Description of Work: Installed 2 ceiling fans, but they had to undue the mess we made when we attempted to do it ourselves.

Description of Work: AC wasn't working they found the problem and fix it. The tech was very good and honest. He could have raked us over the coals but he didn't. That means a lot to us older people.

Description of Work: Our first appt. got cancelled bec. the guy they sent couldn't do the backflow connection check we needed. The 2nd guy was on time and seemed efficient; however, I was told M&Sons would send the report to WSSC within 2 days, and it took 25 days. (WSSC did not know they had received the report until 6 weeks later!)

Description of Work: Poor grout replacement with caulking. Mold has taken over because if the inadequate preparation. The caulking is peeling away.

Description of Work: Today I received a check for $130 from Michael and Son. I was contacted by them after my review was posted. After several difficult conversations and texts, Michael and Son decided to make the situation better (not right-I was still overcharged) but when I asked them to pay for my new toilet, they agreed and followed through. Would I call them again? I doubt it because I don't trust that I'll be treated fairly but they did try to satisfy me. I wish it hadn't taken an angry review.

Description of Work: The customer interface and scheduling system they have in this company is phenomenal, and they have a very good training system for their employees. The work they performed for us semi-emergency was done well, and we have had no follow up issues. My only beef was the price. As a property manager, the price for the service call was easily 3x what I've paid to hav ethe same work completed. The technician wasn't an all-start either, so I know that's not where all the money was going. If you are a honewowner and quality and drop of a hat responsiveness and professionalism on the phone are your trigger points, you will love this company. But if you are willing to wait, and don't need all the bells and whistles, you will do much better on price with smaller companies or independents.

Description of Work: Removed old attic fan that had been making noise & installed a new attic fan. New fan has new feature of humidistat as well as thermostat. Technician was prompt, courteous and |knowledgeable in his evaluation of the situation. Fan was pricey, but considering that I called Michael & Son on Friday technician came out on Sunday morning to check out our problem. Also, fan has a lifetime warranty for the fan & limited warranty on labor. Very happy with Michael & Son.

Description of Work: Brent from Michael and Son did an excellent job replacing outlets in my house. He also assisted in finding why my lights dimmed in my house. I would recommend him to anyone for any electrical problem.. He was outstanding.

Description of Work: Provided an ridiculous estimate $for replacing a dryer plug. When I said never mind, he tried to sell me an HVAC maintenance contract. Hired my son for the cost of dinner.

Description of Work: I used Michael and Son for plumbing and electrical related to installation of a refrigerator water line and adding a built-in microwave. All the employees were very professional. I was given a clear and easy to understand estimate before they did any work and they even emailed me a copy of the final documents. They called before arriving so I was prepared for them. Once they arrived they put on booties so not to track dirt around my home and they cleaned up after themselves. |I would definitely recommend them.

Description of Work: I wanted a shower stall installed and surround. The Project Manager was non-existent after the first meeting. So no services were scheduled properly and on time. Even the trades guys thought it was strange and unorganized. It was near impossible to get a hold of the PM and he incorrectly wrote out the direction for the job and just left me and the trades guy to figure it out. Don't use them for a redo. I have used them for well over 8 years for various projects. In the last 2 years they have been unresponsive and the work has been so-so. Don't waste your money b/c they are one of the most expensive in the region. I won't be using them in the future.

Description of Work: The inspector they sent for our A/C system missed seeing that the safety shutoff switch for the condensation pump wasn't working. He also recommended annual cleaning of air ducts. An electrician they sent mis-wired an outlet and stated that our circuit breaker panel should be replaced. We discovered the issues with the shutoff switch and mis-wired outlet only because we had a very good home inspector in the house for another reason and he spotted them. He also disagreed about replacing the panel. Michael and Son sent out a manager and senior electrician. They found the trouble with the outlet (but only because we didn't accept their first two or three assertions that it was fine). They checked the rest of the work the first person had done and acknowledged that the circuit breaker panel was not in need of replacing. We had heard that they were a firm that did good work but might be a bit pricey. Our experience is that their prices were not out of the norm, but the work was spotty and we got wrongly "upsold" by each of the two service people who came to our house. We will be giving them another chance this fall and hopefully there will not be a "third strike" in terms of service.

Description of Work: I had a new HVAC system installed last year and this was the annual inspection appointment. The technician made sure to wear covers over his shoes, inspected every aspect of the air handler and pointed out things that could be done to better move the air through my house, making it cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. He showed me how to clean traps so that there would be no problems in the future. He arrived within the promised window of time and did not leave until all my questions were answered.

Description of Work: Michael and Sons provided electrical repair services for us. They were very professional, punctual and extremely knowledgeable and willing to take the time to explain the necessary work to customers. I was extremely pleased with them.

Description of Work: They are very expensive. They are clearly motivated to sell you items you don't need.
