tenants also have had to take time off from our employment to meet the contractors and technicians. Additionally, since I live out of town, when my tenants are not available, I must drive over two hours each way to meet them (a 4-hour round trip drive), wait for them to arrive, and finish the job, AND purchase full tanks of gas, food for myself, and beverages. This year things have changed. My current tenants cannot be available on this basis. This leaves me with three very undesirable solutions: 1) drive round-trip each day (4 hours minimum) until the HVAC is repaired, even in hazardous weather conditions such as snow and storms; or 2) sleep in the car with my dog, in extreme temperatures; or 3) stay in a hotel, pay extremely high prices, pay for gas, food, beverages, pet fees, and parking. This third solution is estimated to cost a minimum of $200.00 per night in my estimation. Thus far, Michael and Sons has not permanently repaired, and refuses to replace, my $8,000.00 defective HVAC product which I honestly and trustfully purchased from them, but has instead replaced with what in my opinion can only be described as one band-aid after another, since it continues to break down annually, and sometimes bi-annually. Also, in accordance with my warranty, which runs out in about 1 ½ years, I am not allowed to have another HVAC company look at, touch, or give me a second opinion as to the cause of the constant breakdowns. This, in my opinion, is like a doctor telling me that I have a disease, but if I seek a second opinion, he will amputate my limbs. Thus, I feel I am a hostage. Trapped. Helpless. Dependent. Unable to seek help from the outside world. Furthermore, I would like to add ? or warn ? that when my warranty runs out in 1 ½ years, and my $8,000.00 HVAC breaks down time and time again, as I expect due to it?s history, I will then be responsible to pay for the following: 1) Service fees for HVAC contractors to come to my property; 2) Diagnostic and inspection costs; 3) Full price for parts, and labor; 4) Again, costs for staying in a hotel, gas, food, beverages, pet fees, and parking costs, plus time away from my other obligations. Finally, I would like anyone who is reading this to know that I am ashamed and frightened. I am ashamed for feeling that I have been taken advantage of. I am ashamed to have been assaulted by one of their employees. And I fear, dreadfully, that since I am not able to purchase another HVAC any time in the near future, that I will lose my home. My home. The one I worked so hard for. The one that my now deceased mother helped me choose. The one she picked. The same one I wanted to leave to my children and grandchildren when that day comes. The one whose rental income I depend on now. Yes. I?m crying. My recommendation is to not deal with Michael and Sons unless you like misery.

Michale & Son did an excellent job! They put down protective runners and wore protective booties to keep from leaving any dirt on the carpet. They were efficient in making sure everything was working before departing. Thank you.

It went outstanding. I'd highly recommend the individuals Glen G. and Louis H. These two guys work well together. Glen has over 25 years of experience, while Louis has around 4-5 years of experience, and they're both very knowledgeable. I even called their boss to commend them on the work they did!

They are great. The price is fair.

Carlo Milla and Jorge Barrientos did an excellent job in completing their electrical inspection. They were punctual, courteous and very professional in their inspection, making minor repairs throughout the house and leaving me with a list of lighting improvements that we may want to consider in the future. I was especially pleased with their innovative and practical ideas on how we can make our home run more efficiently. Thank you for a job well done!

My husband and I were very pleased to have all three technicians (HVAC, plumbing and electrical) scheduled on the same day. This single appointment made good use of our time and provided us the opportunity to ask questions, plan and prioritize maintenance and repairs. We were especially pleased that each technician arrived on time, prepared and ready to answer questions, provide cost estimates and do some of the minor work that was required. We were very impressed that the service team was punctual, courteous, professional and knowledgeable in offering suggestions on how we could make our home run more efficiently - saving us time, effort and money in handling future repairs. Great job!

They came out and checked up on the system. They gave me an estimate for a new one, but it was way too expensive so I'm still looking for someone to come back out. They were here back in November last year. It cost sixty dollars. They were pretty nice, they explained everything to me, I just did not like the high estimate. Their customer service was good. They were very courteous, they took the time to explain things and answer all my questions. I would probably use them in the future, just for the checkup.

The representative was professional. He gave me and estimate and worked with me. They were able to do the job the next day which was good, because I had no air conditioning and it was very hot because my power went out the night before during the storm. Three technicians arrived on time (Glen, Tony and Ben) and got right to work after assessing the work space. They were very professional and pleasant. They laid drop cloths and wore shoe covers to protect my carpet and floors.They explained the job before they started and kept me updated on their progress. They provided instructions for how everything works including my new digital thermostat. They cleaned up after themselves and took all boxesand debris away. I will definitely use them again.

I don't have anything really to say. It was just a name recognition from the television, but it wasn't at all a nice experience as it should have been. The quality is below par.

Provider responded promptly and was able to ascertain and resolve the source of the leak.

They sent over a "consultant" to give us an estimate. The $1200 was just for the work, not the hot water heater (which I had already purchased). $500 base price for the installation (which is on the high end of other businesses), and the consultant then proceeded to find issues with other systems that he said needed to be done to be in code compliance and for safety reasons. All in all, $700 in arbitrary extras. I'm not one to get fleeced, so I just sent him on his way. As it turned out, there was nothing wrong with my original hot water heater. They MISDIAGNOSED it and told me I needed a new one. I lucked out with another repairman (new home, lots of issues) who was there for the AC unit and he helped me fix the water heater at no charge (Air Doctor Heating & Cooling... they're AWESOME!!) Basically, if you don't mind over paying (or getting robbed) for service, go with Michael & Sons.

We have been very pleased with their services. The price was quite reasonable.

Because of miscommunication, compounded by technician apparently not following procedure on getting signature before approving work, and further compounded by questionable work procedure (using a second new pump rather than the one used to clear the standing water) resulted in my being charged for two complete installation jobs. A credit for the second pump was later received, and is reflected in the cost above. Technician falsely stated on diagnostic sheet that there was 2 feet of water in basement rather than actual 6-7 inches (photos and material with high water marks reflect this. Other falsehoods also evidenced. Subsequent attempts to work with customer relations were totally unsuccessful and made this my worst commercial transaction in 40 years---when I had to file a complaint against Bank of America with the Comptroller of the Currency. I have no faith in the integrity or honor of this company's plumbing technicians or corporate staff. I liked my experience with an electrician from the company during follow-up work 2 days later. Update 25 Jan 2015: Yesterday, my general contractor for some home renovations and myself discovered that the sump pump that Michael & Son had replaced in May 2014 was not functioning and the water level was close to overflowing. My general contractor arranged for another plumber to look at the situation today. What he found was that the screw for the reservoir that contains the lubricant for the pump was missing (causing the pump to seize), and the pump was no longer connected to the drain pipe (improperly connected in the first place). For work this sloppy to cost as much as it did is not acceptable. I did not call Michael and Son to deal with the failure under warranty because I have no faith that they can provide quality service or that they might not try to place the blame for failure on me. Better to be out a few hundred dollars more than to have a firm that I believe to be incompetent work on my house. I am proud to have been placed on their "Do Not Service" list.

They arrived within the service window and called ahead to let me know they were close by. Trying to track down a random smell was difficult (particularly since the gas company previously did not find the leak when they looked just at the kitchen and not the basement) and they looked at all possible sources (we have an older home so there were a lot of them). Gregory and Shaw were very good about explaining everything throughout the process and were very professional and friendly. They also identified other possible issues with our plumbing, which was very helpful.
