Really great service and knowledgable, skilled professionals. However, I thought the price was ridiculously high. I would use them again for complicated stuff because they did the job so well, but would avoid using them for smaller items.

The service providers arrived timely. There were two servicemen which was good because they needed to to remove an older appliance (gas dryer) which was in the basement and take the new one to the same site and install it. As I had suspected and had discussed with the representative by phone, the old dryer was too large to get up the stairs. (No idea how it got down there.) The men who came to do the installation disassembled it without complaint and hauled it out. To get the new (narrower) one down the stairs, they had to take a door off the hinge - which they also did efficiently and without complaint. They returned the door to service once finished. Turns out the gas shut off valve was so old it was no longer code compliant. They installed a new one. I was charged for this unplanned service but the charge seemed reasonable. To add one more complication, the electrical cord on the new dryer would not reach the outlet! They offered to move the outlet but it would have required a visit on another day since they had not budgeted time for this work. This project turned out to be more complicated than any of us had anticipated. The service reps were professional, courteous and did good work. I was favorably impressed. Based on this experience, I would use their services again and would recommend them as a service provider.

I was very impressed with Brent Mullins' knowledge, expertise and prompt service in resolving the electrical problem. He was very patient and courteous in answering my questions. I thank Michael and Son Services for sending this excellent and outstanding Senior Electrician to my home.

My first experience was not good. I don't know if it was me or the technician, but we did not agree on much. I was not happy and he left with nothing done except to charge me 29.00. The next day Horace called me and asked me about what happened. He was very interested in making it right. He came out to my house with a technician and completed the job in less than 1/2 an hour. They were very professional. I was satisfied with the work . So it started out not too good, but Horace more than made up for the misunderstanding from the day before. Thanks.

We had a leak in the middle of the night, and although many companies advertise 24 hour service, Michael and Son was the only one to deliver last night. But we paid a hefty price. We have the plastic poly piping that is known for leaks, and we've had our fair share. Normally when there's a leak, the plumber comes, opens the ceiling and fixes the leak for a total of about $160. Michael and Son charged $150 just to open the ceiling, then $375 for the repair. They charged an additional $89 to come out, which I'm not complaining about since it was 3 in the morning. It was about $375 to replace the main valve.

I called because I had a toilet that did not work well. Plumber came out promptly and advised that he could rebuild the toilet for $300 or so or get a new toilet. I had wanted a toilet that was ADA height so said, let's get a new one. I also wanted a skirted toilet. Plumber tried to sell me a toilet on his truck that met neither of my requirements. We sat down and looked on line and with his input we narrowed down possible toilets to 3. He said someone would call to give me a price for purchase and installation package. I waited almost a month, calling three times to get a price to no avail. I bought one of the toilets online. I called to schedule installation, and requested they send me another plumber who would not pressure me to buy something else. On installation day, the same plumber arrived. Looked at the box and said. "That is a terrible toilet and u won't be happy with it." But it was one of the three he had helped select! Took out the old toilet and loaded it on his truck. Came in and told me that the gasket was broken and that the pipe would have to be rerouted and that it would take 3-4 hours. The price he quoted me was astronomical. He complained so much I asked that he stop and reinstall the old toilet. He said he could not do that. I asked that he leave. I was going on a trip the next day and was left with no toilet in a bathroom used by 4 people. I called to complain. This was done correctly: they sent a plumber in a couple of days to install a " loaner" toilet till I could decide what to do. In the interim, I fell and hurt my shoulder and without details, this brought another plumber into my life. Hr saw the toilet sitting in my living room and asked if I wanted installed. I advised about the issues. He looked at the situation and said there were no issues: no broken gasket, no re routing if pipe. Toilet was installed in under two hours. The Michael and Sons plumber had also told me that the pull up plug on my lav could not be fixed and that the whole handset had to be replaced. This too was fixed by the second plumber in under ten minutes. I have used Michael and Sons in the past and given them A + ratings. This experience has shattered my confidence in them. Perhaps other things that I replaced at great expense only needed a quick fix. They came to pick up the loaner toilet, although I had to wait three hours beyond my service window. To date no one has addressed the erroneous advice I was given. Too bad - customer service is something that must be continuous. It can't be one and done. Guess this company has decided to put their money into pricey ads rather than in service.

