i called the provider at 0800 on saturday and the technician was here by 1000. not bad at all on a saturday. the technician/plumber daniel nicholson was very fast, efficient and polite and got the job done. he put on booties to ensure he not get the house dirty. it was pricey tough. i paid $90 for the emergency weekend fee but then the job itself was about $320 (total $414) even though it took him only 45 minutes but then plumbers are never cheap. also lexa at the help desk was also very helpful and got daniel sent out quick.

We had some electrical work that we wanted done on fairly short notice and Michael and Sons could accommodate our schedule. The electrician did a good job -- he worked quickly and efficiently, and diagnosed a problem very effectively. That said, I'm not a huge fan of their pricing structure. You have to pay a nominal fee to have the technician come to your house (which I don't mind), but they won't tell you how much the work will cost until he's there. Every item has a set price assigned, but the scheduling folks claim to not have access to that information. Also, there's no wiggle room when you're asking for something that doesn't exactly fit into the items already priced out. For example, we needed an oven range hood installed, but got charged the same for that as it would cost to install an over-the-range microwave, which doesn't seem quite right. The electrician also spent a good deal of time trying to upsell me to the company's service plan, which is a couple hundred dollars a year, but gets you a discount on work you have performed during that year. Since we were putting our house on the market the plan didn't make sense for us, and I don't blame him for trying to sell it. I prefer the other electrician we have used in the past, who charges a rate based on time, but would use Michael & Sons again if I found myself in a similar scheduling situation has I did this time around.

Excellent - the master plumber Daniel Day was a thorough professional that knows his trade for this repair and installation work. I would use Daniel again for future plumbing work and recommend him to be used by other homeowners needing plumbing work that meets all quality requirements.

Their work was fair, but their prices were superior in the upward direction.

As I said Oscar came out and service the A/C unit. He was very accommodating to getting the work done that was needed to be done. He educated me about his job and the A/C units, filters and how to keep up with the care for them. I was shown the air ducts and where they were leaking and how to fix them. He was so educational to the point that I can now take care of my home the right way! And not only was he helpful but he explained and showed everything to me in terms I could understand. He's going to come back and finish some more work.

I fairly recently bought a home and wanted a thorough review of the home systems. I had to have three different people come, each to inspect the system that was their expertise. The technicians who came was fantastic - Brenton Mullins, Antonio Diaz and Anh Phan were all extremely helpful, courteous and professional. These were great guys who I would easily recommend. While the schedule times can be annoying (four hour windows) and sometimes that window is missed, the techs made up for it. I give each of them an A+

Excellent! Mr. Adbul Haji was beyond professional. He was very careful in not causing any damage to my home while the repairs were done. He worked tirelessly until all the issues were resolved. I could not be happier with the service i received.

Salesperson came promptly, listened to my needs, and gave me an estimate which I accepted. He was very professional and not at all high pressure. The installer came on the day promised, but a couple of hours late since he had to pick up the hot water heater and some additional parts first. The job was finished in less than four hours. Looks very good and hot water is working now. My only complaint is they scratched up my new tile floor, which I am not happy about.

It was basically as expected from any contractor really. They were VERY professional-epecially working with Abdullah there. NIce guy. Anyhow...prices aren't great and they don't really come off as being that knowledgeable (the people actually on the job which actually changed throughout-not a fan of that at all). Management was good and knew alot but it stopped there.

It took me a year to cool down enough to write this review (both figuratively and literally). This is the story of how I spent most of the summer of 2013 without AC. I came home in June to find my AC unit no longer working. I had someone from Michael & Son?s out there quickly to take a look. It turns out a motor in my HVAC unit had burnt out. I was expecting this as the unit was old. Faced with the option of replacing the motor in an old unit or just getting a whole new unit, I decided it would be wise to just replace the whole thing. This was my first mistake. They ordered the new HVAC unit and scheduled my install for 2 weeks from now. I bought some fans and endured ACless summer for those couple weeks. The day of the install finally came and I was very excited to have AC. I took the day off work to facilitate the install. An hour after getting there the men informed me that they had ordered the wrong unit. I was irate. I spent the next few days in phone call h*** with the company trying to get this straight. At the end they promised me to A) replace the broken motor as a temporary fix and B) knock off $500 bucks from the bill. I accepted the deal. Two weeks later I had a cobbled together and working AC for a bit. At this point I was told that I would receive a check for my $500 discount. One year later and I have never seen that money. A few weeks later the correct unit finally came in and they installed it without me there. They failed to come on several booked times and blamed it on me (the installers admitted when they came that it was their fault). I live in a condo and we have a common drain pipe for all HVAC units in a tier (units above and below mine). A few weeks later I got a call from my condo complex about a leak. Apparently they half assed the install and just drilled into the drain line, shoved the HVAC units condensate line into it, and did a crappy putty job causing it to leak. This was very much not to code. They had to come back with my building maintenance people and fix their mistake. This was the worst experience with a contractor in my life. I can?t flame these people enough for what they put me through. And yes I still have not received the promised $500 check. I would contact them about it, but I feel a vomit coming on every time I talk to them. Every time I hear their jingle on TV I spout expletives at the TV like a man with turrets.

I had to call the company back later in the same day because my master toilet was making a phantom flushing sound. A different technician came out and said the toilet needed a different part because it was a Kohler and needed a Kohler part. He proceeded to fix it. I believe that I needed to call again for the same reason. Just recently it started the flushing sound again. I am in the process of redoing my bath so I ordered a new toilet. My contractor told me that I just needed a new flapper. He told me that I had been ripped off by Michael and Son because they charged me $714.15 for the 3 toilets. I will never use Michael and Son again and do not recommend them for anyone else.

