Description of Work: I used Michael & Son Services Inc for plumbing services. Basically they came to just add another drain, properly clean out the drain.

Description of Work: Had A/C serviced (dual zone) and an attic fan installed.

Description of Work: They came out to troubleshoot.

Description of Work: Bathroom sink drain pipe eroded due to age and a clog had formed in the drain as well.

Description of Work: I used Michael & Son Services Inc. I last used their services I think in August of 2011. They installed a sump pump and also cleaned out a drain.

Description of Work: They came to replace a component in my heating unit.

Description of Work: repaired copper pipe that a pin hole leak. Price was too high for such a small job. Tech had to go to Lowes to get a piece of copper pipe

Description of Work: I have a stripped bathtub water knob.

Description of Work: I was out of town when a tenant called to say they had a leak in the wall that was causing water to pool in the basement. In truth the tenant somewhat exaggerated the amount of water getting to the basement, implying there was a pool rather than a puddle. This company was easy to reach and they did send a plumber quickly. But instead of warning me about the potential cost of the job, the plumber first charged a large fee just to go to the job, then over $300 to find the leak, a simple matter, and the rest to put in a small pipe where the original was leaking. So, if I had really needed him, good marks on punctuality, but I would not have hired the guy at all if he had told me his prices.

Description of Work: Initial service call for consult was in addition to the fee charge for actually providing a service if you choose to utilize then at all. I'm ok with that. ($45) This was perfomred by theowner Michael Schilling. Nice man, but boy are there problems at the office and with the laborers. Was told that someone would contact me within a week of the intial visit with an install date on an order of (3) vents for the exterior of my house that would match my siding. No call ever came. I actually had to contact them again, and was told that someone would be coming to my house THAT DAY. I said that's funny, no one called to schedule an appointment, and their plan was NOT convenient. So they had someone show up the next morning. OK...fine..we worked with that. The next morning, someone showed up at my door and said that Home Depot only sells WHITE vents, we can bring those if you want, or we can make a Special Order. I explained that I was told the order was already made. So why are you showing up at my house WITHOUT PRODUCT TO INSTALL? If they didn't have the product they shouldn'thave come back to the house. As a compromise, I asked then to go up the ladder and snip the wire in the dry vent to release the lint that had accummulated. For this I was charged $140 IN ADDITION TO the initial vist fee. Kind of steep, but grateful to have someone else go 25ft up a ladder. When the credit card statement came for the month, we noticed that we had been DOUBLE CHARGED for the (non-service) - or $280. So, again I called the owner of the business and expressed my concern over the handling of our service and agreement. He assurred me that a credit would be issued for $140 back to my account and aplogized for the inconvenience. Here we are THREE WEEKS LATER, AND I HAVE TO MAKE ANOTHER CALL TO THE OWNER WHO CANNOT SEEM TO GET PROFESSIONALS TO HANDLE HIS BUSINESS AFFAIRS APPROPRIATELY. A SCREW U FROM DAY ONE. WOULDN'T RECOMMNED THEM AT ALL!!!!

Description of Work: They installed a new toilet and replaced an ejection pump in another toilet.

Description of Work: 2/9/12 We were having a heat pump installed and it was discovered that 2 of our breakers were not working. The heat pump installation was in jeopardy of not being able to be complete. Our technician suggested we call Michael & Sons - we called w/ no expectation but to our surprise they were able to come out w/in 2 hours. The technician was able to fix the wiring so the heat pump installation could take place but recommended we consider replacing out electrical box as it was seriously outdated. He gave us an estimate of what it would cost to replace the electrical box. 2/12/12 Harry came out a replaced the electrical box - It was an all day job. He arrived at 10:30 am and worked until 7 pm He worked constantly and did an excellent job. 2/23/12 Fairfax County inspected because an electrical box was replaced. It passed inspection.

Description of Work: Old well pump failed (so no water in the house). M&S inspected my system, determined the cause of the issue and gave me an estimate for the work. Service person removed old well pump and installed a new one.

Description of Work: Francys and Guilmer installed several J boxes in attic, cleaned up wiring to include running wires through joists to accommodate underlayment, rewired bedroom light switch, installed hall light and rewired front door entry light. Allowed me to work around them without any issues.

Description of Work: I contacted Michael and Sons to repair a running toilet. The toilet required a 're-build' and the service was performed perfectly.

Description of Work: I called Michael & Son Services (703.873.7368) to have an easy to access faucet replaced in a bathroom sink. I asked for an estimate during the call, e.g., typical price. I was told that it was not possible to: a) quote a typical price, b) explain pricing except by a technician during a visit which costs $29., or c) contact or speak to any other person (in the office or out in the field)! Since I needed the repair, I agreed to the terms. STUPID ME! I

Description of Work: I use Michael and Sons Plumbing and Electricians for electrical services. I have been using them probably for a good ten years. I used them last year to put in a new fixture in my foyer and new outside lights.

Description of Work: They were supposed to do the prep work and caulking of the seams before they painted the exterior of the home but did not.

Description of Work: I hired them for some electrical work. I called them because my ceiling light became loose. They sent someone on the same day as promised and he was very polite. He worked diligently and was able to replace the ceiling fixture and did a good job. He offered to go around my house to make sure everything was up to code. I allowed him to do so and he identified that my kitchen outlet was not up to code. He offered to replace it as well. He checked the electrical box in my basement and said I only had a 100 amp. He said it had been installed properly but the wiring was fraying. He advised that I might consider upping to a 200 amp. I agreed and he scheduled a time to come back and replace it.
