I was really happy with Maid to Clean house cleaning company. They did a good job. They picked up everything from the floor to clean underneath. They even cleaned on top of doors. Their dusting was phenomenal. We have two dogs and so the dog hair is everywhere. They really took care and spent a lot of time vacuuming to make sure that every dog hair is cleaned out. They are eco friendly. They are extremely attentive to details. I would use them again in the future if required.
Description of Work: I last used Maid to Clean house cleaning company in September, 2010. They cleaned my whole house. That was three bedrooms, one bathroom, kitchen and living room.

They crew arrived on time and got right to work. I was home for part of the time and noticed that they all were working and not just talking on their cell phones or to each other (previous experience with several companies). They worked consistently and thoroughly. I will definitely use them again and have already recommended them.

Four housecleaners arrived on time (actually early) spent approx three hours cleaning my three level townhome in Alexandria, VA. It was very dusty, handn't been properly cleaned in months. The sink downstairs had paint residue from housepainting jobs I'd been doing. After they were done the kitchen sink was the whitest I'd ever seen it. They zapped all the dust, scrubbed kitchen stove top, vacuumed downstairs, etc. They were polite and professional. The front office (management) was very responsive and easy to deal with. Overall a very professional job and given the thorough cleaning, and four staff working for three hours, I thought the price was fair.

They were responsive in quickly booking an appointment, which I was able to get scheduled for within a week of my request. They arrived on time and started working immediately. It was a bit pricey - but was worth it. Highly recommended.
Description of Work: I used Maid to Clean for a one time / spring cleaning. They really did scrub all of those things that I never take the time to clean on a regular basis - they cleaned the blinds, the light fixtures, the walls, floors, etc. My apartment is spotless - It was great.

We have worked with a variety of professional cleaning teams over the years and Maid to Clean is, without a doubt, the most responsive, detail-oriented, professional and reliable company we've used. Their communication -- from our initial consult more than a year ago through our most recent visit -- is fantastic. They are proactive and always let me know if they have a question or are unclear or if something unplanned happens (which is rare). Their attention to detail is simply amazing. From wood blinds to the tops of books, I never have to worry that they'll leave behind dust in hard-to-reach places. I've never seen their level of service waver. They show up on time and are consistently pleasant and efficient. They're even kind to our old, admittedly bark-happy dog. We are delighted with their service and have recommended them to several friends in the neighborhood, who also use their services and rave about them. I would highly recommend Maid to Clean to anyone.

I have absolutely no complaints. They do a great job every time. The initial "deep clean" was incredibly thorough, if pricey, but they were up front about that. I have been especially impressed with the responsiveness of customer service to various requests, such as changing the cleaning day or time. If the maids run into a problem while cleaning (and while I am at work) (e.g., there was once a blown fuse), customer service contacts me immediately to let me know and resolve the problem. They use their own products, but are happy to substitute whatever you want and, in my case, called me to make sure they were using my product where and how I wanted them to. Only once has anything broken -- a cheap plastic bracelet -- and they left me a note about it; it wasn't ignored or hidden. I highly recommend these folks.

I had maid to clean for several months and had countless issues with their teams. They broke several glasses, which was no big deal. But then they broke a figurine from Africa and a bowl from Guam and wanted me to present receipts to get a refund. This was impossible given they were purchased abroad and were irreplaceable. The weekly cleaning were frustrating because they unplugged electronics with timers after being repeatedly asked not to. The last and final straw was when they left my dogs outside after a cleaning IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER. They were outside for over 8 hours and no one told me. I spoke with Cindy the owner and her response was the team recognized I was "in a bad mood that morning" and thought the dogs were suppose to remain outside, which we had NEVER done before. My small dog got a horrid cold. To be honest they clean ok and its easy to write off the small mistakes, but they really start to build up and after a while you stop remembering why you deal with it. I would suggest not using this company. The owner also appears to be quite flighty.

We provided bi-weekly service for this client since Oct 2009 and in that time the client provided specific instructions regarding arrival time, cleaning and instructions regarding her dogs. All of her instructions were followed and met. We take extra precaution with pets. On our last cleaning the client took her dogs outside and left them outside. The client did not communicate to the staff any instructions regarding her pets and our staff followed procedures. The client expected that the staff should have known to bring the pets in. Our procedures are to follow client instructions regarding pets and in this case it was the client's responsibility to communicate to the staff to bring the dogs in. In many cases clients return home or have dog walkers attend to the pets and the staff could not have guessed the client's intention regarding her pets.

