My experience with Len The Plumber has been extremely disappointing and I will never use their services again! In November 2023, Len the Plumber replaced a natural gas water heater of which (according to Len The Plumber) required a county permit, inspection, and approval. Len The Plumber secured the permit and scheduled the inspection; however, the installation of the water heater did not pass the county’s inspection. When I contacted Len the Plumber (Lauren) to get a status report, I was told that someone would get back to me. As of today, no one from has gotten back to me and when I call the office no one answers the phone. I wish there was a way that I could give them no stars.

This is a horrible plumber. First the plumber they sent overcharged me by almost $300 dollars, for a total cost of almost $800 dollars for drain cleaning. After this, the drain was still not functioning correctly, and grew progressively worse as weeks went by. When I reached out to the facility to have them finish the job they did not complete the first time, they asked me to pay full price for the service again. Find somewhere else to go, this place is awful.

Problem:Flame in the water heater went out and water heater was not working. We called Len the plumber and got the appointment. We were told that initial fee is 49 bucks for the technician to come and have a look. Technician came and within a minute did a reset and it started working. Issue: Asked to pay 317 bucks for 30 seconds of work which was extreme. We did complain that it's too much and he didn't even tell us the quote. And there was no external part change or he didn't even open any part. At the end, he called the company and the company folks told to not charge. Out of good will we gave 50 bucks to the technician.

They charged a flat fee of $ 402 minus the 60 dollars internet discount as a flat fee. It was discovered during the process of " snaking" the outflow pipe from the sink that the peat trap was partially occluded with calcium deposits. They stated it would cost another $ 200 to replace the pea trap. The cost is only about $ 10 for the party at the maximum with no additional labour or time involved. I declined to have it replaced and later talked with the manager. I was told that they would not send another plumber to repack a $ 10 part and would refund $ 60 .( Which he explained he did not have to). The service is outrageously expensive and follow through worse.

The work went very well. I don't remember the plumber's name except that he was a "master plumber". He was professional in all respects. As he checked out the piping under the sink, he took pictures of the situation. He was able to show us and explain to us what had been going on and what was likely to happen if the situation was not corrected. He showed us the deterioration in the pieces that needed to be replaced, showed great patience again in explaining to us what had happened, He was friendly and professional in the work and the clean up that was needed. He also noticed a small problem with the toilet in the bathroom he was working in and gave us a heads up on what would need to be replaced in the near future. We will definitely use the services of this plumbing company again.
Description of Work: There had been a small leak under the bathroom sink for a period of time. It seemed that the leak was slowly getting worse. I called Len the Plumber and a service man came out to the house the next day.

They said the drainpipes were cleared and charged me $748. They wanted a check immediately, but I did not want to pay them until I knew they had solved the problem. The next morning their own company put a camera down the drain ( as a free service) to show me that they had performed the work and the clogged drains had been cleared. The camera showed that the drain was clogged and the pipes were full of backlogged water. The camera guy said I must have a broken drainpipe. The snake guy came back out and said there was either a broken pipe or the sewer tank was full and could take no more sewage. The snake man again demanded payment because he said he had eliminated the clog and therefore done his job. The camera guy said it must be a broken drainpipe, maybe caused by freezing. So there I am, with a non-functioning sewer system and the company Rep said they had done their job, that is they had unclogged the drain even though it was not draining. Agaist my better judgment I broke down and paid them the $748. I then called another company and explained my dilemma. They agreed to come right out and try to solve the problem. They arrived that same day and determined that the drainpipe was clogged and they unclogged it. I now had a functioning sewer system again. The Len the Plumber had worked on it, I believe on 20 and 21 November 2019 and the second company came out and fixed it on the afternoon of 21 November. I emailed the Len company on Saturday 23 November and asked for my $748 back. On Monday 25 November I called the Len company and a few hours later a lady called back, perhaps named Erin, and seemed not to understand the problem. She referred to the drain pipe"going to the street" ( we have no pipe going to the street, it goes to the drainfield). She also said that maybe the drainpipe at the toilet was broke, even though she had declared earlier that the snake guy had snaked the pipe for 50 feet BEYOND the toilet. At that point because of her seeming lack of plumber knowledge I asked her if she was a plumber. She seemed to take umbrage at this. She wanted me to send her a copy of the invoice of the second company and I suggested she call them instead. She did not want to do that and I reminded her that they had demanded instant payment, before I knew that their efforts were unsatisfactory, so I was demanding an immediate refund in the same spirit. At this point she hung up on me.