He did a great job, nice man. In fact, he gave my granddaughter a coloring book that had something to do with Michael & Son. He's a very nice guy. It was good. He came and found what the problem was and got it fixed and we got hot water. He was just very professional and nice person.

My generator battery was dead and my control board panel was not working. The control board was in warranty so tehy ordered it and then installed in my generator.The battery was too expensive, I think.

Our electrician, Brian, called to confirm the appointment, arrived on time, and then was neat and efficient. A great job. I called him back later for some smaller jobs.

He was very professional , courteous thorough. It was a difficult removal but Sean (or Shaun?) worked hard and succeeded in a relatively short time. He suggested options for replacement and we chose one, which he installed. We like it better than the original and are very happy with his work.

Never had the service done because they could not come to the house the first day that was scheduled and could not come second day either. Both times I was notified after spending all day home waiting for them.

The plumber showed up to repair the pipe. I overheard him call the office, or someone, and say that "This is an insurance job." The price went up from $800 to $1668.59. The plumber was advised that the pipe could not be left nude, or exposed, after he finished the work. His reply was that he didn't have the pipe covering on his truck. The pipes refroze the same night. I left a check for the exact amount to cover the invoice, assuming that the company would return to finish the job and re-do it. He did not, so I complained and an appointment was made to finish the work. No one showed up. The tenant had to take his family to a hotel because Michael and Son did not complete the job. The house was not inhabitable for him and three little children. Numerous calls were made to Michael and Son to appraise him of the urgency of the situation. Michael and Son broke one of the appointments (around the 19th.) For a whole week, we waited for them to fix the problem, to no avail. Finally, in desperation, and under extreme pressure from the tenant (with three little children holed up in a hotel), I found another contractor to come out on the 28th of February. Michael and Son called to tell me that they were sending someone to out to fix the problem, after I'd already made arrangements to fix the problem and the second contractor was already on the job. The price of re-doing all of Michael and Son's work was $400 with the new contractor. Compare that to $1668.59. I paid $800 total for that and to cover the pipes with pipe wrap, and fill in the ceiling with fiberglass insulation and repair the ceiling drywall. On the following day, a seeping leak going into the powder room (part of the work Michael and Son did) showed up, since the pipe wasn't soldered properly. We had to replace that coupling properly, in a workmanlike way. On March 10, in the evening, a group of Michael and Son's people called, threatening me with a lien to my tenant. Finally, 92 years old and exhausted, I offered to get it off my back and to settle for $1000. They sent someone to get a check. After checking and reviewing all the facts, I called Mr. Malcolm at Michael and Son to ask that they didn't cash the check until the findings and facts were reviewed. Not Mr. Malcolm, nor anyone from that company, have returned my call yet. Is this the way you do business? From February 17-28, for 11 days, you stonewalled me and caused great hardship to me and my tenant family. You did not have the courtesy to answer my call on the 1st of March. I believe that you should return the $1000 and apologize for such shoddy treatment to a senior citizen. Before I seek further remedies, I should like to hear from you. (I have sent them a copy of the above as a letter, and they have not returned my calls since then.)

They were very nice and I was very pleased with the work.

Brent Mullins, Master Electrician, came to my home 3 days ago to installed ceiling lights in my laundry room. He also noticed that one of my outlets in my garage that needed a surge protector didn't have one. He installed that as well. I found Brent to be very capable, professional and a truly nice guy. I have used Michael & Son for various problems in my home but the next time I need an electrician, I am going to request Brent. I would highly recommend him and give him an A+ in all categories. In addition, for the services rendered, I felt that the charges were extremely reasonable especially in light of the time he spent at my home. Thank you for your attention to this matter and I hope this is helpful to anyone who needs electrical work performed in their home or office.

The tech showed on time, knew what he was doing, and was a PRO the entire time.