They arrived on time, but with one more person than originally had been quoted, which caused some concern in terms of price, but ended up being a blessing. I had capped their time at 3 hours, but said if they needed to run a little over, I understood. They got to work immediately and worked diligently throughout the entire time they were at the house. I had to leave for work, but my roommate was at home throughout the experience and said they were very professional and dedicated. When I came home that evening, they had done an AMAZING job. Our kitchen looked like it was brand new and our floors were shining. I was very impressed with the work they did and would highly recommend them to anyone who asked. They did, however, do one thing that was out of place. I had asked them to carry some trash down from the 3rd level of the house, but they left some of it on our front porch. I think they must have just forgotten to pick it up, and it wasn't a lot, so it was just a minor annoyance when they had done such a great job with everything else. Also, the place smelled fantastic, and not like harsh chemicals. High marks!
Description of Work: Maid to Clean came to our home yesterday in order to clean the main level of our large home in NW DC. They cleaned the kitchen, living room, dining room, window panes, floors, stairs, etc., of all the common areas in our house.

I was a customer of Maid to Clean for several years. I had off and on throughout that time, had things go missing. Usually clothing. Never a lot, but when red is a favorite color and you start to notice that you have fewer and fewer red shirts each month it becomes obvious. I did not want to switch companies, so contacted the company and spoke with Cindy the owner. I told her that I didn't want to accuse anybody so asked if she could let the cleaners know I was missing clothing and if they found the missing items someplace int he house please let me know. That seemed to end the problem of my disappearing clothes for a while. My tenants in the rental unit mentioned an item or two of clothing had disappeared, I told them I'd contacted the service and it shouldn't be happening again, and I reimbursed them myself. There were a few issues with breakage. Once again, I did not push it, it was usually just a glass or two, but once they broke a vase. I informed the company of this and they apologized, with no offer to replace it. Again, I did not push it, I didn't have a receipt for the vase so figured I'd let it go. The one time I requested that they replace an item was when they broke an item belonging to the tenants. They broke a lamp, I called to let them know and suddenly, this company that I had never once asked to replace any of the broken items over the years, nor any of the clothes that disappeared said, "How do we know you are telling the truth? Can you prove it? I told them that I had documented every time I had called them with a problem and never once asked for reimbursement, and we were way into double digits, and I couldn't believe that they were responding this way. I said, forget it, just cancel my account. They apologized and said they would send a check to my tenants to replace the item. This took two months and another two phone calls. I started to have problems when the cost of their cleaning mysteriously started going up after that. They claimed that the units were taking longer to clean. I won't go into every detail of my dealings with them, but when the invoices started to be incomplete and there were billing inconsistencies, as well as use of a debit card by their office without authorization, which my bank had to respond to by pulling back the money, I canceled them. ------------------------------------ The company's response below is one more example of their providing false information. They were fired by e-mail and copies of my keys were requested to be returned. The keys took months and additional contact to finally get back, but by that time I had already changed the locks.

After many years of service to this client we terminated our services to this client in 2006 and sent his unpaid balance to collections. As the owner I have a close relationship with my staff and do not feel my staff was responsible for this client's missing clothing. We reiumbursed the client for all damaged items.

A neighbor recommended Maid to Clean because I was getting very tired of spending free time on weekends cleaning my house. I like my house clean, and the work it took was getting to be too much. I called Maid to Clean and from the first visit I was thrilled. A team of 3 people come over, and on that first cleaning, every nook and cranny of my house was cleanined and was spotless. They maintain that cleaning every two weeks with the regular service. When I come home on the day of their visit, my home is spotless, the sheets are changed, my stove is clean, my floors are mopped, and I can go on and on about all they do. One of the best things is that I learned is that when people clean your house and know what they are doing, the house seems to stay clean longer. In between cleanings, I just have to keep things tidy - there is no major cleaning to do. It is fantastic. I really do enjoy the free time I now have on weekends because I am not cleaing toiltes, scrubbing showers, or mopping floors.
Description of Work: Maid to Clean has been cleaning my home for the last 3 months. I cannot be happier with the quality of their work, their punctuality, and their dependability - even during an ice storm a few weeks back. I use their bi-weekly cleaning service and it is just right for me. They clean everything - no spec of dust or dirt, no matter where it is hiding, will escape. For example, the tops of my kitchen cabinets are now spotless, the top of my armoire is as well. Who usually cleans those places? Not me, but Maid to Clean does. I highly recommend Maid to Clean!!

