The plumber that cam listened to my complaint and got the pipe open. It took work but he did a great job. Would recommend this company.

I’m very pleased with Kramer & Sons. We had a worrisome knocking sound when we’d run water, plus there was a clog in a bathroom sink that was impervious to Drano & plunging. Kramer & Sons were the first company to reach out to me after I put my project request on Angi. I liked that. I requested a certain day, and was able to get it. I liked that, too. Rene was on time, very nice, explained what he was looking for, what he was doing, cleaned up very well after the work was done. The clog was hair in a clump the size of a rat. (Drano was scared of that thing! )The knocking was a valve that was too tight. Rene was very reassuring that the knocking wasn’t cause for worry because there was no leaking, no water damage, no mold. He was at my house for about 90 minutes and fixed the issues. Very satisfied.

Quick and efficient. Got right to work and fixed the problem in just over an hour. Was very pleased. No hassle and wore coverings over his shoes and wore his mask. Very Professional. Would recommend again.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. The company charges 259 extra to cut into drywall and does not include that in the cost of the repairs. I was first told the cost of the job was 818, then over $1,000 after this cost was not rolled in. A company agent said that the tech should have offered to have me cut it myself. He did not. She then accused me of quoting the overcharge wrong when I was estimating. The size of the cut in the wall was small and took less than 2 minutes. DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE TAKE YOUR MONEY.

Very well. However, the cost was a bit pricey but I needed to have the work done. The technician arrived on-time and did a fantastic job! If you don't mind paying a bit more, they do a great job!

I have a Sewer Line Repair and Water Line Replacement Service Contract with HomeServe. After my water line was replaced under that contract in July 2019, there was some major settling in the yard, almost to the point where I thought there would be a sinkhole under the sidewalk. I called HomeServe (who also were great and responsive) who sent out Kramer & Sons to check the area, scope the sewer line to see if that was the issue, and to check to see if a water line leak was the cause. Holly at Kramer and Sons called me back and got things scheduled. She was efficient, knowledgeable, personable and funny! The good kind of funny. :-) She let me know what would happen and when. My scheduled window was 7:30-8:30am. Hurrah for small windows! At 7:28am I got an email letting me know that someone from Kramer & Sons was on their way. There was a live tracker that estimated their arrival time of 7:52am. The tracker seemed a bit off, looking like they were stuck in Springfield (there was bad traffic there), but they made it here by 8:02am. Juan and Reggie showed up and got right to work. After coordinating with HomeServe, they ran a video camera through the sewer line and found that it was not straight -- it had shifted up in one section by 1-2", causing a backup in the line. Additionally they found that the water line replacement backfill had not been done properly and was causing the depressions in my yard and sidewalk. Juan did a great job of walking me through all the issues and they are reporting their findings back to HomeServe. I was thrilled with the work they did and how they did it. Since this work was done under a service contract, I'm not sure how much it would have cost me out of pocket. But their communication and workmanship gave me a lot of trust in Kramer and Sons to the point where I'd call them again for an out-of-pocket job. Several reviews say that their pricing is high. While I can understand that, getting a job done right and well has a lot of value. There's not only the cost of the people who are doing the work, but their knowledge and know-how, the cost of gas and the truck, truck insurance, business and liability insurance, etc. This story sums up my thinking. In the early years of this century (1900s), Charles Steinmetz, a pioneering electrical engineer, was brought to GE's facilities in Schenectady, New York. GE had encountered a performance problem with one of their huge electrical generators and had been absolutely unable to correct it. Steinmetz, a genius in his understanding of electromagnetic phenomena, was brought in as a consultant -- not a very common occurrence in those days, as it would be now. Steinmetz also found the problem difficult to diagnose, but for some days he closeted himself with the generator, its engineering drawings, paper and pencil. At the end of this period, he emerged, confident that he knew how to correct the problem. After he departed, GE's engineers found a large "X" marked with chalk on the side of the generator casing. There also was a note instructing them to cut the casing open at that location and remove so many turns of wire from the stator. The generator would then function properly. And indeed it did. Steinmetz was asked what his fee would be. Having no idea in the world what was appropriate, he replied with the absolutely unheard of answer that his fee was $1000. Stunned, the GE bureaucracy then required him to submit a formally itemized invoice. They soon received it. It included two items: 1. Marking chalk "X" on side of generator: $1. 2. Knowing where to mark chalk "X": $999. Kramer and Sons knows a lot of things about plumbing. You don't. Pay them for their years of experience and good business practices. While it may feel like a lot, even if they fix your problem in 5 minutes, it would take you years to know what to do, what parts to get, and how to repair it properly and meet code, as well as thousands more for the insurance to cover you if you screw it up.

Kramer and Sons has always provided reliable work. Their workers are always knowledgeable, friendly, and on time.

Work was completed in a timely and professional manner. Plumber kept me fully informed and answered my various questions. He checked out all the possible leak points, and then double checked them after fixing the toilet seal. I'd gladly have them work again in my home.

Diagnosed as water treatment equipment malfunction. Need another company (Water Treatment) to resolve.

The problem was diagnosed, we agreed on the fix and price. My drain works much better. Did a little more work, replaced insulation, than I expected. He was willing to come out Christmas Day but I declined.

I spoke to one of the owners and he asked me to send pictures of the fixture that needed replacement as they don't keep items in stock. It made sense and I was happy he was willing to help me save an extra trip fee. I sent him pictures but he never called me back. I've followed up a couple times and I have never heard back. Its disappointing because their reviews are really high and I was hoping to get a good plumbing technician to fix this.