Noone told me there would be a charge for coming out to just look at the problem. Since I had called about electrical and handyman repairs I thought he would be able to at least estimate the handyman repairs which he did not. I was told the repair person would come out with a truck full of supplies so that chances were he could do the repair at the same visit. Although he recommended the kitchen fixtures be replaced he said they tested OK and just needed light bulbs which he did not have. The prices were astronomical. Later I called a different repair company who came out the same day and gave me a free estimate and sent a licensed electrician and handyman the next day who performed all the work at that time and charged me around $1000 less for all the work (both electrical & handyman).

They do great work but I do find their pricing high.

The price they charged was unbelievable, like $400. If I had known what the typical price for unclogging a drain was then I would have chosen someone more reasonable. On top of that, they only did a brief temporary fix while the next company I called a month or so later was actually able to properly unclog the drain and it hasn't clogged again since. I absolutely would never use their services again.

It didn't go well. I called them because their name was on the decal on our water heater from previous owner. The tech came out and said he could get the unit to turn on but it wouldn't stay on. Then he recommended I look into buying a new one. I asked how much to fix it. He didn't know what the problem was from the first one and said it would be $450/hr for labor to repair. He quoted me a price on a new one and it was $1800 for a new one. I told him it seemed like a lot. I told him I could go to home depot and get one for $500 and he told me that it would come with a 10 yr warranty. He emailed me copy of the estimate. I looked at it and it had all these other things added on. I asked him to tell me how much it would be just for the heater and not all the other add-ons and told him I have to think about it. Then he also told me I had something wrong with my chimney. I thought about the price and getting a new water heater then I looked at the decal on the water heater from previous owner and it was only 8 or 9 years old. I told him this one might not be 10 yrs old. When I asked the owner about whether original water heater would still be covered under 10 yr warranty and he told me they wouldn't have any way of knowing because they didn't have computer system that went back that far. I called a friend and did some research and did some youtubing and was gonna do it myself. A plumber that works for a friend came over and fixed it for about $150.

The plumber was friendly and professional. My issue was the insane pricing. They wanted 275 to unclog a drain. 175 to clean out a clogged air gap on our dishwasher. 802 to replace a toilet. Total: 1257. I asked how long the work would take and the guy said $2-3 hours for everything. I did some quick math. The only parts were the air gap which retails for less than $20 and the toilet, which retails for $250. So the labor was 982 or 327-491/ hour. I was tempted to call and complain because the pricing was outrageous. I called another reputable plumber and they came in about half the price.

I'm pretty high on them. I think they've always done very professional and very good work. They're top of the line. I've been very happy with them.

The gentleman called to tell me he was on his way, and arrived promptly, on the early side of the time window I was given. He was very courteous, covering his shoes and using outside entrances wherever possible. He found that the storm drain was indeed working, and didn't try to sell or push anything else. He used other water sources to attempt to press the system into failure to make sure that the initial diagnosis was correct. He also checked in the ceiling and under the fish tank to assure that these weren't a problem either. He cleaned up after himself, and left everything as it was before.

Michael and Sons did good work at a fair price. The pipe for our back yard valve burst on a Saturday night. My wife heard it and we shutoff the water before too much got in the house, fortunately. Unfortunately, we had a really hard time finding a plumber who could come out, because apparently a lot of people had burst pipes because of the cold snap. Michael and Sons sent out "James" on Monday morning. He arrived when he was supposed to. He advised us, after cutting holes in our drywall, that he couldn't get to the damaged section of pipe because of the way it was set inside the wall behind the wood, so he recommended we cap the line further inside the house, which we did. This solved the leak problem so we could turn the water back on. He returned a week or two later to replace our two water main shutoff valves (one on each side of the water meter) that weren't sealing 100% because they were old. We don't have a water valve for the outside hose by the basement door anymore, but we didn't use it much anyway. He seemed honest, did good work, the price seemed fair -- he gave us a good deal for capping the pipe. (Plumbing work is never cheap.) I would use Michael and Sons again.
