I?m not sure I will ever call a plumber other than Kramer & Sons again. On both jobs, the team was professional and courteous. The plumbers were knowledgeable and completed the work on the timetable they gave me. The office staff is awesome - they scheduled us quickly both times and were able to get to us even sooner than originally promised.

Old water heater started leaking. Contacted Kramer & Sons morning of 27 January 2016. Service representative was very helpful. Plumber arrived within 3 hours to assess the situation. Plumber was very professional, outlined all the options/costs. Decided it was best to replace the nearly 15 year old water heater vice attempt to repair. Plumber began work removing old water heater while waiting for second plumber to arrive with new water heater. Job was completed within about 5 hours. Very clean installation. Crew cleaned up any mess well. Only gripe is a small bush in the front yard was destroyed while moving the old water heater out to their truck. There had recently been 18 inches of snow and the bush was somewhat hidden but still partially visible. Not sure why they ever went off the sidewalk. Chalk it up to a lack of attention to detail. Pricing was a little at the high end of the spectrum for my area. Suspect there could have been some cost savings had there been an opportunity to shop around. Unfortunately there was no warning the old water heater was breaking down. Received a hand written thank-you note from the office manager about two weeks later. Overall very pleased with the service and the water heater has not had any issues as of the time of this review.

Services were fine; work done was appropriate; left giant hole in ceiling, didn't even offer to have fixed or bring someone back to fix it. WAY OVERPRICED; unfortunately was a last minute job with no running water in the house until it was fixed so had to be done. Took advantage of this fact and outpriced/overpriced work done. Will not use again.

If you want professional service and professional people, contact Kramer & Sons. The staff was kind, professional, responsive to questions, and happy to talk about options to achieve success. Our driveway is 270 feet long from the street to the house and the water line broke. I called and spoke with Sadat who answered questions and if he didn't know something, he placed me in contact with the right person to obtain an answer. The staff is up front and creates confidence in the decision to hire them - and know the job will get done properly and on time. The amount of digging when replacing the pipeline was minimal and they sprinkled grass seed over the areas when finished. I would suggest that some boards or plywood be placed on the lawn prior to the small tractor which drives in to dig the dig holes. The depression on the lawn of the tractor tires is slight, but the bigger concern of having the job done right was certainly accomplished. Whether it's the staff at the office (Sadat) or the team that shows up (Andy), the guys are friendly and trustworthy. This is a family business with family values.

We had a broken garbage disposal and clogged kitchen sink. The tech came on time, explained all the pricing and options, and had a printed price sheet. He recommended the lowest cost service and it worked! So we didn't have to pursue the higher cost services. For about $350, he cleaned out our garbage disposal (which happened to be filled with debris) and got everything running again. I appreciated that the work site was left clean, and they even had booties to wear in the house.

I called on Monday morning to schedule an appointment. I spoke with Sadot, who was extremely personable and professional. He tried to get me on the schedule but it was booked. He made an appointment for the following morning. Juan (the plumber/technician) arrived on time and was the consummate professional. He explained a couple different approaches on how he planned to resolve the issue, then provided an update at several points along the way until he finished. Juan took extra care to not make a mess, but cleaned a small water spill quickly and completely. He treated my home like his own home. That is the ultimately sign of respect and professionalism. Hopefully I will not need plumbing services anytime soon, but if I do, I will call on Kramer and Sons and ask for Juan.

The technician was helpful, thorough and knowledgeable. He gave me additional tips on how to maintain the system and prolong its life. I asked for his card, and will most definitely call the company and ask for his services. Thank you - Kramer and Sons.

We had a significant sewage problem and had hired another company who could not find anything wrong. The Kramer and Sons plumber performed the same checks as the other company and within an hour our line was clear.

Rene from Kramer & Sons arrived at the scheduled time. Listened to my explanation of the problem. He. also listened to my concerns and went out of his way to handle the problem with expertise. I will continue to call them for my plumbing needs.

Arrived promptly at scheduled time. Located problem. Fixed clog.

[ As stated earlier/above ] Kinnett Plumbing showed up [ right on time, I'd like to mention! :) ] and took care of both the initial requested work, as well as the additional, unplanned-for but necessary work. They arrived [ again, I'd like to mention, in perfect punctuality! :) ] and went right to work! We've utilized Kinnett Plumbing's services a few times now [ since roughly one year ago, I think ] and NOT ONLY have we NEVER EVER had any cause for complaint, we ALWAYS have been genuinely satisfied with them! The SAME goes for this, their most recent visit!! Not only are they (from my experiences) punctual, but they are: Entirely Professional Quite willing to inform and educate their customers, regarding: maintenance/upkeep upon any plumbing fixtures that they've repaired or installed, and (of course) whatever work they've either done, or may suggest for future times ... Whether it's a kitchen sink's faucet, it's garbage-disposal unit, or toilets, or ANYTHING else, we feel that Kinnett Plumbing will be our first and ONLY choice for plumbing services!!! R/ Brian

Fortunately I had the insurance through Dominion Power to cover the cost of the repair and Kramer & Sons was the company contracted to do the repairs. They were timely and efficient. If I have any other issues (not related to the waterline break), I plan on calling these guys.