They are excellent. There are three women that come in and work for two hours. I spend about $120 each time they come. I have been very satisfied with them. They practically clean the entire house down to the last inch of surface. They come in a group and they do a great job. The first time was special and they came in and spent nearly four hours; they must have cleaned the floor five times before they walked out. That was the very first time and my house needed that kind of cleaning. Every time they come they bring it back up to that standard which we are very satisfied with. It?s a standard cleaning service so they don?t do dishes or laundry, but they will change all the bedclothes and drapes. They clean the entire kitchen: they clean all the fixtures, the refrigerator door, the stove, and everything else. We haven?t asked them for anything special, but their regular service is great. They wouldn?t have been working for me if they weren?t good. I think the price and the quality are excellent. Their responsiveness is good. I presume that they are bonded and insured. English is their second language and that poses some issues, but nothing that can?t be overcome. I would use their services in the future too. In fact, they are coming back on Friday.

The whole process went really well. I called their office and was given an estimate for a one time deep cleaning of my townhouse (which they calculate based on a series of questions such as number of levels, total square footage, number of bathrooms, number of people living in the house, presence of children or pets, etc., etc.). I wanted to be there for the cleaning in order to walk them through the house, explain certain things, etc., and we were able to make an appointment just a few days later. I selected the first time slot of the morning, arriving between 7:15-7:45, and the team of three arrived right on time. After a quick walk through, they set right to work, and didn't let up for five full hours. I was working in my office, and there was no bother to me at all (I told them when they needed to get in there to just tell me and I'd move to another room, which I did). The company uses their own supplies for the first deep cleaning (but I understand if you get regular cleanings you provide the supplies?). This was fine (and I appreciate the limited use of harsh chemicals) - but I did provide them with a special product to clean the Corian countertops, and also a special product for the hardwood floors (which requires a special cleaner). They did struggle with the latter a little bit, and I think I didn't explain how to use it well enough. (Also, as others have commented, in my team there was one English speaker who translated to Spanish for the other two -- I eventually just communicated with them all entirely in Spanish, which helped). The total cost of the cleaning ended up being right in the middle of the estimate range I had been provided, and given the amount of person hours they devoted to the (hard) work (3 people X 5 hours = 15 hours), $427 didn't seem unreasonable. The real value to me has been reinforced several times over the several days since they were here -- every day I come across something that I notice is nice and clean and feel a surge of appreciation -- especially for those things that I *never* get around to doing myself! Based on this experience I would definitely recommend Maid to Clean to others, and will certainly use them again myself. I do not need very frequent cleanings of my house, but did indicate when I made the initial appointment that I would possibly have periodic cleanings, e.g., 3-4 times a year. After actually having this frist cleaning done, my 'possibly' is now a 'definitely' -- and I will absolutely be calling them again in a few months to come back again. Thank you!!!!
Description of Work: Deep cleaning of three level townhouse (2300 sq. ft.) - house is 10 years old and has never had a professional cleaning. Cleaning included extensive dusting, including wiping down baseboards, dusting blinds, and removing accumulated dust from LOTS of knick knacks, etc.; thorough cleaning of 3.5 baths and kitchen, including corian countertops, small appliances (not inside of refrigerator or oven, though, which is an extra charge); vaccuming of two levels, and cleaning of hardwood floors on one level.

This house has been serviced by "Maid to Clean" for 10 years and I have been happy with the excellent service. I work long hours, every day of the week, and their service helps to keep this house in good condition and livable. Especially appreciated is the honesty and trustworthiness of the workers; nothing has ever been broken or taken, and I never worry about personal or financial information in the house. Their use of non-toxic and non-smelly cleansers leaves the house fresh and is a bonus for my friends and relatives with allergies and asthma. On occasion they have arrived as I was leaving for work, and the energy and good spirits that the workers display is pleasant. They set to work immediately and seem to have an efficient system. I cannot imagine ever changing to another service, and would unreservedly recommend them to others. This is a good company that appears to treat their employees well and takes a serious approach to providing good quality service.
Description of Work: Medium-deep house cleaning monthly, which includes dusting, mopping, bed making, thorough scrubbing of the kitchen and bathrooms, cleaning and/or polishing of other surfaces, folding of afghans and extra blankets, neatening of incidental clutter, dish washing, emptying of trash cans in various rooms and taking the garbage to the alley bin, removal of the contents of the recycle bin to the alley bin, emptying the dishwasher.

