There is very little to say. A salesman came to the house and went over all the options. I chose the one I thought best for us. The technicians came a day or two later and installed the system and explained clearly its operation. They were excellent at their job and very nice to have in my home. The system was installed in early 2013. They have been back twice for change of season service and filter change. It is always a pleasant experience.

I have now signed up for an annual contract with ME Flow for our heating.air conditioning and plumbing. They earned it. We get reduced costs for any work we have done with the contract and I must believe priority response on their part, if possible. When I had problems with my air conditioner last summer they gave me a couple of alternatives for my husband and I to consider. After some research on the internet, we found their prices were fair and the advice they gave rang true. We went with them to replace our air conditioner and they will come inspect and service it annually. Then on January 9, 2014, while home, we had a pipe freeze and burst. Needless to say we were not the only ones with emergencies! They promised they would send out a plumber as soon as they were able. Meanwhile we had turned off the heater, as directed, as the pipe was in the same area where the heater and air conditioner were housed in the basement! A plumber came that same night at 9:00pm and fixed it with his smile and sense of humor intact though he was exhausted! Finally, I find that calling the office the employees are pleasant and responsive. I just wish they dealt with electricity!

Lost heat - ME Flow came right out . Needed to order a part. Second technician tried to add on to job. All in all and aside from the price which was high, they completed the job. I would use them again. However, my only concern is that the techs are not on the same page,. This leaves an uncomfortable feeling.

My heat went out on 2/16. That was a Saturday, and I called them 2-3 times before someone called me back. But he worked in the plumbing division. The technician called me Sunday AM and came out that afternoon. He said the problem was due to the fact that my humidifier, which they had installed 15 months ago, had leaked and shorted out the circuit board on the furnace. He did not have the right circuit board but did a work-around and replaced the pad in the humidifier. The circuit board would cost $600. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday I called to speak to a supervisor to see why I should pay for that when the problem was caused by a new humidifier that could have been placed so that if it leaked it would not go into the furnace. A supervisor called me back on Thursday and said they would not charge me for the circuit board, and it was installed that afternoon. I was satisfied with that decision.

This was an emergency service. I returned home from a trip and found the house cold and the furnace putting out cold air. Since I have an annual maintenance contract with M. E. Flow, they sent a technician right away. The heat exchanger had failed and due to the age of the furnace, the exchanger was not reparable. M. E. Flow scheduled a new furnace installation for Dec 31. The installer came as scheduled in the morning and worked all day until the new furnace was installed and working. He removed the old furnace and hauled it away. The installer finished around 5 PM. | |I have used M. E. Flow for about 25 years for all HVAC services including semi-annual inspections and water heater servicing. They are always professional and seem to quickly diagnose and repair problems.

My first experience with ME Flow was in March of 2013 when they were the only company when I called others, to have someone on duty on a Saturday. It was because I had no heat and was going out of town later that day. I ended up signing a 1 year contract with them. Came out later in June to check my air conditioner, as part of the yearly contract. Cleaned the filter for additional charge, and was pleased with their service.

Rodney Baker the Service Manager called and discussed putting in a variety of HVAC options for the home. Totally courteous knowledgeable professional who take pride in their work and it shows!!
Description of Work: Jason came out to install radiators. Realized we still needed to put in walls and educated me on that should be done first. He installed new handles on the hot water pipes and moved them so that they would not be in the way.

They came out right away on a saturday. Luckily the repair was very minor and easy fix. The service was great and quick. They were very responsive and contacted me right away. One of the few companies I found that has regular weekend service.

ME Flow failed to properly set my expectations, were un-apologetic, were unprofessional, and failed to timely notify me of delays. ME Flow has lost all possible business from me. I made an appointment to get a written estimate on large amount of work needed for a basement remodel. My appointment was a window from 8 to noon for a service technician, which I thought was weird since I called for an estimate. Each of the other 3 companies from Angie's List I called was sending a professional estimator and gave me an exact time. The day came and after waiting until 11:30 I called ME Flow to ask why I have not heard anything. The gentleman I spoke to saw my four hour window in their system and said that technician was 'probably' running late. I asked when the technician would arrive and was told they do not contact technicians at client visits, so the arrival time was unknown. I then told them that they had wasted 3 1/2 hours of my time and that if the technician did not arrive within my window I would be leaving poor feedback on Angie's list. The gentlemen on the line said okay, so then ended my call. At 11:41 I received a call from ME Flow in which they told me that my technician was running behind, and I quotde the lady on the phone "the technician would probably arrive around 12:30". I said that was not acceptable to me as I had already waited 3 hours and 45 minutes, and that I would be submitting poor feedback to Angie's list. She then gave me multiple excuses such as weather, unexpected circumstances, and it is tough running a business. She asked where I worked and tried to make me feel guilty and that is was my fault by asking if unexpected and bad things happen at my work. She and the previous gentlemen never apologized and never offered another alternative. She would not even let me speak on the phone, but rather just kept cutting me off. She then just hung up on me. They were both unprofessional. If I acted in the same manner at my work, my boss would have fired me immediately. They have lost what was a large piece of business.

