They ran a little late due to the morning's thunderstorm, but called as soon as they knew and gave an estimated time of arrival (which was only 15 minutes after they said they would be here). The same electrician came out that provided the quote and remembered where I said I wanted everything! He explained that he brought a second person with him, who was on vacation the day he came for the quote which is why I didn't meet him before, so as not to worry me. They worked efficiently and quickly and were very careful not to let my curious cats outside. They covered their shoes when they came inside which I didn't think was necessary at first, but with all the mud outside I am very glad they did. They wired up the outside of the house and in through the flooring, they only cut holes where the cable jacks were going on the inside and sealed the hole on the outside. They cleaned up the drywall mess and took the extra pieces with them. Before they left, they checked that the internet was still working and all the tv's worked with the new cable (which we had been warned might not if the electrician didn't use the right type of splitter). They were courteous and quick and did exactly what they said they would do.

Since I joined Angie's List, I generally have only gone with A rated companies, esp. in a category like plumbing where there are so many options. I was disappointed that so many of the places I called wanted to charge close to $100 or more just to come out and diagnose the problem. I decided to call Michael's and Sons (I see their trucks around all the time) even though they only have a B on Angie's List. They quoted me $29 to come out to diagnose the problem, and they were the only company that specifically mentioned that that fee could be applied towards the repair. Other companies may do that too, so it would pay to ask. Still, I didn't want to be on the hook for $100 and then end up not liking the company or the technician and not going with them for the repair. I figured with Michael's and Sons at least I'm only out $29 if I don't like them. The technician (Kenny) arrived within the scheduled window of arrival, and called about 7 minutes before he got there. He put shoes covers on before entering the house. He quickly diagnosed the problem and provided an estimate for repair. Once we approved the estimate, he set to work doing the repair. Whole thing from start to finish took maybe an hour or so. I am not sure how their prices compare to others - Based on quotes I got over the phone from other companies for how much they charge per hour, and knowing now how long this repair took, there is a chance it may have been cheaper elsewhere. However, I do not know if another company would have gotten the job done so quickly, or how much they would have charged for materials. Either way, the repair was actually less expensive than I thought it would be, so we went ahead and got it done. Kenny even offered to tell us a way we might be able to do the repair ourselves for cheaper, but we did not want to be bothered with that hassle. Still, impressed that he offered that as an option. Kenny noticed the loud knocking sound our pipes make and told us an easy fix we could do ourselves to make the knocking go away. He did mention that it was a good thing that we put the hole in the ceiling ourselves (we puched through the moldy wet spot to see if we could find the leak) because had we not done that, he would have had to charge an additional $150 for a leak finding fee. I do think that seems a bit steep, considering that there is no question where the leak was, since there was a large wet moldy spot on the ceiling. So, had we had to pay that additional $150 I may not have been so happy. Overall though the visit went smoothly and I am very pleased we were able to get the repair done the same day. I would use Michael's and Sons again for additional repairs if I need to.

My overall experience was good. I would say that they were pretty standard for the service that one would expect in my area. The biggest complaint was the price of the job. I should have done my research first and did some comparison shopping . I would use Michael and Sons again if I felt they were offering a competitive price. Update: I had a wonderful conversation with Vance the Customer Relations Manager who called me after he saw my review here. He listen to my concerns in an objective way and explained their pricing vs. quality. He reminded me that I did receive a discount on the parts and service however I still think it was too pricey. After our conversation he was kind enough to offer me a discount on my next service form Michael and Sons. As I said earlier, I will use their service again if the price seems fair.

It went really well and they did a great job. We went with them because our son used to work for them, so they cut us a really good deal and they were right on top of the job. I don’t know how they would have been if our son hadn’t worked for them. So, I don’t know how to say if I would recommend them or not. Given the experience that we had, it was great and they did a great job.

They did a good job. About a year and half ago they did the air-conditioning check up and later I needed a part and the part was very expensive. However it worked and it is still working so from that stand it was good. They did quote me one price and then they charged me a different price. Then when I told them about it, they checked and it worked out all right. One needs to keep tabs on everybody. Their price was good. As for quality of the part that they put in is still working. It worked all that season and the rest of the season and that was a year and half ago right after Christmas of 2010. So it worked for the rest of the winter of 2010 and 2011. It worked the winters of 2011 and 2012 without any problems. So the quality was good. Probably I would use them again.

They come when they say they will, and will even call you to come early if they can. If, for any reason, the technician can't come, they immediately reassign someone else to do the work.

We were very satisfied. They did a very nice job.

He came to test the water line to see if there were any leaks. There were no leaks. He showed me how He did the test. They were great.

They did well. There is quite a difference in their price if you go through Lowes or if you go to them directly. There was a significant increase in the price going to them directly as it was when going through Lowes. It was the exact situation and the exact toilet. There were no additional problems or time. The microwave was purchased through Lowes and it was a great price. I would only use them again if I went through Lowe’s.

Their service was fine. Their cost was expensive. We have lived in this house for 40 years. We had never ever found anybody that was satisfactory with us that we would repeat the call. The time we called them, we were guided by Angie’s List and others. I find that everything about them is really quite impressive. Their employees and their service was quite fine. They have a standard cost for an category repairs no matter what the work. The work we were having done fell in one electrical category. We had some small electrical issues that was $100 but you could have something more complicated done for the same price. Sometimes you can get a good deal and sometimes a rotten deal. I don’t like this type of pricing. I’m not sure what other electricians or plumbers work this way. It reminds me of auto repair shops that have done this for multiple years. I was turned off by their pricing. I was hoping we would be satisfied enough to call them back, but we are still looking for a good electrician. Their employees were polite, straight forward, and nice. They listened and answered all of our questions. Their employees were superb. The personal was excellent.

Their service was excellent. They were very professional and courteous. Their follow up was good; we received a post card from them. They provided me with the phone number for an inspection of the water heater afterwards. They had excellent service.

I pay $29 a month and they come twice a year for heating and air conditioning. They give discounts on things. I needed a new motor in my air conditioner. I have recommended them to others. The workers showed up on time and got right to work. They put in switches that were required, which weren't installed the first time. They young man who came was so helpful! He told me different things about surge prevention and updating electrical outlets to code. I was very impressed with their professionalism and knowledge. I would highly recommend.

The service was fine. The only thing is that he was supposed to send a receipt via email and I never saw the receipt. The person was very nice and on time. We negotiated the price and he did go down on his price. He was a very nice person and he did a really good job.

Their service was great. I bought a whole house contract from them. It has paid for itself already. I have used them for years. I have been very satisfied with them. Shortly after moving into this house we had to replace an air conditioning unit. Initially we had problems, but they kept after it till they made the problem all better. In their inspection they give you with the whole house contract, they discovered my sump pump was broken and we had water at the bottom. We were able to replace it. The contract gives you a 10% discount on all services and you get priority over the other customers. Their service techs are so friendly. They are very thorough and make sure you are educated in knowing what they are doing.

Their service was fine. The person that came over was very nice and courteous. He checked all the other plumbing as well as a courteous.