The quality of service was good in the beginning but then there were a series of issues that arose that made us end our service. On two occassions the staff left their lunch in our refrigerator and their coat and wallet behind. In the latter case, we had to arrange a time for them to pick it up. Also, there were scratches to our furniture and kitchen appliances that we started to notice. My husband and I do not have kids or pets and our furniture/applicances are fairly new. When I brought this to their attention, the former office manager, Brenda, was very accommodating and promised to communicate my concerns to the staff. However, their last visit resulted in our security alarm going off, my husband having to leave work, and the cops showing up. The staff claimed that the alarm went off b/c of the vibration from work being done on the house next door. This had never happend before and the alarm company said that it would impossible for the alarm to be activated without someone turning it on and not entering the code. (The staff had a key to our house and they were instructed to turn on the alarm when they left - they never had a code). The new office manager, Elizabeth, was completely unprofessional when I spoke to her about what had happened and said "this isn't a good fit". After ending our service I noticed that we were charged extra because they claimed it took longer to clean. For one year we were charged the same amount and coincidentally for our last cleaning we are charged more. I understand that it takes time to establish a routine with cleaners but we endured a year of different mishaps and spent $300 a month to boot! I probably would have stuck it out if we would have received a more professional response from the office manager who was very defensive. When I said I never had this experience with her predecessor, Brenda, she informed me that Brenda was no longer with company. It's too bad she didn't have Brenda's customer service skills. Ultimately, they said they would refund me for the extra cleaning charge.
Description of Work: Initially they did a full cleaning and then we scheduled bi-weekly service for 2010. The company asked about individual preferences so the cleaning was tailored to our needs. They set the price after the first 2-3 cleanings.

Although highly rated, Maid to Clean must not need any more business. I tried to contact them to provide a weekly cleaning for my 3000 sq. ft. home, but the never returned my two phone calls or the e-mail I sent through their website. It's been 3 weeks since I first contacted them, and I've heard nothing back. Needless to say, I won't use them, and I've discouraged two other friends who asked for housecleaning referrals.

I called to schedule a one time clean up after some renovations and luckily they were able to schedule me for the next day. They provided a price range based on the square footage of my apartment and my description of what I needed. They arrived right on time, got straight to work, and did a great job. Construction dust gets everywhere and I was really happy with how they managed to clean every corner. They worked fast, finishing up in an hour, so my final price was at the low end of the range I had been quoted.
Description of Work: I just had some renovation work done in my apartment and wanted someone to come clean everything up - there was dust everywhere. The space in question is relatively small, about 300 square feet. They cleaned floor to ceiling, even wiping down knick knacks I forgot to clear away during the construction. It took them about an hour.

The company was extremely professional when I set up the appointment, when they called in advance to confirm, and when they called after the fact to find out how the work went. The cleaning crew was very nice, very cheerful and very hard-working. The actual cleaning was less good, though. The apartments were, admittedly, quite dirty when the cleaners came, and looked good when they left, as long as you didn't look too closely. When I did look closely, though, I found food stuck on the kitchen wall between the counter and the top cabinets, soap scum on the bathtub spout, and a dirty refrigerator gasket. None of the light switches had been touched, and the over-the-stove microwave wasn't cleaned, although it was very sticky on the bottom and the filter was disgusting. And this is not an exhaustive list. I was hoping the company would be so good that I could use them for regular bi-weekly cleaning. Unfortunately not. In the interest of full disclosure, though, the company did offer to send the crew back when I told them about the problems. (I declined the offer.)
Description of Work: I hired Maid to Clean based on their ratings on Angie's List, to clean two basement apartments that were vacated on August 1, 2010. The task included a full top-to-bottom clean, that would leave the places ready for the next tenants to move into.

Excellent work -- the price seems a bit high but they really worked the full time -- the apartment was sparkeling when they left. I should note that the price was a bit higher as it was a first time appaoinment and the place reallly need the work. The next visit willl be far less. Plan to use them on a regular basis. Highly recommend them.

The quality of the cleaning was good, but not great, and got worse over time. The first visit was very impressive. After about 4 visits, the quality declined. And, the breakage began. Every visit something was broken, sometimes something small (a magnet, a small memento) or something large (the toilet paper holder, wedding pictures). Each time we received a very well meant apology, a discount, and a promise to do better. However, they were not able to stop the breakage. The last time I allowed them into my home they broke a picture, and then put the broken glass on our dining room table. They didn't call or warn us in any way, and we walked barefoot through the room with the broken glass. Fortunately no one was hurt, but I found it very irresponsible.

