Had some kind of water backup in our basement. We have the water and sewer line protection program provided by Dominion Power. So Dominion Power sent Kramer and Sons to our home. Two men showed up early put covers over their shoes. They got to work immediately to diagnose the issue with a plumber's snake underneath our home. Seth communicated with us right away and gave us some options more expensive and less expensive for the future if this happens again. He answered all questions we had. Line was snaked and blockage was found, all back to normal. Seth was professional, friendly and honest he explained what they were doing, and answered all questions we had. As for pricing I do not know because we have Dominion Power water and sewer line protection plan. Will be using them in the future. Already have another job for them to do.

We ran out of hot water. I called Kramer and sons at about 4:00pm. The next morning by 0900 the rep arrived. I was sure the problem was heating elements. He patiently traced the problem through the system and found the junction box feeding the heater had shorted wires. Unfortunately, Kramer and Sons do not handle electric problems. however, I had the problem identified and was able to start calling electrical companies immediately.

The two men arrived on time and did a thorough job of inspecting and cleaning the pump and replaced the batteries in the warning system. The men were clean, friendly and polite. I would definitely call this company again.

For this they only changed me the price of the call.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It went pretty well. They were fine and I didn't have any issues whatsoever. There were no additional charges.

Had to call this company twice to get a return call and appointment for estimate but TOTALLY WORTH IT! Andy and his coworker were straightforward, direct, friendly and efficient when they came out to do an estimate. Did not try to make the problem complicated, did not oversell, and in fact recommended ways for me to reduce costs now and in the future. They scheduled a appointment to do the work within two days and I was able to give a deposit over the phone with a credit card no problem. On the day of the work, they showed up promptly and did not waste any time digging and identifying the source of the leak. Repair was made, all earth put back neatly, straw and grass seed placed on top, and all pavement thoroughly hosed down. Friendly and easy going throughout, very customer-friendly and relaxed. Kramer and Sons was the fourth company that gave me an estimate, the most reasonably priced and most honest. Highly recommend and would use again no hesitation.

The plumber showed up on time and called ahead to let me know he was coming. He covered his shoes before entering my home and was polite, professional, knowledgeable, and pleasant. He didn't have a particular part in his truck, so he drove to Home Depot to obtain it. He explained the reason for the toilet running and what he did to fix it. He was able to complete the job in about an hour or less. However, a few hours after the plumber left, the toilet started running again. I contacted Kramer and Sons and they sent another plumber the next day. He adjusted the ball/chain/handle. The toilet still runs on occasion, but not to the extent that it did before the plumbers did their repairs.

Kramer & Sons were very professional, courteous, and punctual. They cleaned up after themselves and they are everything you would want your plumber to be.

The plumber was very professional and did quick efficient work. I would definitely use again. I only marked them down on the price, which I thought was a little high, but everything else was A all across.

These guys are fantastic. They're not cheap, but they're not ridiculous, either. Before calling them, I researched fair prices for our area, as well as costs for the parts from a local store and from the manufacturer with overnight shipping. I would much rather pay a fair price to have good work done. My repair guy was one of the "sons," if I remember correctly. He was smart, efficient, knowledgeable, and just plain good at his job. I definitely recommend them to anyone having problems with their furnace.

Kramer and Sons were very honest and communicated with us right away, that they did not service our area. Kramer and Sons said they would contact Angie's List to request the refund for us, but we have not seen it process.

My experience went very well. They were quick and efficient workers. The staff was professional and friendly while visiting. The pricing is very reasonable and I would recommend this company to others.

They were nice, but didn't do a good job. Initially came and did some sort of work, but didn't resolve the issue (it was a temporary fix). Told me that they had not addressed the issue, said if they would have to return they would charge me full price. They negotiated a price for an additional visit, but were not available in my time frame. Had to call a different company to come in and do it same day for a lower price, which had quality workmanship.

Outrageous prices and midreprsented condition.

I have nothing but good things to say about Julio, the plumber that worked on our project. He was knowledgeable, polite and very helpful. He did the work well and within the time frame quoted to us. He, however, had no way to change the exorbitant pricing that Kramer and Sons charged. Over thirteen hundred dollars for replacing two faucets is not just pricey - it's robbery. I will never call this company again.

They do very high quality work and were able to absorb more work than they expected when they arrived. They were very expensive.

The estimate was in the lower range of what I was getting from other companies. In the end, I went with a company that does trench-less pipe replacement to avoid digging up my driveway.

Fantastic service all around!! I received two quotes for the "relatively simple" work of removing the old sink, faucet and garbage disposal and installing a new, much deeper sink, faucet and garbage disposal. I removed 2 shallow sinks (builder grade) and garbage disposal and replaced with one large deep (9.3") sink with just one drain and new garbage disposal. We knew that the pipes had to be cut and redirected due to the depth of the sink but it turned out that the granite had to be trimmed and then the cabinet too had to be cut for the sink to drop in. Nick clearly explained what could be done and offered to put the old sink back if I didn't want to slightly cut part of the inside cabinet and trim the granite. I agreed to proceed and the owner's son, Seth, immediately came out to trim the granite (the plumber said he is not qualified to do that). Throughout the installation there were minor "discoveries" (like moving the electrical outlet under the sink down a couple of inches for the sink depth) but Nick was able to resolve them all and quickly. After 7 hours (yes, 7) I have a beautiful deep sink with a fancy faucet and ultra quiet disposal. The workmanship was great, and the service was very professional. Throughout the entire time, they continuously cleaned the area and hauled away my trash (from the sink). The price quote was exactly the same as another highly rated company on Angie's list and they stuck firm to the price despite all the additional work and time. I'm a very picky customer and their work for me was superior. I forgot to add that they came out on time to give a quote and provided a detailed quote and then on the install day arrived at 0740 for the 0730-0830 window. They didn't even take a break. They covered their shoes and used drop cloths during the work. I even had a neighbor come over during the installation to show them how good they were and to use them for any future work. I know its a long review, but I really want others to understand the difficulty and great outcome I experienced with Kramer and Sons, and special thanks to Nick!