Once the leaky valve was discovered Kramer made the necessary repair quickly. I called Kramer to come back several weeks later to replace the 2nd valve in that location before the rebuilt decorative panel went back in place. Allthough that valve was showing no sign of damage, I decided to replace it with the more robust device and hopefully avoid another leak in that location.

Outstanding! Julio Romero was the technician, and he showed up on time as scheduled. Julio was friendly, efficient, and professional. He quickly removed the old unit and installed the new disposal expertly. It was a pleasure chatting with him as he did the job, and he fully answered all my questions. I was very impressed and will call on Kramer and Sons for our future plumbing needs. I definitely recommend Kramer and Sons.

We noticed our grass was very wet around our mains box and the sprinkler box, which was right next to it. It was a crap shoot as to whether it was the mains or the sprinkler system. We would have to dig to find out. I opted for calling a plumber rather than the sprinkler company in case it was a water main leak. After contacting many plumbers for this job, I settled on the last one, Kramer and Sons. While the other plumber reps were all very nice, Kramer and Sons were the only ones to really promote the idea of ?let?s take a look to see where your leak is coming from and if we can fix it before we charge you an arm and a leg for a new water main.? (I also liked the fact that the whole 4-man crew who would do the job showed up to give the estimate.) All the other companies seemed to want to replace our water line right off the bat for anywhere up to $5,400! Kramer and Sons quoted 3 ways: for excavating 6 feet and fixing the leak if possible and fixing it; replacing the water line if necessary with copper; or replacing with 250psi poly. They didn?t try to push one material over the other, like the other plumbers who had a preference. They were in fact surprised that the poly had gone bad after only 9 years. They said it should last a lot longer. They felt pretty sure it was the sprinkler system.We ended up choosing poly again with the idea that they would carry the poly on the truck if they needed it. I found this approach very reassuring. During the entire process, the Office Manager, Sadat, was incredible! He was so responsive and answered every one of my many, many questions with patience and politeness. I can?t sing his praises highly enough. Kramer and Sons have a gem there. On the day, the 4-man crew showed up bright and early and started digging. They used a big plastic sheet to put the dirt on so they would not mess up the grass. They were here for a total of about 6 hours, with about 4 hours of digging, and some down time waiting for glue to dry and to fetch parts. When they got down to the level of the join between the sprinkler and mains, they could see a leak. They also saw a leak coming out the top of the blow off valve. Two of them went off to get the parts they needed as they are not sprinkler techs. They fixed it and tightened down the cap on the blow off valve by using tape to give it something to bite on. (This is apparently normal practice for the sprinkler company each year after winterization.) They expressed some concern at the time at how loose it had been and that it might be "threaded" or slightly cracked from over use. They pressure tested the system and we tested the sprinkler. Everything was fine. At the end of the work, they put all the dirt back, overseeded, and lay straw on top of everything. They spent some time hosing down the sidewalk and road and left nothing out of place. As a side note, unfortunately the sprinkler blow off valve cap blew off during the night and water was coming out fast. We shut off the main sprinkler valve and called them first thing and the same 4-man crew showed up immediately. They were very surprised that the cap blew off as it had been on so loosely when they found it so it should have been better once tightened. They wanted to shut off the blow off valve so that we could still use the sprinkler until our irrigation company came out to winterize the system and fix the cap. It involved breaking off the lock on the valve shut off. Unfortunately, it was rusted on so they weren?t able to do that. They did not want to break anything so advised that it would be best for the sprinkler company to come out and replace the lock and cap, and I agreed. We have them scheduled soon. Digging in the ground is not a cheap affair and it did cost $1,050 but that was the very lowest price as others had quoted much higher prices to just to excavate and fix the leak. If I had not continued to talk to plumber after plumber and found Kramer and Sons, we would have ended up paying up to $5400 for a new water line for no reason at all! I still break out in a sweat thinking about it! I have learned a lot from this experience. Be careful and do lots of research before you spend your hard-earned money. I felt the entire experience was very positive and recommend the company very highly.