We were searching for a plumber to hook up a new bar sink in our basement. To save you reading the whole review if you don't want the details, here is the bottom line: Len the Plumber quoted us $1,875 for a job that another plumber did for $825. If you want the details, here they are. Representative arrived around 6pm as expected. He was very pleasant, friendly, and professional. We have no issues with the service representative. When we called to make the appointment, we were told there was a chance that the job could be done that evening. When the technician arrived and looked at the job, he said it was a "couple of hours" of work and didn't want to get started at 6pm. That was totally fine with us. The job itself was to run new supply lines and a new drain line to a new sink that we had already installed in a countertop in our basement. The new sink was against a wall that opened into a closet where existing supply lines and a drain line were present. Very easy access to all of the existing plumbing, and easy access to both sides of the wall where the new lines needed to be run. The distance from the existing plumbing to the new sink is only a few feet. It probably would be less than 20 feet total of new supply line that needed to be run (10 each for hot/cold). After checking out the scene, the technician went to his truck to work up an estimate. When he returned to the house, he said it would be "eighteen seventy-five" to do the job. My mind took several seconds to digest what he had just said. Here is my best recollection of the dialog that followed: Me: You mean ONE THOUSAND, EIGHT HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-FIVE dollars? Him: Yes Me: You said it was a "couple hour" job - what is your hourly labor rate? $500 per hour? Him: That's a flat fee for the whole job. We can't break out labor and supply costs. What were you hoping to pay? Me: I'm hoping to pay as little as needed to get the job done. How can you possibly justify that amount? Him: It's just what it costs. If you call any of our competitors - F H Furr, Michael and Sons, they are going to charge the same amount. Me: That's insane for a small job. Him: Let me talk to my manager and see if we can lower the price. Me: You're going to have to lower it by half for me to even consider it. Him: We can't lower it by half, but let me see what I can do. (goes to truck for a call with his manager, and returns) Him: We can take $200 off that price. Me: No way. Have a nice day. ----- Unbelievable. I've literally had far better experiences with buying used cars. No way we'll ever call Len the Plumber again. Once again, we had no concerns whatsoever with the service technician that came to the house. He was just at the mercy of his bosses who were trying to squeeze us for as much as they thought they could get us to pay, regardless of the actual amount of labor or supplies to do the job.

The technician postponed the appointed visit (3-hour slot) from one day to the next day. The next day postponed again the appointed time slot to later in the day. Upon calling the company looking for him later in the day somebody came, saw the task, charged between $160-$260 to rebuild the "architecture" of the tank. We declined, but had to pay him $49 for the visit. The next day we call another agents through our insurance, who came right away, changed the flusher within 10 minutes. Charge: $91 (flusher included).

Do not recommend them as they are clearly a franchise with inept schedulers. Over the years, I have been much more satisfied with individually or family owned small business owners. When I initially called, I told them the specific problem related to our geothermal and they said they could do the work which I understood to be the same day in afternoon ... as advertised and as told. When the window for them to come came and I called to check to see if someone coming, they said the scheduler had scheduled them for the following afternoon. I said I need it sooner and they said they could come in the morning between 8-12 the next day ... Friday - also mentioned it was for geothermal again. I called Friday morning at 8 to ensure someone was coming out sooner vs. later as the AC no longer working and under a heat advisory. The scheduler said since they were already scheduled should be one of first visits and that they would call before coming. About 30 minutes later, I got a call from the dispatcher saying they do not work on geothermal and would have to call someone else.