They determined that the dishwasher was not leaking but it was a pipe under the sink. They fixed it and all was good :) Super nice and professional.

Up front, Kramer and Sons did fine work and I would use them again. But, I would be sure to get several estimates before starting any work. The project was a lot more simple than I feared, because of polybutylene pipe that my home inspector warned would cause a lot of leaking problems. Kramer & Sons had installed the home's water heater years ago, and with a good Angie's List rating I decided to go with them. The plumber, with an apprentice, was nice, professional and very respectful of my time and property. Because of the polybutylene pipe, the Plumber called for a more experienced plumber to make the final connections. (I appreciate someone calling for support if they are relatively inexperienced in a task) Overall the Plumbers were on site for about 3 hours. The first challenge I had was scheduling. Kramer and Sons could not schedule a Saturday appointment. So I went with a morning appointment. I was given a two hour window, 7-9 AM and the Plumber showed up around 8:30. The second challenge I had was pricing, When the plumbers showed up, they took pictures of the project emailed them back to the service manager, talked about it and reference a big book for the price list. The estimate was based on two tasks and I agreed to the work. In my haste to get to work, I assumed the estimate was the "maximum" charge and would be adjusted to a more reasonable amount for final payment. I was wrong. The bill for service was exactly what was estimated. Very high price for relatively simple work and few supplies.

Disposal replaced efficiently and at price agreed to through Angie's List offer. Like two other plumbing services, could not fix leaking faucet in bathroom but was able to explain the problem and help me find the supplier to replace a unique faucet set. Without me requesting, examined hot water heater and gave me a very expensive estimate to replace a water heater that is only two years old. A bit of a hard sell - this was the only negative in the service experience.

Excellent! Kramer & Sons initially came to our house in late June to do a furnace & a/c checkup. They found that the furnace had an internal crack, so they turned it off to make it safe. They replaced 2 parts on the a/c condenser, but told us it was on its last legs (both units were @ 20 years old). Marty told us the types of systems that Kramer & Sons installed and recommended that we take the summer to do some research and decide on the furnace we wanted to install. The a/c worked fine until just after Labor Day when it died. Once the a/c died, we called Kramer & Sons for an estimate to replace the furnace, a/c and hot water heater (which was also @ 20 years old). Marty came out the next day and e-mailed their proposal/estimate to me that night. The cost was lower than I expected for this extensive amount of work. Based on our telephone acceptance, they ordered the equipment and I mailed them our check for the first installment payment (33% on acceptance; 67% when installation was complete). At this point, the temperatures were consistently in the mid to high 90's, so we were very uncomfortable. Candace called a few days later to let us know the equipment had arrived and to see if it would be convenient for them to begin installation the next day - it was a 2-day job. Of course, we agreed. Marty arrived early the next morning and told me the top priority would be getting our a/c installed. He and his assistant worked nonstop in our yard and sweltering basement from 8am to 4pm to get our a/c and furnace installed. Before leaving, he explained that it would take several hours for the house to cool down, since it had been so hot (98 when he left) for 3 or 4 days. Three hours later, the temperature in our home had only gone down by 1 degree, so I called Kramer & Sons. Since it was after hours, I left a voice-mail message. I decided to send them an e-mail message as well, but figured we were looking at another sweltering night. Marty called me within 30 minutes to say he saw my e-mail message reporting the problem. He asked me a few questions, then told me he'd come back to our house to see what was wrong and would be there in 30 to 45 minutes. Once he arrived he solved the problem and said he'd be back in the morning. They returned and completed the installation of the furnace and the hot water heater the next day. Before he left, Marty showed me how to program the thermostat. He also said he'd return later in the month when it was cooler to fine-tune the furnace. He came back last week to put the furnace through its paces and answered a few questions I had. I'm also happy to report that our new hot water heater's working beautifully. Kramer & Sons really came through for us on this job! They were punctual, very professional and responded immediately when the new a/c system didn't start cooling our home that first night as it should have. As always, they were very respectful of our home. Although the cost was very good, they were very accommodating in allowing us to split it into 2 installments. The installation includes a free follow-up in 6 months after which time you can purchase a maintenance contract. We've used Kramer & Sons as our plumbers for the past 3 years and recommended them to our friends. Now we'll be happy to recommend their heating and air conditioning services as well.

Never responded to my inquiry (it's been 3 days). Went with Schreve McGonal (sp?) who called me immediately and serviced the same day.

Spent all afternoon completing a lot of hard work, including cutting and then replacing kitchen pipe near ground level of house. It took a lot longer because the pipe was clogged below the level where a snake in the kitchen drain would reach it. Replaced old section of pipe with new pipe.
