Description of Work: I had a toilet that overflowed and ruined my ceiling and table below it. They redid the toilet and check the seals so that it would not overflow again.

Description of Work: My emergency was clearly not an emergency with Michael and Sons. My request for an emergency plumber was reduced to a regular service--with a four hour window--call by the end of their work day. It became apparent to me during the third hour of my four hour service window, that they were just to busy to serice my emergency plumbing issue. Needless, to say I called antoher plumber and the job was marked URGENT and the other companies plumber was at my home within the hour. Thank you for reminding me that there are other companies out here with qualified master plumbers.

Description of Work: I just called Michael & Sons to ask for an estimate on replacing my central AC in a single family rental property I own. After giving them all of my information, they asked if my husband would be present when the technician came to do the estimate. As a woman who owns multiple properties, I find this question so insulting. The implication that I don' t have the authority to make a decision or purchase on my own (or worse yet, that I could somehow be taken advantage of without a man there...) is insulting and so inappropriate for this day and age. Michael & Sons should be ashamed.

Description of Work: Service was great. The problem was I didnt use the 3 coupons I bought on Angie's List because I bought the service plan from Michael's & Son's which cost $980.00

Description of Work: The technician inspected my a/c unit and performed a diagnostic which showed what the unit needs as well as problems I may encounter in the future. The tech even showed me other areas of concern that could be dangerous if other variable happen to get in the mix of things. He was professional and spoke in layman terms when I couldn't follow what he was saying.

Description of Work: Had a leaking toilet tank. Bought coupon for a toilet replacement and contacted Michael and Sons. Had to pay extra for emergency service on Friday pm. When repairman called, he didn't have the toilet and had to come by on Saturday morning. When he arrived he laid out my options and we decided that the better solution would be to replace the tank. We also discovered that the valve needed to be replace in addition to the main valve needing to be replaced. We agreed that he would return on Sunday to complete all three repairs. Hopefully there will not be additional delays.

Description of Work: they came over to try and provide dianostic services for a Furnance couldn't tell me what the prioblem was and then told me that the fan blower was not working which was untrue from another HVAC provider. Could not give me a quote and couldn't tell me hat was wrong with unit. Commission based NEVER, NEVER, NEVER USE THESE PEOPLE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Description of Work: As luck would have it on Friday evening my garbage disposal started spewing water when engaged. I knew it would be hard to find a plumber who would work on Saturday, and was happy to find that Michael & Son would send a plumber as soon as he was available. I didn't know that this meant Saturday evening. I waited at home all of Saturday, calling several times to make sure someone was really coming. I was assured one would "as soon as he was free." Around 6 PM a very pleasant gentleman did come. He told me I needed a new disposal, which I was sure was correct. He then quoted an installation price of $583.29. I said that was way too much. The disposal itself could be bought for about $100 at area stores. (If I had purchased the disposal myself, and had it there, he would only have charged me $297. ) I thanked him for coming and asked how much I owed him for the visit. He said, "$29," which I paid. I then contacted Sears. They sold me a disposal, installed and took away the old one, saying that it would be recycled--all for $250. This is less than half of the Michael & Son price. I had hired Michael & Son in the past and they seemed to do good work at a reasonable price, but now they seem to have lost contact with reality.

Description of Work: Called on Monday, made an appt for Wednesday. Cesar showed up early, got on the issue and wrapped it up in an hr and a half. Cant ask for anything more than that. Had a quote to get it done slightly cheaper but Im glad I went with M & Son given their promptness and professionalism. Thanks Cesar! A+

Description of Work: I sent 2 emails requesting a price to repaint the whole house interior. Never received any contact. Forget it, Michael & Son, you did a fine job on that plumbing job (even if you did not repair the damage it caused until I complained), but have fallen thru on this one.

Description of Work: I called Michael & Son to schedule the tune-up but they said that a tune-up will not fix the problem and they need to perform a diagnosis. They suggested I contact Angie's List to get a refund for the tune-up.

Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal for re-caulking of a bathroom for a leak repair. Everything was fine.

Description of Work: My Electrician was Joey. He arrived in the time frame set up. Called me 30 mins before he would arrive. Which gave me the opportunity to not to have to stay home waiting. I was able to run errands and such during the window of time set up by the company. I had four projects that needed electrical work. A dead outlet, new smoke detector carbon monoxide combo instillation, kitchen light fixture and dining room light fixture. He was very patient with my indecision on length of dining room light. He was open to showing me several different length options. My tenant had messed with the kitchen ceiling light and so it made it a difficult correction. The prices were a little high but that is set by the company not the Electrician. Oh and when I told him I was a member of Angie's List he gave me 10% off.

Description of Work: This is the last time I will ever get any work done by this company. They came to my house the last week in Jan to repair by heat and AC unit and charged me over 400.00 for the repair. Less than two weeks later i had the same problem. The tech Sean Eversburg came back and charge me another $ 600.00 for the same problem. He tells me it was different but I know he was lying to my face. Over the past two years I have spent about $8500 with this company I'm a business owner and I know when some cheats me. All my friends and assoc will hear about this company Never use them please they will take you for a ride and over charge you every time

Description of Work: Michael and Sons were responsive to my request for installing a generator; however, I had to cancel the request, because it was going to cost me an additional $5K to $10K by Washington Gas, to change my gas line. Michael and Sons were very understanding about my cancellation and immediately reimbursed me for the check I'd provided to secure the installation of a generator. They indicated that they understood, as I was not the first customer that cancelled my request due to the price Washington Gas was charging to install a new gas line. I would highly recommend this company.
