Paul came to do one of the bi-yearly inspections. The pop-up mechanism in the master bathroom was broken and the whole unit needed to be replaced. The new unit functions perfectly and he left the area spotless. I wanted the sediment in the water heater cleaned out. He said that would cost about $1000 and suggested we consider purchasing a new water heater because the heater is 10 years old. He was very friendly and encouraged to voice any concerns I had about any plumbing issues. Great service.

I called for an estimator to come by for plumbing work for a bathroom addition in my basement. I took off work because they were supposed to show up during the week between 8 and 12, but never showed. I rescheduled for the weekend between 8 and 12 and once again, a no-show. Not sure what is up w/ the plumbing division. the electrical guy was on-time and courteous w/ his estimate. However, the plumbing division stinks.

Technical showed up right on time. He didn't seem to know what I had requested. I told him and then he did a few things with the furnace, and then cleaned the air conditioner vents. The entire time he kept trying to sell me a home contract for future work. When he wanted me to pay for the service, I asked him what he did - he was not there for very long. He listed 4 things and then trailed off. Shame on me for not knowing what the 21 check points are, but they clearly weren't performed. I do not recommend - I felt very taken advantage of.

It has turned out very well. They were very professional and clean!

I called on a Saturday, expecting to wait a week before seeing an electrician; however, I was able to schedule an appointment for the next day. There is a $29 "estimate" fee at which point I was given estimates on all the work I might want. The estimates were taken directly from a price book, not simply "concoted" by each electrician. I received estimates on ~3 different problems; however, I only asked to have a light fixture installed. When the estimate was given, I was told it might be "high" as he was unsure what the wiring might look like when he opened the ceiling. The work was easier than expected and the final bill was about $300 less than the original estiamte.

It went great. The technician that serviced my home was polite, clean, friendly, thorough and very professional. He was great and very helpful. Because of his work during the first visit I requested this same technician for my second visit. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to give his name but his name is Mike Lucas. I would definitely call him again for any plumbing work I need done. He also wrote up for me a couple of other minor things I needed done.

The estimate was supposed to be performed between 2 and 6 on Monday. An alternate person showed up at about 7:30 because I called at 5:30 to make sure someone was still coming. Tom did call to confirm that I was still available and was very nice and very professional and personable. He told me it would involve a couple of hours work. I finally got the estimate on Friday, but only because I called on Thursday to ask for it and to find out whether they still had a slot for Tuesday. The esimate was $950!! I guess they just didn't want to deal with such a small job. They should have just said so right away so I would have time to find someone else to do the work on Tuesday.

It was a long while since I had this company come out for any work. But, if I recall, the technician was named Donald, I think. He was professional, did what was requested. Because the clogged outside drain was added on once he arrived at the house he pulled out a book of services and fees and called the office to confirm the quote prior to work being completed. He did what he was suppose to do, received our payment and left. Easy in and easy out. I don't have any complaints about the service we received. I would use the company.

When I've had problems, they are very responsive. Their people are pleasant and professional. I am satisfied with their service.

They did a good job. They were professional and they knew what they were talking about. Their price was fine; it wasn?t the most expensive and it wasn?t the least.

Outrageous overcharge. I was charged $325.63 for a 29 minute job. I blame myself for not sending the tech packing when he gave me the estimate, but I was rushed. I don't have any problem with the quality of the job or the performance of the tech. Only the price. I was alarmed at the bill which was determined from a company "flat rate" schedule. Assuming that the tech makes about $40 per hour, and the company overhead rate is around 250%, which is not uncommon for similar services, a realistic charge for this service should not have exceeded $140. Rather than try to deal with the tech on pricing I decided to take it to their management. They were only willing to resolve the issue by obligating me to other services, at a discount. I will not use Michael and Son again.

They are very knowledgeable and their plumbers are very good. They know what they are doing. They are highly priced, though.

Two electricians arrived on time, put covers over their shoes, and were polite. So far, so good. They installed a ceiling fan I'd purchased at Home Depot, then pointed out to me that because the ceiling is slanted, a standard installation caused the fan to be at an angle (crooked). I should have thought of that earlier, but they also should have mentioned it before the installation. I asked what should be done and whether I could get some sort of adapter at Home Depot, which is 3 minutes away. They said Home Depot would not have what I needed and offered to sell me a fan designed for sloped ceilings. The only one in their catalog that fit my decor cost over $500, plus re-doing the installation. I said no, they left, & I had spent $253 on a job that needed to be redone. I went online and found out you can buy a sloped ceiling adapter for about $20; went to Home Depot and bought one. Called Michael & Son dispatcher and asked if guy could come back and reinstall fan with adapter. They said it would be $45. He did come back promptly, about an hour after I called, but didn't like the adapter I bought because of its AESTHETICS! It only came in white & I needed a brushed steel look to match the fan, so I had bought metallic spray paint. When the guy saw me pull the adapter and paint out of the Home Depot bag, he laughed and said I shouldn't do it because it would look bad. (I agree it isn't a perfect match, but I've since painted it, and it looks fine.) He said "Call me when you're ready to do it right" which I took as a refusal to reinstall the fan with my adapter. I'm assuming this attitude was because I refused to buy the $500 fan from them. Maybe just one strange guy and not typical of the company.

the plumber was extremely nice. i did provide some items. i did find them pricey but i have used them before and was happy with what they had done. the work was thorough, well done and done on time. the plumber cleaned after himself, took the discarded items away. i received follow up cards from the individual indicating he was happy working with me, which he did. i hovered a bit, asked questions, advised him on what i found and wanted to him to do and it was done to me complete satisfaction. i will however indicate that their prices were a bit high.