Not we'll. The workers used two containers of of caulking. I asked them about regrouting the area around the tub and tile around the toilet area and they reluctantly did it telling me that it was grout and not caulking. I was very dissatisfied because I could have saved about 150.00 by doing what they did myself.

Very well, although they encountered significant rock. They invoked a "rock clause" to cover the extra expense but I had expected that knowing our terrain. They worked until 9PM on two evenings to finish up the water on one and electric the other.

I called for a service evaluation and they dispatched a service person within the hour. The Service representative arrived 10 minutes early. He asked multiple questions about our requirement and current system performance. He evaluated the current system and made recommendations to improve heat/AC flow. He provided cost estimates on 4 different systems and explained the attributes of each.

We have been Michael & Sons customers for years, and have been generally pleased. While their customer service has always lacked, we?ve put up with this because of their good technicians who are always professional. But the bad customer service just exhibited has now outweighed the positive, and we?re flabbergasted by the lack of response. We scheduled an appointment to have a kitchen appliance checked. Couldn?t get an appointment until 5 days later, but we locked it in. Were given an 8:00-10:00 am window, but also told we?d be the first appointment of the day. I completely adjusted my work day to be at home for this appointment? both I and my husband run our own businesses, so are rarely home during the day. The morning of the appt, and literally 8 minutes before the scheduled time (at 7:52 am) I get a voice mail (on my cell phone # for some reason, even though that wasn?t the # I?d provided for contact purposes) from Francisco that the technician could not come out. That?s it - the appt isn?t happening. We were offered no apologies, no effort to send an alternate technician during that same confirmed window. When I called back just a few minutes later, he said we could schedule for another day. Again, no apologies, and very cavalier and rude when I asked why another technician wasn?t dispatched for the same time. This is a very large company?surely there were others available? I contacted the company via their online feedback system to express my frustration and have received no response or acknowledgement whatsoever. This demonstrated lack of care for the customer has convinced me that I need to take our family?s electrical and plumbing business elsewhere. Truly appalling.

They came and put pressure on me to sign a contract. It completely turned me off. I did used them but I would not use them again because I hate that kind of pressure.

I thought it was a little pricey, but they did a good job.

Their Angie's List webpage states under the Free Estimates - "ask for details" which implies that they offer free estimates. So I was shocked to hear they charge $29. I contacted this company via Angie's list, and they called me back the next day in the afternoon. The staffer who called me was a fast talker and a mumbler, therefore hard to understand. She asked if I was currently a Michael and Sons customer and I replied "Not yet." She asked if I still wanted to schedule an estimate to perform some minor trim and siding work including painting. I gave her my location details, and she proceeded to the scheduling portion and just slipped it in that their "estimate would require a $29 fee which would be taken off any final bill." I replied, I will not be a customer then and closed out the conversation. Perhaps they offer free estimates for bigger jobs, but their policy should be clearly stated on their website. We use Angie's List for a reason, and that is to screen providers and obtain quotes in order to determine who will earn our business. Requiring payment for an estimate or quote does not constitute good business to me, and this company will not be considered for any of my future small or large scale home projects. . . Note: I've been reading the less than glowing reviews about this company on Angie's List. As I have replaced a couple of toilets, plumbing fixtures, light fixtures, and redone some wiring in my house, I am shocked at some of the prices they are charging people to perform these jobs. I'm glad that I didn't even let them come to my house.

Our AC went out on one of the hottest days of the summer. We called Michael & Son to have it repaired. They installed the unit two years ago. Because we have members of the family with health concerns, Edwin came on the same day we called. He was friendly and courteous when he came to our home. He evaluated the problem with our AC unit that was still under warranty, so the parts and repairs were covered. He did not have the part with him but was able to get it the next day and fixed the unit as soon as he was able. We have used Michael & Son in the past and have always been pleased with their service.

Mr. Gustavo Marcia of michael and sons is awesome electrician. He is very knowledgable, courteous and and was respectful of my home. He addressed several issues and was very professional. I felt very comfortable with the quality of his work.

My tenant informed me that the contractor did an excellent job re-caulking all the areas in the shower and tub. They removed the old joint line caulking and replaced it. They were on time and did an excellent job.

My house was struck by lightening on Monday afternoon. I was told by my electric service provider that we needed to have a licensed electrical contractor inspect our home before the power could be turned back on. I called Michael and Sons and they stated they would be out on Tuesday between 2-6 pm. I took off work, went home and waited in 91 degree heat. I called to confirm the appointment at 4pm. The lady told me that she just confirmed with the technician, that he was en route and would call soon. At 5 pm, I receive a call from dispatch stating that the technician was running late but he would keep in contact with me. At 6:45 pm, I called the main number to check status (no one kept in contact with me) and the lady told me that the technician was en route (again) but he was stuck in traffic and it may take 2 more hours. When I expressed my frustration with the lady, she said "I'm sorry, do you want me to cancel the appointment? ". I obviously cancelled the appointment and that was it. Now my wife and my 3 daughters are in a hotel room again because of this incompetent company. NEVER AGAIN!

We'll never hire them again. They were ridiculously overpriced. When we get a faucet replaced, we expect it to last a couple of years but we had to replace the faucet that they put in a-year-and-a-half later. They were charging $800 to put a faucet in and they charged us $300 to put a new wax seal in the toilet and it only took the guy 20 minutes. On the plus side, they showed up on time and the people didn't track mud into my house. They cleaned up after themselves and they were polite. The last time I made a complaint about them, someone from the office called me up and they were very upset with me for giving the responses that I gave on Angie's List. They called me up and I told them everything about the faucet. They said that I don't understand and that they also have a year's warranty on their services. The guy was completely defensive. They called and tried to get me to change my mind but there was nothing about what he said that would change my mind.

When I contacted the company they are not able to get me in for awhile. I need the work right away and they didn't seem to want to work with me and try to help.