I would not recommend this company for mini-split AC repair. My mini split was leaking water inside the house. After 3 visits and $1,000 spent on repairs the unit is still not fixed. I don't believe the technicians that were sent to me have the training or the competence to fix mini-split systems. They expressed frustration with mini-splits, stating they don't like them. They could never diagnose the problem and without diagnosing the problem you can't fix the system. Also, before the 3rd visit I called and asked to speak to a technical manager so I could fully explain the issue. The receptionist refused to transfer me. Instead, she explained she has experience with mini-splits and directed what the next step should be. That step included cleaning and servicing the outside unit. I tried to convey to her that the inside unit--not the outside unit--was the one leaking. She insisted that cleaning and servicing the outside unit would slow the condensation/leaking inside. Again, this is an example of trying to fix a problem when it is STILL NOT DIAGNOSED. Needless to say, the outdoor service did not work. After 3 visits I called a competitor that specializes in HVAC repair and installation. They diagnosed the exact cause of the leaking within 10 minutes. I have now retained their services for repairing the unit and will continue to use them in the future.

I am a relatively new homeowner that grew up in a home where we did work ourselves. I unfortunately don't have the time/energy to do everything myself anymore, and am learning about the costs of basic service. I provide that as a disclaimer because I may just simply be ignorant of the market. I will start by saying that I have zero issues with the service I received. The booking was easy and flexible, the plumber was prompt and professional. I am just floored by the cost of the service I received, which was something I consider to be very basic (replacement of a 12" section of pipe feeding a second floor bathroom, so in the ceiling of the main floor) and something I will absolutely be doing myself in the future now that I know the cost. Here's the breakdown: $59 just to show up. $275 to cut an 18" square hole in my drywall ceiling. $409 to cut out the old pipe (which had two pinhole leaks) and solder in a new section. I negotiated a "discount" of the $59 service fee, so my all-in cost ended up being $684. The work was completed in just over an hour. So by my, estimation, I just paid about $650/hour for labor ($34 seems generous for parts, 12" of copper pipe, two fittings, some flux, and about 3 minutes worth of propane). At a minimum, if this happens again, I will absolutely take the 5 minutes to open the ceiling myself to expose the pipe. $275 to cut a hole in drywall is just absurdly expensive. $409 to sweat the pipe ( I believe this price holds up to 5') seems expensive as well, but there's some technique involved here and it's the part I was unwilling to do myself so I can live with it. I hope others find this helpful.

I had a slow leak on my main line - it should have been a fairly straightforward fix and it was only about an hour of labor. However, after examining the issue, the technician told me the fix would be $750. I had to press him what exactly what he was going to do and how he came to that price. He explained that he had to replace the entire connector because it was no longer manufactured (okay, I understand that) and he was going to replace the valve while he was at it. When I asked why he was going to replace the valve since it had nothing to do with the issue at hand, I got a song-and-dance about how this was a great opportunity to have it done and it was only adding $80 to the total price of the work. The total price was calculated because "that's what the book said it would cost." He could not tell me how much parts or labor were; "that's just how we do things." On the positive side, the gentleman I spoke with on the phone was incredible friendly and was able to schedule someone to my house right away.

Not good. Before the plummer started, I showed him the identical faucet that was installed and working properly on a different vanity. I pointed out the stopper valve because it was regularly not installed properly. Once finished, I did not accept, the stopper valve was not installed properly. He argued that the newer model was different, I didn't agree. I told him he needed to fix the problem. He told me the stopper worked, he did not want to reinstall. I told him he needed to, he said "I will have to reinstall" I said yes, you need to do the work properly. His attitude was not appreciated and was not professional towards me one bit! Once reinstalled (after hearing him banging around), I accepted the faucet. The stopper value was now installed correctly. That afternoon, I called Kramer and Sons and spoke with Seth (manager?owner?). Seth sounded very concerned, apologetic; however he did say that they had been really busy that few days with the cold weather and the staff was working OT - who cares? I also mentioned the price was high. I gave Seth the model number of the faucet, he said he had never installed that model. He told me he would speak with the technician and look over the paperwork when the technician got back to the office Seth told me he wanted to come out to the house and inspect the faucet and that he would call me back to go over and set a time to come to my house. Seth has never called me back. I later noticed that the plumber did not do a professional job with the installation. I was so concerned about the stopper valve and getting this "man" out of my house, I did notice that the faucet was two or three centimeters from the previous location and you can see the stains of the old location on my marble vanity top. Also, it is a little off centered - to an angle and the faucet makes a noise when you close the hot water. I was going to show Seth this, but he never called. Would never use this company again.

Kramer & Sons is our go-to for plumbing and HVAC. Like so many others, we found out the hard way that we bought a money pit. They've helped us tremendously in holding it together. Their prices are highly competitive, they are very responsive, and the crew--from the office to the guy(s) on the call--are simply good and decent folk. Thanks to how much we've used them, and how great they are, even our kids know them by name and know who likes cookies and who likes strong coffee. Every single job has been done excellently. On the exceedingly rare occasions when we've had a slight hiccup, they've been johnny-on-the-spot to get it taken care of quickly. If you need a great, family-oriented company for plumbing or HVAC, I highly recommend Kramer & Sons for a clean, professional, courteous (and transparently-priced) job.

David and Bailey from Kramer and Sons Plumbing were extremely professional in replacing broken hot water line under slab floor of our house. The break was under permanent island. They were able to replace pipe without taking out island. David also discovered additional pin holes in pipe running to sink and replaced the entire pipe not just broken section with no additional charges. Everything was explained in details that I could understand. They took extreme care in removing laminate flooring and it can be used again saving the expense of buying new flooring. They took great pains to keep mess to a minimum. Not only did they sweep the floor they took time to wipe the floor down to remove dust from having to dig up the slab. I have used Kramer and Sons for years and will continue to use them in the future. I would recommend them to anyone.
