Every one of the men was polite, knowledgeable, and careful not to cause any mess, if at all possible. They went out of their way to keep down the amount of dust and disruption. A storm was predicted and they wanted to complete as much as possible of the work, so that the storm would not cause additional problems, like flooding in our basement. They kept us informed of everything that was going on, gave us estimates for each phase of the work, and stuck to those estimates.

I had a water main leak near the crock/meter at the street. Water was gushing into the street at my expense, and it had saturated the yard, so time was of the essence. Kramer and Sons sent out a technician the day to check the leak and provide an estimate to replace the pipe that runs from the meter to the house. I was very concerned about displacing some recent landscaping, including a newly installed stone patio. They gave me an estimate on a trenchless procedure that was $6550. I ended up going with another firm that agreed to replace the pipe for $3800 using a series of big holes. I didn't ask Kramer and Sons for an estimate on doing the job this way, because they said they would not be able to start the job for a couple of weeks. Since I had to shut the water off to the house, I needed to get the job started as soon as possible, so I went with the other firm. Seth Kramer was extremely responsive to all of my questions, and he went above and beyond to explain things to me and help me make the best choice possible. I would definitely recommend using them.

After reading the reviews on Angies List, my husband called Kramer & Sons as they are locally owned (we are in Alexandria) and the reviews were great. They were able to come out 2 days later, which was fine because it was not a plumbing emergency. Julio arrived right on time and walked me through my options using the pricing charts the company has created. While I think the prices were a little high, the fixed fee option (vs hourly rates) certainly means he would be as efficient as possible. I decided to have the faucet repaired and not fixed, which ended up being the right choice because it was something pretty easy to fix. Julio couldn't have been nicer and I will definitely use him again if a problem arises.

I can not overstate the excellence of Kramer and Sons during this job. This was a fairly traumatic experience for my wife (who was very pregnant at the time) and my young son. We were displaced from our home for nearly a week. But at every step along the way Kramer and Sons was there to communicate what the problem was, and how they were going to fix it. They chaged us what I felt was a very fair price considering how much work they did and how long they were working on it. They were even able to move the excavation ahead of schedule and the result was that we were back in our house in a very reasonable amount of time. We have used Kramer and Sons on a number of smaller jobs at our house, and every time we were impressed with their speed, quality and professionalism. This was the first major job we had them do and I couldn't be happier. In a day when customer service is almost non-existant, it was so refreshing to deal with a company who was not just focused on collecting a fee for doing a job, but who was genuinely committed to working with us through a very difficult process. Their effort was outstanding and I will not hesitate to call them in the future for any sized plumbing job.

They had a really tough job to do. They did the jobs that the other plumbers were not able to fix in the past. I had a recurring problem. The fixes that were done in the past were not done well. When this company came out, they had to remove the flange in the toilet. They had to do a lot of work on it. They were also able to open a drain that had been blocked from the day it was built. The people, who had built the house, were not careful and they had dumped things down. These guys told me that there was a piece of construction material that was blocking the drain underground. They had to jackhammer this thing out. Now, the drain works fine. It was a big job. I spent about $4000 on the job. At first, I thought the guys were very young. They solved the problem, though. They worked till late in the evening and it took them more than one day to complete the job as they had two jobs to finish. I will use them again in the future if required.

Technician and assistant showed up on time and explained all the work he would perform before beginning. He suggested an additional improvement which wasn't originally quoted which we accepted. He provided an additional quote for additional updates to our main water valve for future reference. He was both professional and personable. They finished sooner than I expected and I was pleased with the price. I would definitely use them again.

We had used them in the past and they were great. They were very thorough and real neat. We were very happy with the results. There were two gentlemen that came out. We didn?t compare prices.

Overall, Kramer and Sons does very good work and they are very professional. The project was scheduled and completed in a timely manner and they arrived on time. The project only took one day to complete, and it was completed at a high standard. The one drawback is that they are more expensive than other providers. However, I did choose them due to their plumbing expertise and their ratings. Their work quality is very good.

It was my first experience using them. They had a pretty truck with a painting on the side of it. It did not look like a typical plumber?s truck. The guy, who came out, was very talkative about explaining things to me. He told me what to do to keep the drain from clogging. He was very helpful. He made sure that I understood what to do for maintenance. I think he was the employee of the company. The plumbers I had used before, would just come out, do the work, and leave. The price did not seem outrageous to me. I will definitely use this company again in the future.

