They were great in arranging the appointment, being very clean, neat, and answering questions. They were fantastic. They were punctual, showed up on time, and very professional. They were outstanding. This was the 2nd person we had trying to install a microwave. Michael and Sons made it look so quick and easy. He knew what he was doing.

The repair was successfully performed. The repair was performed after hours. I called the company around 9 pm and spoke with a representative. The technician called me within 10 minutes. He then arrived at the house within 15 minutes. The repair took less than one hour. I was very pleased to have a company come out to the house to make an after hours repair on one of the hottest days of the year. The repair technician was very polite and professional. I am considering getting a service contract with them now.

Our hot water heater's slow leak started picking up pace and I decided it was time for a new one. I went online to the Lowe's website, picked out the heater I wanted and went to the store. I paid there. Got a call from the Lowe's Installation team who told me that Michael & Sons would be the contractor doing the work. Michael & Sons was supposed to give me a call the next day to schedule it, but there was some miscommunication and they scheduled it based on the information I had given to Lowe's. At any rate, I got in touch with Michael & Sons and schedule the appointment for between 12-4pm in the afternoon later in the week. The technician they sent out actually called me about 10:45 in the morning to let me know he was on his way so I had to dash out of work to get home in time. But hey, I'd rather them come early than late or not at all like a lot of contractors. Installation went smoothly and took around two, maybe two and half hours. The tech did a great job. He made sure all the gas connections were tight and the chimney was sealed up properly. He cleaned up after himself and hauled off the old water heater. I'm not sure what the experience would have been like had I bought and contracted with them directly, but the experience through Lowe's was pretty painless, which is how I like it.

I feel like I was really overcharged for this job. I would not use this company ever again.

Purchased a new high-end gas range last year. Wanted to do some custom tile work for the backsplash and surround before it was installed, so the old range was removed and the area cleaned. Completed the tile work (myself!) and called Michael and Sons to change the configuration of the gas inlet. Needed it to be closer to the floor and turned 90 degrees, according to the manufacturer's spec sheet. The technician arrived, a bit late, but no worries. I explained what I needed and showed him the spec sheet from the range manufacturer. He proceeded to work. I told him the pipe looked too high and it needed to be turned. He kept assuring me he had installed "one just like it, last week". I reiterated the spec sheet specifics and he became annoyed with me, insisting he knew what he was doing and "everything will fit just fine". (This gentleman was of foreign extraction. I work in a multicultural environment and feel I have good rapport with and am respectful of most peoples mores'. However, this person seemed to be annoyed that a WOMAN of COLOR was telling him what to do.) I backed off. Perhaps I was being overly concerned and things would work out. Ha! The next week, the range was delivered and sure enough, it WOULD NOT FIT over the gas inlet. It was too high and the flexible connector would not reach around without going outside its designated slot. This kept the range from sliding all the way back to the wall. VERY FRUSTRATING. I called M&S and explained the situation. I explained that someone needed to return to my home, lower the inlet height to the range manufacturer's specs and turn the pipe 90 degrees. I explained the "personality conflict" and requested that they send a different plumber. Also, since the range was now in place, they needed to send a second person to help move in order to access the work area. Wouldn't you know it, they sent the same man and no helper. He proceeded to try and jerk the range out by pulling on the oven door. I made him stop immediately. (He became annoyed. Surprise!) With my help we wiggled the stove out and he had to work in a cramped space and at an awkward angle, but at this point I didn't care. He made the required changes and attempted to present me with a bill! I laughed at him and told him if he had done the job right the first time he wouldn't be there and I wasn't going to pay a cent. He stormed out. I called M&S and complained and received verbal apologies, but nothing else. I had used M&S a few times before for minor plumbing and electrical repairs. I've always felt their prices were very high, but because of the situation have chosen to just fork it over. Not any more. As an aside, on a previous visit a M&S's tech's left one of their little rugs there. Then the gas plumber came the second time, he saw the rug and tried to "take it back to the shop". I told him that I was aware that each plumber/electrician purchases their own rugs and it belonged to the other tech and I was NOT giving him a free rug. (He was annoyed, again! Gee, ya think?) All in all, M&S techs usually do good work. They are usually prompt, clean, efficient and knowledgeable. It seems I just got a dud this time. However, their prices are always ridiculous and the way their price books are set up, they encourage their techs to go the most $$ route. I will most probably not use M&S again. Update: Just submitted the above review yesterday. Received a call from M&S customer service today. Gentleman was pleasant, professional and eager to resolve my complaint. Listened to my whole story and agreed that it had been an unpleasant experience. After some light conversation and laughter he offered me a sincere apology, promised to address the issue with the service tech and will send me a $50 service coupon. (Cash would have been better, but not really expected!) MAY reconsider using M&S. Will have to sleep on it. Their prices are still very high.

They do good work and they are very responsive, but they are really expensive. I finally had the work done by a family member who does such type of work. They are very responsive and accommodating. I had called them one morning when an electric outlet had gone out and they came next day. They showed my husband how to reset the switch and did not charge us anything except the fees for coming out and checking it.

It went well. They arrived on time, completed the work promptly, and explained what they were doing. Their follow up was great too, and they left the area clean when they finished.

The plumber was very conscientious. Other plumbers had told us that the leak could not be fixed without cutting a hole in the tub and replacing the faucet, or replacing the tub. The plumber said he thought it was fixable, and worked very hard to find a solution. He also noticed that water pressure was high and installed a regulator. The plumber also called us to make sure everything was working well. The prices were very high, and I felt the company encourages them to try to up-sell other services. But the quality and professionalism offset that.

Overall, the experience has been good. They were good on price, very prompt on service, the technician was knowledgeable, and cleaned up after the job was done. I called them in the morning and they were able to come out that afternoon. They’re getting ready to put in a $10,000 generator in my home.