Called for clogged condensate drain. Check Angie List and found Kramer by looking at reviews and their typical service area map. The office manager called me immediately and was professional. We coordinated a day/time. They checked when they had a cancel to see if I wanted it done a day earlier. Julio arrived as scheduled w/ smile and sense of humor. Drain is downstairs near furnace unit used for draining condensate from A/C. Is under concrete floor. He explained P-trap and how runs into main line and what might be possible issues. He then tested drain and found I had cleared it using cleaner but also diagnosed that since he was pulling up mud from drain, the trap area might have corroded through and to fix would have to jackhammer to replace (very expensive). He advised Ok to use as is and if condensate again causes an issue, there are other far less expensive 2 options to consider, i.e., condensate pump from Home Depot or running line to another access nearby (both allowed by code). BL: Julio has 26 yrs experience and that is the value I received! So...I said "Julio, come look at this bathroom venting issue I have been frustrated with past several years." (Company that renovated my bathrooms neglected to vent upstairs bath properly so every flush brought a gurgle from the sink and tub drains!) Julio diagnosed this issue correctly and rather than tear wall apart, suggested I see if a Studor valve (acceptable under Fairfax code) might resolve "the noise". He quoted a price drawn from 'the book' which seemed reasonable to me given his experience and time. Very professional and clean install. Not a lot of back/forth to truck which tells me he knows what he needs. Before he even started, checked to make sure he had all the parts he might need on the truck. Kramer seems like a very reputable and service-oriented business. Julio was an experienced professional who I have concluded is trustworthy and not one of these guys always trying to 'upsell' or 'pad the repair'. They use a pricing book to help bid the repair which is a way to provide consistency and trust. Some jobs may be easier than others so using an 'average' as a price might at first seem to bother some however no different than what auto repair shops and other businesses do. By using experienced guys like Julio, they can certainly keep labor time below the average and make their profit w/o having to take advantage of customers. Also, they seem a company that would stick to their bid regardless of issue(s) encountered. BL: Kramer and Sons (and by name request Julio) will now be my plumber of choice and recommended to others.

He was very gracious and polite. He cleaned up after himself and did a professional job. He was very kind to my toddler who really wanted to help. Great customer service from the beginning to end.

Arrived very promptly. Juan and Rene were courteous and professional. They treated our home with great respect by using drop cloths and shoe protectors. After assessing the job, they gave us an accurate estimate and proceeded to solve the problem. Juan also pointed out a dual angle valve under the kitchen sink that was corroded and might be a potential issue in the future. He offered to schedule a time the following week to come back to replace the valve with no additional service fee, since he could not do it that day due to tight scheduling and he did not have the necessary part on his truck. Juan also recommended that we consider using BioClean in all our drains on a regular basis to avoid future clogs. We have lived in this house for 25 years and have not ever had a problem with a clogged drain. It was inevitable this would happen eventually. Thank goodness for Kramer and Sons ! All in all, an excellent experience. We could not have been more pleased.

The most outstanding plumber experience anyone would never want to encounter. I have carried insurance through a subsidiary of Dominion Power (the electric company) known as Dominion Services for over 8 years. I actually expected that this service was going to have a great value to me at some point as I have seen many yards dug up for sewer issues not only in my community, but as I travel 10,000 square miles as a contractor on a daily basis. Lo and behold, 3 weeks ago, (Saturday evening around 5:45 ) my basement toilet backed up and spilled a tidy mess. NO FUN! I called Dominion Services and explained the situation and they told me that someone would respond within 24 hours. That would have been more than reasonable on a weekend, however I informed the representative that I had had 5 major abdominal surgeries within the last year and not having a toilet was not real practical as I require many visits some nights to the restroom. The representative then seriously went to work! I received a response from a gentleman from Kramer and Son's plumbing, probably within 30 minutes, who explained to me that he had been working all day and had a commitment with his family that night, but would call his company (unknown to me who his company was at this point) to see if there might be another associate available. Within 15 minutes my phone rings again, and Juan tells me he lives nearby and would be there within 20 minutes. Poof! Kramer and Son's contracting truck arrives. Then the real challenge begins. Dominion Services does not pay to pull the toilet up, but after Juan determined that would be necessary to snake the drain, he asked if I could make that happen and then coached me on the proper sockets and wisdom to safely and correctly make it happen.... after using 2 tools to try and clear the blockage, he went to the heavy equipment and shazam success! I can not say enough kind words to Kramer and Son's, the associate that talked straight to me and Juan (who I think actually lived nearby and very likely took the task because of my predicament. Hat's off to Juan, the associate I first spoke to, Kramer and Son's Plumbing, and Dominion Services. All a class act start to finish!

We called Kramer & Sons who informed us of the garbage disposal promotion offered through Angie's List. We purchased the promotion through Angie's List and Kramer & Sons called to schedule an appointment. They were very accommodating with our schedule and arrived on time. The repair took 1 hour and they were clean and thorough. They disposed of the non-functioning garbage disposal free of charge.

It went well, but took a long time. Local water authority was on scene and confirmed clog was not at street end. Richard removed the toilet, snaked the drain. Found and cleared the clog. Then reinstalled the toilet with new wax ring and caulk at the base. Renewal of the main water supply took a bit longer as the grass had grown over the street valve access so it was hard to find. All was finally accomplished in a very professional way. He cleaned up the work site and all is working nicely now.
