Very well. The workers were professional, very neat, and worked fast.

We had re-done our entire basement and we had Michael and Sons come in and re-wire our entire basement for us. They are very efficient, knowledgeable, polite people and I have used them many times in the past. I have recommended them to others, and I will continue to do so in the future.

We had used their services before. They offer 24/7 emergency service. Our A/C went out on a Saturday morning and I called another company and they could not get out for two days. I called Micheal and Sons and they were out by noon. I was impressed with the technician, who said he had been with the company for ten years. He was very knowledgeable and did a temporary fix for our A/C unit and told us it would only last about two weeks. I started solicitation bids for HVAC installers. Micheal and Sons gave us a good primer on HVAC systems and on what we would probably want. They had the best company installation warranty of five years. We went with an Amana system. They scheduled very quickly. Someone was out to do the work within five days of us accepting the bid during a major heat wave. They are very responsive and we have had great experiences with them.

I may try them again, but if they continue with unjustified higher estimates - I won't even bother.

They incurred over several thousand dollars in fines on an $8K job. Took 6 months to complete a 2-3 week job. Permits they pulled were incomplete, interior work was by far not even close to an "in-kind" replacement. Only after I called the DC inspectors office did things change. It took 6 months, two stop work orders lobbed by inspectors, digging the basement up 2x, digging up the front yard 3x, basement flooding numerous times, no safety measures were utilized to shore up a 12' trench. Why this operation still has an active DC plumbers license is beyond comprehension.

Excellent. The response was quick and the service very professional. They came the same day that I called giving me a two hour window. The technician called before his actual arrival. When I called requesting their services, they informed me of the discount coupon they have in the phone book - something they did not have to do. Overall very impressed!

Our entire basement flooded when our sump pump failed. Sami from Michael and Sons was out within 4 hours after we made the first desperate call. He replaced the sump pump motor then came back the next day to make sure it was working OK. He was very professional and very responsive.

Overall, it went well. The gentleman came out for an estimate first. After the installation, when I spoke with the technicians, I discovered some things the salesman told me were inaccurate. While I don't think it would have altered my decision, there's always a possibility. I was given a two-hour window (8-10) and they showed at 0955. Unfortunately, they were not prepared and had to go to Home Depot for some things, so they didn't get started until about 1130. They got the system installed and everything cleaned up by 4:45 PM. So far, everything works well.

Plumber arrived shortly after 3:00 pm (within time window) and left shortly before 4:00 pm. The repair was really without incident. However, plumber asked me in a somewhat accusatory way what I had done to cause problem and asked (for some reason) if I had a building maintenance man and if I had called him first. This left me wishing I had called the usual condominium plumber first. Plumber also recommended a drain cleaner which I accepted. It was rather expensive ($61 charged by company) and I really had regrets about signing agreement to buy it until I saw that on-line the same product was $50 and it looked like a good product to try on the old pipes in this condo building so I ended up not feeling too bad about the high price of the BIO CLEAN. The price for clearing the drain was $209.57. I felt this was too high for the time spent and work needed. The plumber was good about getting my okay for his work and I was satisfied with how the water drained when he was finished. Drainage looked back to normal. When I got price quote on phone it was about $49.95 for estimate which I was told would be waived if plumber did the job. Yes, the $49.95 was waived, but I really felt the price was so inflated that I paid that estimate charge anyway. I agreed to go forward with work to avoid having to wait around for another unknown plumber. The quality of the work was good (perhaps very good), but the rest of the experience I would not want to repeat.

The repairs were successfully completed within a couple of hours, and the repairman cleaned up after himself. The process of obtaining an estimate and having the work done went seamlessly, and the quality of the work was top notch. Even though the repairman was a little late, he had called to tell us he was running late. We are quite pleased with the outcome.

The repairman showed up on time, worked diligently, completed all projects, and even cleaned up after himself (including vacuuming carpet). The work is all high quality, and was completed in one business day. I am amazed that the project was solicited, estimated, and completed without a hitch, given the state of the home repair industry these days.