Following the initial, in-depth cleaning, I signed up for regular monthly cleanings online. After requesting the regular monthly service (weekly and twice monthly services are also available), I received an email from the owner asking me whether or not there were any special areas I wished for them to concentrate, the earliest time the crew could arrive and whether or not I would be home at that time to let them in. I opted to be there the first day to provide them with keys to use on for future service dates. The day of the cleaning, the crew of three arrived within 15 minutes of the earliest time I had designated. The team leader asked if there was anything needing special attention and confirmed that I was planning to give her the keys. All discussions were over in less than 5 minutes and I comfortably headed out the door. Upon returning home later that day, I found a sparkling clean home and a receipt for $109. The crew charges $30/hour per person and knowing how long it takes me to clean my apartment, the total price was very reasonable, taking into account that professionals would have an efficient system in place. I was particularly pleased with the cleaning of the bathroom floor which gets quite dirty and is difficult to clean as it is covered in small white tile with white grout.
Description of Work: Maid to Clean performed a routine monthly cleaning of my one-bedroom, one-bath, two-level, 900 s.f. apartment. This cleaning was preceded by an initial, in-depth cleaning that was somewhat more extensive. The cleaning did not include washing of windows or dishes but they did make the bed very neatly. It is my understanding that they would have changed the linens had I asked, though window and dishwashing is not part of their service. Maid to Clean uses vacuums with HEPA filters and eco-friendly cleaning products.

Prompt, professional and thorough cleaning of home. They gave an estimate before they arrived, and the total I was charged was very close to the estimate. When I noticed some areas behind the bathroom toilet and on the bathroom ceiling had been missed, the team was very quick to correct the oversight promptly and thoroughly. I was very pleased and would hire the company again.

The ladies worked very hard but not very thoughtfully; they roughly moved lots of things (including furniture) to clean but never put them back where they came from. Several pictures ended up hanging by the frames etc all out of kilter and parts were pulled out of some things and just left sitting on the counter. They broke a slat off one of the blinds (after I told them not to clean the blinds at all because they're so fragile), they PARTIALLY pulled cables out of the computer and electric cords from the wall in several rooms --meaning first I thought that they were broken and then had to crawl around to replug things in after they they left, and they made marks on the wall. Both beds had bedskirts which they completely tucked up under the mattress. When I pointed it out to the supervisor she helped me pull out part of one bedskirt and said that she would tell the ladies to fix it--after they left I found that no one had touched them. The other half of the bed she and I had worked on still had half the bedskirt tucked under the mattress and the second bed had the whole bedskirt tucked under the mattress (wrinkling them badly). They used some new material on the stainless steel refrigerator that left horrible stains that I cannot get out. And I thought that their vacuuming was very superficial. I speak Spanish and had no trouble communicating with the ladies or the supervisor (with whom I spoke in English). BUT I would have tolerated all of that, and had them come back regularly to clean (because I thought all these issues could be addressed and nobody is perfect) had they not the office staff acted so badly. I called and talked to Adrianne, explained that I wanted bi-weekly service and hoped they could work out the problems that I had experienced. She seemed very concerned, set up a appointment for two weeks in the future, and said she wanted to send out a supervisor before that. Then I heard nothing. When I called the day before the appointment nobody in the office knew what I was talking about and said they would have Adrianne call me when she came in--nothing. Finally I called them yet again and got Adrianne; she apologized for not sending out the promised supervisor or calling me back because they were short-staffed. But she also said that they don't clean in my area on the day she had promised but she could send someone the next week. Since I had guests coming in 48 hours that wasn't very helpful. None of this is a tragedy but given the great reviews I expected better. Nobody dies of a dirty house but I have no time to clean and now I have guests coming--arrgh. So I won't be dealing with these folks again.
Description of Work: They did an extensive initial clean; three ladies and a supervisor. They cleaned an 1,100 sq foot apartment in which I was the first tenant and which was not very dirty although I do have two cats. Unlike many other reviewers I don't think that their price was out-of-line for the amount of work that they did (although like everyone else I wish that they had been cheaper).

Fabulous. Based on the reviews on Angie's List and my very positive first meeting with Jay ( owner) I signed up for-bi-weekly service and have never looked back. My place sparkles and the crew ( it's been two months) have been reliable and very honest. The price is very competitive. In fact, I was paying the same price with a previous company which did not offer the same excellent service and reliability. I referred Maid to Clean to a friend and she has recently signed on as well.
Description of Work: The Maid To Clean crew provided a very thorough cleaning of my three level town home ( 2 BR, 3.5 baths) that included all bathrooms, bedrooms ( including making the bed), kitchen, hard wood floors, dusting and general tidying up.