The first call for help was placed on Sunday morning 2-16-14 around 11:00am. Within 45 minutes, a technician had arrived at my home in Fairfax, having been dispatched from Woodbridge. When he turned up, I apologized for dragging him out on a Sunday and noted that I was also thankful that he was able to navigate through the massive snowfall from a couple of days earlier. The technician then spent more than hour attempting to diagnose the problem but was unable to find anything specific. When he departed (having charged only $97.95 for the house call), the furnace seemed to be operating normally. Within a day, however, the intermittent problem returned. A second call was placed to ME Flow on 2-18-14 and the same technician was dispatched (note that I received a call from the dispatcher, as per usual with ME Flow, to let me know that the tech was en-route). After another hour of diagnosis, and having ruled out several possible causes, the technician identified the component (the ignition controller) that he believed was creating the intermittent failures. Because the component still functioned sometimes, however, he couldn't be entirely certain. After submitting a quote to replace the suspect component (which would need to be special ordered), the tech departed with the furnace once again appearing to work normally. Note also that there was no additional charged for this second house call; it was considered to be a free follow-up to the previous visit two days earlier. After another few days of intermittent problems and following a fair bit of web research, I concluded that the ME Flow tech was probably right about the ignition controller. Because it's an easy part to replace, I decided to order the component online and install it myself to save a few dollars. Despite the fact the ME Flow was not able to conclusively pinpoint the problem (always difficult with intermittent failures), I feel I received the same great service as always from the company. My family has used ME Flow for almost three decades and have been continually impressed with the competence and professionalism of their people.
Description of Work: Performed diagnostics on a Lennox gas furnace (under maintenance contract with ME Flow) that was operating erratically. Sometimes it would light, other times not.

I called a couple of weeks in advance to set up the plumber's visit to the house. Because I had a previous relationship with ME Flow (my husband had set up a maintenance schedule with them before he died 20 months ago, and I had given them the job of providing and installing a new AC unit this winter -- even after they were not the low bidder, I asked them if they wanted to lower their bid JUST BECAUSE of the previous relationship and, of course, they did), I thought they would give me a fair price for the job of repairing two toilets that were running. The plumber arrived on time and spent about 1/2 hour doing the work. He was a very nice young man. When he told me that the cost would be $400, I thought briefly of just letting him go, but I figured that I would have to pay at least for the cost of his coming out to the house, so I just decided to let him go ahead and do the work. If the total cost had been $200, I wouldn't have choked on the figure, but $400 is a bit extreme!! I think $50 for coming to the house and $50 for the plumber's 1/2 hour and $50 for parts would have been just about right. I won't do that again. I hope nobody else does it ever!!

M.E. Flow has been our HVAC repair/maintenance company for about 8 years. Very professional, we have a maintenance contract that covers 2 HVAC maintenance inspections per year. They have also installed and maintained an April air humidifier. Leakage problem with humidifier was due to high water pressure and has been addressed.

The manuals did not match up. The model numbers were different. At that time I tried to tell them it was incorrect. They basically do not care about this issue. Their sales rep had put down that this was a two-stage furnace. It was their installation tech that wrote down the wrong numbers. The sales rep has since left the company. Right now it is not a big problem, but in 10 years time when I am at the end of the warranty, and the model numbers are not correct I think it is going to be a big problem then.