See above. I had to take days off work and meet them at my house FOUR TIMES and paid them OVER A THOUSAND DOLLARS and they still didn't fix my toilet!!! I even wrote the General Manager, Elias Moussa, who agreed to install a new cheap toilet in place of the still broken one. Then, a month later, his boss Malcolm Coleman rescinded the offer. DO NOT USE MICHAEL & SONS. They are only good at ripping people off and wasting their time.

I have used Michael and Sons on several occasions. Their plumbers are great and they have told me it is a good place to work. It shows. Their prices are competitive and if someone thinks they are high they should get 3 estimates and compare. I have done that. They are professional, show up when they say they will, answer the phone promptly and explain in detail what they are going to be doing. This time, the plumber came out, gave me a diagnosis, and snaked the toilet with an auger. and snaked and snaked and snaked. It took a long time and it appeared nothing was going to work and nothing was coming out, but he stayed with it to save me the time and expense and mess of pulling the toilet. His instincts were good and finally it cleared and is working like it normally does. Could not have been a better experience. I will use them again.

I contracted with Michael & Son to repair a leaking window. The original contract included plastering and painting the inside after the window had been removed and repaired. I elected to do the plastering myself, which brought the revised estimate to $900.00. The contract specifically required Michael & Son to: resolve and repair the source of the leak, touch up paint, clean all existing sealant, reseal the window and repair leak. On November 5, a repairman from Michael & Son arrived and placed a bead of caulk (worth about $2) around the window. He never even came inside the house. The next day, it rained and the leak remained. A few days later, two other repairmen came to my home and said they did not remove or repair windows or siding, only caulk. I complained to the company and they offered to refund my money. As of today s date, Michael & Son has not refunded my money. I have filed a dispute with Visa, which is in process. It's been 1 1/2 months.

Plumber was nice but the price was outrageous, 4 times what I expected. I will continue to do my own plumbing. It will take me 3 or 4 times longer, but it will be only a few dollars.

The plumber arrived within the scheduled time frame and immediately went to work. The entire job from start to finish took less than one hour. The old toilet was removed and the new one was installed, caulked around the floor and made fully operational. The only negative was that he left the float valve mis-adjusted causing the toilet to draw a small amount of water every 3 - 5 minutes. I easily fixed that problem myself. Preliminary experience tells me that, rather than using a plumber for purchase AND installation, it is less expensive to buy the product on sale at a big home improvement store and use their installers. I used a different plumbing company to install a new kitchen faucet and disposal unit and paid nearly $1000 for parts and installation that would have cost considerably less at home improvement stores.

They charged me a very good price and they were very professional. They were very clean and they were always handling this situation with care. They showed up on time to my house and they did an excellent job.

We were very pleased with the work done. I felt they were fair on the charges, and they were comparable to other estimates. They were professional, on time, and took great pride in their work. I was impressed how quickly it was completed. Thumbs up!

Will never use their plumbing services again! My husband and I had to argue with them to get them to come out and fix their mistake. We were left wit a damaged, water stained ceiling and a note that their "repair" is only a temporary fix. Very unprofessional.

We were out of town and there was some very bad weather at home, when our sump pumps failed and the basement flooded. They assisted in getting to old carpet out and also found asbestos underneath it, which we had someone else come in a remove. They were very reliable in our time of need.

The job would not pass inspection from the county. They then had called the wrong electric company and had them come out. They finally got the right electric company and the county inspector and the work was passed. The whole process took 3 to 4 weeks. I would not hire them again.

I gave Michael and Sons a B on professionalism because they were very likable, but they just didnt do good work. I thought the price was too high for the mess they made. They showed up late and one time they left at 10:00 to get parts and said they would be right back but they didnt get back until 12:30 and left me waiting with the faucets dripping. We would never use them again.