Here is how my dream of finally purchasing my 1st home turned into a NIGHTMARE experience because of Len the Plumber. I called them for a simple fix of a leaking pipe before we moved into our home. 4 days after we moved in I came home to find my home FLOODED due to a pipe they did not secure properly. The plumber told us it was their fault and they will pay to fix our home. After many days of sleeping in my office we finally called Len The Plumber back who told me I needed to file with my insurance company. We were HOMELESS FOR 3 DAYS and currently 20 days after the flood still have nothing accomplished!! We are currently paying for the damage that they did which is estimated at over $100,000. Yes that is correct, $100,00. We have asked for a refund and as of today, 20 days after our home was flooded they will not pay for the damages they caused nor will they even refund us for the service that they did not correctly provide. My best advice STAY FAR FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! They suck!! And on top of that their manage, Rich Grimes, is the most worthless manager I have ever had to deal with. Slimey, slimey company who will screw over every customer they can. STAY AWAY!!!

Technician arrived very quickly which was great. He had to snake the main line and said it was cleared all the way from the house to the street. Problem was that the toilet was so backed up with sewage and toilet paper that the snake was turning on itself (said the technician). He gave me a business card for a company to clean all the mess in our basement bathroom. I was told that after the sewage was cleaned from the toilet that all would be fine. Was charged $495 but had a $99 coupon from website so I paid $396. I asked the technician about installing a new toilet that I have already bought that was sitting in the basement. He told me it would cost $489 to install my toilet. Crazy! He said the cost to buy a new toilet and have him install it would be $520. Told him to forget it. He told me that someone else from the company would be over the next day to check the line with the camera. That technician told me everything was clear and after the toilet is cleaned all should be fine. The cleaning company came and cleaned and sterilized the bathroom (cost was $900). The toilet is still blocked. Called Len the Plumber they won’t try and snake the toilet again. Original technician called me back and said that I need a new toilet because there is a hard blockage in mine. Isn’t there job to clear the blockage? Price would be acceptable if they had completed the job. The toilet is unusable and I still have to hire another plumber.

I called Len the Plumber on September 27th. They scheduled for that afternoon and the technician arrived on time. Good Start - however that would be the end of the good news. I had two tasks - repair the line so that the flow would be improved (Which was NOT Fixed) and install a new fill valve. I supplied all the parts. Nelson, the technician convinces me that the line replacement will be Very complex and difficult and that would cost $353 dollars and to replace the fill valve would cost $228 - with a little discount the total came to $516. The whole job (Labor only) was done in 85 minutes - generously giving saying that the job was an hour and a half works out to a labor rate of $344 per hour! The technician did NOT report that he broke the bottom of the vanity - he did move the break so that it was less obvious (which my wife spotted immediately. I contact Mr. D. Gordon, the manager on Monday and he stated that he would talk to the powers that be and make things right. I Did not hear from him for over a month and sent an email on October 30th. No reply on that either. They are rip off artists (GROSSLY Overcharging) and dishonest about damage and cannot be trusted to their word! Stay away from Len the Plumber!

My experience with Len The Plumber is a rip off. They charged me $2,863 including parts that are most likely less than $200 (3 outdoor hose bibs, some PVC pipes, a well pressure switch). The technician was polite and fixed the problem. But they basically charged about $2,600 for labor to finish three tasks. It took 6hrs including time for the technician to purchase parts at a store. Also, each task was not a complex job that requires heavy equipment at all. For example, they charged $400 for replacing each outdoor hose bib. I briefly spoke with a division manager at Len The Plumber. When I was trying to explain why it is not fair to me, he said "Don't lecture me. What do you want? Do you just want to pay for the parts?". I told him that he is not the right person to discuss and stopped the conversation. I'll NEVER use them again!!!