As he explained, our vendor had actually tagged the box incorrectly with the wrong model number while the model number on the unit is correct. Craig has spoken to the vendor and verified that they have the correct information in their warranty database, so any future warranty work shouldn’t be a problem. Additionally, we’ve extended the M.E. Flow Energy Savings Agreement (ESA), which provides your semi-annual checkups and preventative maintenance, for an extra year at no additional charge. What a superb experience! Here's our story. Having had a couple of less than optimal experiences with contractors, we decided to invest in finding someone truly spectacular. Our first criteria: Only contractors with an A rating on Angie's list and at least 20 reviews. Second screening: We called a bunch with an initial screen. Are you licensed, bonded and insured? Can you provide us proof of your insurance? Do you charge a fee for coming to the house? Will you pull a permit? Most disqualified themselves with the service charge for the initial visit, including ME Flow. But then an ME Flow manager called us back, saying he (and several others in the company) had reviewed the recording of my conversation, and that they would be happy to come out for free. They were also providing further training to the operator to make sure she can better handle calls such as mine. My husband and I were impressed. We were talking to someone who really cared! And the company had a systems improvement process in place. Wow - we'd never seen that before in the home contracting world. They came out (as did 2 others). Rodney - the supervisor was very personable and we felt high integrity. He did not try to oversell us what we didn't need (like one contractor who said we needed a new boiler for just $17,000), but he also caught some small but important things that the other 2 providers did not. ME Flow provided a very reasonable proposal (slightly lower than the next lowest bid). Simple. Straightforward. No loopholes for lots of extra add ons (like another proposal that came in). We accepted, scheduled the work, and they came right on time. First Rodney to set us up, then Jason who did most of the work, and another guy who supported them. My husband kept commenting on how well they cleaned up as they worked, actually mopping our bathroom! They finished up right on time, and the work looked beautiful. We paid then (not in advance - like another proposal wanted us to do), and there were 0 additional fees. We got a call a couple days later asking if everything was going ok, and we let them know we were nice and toasty through the snowstorm. They said they would come out in the next couple days to make sure everything was working properly, but then we didn't hear from them. We got an email a few weeks later apologizing for losing touch, and letting us know they had gotten busy with the snowstorm and wanted to schedule to come out. They came, checked everything out, and finalized a few touches. Our county inspector came this week and we passed. ME Flow's execution was almost flawless, and they addressed the couple small errors in a wonderful, customer service focused manner that gave us great confidence not just in their work but also in their company.

We have used ME flow 4 times in 2013 and have been happy with them. I will say that the even in the same company you can get a technician that offers a diagnosis that runs in the thousands to one that does a simple adjustment that fixes the problem. I like the company but i take the technicians words with a grain of salt.
Description of Work: We had placed a call on a duel fuel system on the main level. This was the second time the unit failed to give us heat the first time ME flow was called for the same problem and really could not give me a answer as to why the gas heat was not working the second time a tech from ME flow came he fixed the problem. He noticed that the igniter was not in the correct position to ignite the gas he adjusted it and we have not had a problem since.

Woke up Sunday morning and had NO Heat. Placed an emergency call about 7:00 am to the after hour number. Was assured we would get a call back shortly. Fabian called us back and arrived at our home @7.55 am. We told Fabian that the furnace was taking a while to turn on the day before. Fabian went to garage where the furnace is housed and went to work. Maybe, 15 minutes later he came in to tell us we had problem with the Spark Module. He also added that might lead to other issues once he got the furnace to ignite. However, we were lucky and that was the issue. He inspected the unit for other issues to make sure everything else was working fine and it was. The repair took about an hour in total. Our furnace was installed by ME Flow in 1994 and we have an annual contract as well for spring and winter check-ups. I guess that's why we have a 20 year old furnace that's still working. Yes, we have had minor repairs and have had to replace some parts, but nothing major. Just normal maintenance with any major appliance. Fabian was very professional, polite, knowledgeable and spoke with confidence about his products. He has performed a few of our annual check-ups and after this visit, we will specifically ask for him for all of our furnace needs.

M.E. Flow installed a new ductless wall-mounted heat pump in my loft. It was expensive, but I obtained comparative bids and they were right in line, and they obtained muuch better extended sevice and equipment warranties for me. The Manager Joe Allen was very professional and his crew were very thorough and respectful of my home. They cleaned up after themselves very nicely, which I particularly appreciated. I will be using them again for a small dehimidifier installation job, and have contracted with them for a service warranty on my main HVAC system.

John, Jesus, and Richard from M.E. Flow are first class. John was excellent in going over my options for systems and helping me select the right one with the right options for my house. I went with an American Standard heat pump and air handler with a variable speed blower to give better air flow to the upper floors of my townhouse. Within a week Jesus and Richard came out to install the new system. They did an EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT job. On time, exceptional quality, friendly, and they work HARD and CARE. They showed me the ropes of the new system and even hooked the NEST thermostat that I had purchased. The new system is so much more quiet and efficient. It's a little thing, but here's an example of the quality work they did... the PVC work they did for the drain pipe for the air handler was awesome - it totally opened up the space in our utility room. The new pipe work hugs the wall of our utility room leading to the drain - the previous plumbing cut right through the middle of it. Great group of guys and I can't recommend them enough!
Description of Work: My heat pump finally bit the dust after 14 years. The crew from M.E. Flow installed a new heat pump, air handler, and nest thermostat for me.