I have used this company in the past so I know of their hard-sell practices. The gentleman who came out had done a plumbing inspection on my house before. He asked me again if I was interested in a warranty for my plumbing in the house. That was not what he was there for. He made a mess of my bathroom when removing the vanities. He cut holes in my drywall which were totally unnecessary and damaged other walls in trying to get the vanities out. He also ruined the vanities, which he knew I was going to reuse. He just needed to cut one pipe to pull the vanity out but cut a big whole in the back of the vanity in addition to the wall and bent up the drawer runners, rendering the vanity unuseable. He then tried to convince me that I needed to let him know the exact location of the new vanity sinks so that he could align the pipes. This seemed unnessary. I had to scramble to find them for him. I called the company and had them fax the instructions and dimensions to my husband's office and then had to have someone in his office read them over the phone as he needed them right away. He said that it wasn't sufficient information but he determined that he would have to come up through the basement to re-route the pipes. He said that this was going to be a major bathroom renovation now. The vanities I chose are not unusual in size or shape. There was no need for all this. He said that his company did bathroom renovations and they would give me an estimate. Big surprise! He was loud and intrusive always needing to show me something and telling me what a problem this was going to be. Now he would have to come back which will cost me more and that their renovation department would just make this a much easier and seemless project. I finally told him that that was not in the budget. Now I have to replace the drywall in several sections. He made a mess of an easy project so that he could sell me something else. I felt taken. They will never come near my house again.

They are outstanding. They are very responsive and quick. They were very skilled and easy to work with. They came out right away and were very professional.

Terrible. I had to hire another contractor to re-do the exterior work after the window continued to leak. And I had to hire another contractor to fix the drywall "repairs" done by Michael and Son. I called them back to fix their work, and they came back, but it was still terrible. They were rushing through the job, and I am sorry I wasted my money. I don't remember the exact dates of service, but every time I see a Michael and Son truck in someone's driveway, I shake my head. Disappointing.

Overall positive experience. Sadly, I encountered some repeat difficulty with the financial dept of this company. Payment was provided immediately following completion of both jobs. However, the financial dept contacted me twice with a "no record of pymt" inquiry. The first time I was quite understanding of their oversight. The second call I received regarding the same pymt inquiry, I was disappointed and a bit irritated. After providing confirmation of pymt a second time, the matter was resolved. This occurrence somewhat spoiled an otherwise, favorable experience.

Not as well as I wanted, but ultimately Michael & Sons came through. We had an urgent situation and they responded well, examined the problem (leak in drain pipes in basement and damaged drain pipes exterior to house. Mich & Sons said they would apply charge to scope the pipe (run camera down pipe to find damage) to the bill if we used them to fix problem. While this is standard they charged close to $1000 to scope and remove a toilet, then the total bill of $15,000 was very pricey. We were in a panaic so took it. Later it turned they missed an area to be fixed but the rest of their work was very good. And they refunded some of the money where we were overcharged. Bottomline: it you have time to look around you may find as good work for cheaper, but they are good plumbers--just overpriced.

They didn't show much understanding of what I was trying to do. I don't mean it was horrible, but they were the only ones asking questions that I thought were obvious. I was a little surprised they had to clarify these things.

Michael and Son's employee was very professional, courteous, and talkative. So much so, we probably wasted 45 minutes gabbing instead of getting to the work to be done. When he finished writing up the order it came to well over $2,000 for repairing one faucet and installing another one. After my wife and I said that's way too expensive for us, he came down in price by $900, making us wonder what was the purpose of the first estimate. We talked it over for a few minutes and decided not to give the job to Michael and Son.

They gave me a written estimate which was helpful and they looked very professional. They looked like they had all the equipment that they needed to do the job.

After they came out to give me the estimate, I realized that they were into electrical work. Since the job involved plumbing, I didn?t use them. Their estimate was too high for what I wanted done. They were nice while they gave me the estimate. They were very responsive and very prompt. I ended up using another company for the job. I may use Michael & Son Services in the future.

The room after they left was absolutely spotless. They had all of their equipment on the truck so they didn't have to leave and come back. I was very impressed with their work, and with the crew that came out to my house. I am going to call them back again.

Called Michael & Sons because of a burnt smell coming from our air duct. Technician came out same day at the appointed time and diagnosed the problem as a burnt circuit board, price to fix $580 but also said that replacing would be around $3500 if I was interested (no pressure to buy). When I said that I was interested, the technician provided a precise estimate for a new Carrier Infinity model and said that he could install two days later. Did some research on the suggested system and found the offer reasonable, called with a couple of questions that were answered and learned that they had not tried to sell the top of the line but a more appropriate version that would not require reducting or anything. Came as promised and did a very professional job as far as I can tell and also cleaned up nicely after themselves. One issue: they did not inform me of the fact that I had to register the product to get 10 year warranty (if you don't you only get 5 years), but I had seen this on the Carrier website when I did my research. Other than that, good service, reasonable price and an overall good experience.