Between 9/2009 and 10/2010 we renovated our three bathrooms. We hired Kramer to remove the old bathtubs, do the plumbing installation, install new toilets, one new tub and two new shower receptors. We did the demolition, construction and tiling ourselves. Because of scheduling, these jobs took a long time since we were mostly able to work on these projects on the weekends. Seth Kramer was more than happy to work with us and our timing, and Julio came when it was needed. Julio is a gem who is not only a wonderful man and very likeable and personable, but he knows plumbing. His assistant, Sadat, is also very professional, and with both of these men, we felt that we were in the hands of competence. We highly recommend this company.

We had a few things we wanted them to re-address and they came back out free of charge. What more could you ask for? The price was high, but they offered great customer service. I would certainly consider them for future work.

This was my second experience with Kramer & Sons, and it was consistent with the previous one. The company was easy to contact, efficiently scheduling my appointment and calling me 15 minutes ahead of the plumber's visit so I could meet him at my house rather than having to sit and wait. The technician was personable, professional and competent. He snaked my bathroom drain and identified the source of the leaking refrigerator, referring me (appropriately) to an appliance repair service. Only drawback: Kramer is very expensive. I was charged $307.40 for snaking the bathroom drain, perhaps 20 minutes' work. From prior experience, I knew they were expensive when I called them, and I was given a written estimate before the work was done, but I also had confidence that the job would be done right. The plumber also saved me some money by showing me how I could replace the spigot handle and repair the running toilet myself.

I have called on Kramer and Sons two times for different plumbing issues, and both times the issues were resolved quickly and thoroughly. They have a website that allows you to schedule service online. The three fellows I met were over these two visits were polite, arrived on time, laid out the prices before any work was done (and the prices for any contingencies that might arise during the course of the work), and used booties over their shoes while inside my place. During this visit, they did not charge me for fixing my sticky faucet handle, and showed me how to do it myself in the future. All of their work comes with warranties. Going above and beyond, they alerted me to rust build-up on the sprinkler system pipe near my door. They even played with my cat.

Appointment set up was easy and I was provided flexible options. Julio showed up when expected and did a super job in explaining the problem and my repair options. A standard repair rate book is used to determine the bill, rather than an hourly rate. All costs were explained, including options, before the work began. System was repaired and tested in about 90 minutes with a good clean up afterwards. Thorough and professional job.

Once again, the rep sent to our house spent a significant amount of time with us (approximately 2 hours), 1 hour of which were spent analyzing our current water heater and 1 hour of which was spent answering questions and explaining the differences between the various options. We ended up going to the lower cost model as opposed to the much more expensive and marginally more efficient tankless water heater. What stood out was that the K&S rep recommended the lower cost model even though I am sure the margin would be higher for some of the other options he presented. The work was completed within two weeks (about 3 hours to complete) and I have been utterly satisfied with the heater to date. We had some questions a few days after installation (which included pick-up, installation and clean up) and those questions were always promptly answered. We would highly recommend K&S. There is no greater proof of that than we no do not plan on calling any other plumber for our future needs.

They were very professional from the first call through the point of service. Their quote was competitive and Julio and Scott were very knowledgeable and experienced. They took about 4 hours which included an hour trip to their warehouse to get a specific heater. I would use them again and highly recommend kramer and sons.

My experience was great. Julio Romero arrived on time (I appreciated that the company called ahead to let me know he was coming). He was very respectful, engaging and even enthusiastic about his job. It ended up being a very easy fix to unjam the disposal, so easy, in fact, that Julio even showed me how to correct the problem myself if it came up again. He gave me a very clear idea of how pricing worked before he started. While the prices were higher than I was anticipating, at least I knew what I was getting into before authorizing the work. And I really liked that he showed me what he did - knowing that he wasn't looking to stick me on a simple fix next time means that I'm much more likely to call this company if I need something else in the future.

I was satisfied. I knew that the problem would be hard to find given its intermittent nature. Being able to identify the major likely problems will be of help going forward. Nick was personable, punctual and easy to talk/work with. I'd definitely call Kramer & Sons again and I'd definitely ask for Nick.

Fine, the job was completed in less than an hour. Plumber explained all possible complications that could occur, but fortunately none did.

My heat/ac guy noticed the (gas) water heater leaking water. By the time I got around to calling a plumber (and after checking Angie's) I had some minor carpet damage in the adjoining room. It was the weekend but Kramer sent someone right over. They fixed the leak and recommended a high-efficiency gas water heater. They came with the replacement in about a week or so. Very careful, very neat. They explained everything clearly. We are happy!

Excellent from start to finish. Seth was great on the phone, and Joe the service man was on time, very polite, cordial and knowledgable.