I called Michael & Son for an estimate based on a recommendation on our neighborhood listserve, the woman who answered the phone said she could not give me an estimate over the phone because the electrician needed to be able to look at the rooms before he could say how much it would be. OK, fair enough. She set up the appointment and informed me that they have a $35 charge just to come out, but that it is credited toward your job. I didn't really think much of it, I really wanted to be able to put up ceiling fans and how much could it really cost? So, the electrician shows up (on time) and without blinking, before he even steps ONE FOOT inside of my house, much less the rooms where the work is to be done, tells me that the three drops will be $1,500. So much for "needing to look at the rooms." I paid him his $35 and told him to go away. I had the work done by another electrician. He charged me $150 apiece.

We had them come out on the weekend so it was a little more than usual. My friend recommended them because of their punctuality, but I just needed someone to come right away because it was so cold. I probably could have gotten the job done a little cheaper but I knew they would get it done. They came out on the weekend but they couldn?t come out to fix it until four days later, so we had to sit in the cold in the mean time.

Carlo was on time, spent the whole day replacing electric panel, installing light fixtures, wiring for new fixtures and more. Price was right, they did it in one day, what would have taken us weeks! Worth every penny!

The experience was great. I have had at least 3 different people answer the phone and all of them were friendly and able to help me. They were thorough and patient, they listened to me and were able to provide timely information. I also had direct phone access to the technicians while they where at the site to discuss options. The service manager also contacted me and we had several chances to discuss next steps and options before we determined that installing a new system was indeed a better use of my money. They presented me with several options and explained the different factors and we agreed on a the specs. They scheduled the installation date with the tenants and completed the job on time. Now I am enjoying a 10 year parts and labor warranty and I am a happy landlord. These guys are good. I recommend them.

They did really well. They came out quickly and completed the job.

It was done in one day. I think they are a jack of all trades. They did a fine job, but were a little costly. However, they were less expensive than a couple of others that we had called to get estimates. The main person who came out, Johnny, was fantastic. He had a helper to install the gas line. It looked like they were trying to get more business. They left their stickers all over the appliances. They left it on the furnace, the circuit breaker, the hot water heater and so forth. Everything is working really great. So far so good. I am happy with them.

They always come out and do the work but they always find other things, too. I always end up spending more than I planned. They do good work but I always end up spending more. I am not sure if these things really need to be fixed or not, but afraid to let it go. They always come out in a reasonable amount of time. They are polite and follow up with the work to make sure it was performed correctly. I have been pretty pleased with them, but they seem expensive. They did arrive on time and were very polite and professional. They do a lot of different services and have been responsive when I call.

I recommend them to anybody. They are very good. They provide 24-hour service. When he came for the emergency he spent about half an hour talking to us. He is very personable. He told us how to maintain it ourselves so we wouldn't have any more emergencies. He recommended a whole bunch of other things. He is first class. We have a maintenance contract and pay $30 per month.

They are excellent! I can't say enough good things about them. They show up on time. They do good quality work. The price might be a bit higher than some, but the value is very good. They clean up very well. They put down drop cloths and wear things over their shoes. They are just very good. I would highly recommend them. I have had some pretty extensive plumbing, HVAC work, and minor electrical work. I plan on having more electrical work done. I use them twice a year for routine maintenance on my furnace and air conditioner.

I found them on the list. I spent about $1000 on that service. It went fine and the guy that came out and did the work was knowledgeable. He had to open up a couple of holes in some drywall which the last electrician did not have to do and that was the only pain because I since then had to re-patch those holes. The job was successful.

They did answer phone at an out of state answering service, but were only interested in making sure that I could pay the $275 plus charges.

I think their price was fine. The work was done fine. The guy who came was nice. He had come earlier when I got the hot water heater fixed six months before. I like their people and the work which they do. I think their price was reasonable for the new toilet. I would use them in the future.

I had a fan that I needed to put in the bathroom ceiling. I bought the fan because I knew they would charge me more. Someone else would have charged me $175. Michael and Sons would have charged me $300 even though I have a contract with them. Their work is great. Their price is too expensive.

During a whole bathroom remodel, after the old vanity was removed, the contractor discovered a rather large hole in the cast iron drain pipe. He asked me to get a plumber as he didn't have the tools to cut iron piping without fracturing it. He also asked that I have the plumber extend the hot and cold water feeds and add valves for the new vanity going in. It was a Saturday and the contractor doing the remodel was a friend from out of town doing me a huge favor, so I wanted the plumbing done ASAP to not hold up my friend. I found Michael & Sons through the yellow pages, they provided weekend and after hours services and could get a plumber out to me late that afternoon/early evening, for an $89.00 dispatch fee. I agreed. The plumber arrived when expected and was very courteous. I sent the contractor with him to explain the situation then waited for the estimate. The old vanity was gone and all the pipes were exposed, the plumber didn't have to contend with any impediments. He presented the estimate as three line items, and hadn't totaled the figures. The line items were: extend copper pipe with valve 186.00; extend copper pipe with valve 186.00; cast iron repair 201.00. I took a look and asked how long the whole job would take, and he said less than an hour. My response was 'so you're charging me about $572.00 an hour'. He seemed shocked until I did the actual math for him, which didn't include the $89 dispatch fee. I should have said no, I wanted to say no, but I wanted the work done and I was in for $89 regardless, so I ok'd it. When all was said and done he gave me a 10% discount for unexplained reasons. He was courteous, clean, did a good job and communication with the company itself went well also - it's simply the prices that will keep me from ever calling on them again.

They gave us a quote last week. The interaction has been very good. They were very friendly and very professional. The price is very fair.