The customer service representative mentioned the initial standard fee of $49 regardless of work is done. But he also mentioned the technician will assess the issue and if I agree of the work to be done that it'd be included in the total price which was fair. But from what I realized, they could have easily given you a quote for a simple residential work. The technician just came in looked at it and took his ipad and showed me how much I'm paying. Let's say that's your slick way of doing business and I'll give you a pass. And by the way, the issue I'd was "area way drain clogged" for a small residential home in DC. But what disappointed very much was the attitude of the technician who doesn't want to respond whenever you ask a question. Then name of the technician or plumber is Juan Morgan. You just have to let him do (not do) whatever he does, pay whatever he asks, don't ask question and let him leave. He charged me $302 just for snaking to tell me that I may have a trap broken. And gave me a couple of options, both worth around $3500. I do respect his technical opinion and feedback. But when I asked to at least clean up the debris he pulled out of the pipe while snaking, he said "NO, WE DON'T DO THAT" and left. I was amazed of his response, I just didn't know what to say. He just threw the drain cap with debris on it and just left. He didn't even place the cap properly, he literally threw it to the hole while was standing. I'm not complaining about the charge, which is basically high for a job that took around half an hour. But you should at least clean up around the area what you pulled out so that it doesn't get washed in. So, send someone that loves his job and friendly enough to communicate with the client as the job you do is inexpensive for the average family. Getting a receipt through email with a description that says "this job has no warranty" is a little bit shady too. If it's supposed to be a fine print, then put it down on your website (or Angie's List where I found you) or even mention it orally. With that said, I would recommend for people to go to Craigslist or any similar website and try their luck. I'm sure that'd save you some $$ and respect. At least the genuine ones on there work for themselves, so they will do anything to make both of you happy. Thank you for your service... OR NOT!

I had a water heater failure and called my home warranty, the plumber they sent came 12 hours later and said the fix would take a week. That night I sent an email appointment request for Len the Plumber. Amazingly they called within 30 min and I had an appt for first thing the next morning. The best part was at 08:00 sharp Mark Martin showed up, assessed my situation, gave a very reasonable quote and replaced my water heater within 4 hours. I cannot day enough about Mark, total pro and he explained everything, a pleasure to work with. I won’t go anywhere else for future plumbing issues and have save Mark’s number on speed dial for a by name request the next time I call Len the plumber!

I had to setup this job remotely. Plumber arrived promptly same day and evaluated the issue. Then said it would cost $209 to auger the toilet. I was hesitant at this price b/c I knew it would only cost me 20 minutes to do this myself. The price tag seemed a little high. I was not able to get there to do it myself so resigned myself to paying $209. Work was done quickly and toilet seemed to work. We had a bit of a debate over some accounting issue on their side where I had already paid them $49 for the service call and that should have been applied to the $209 total. The plumber was asking me to pay another $247 and they would then refund me the $49 I already paid. The math wasn’t adding up so after some back and forth we split the difference. Anyways just be careful about how you pay them if you use this provider.

I was satisfied with the quality of work performed by the technician but very disappointed with the service manager. When the work was performed the bill presented was rolled up into one price ($1800). Even though I agreed to the price, I had asked for an itemized bill in order to understand how the cost was derived. I had submitted the request in email and then followed up with 2 phone calls to the company. Each time receiving assurances that the request was being fulfilled. After receiving no response, I made a 3rd call asking for the service manager. She indicated that the company does not provide that granularity of service cost but would send something to describe some of the costs associated with the price. Several weeks later I still have received nothing. Furthermore, I no longer expect that they will comply with my request. I can only surmise that this policy is in place to hide justification for the high service cost. Subsequent pricing for performing the same work was about half of what Len the Plumber charged me. Since I have not been given a basis for the high cost, my only conclusion is that Len the Plumber did not charge me a fair price for the services performed. As a result I will be more selective when choosing a plumbing contractor in the future.

I called this company for the first time, with an emergency situation, on a Sunday. The phone customer service team was great. Within two hours, a technician was at my door to assist. The plumber who came, Anthony, was superb! He was courteous, incredibly professional, and calm. He checked out the situation, told me exactly what needed to be done, quoted an affordable price, and he fixed the problem. He had all of the equipment and parts on hand needed for the service, cleaned up the area when he was done, and took the time to educate on maintenance/preventive tips for the future. I would highly recommend this company and technician.
