When the evaporator coil for my Spacepak AC failed prematurely (but still out-of-warranty) in May 2018, I was given the name of Krafft Air Conditioning Service as one of several certified Spacepak contractors in the area. I chose them off the list based on their favorable reviews on various sites. I have never had such a positive experience with an HVAC contractor, and only wish that I had known about Krafft eight years ago when I was having our Spacepak Air Handler and compressor replaced / upgraded. Jay Krafft was not only exceptionally communicative about my options, but went out of his way to work with Spacepak to ensure that the replacement coil was provided by the manufacturer at NO COST to me, even though I was technically out of warranty. It reflected very well on Spacepak too, that they wanted to make a long-time customer whole, and have a chance to evaluate why their coil had started leaking so much sooner than expected in its anticipated lifespan (and learn from it, even if it had conceivably been the result of poor workmanship by the previous installing contractor)(NOT Krafft). But I think it was Jay Krafft's professionalism, follow-through, and obviously excellent relationship with his suppliers and manufacturers, that ultimately led to such a positive result for me, both with Spacepak and with Krafft Services. I look forward to having them do my annual servicing and ongoing maintenance moving forward, and recommend them to anyone in search of a top-notch HVAC company.

Our efficiency gas furnace wasn't regularly coming on or staying on. We have used A-1 / Krafft (a combined company) to service our Carrier unit since we moved in, so gave them a call. We were able to schedule to have someone come out on a day I chose, and they gave me a 3-hour time window. Terrance arrived during the expected time frame, and he was friendly and professional. He inspected the unit and the vents, and ran a number of tests. He recommended a replacement part, and said their office would call to schedule a time to come back to replace it. They called and scheduled the work for the next day. John came the next day, and was also friendly and professional. To solve the problem he unclogged the drain line. The unit has been working great ever since.

Krafft gave us a detailed estimate and a more than competitive price. Work done in a day as promised. Would not hesitate to use them again.

Price was half of what another company quoted so it went well.

Working with them went perfectly - this was a very difficult roof install and they brought extra staff just to make sure it went well. It was incredibly hot and I have two small kids and they rushed to make sure they could get us on the schedule and book the crane as well. Every step of the (sweaty) way, they were professional and knowledgeable and very nice. Jay in particular really knows his stuff! Would definitely recommend for all HVAC jobs, big and small!

It's always tough when you are rating someone's pricing because you always would like things to cost less, but I think they're in line with everyone else, so I guess I'd have to say it's a good value.

Mr. Krafft recognized that the equipment was defective and went to bat for me with the manufacturer. He got a new air handler with an extended guarantee and then installed it -- all minimal cost. Krafft greatly exceeded my expectations. It is a pleasure to do business with a company that stands behind its work and treats its customers so well.

Really horrible. I called in early May to get an estimator appointment, earliest being 05/17. Krafft employee shows up around 4:15 pm. He looks around at current systems, writes down info on 3" x 5" wire bound notepad. He's not going to perform any estimate, only gather information to write up a ticket to hand over to someone else at Krafft and they will get back to me. Spent 15 minutes max at the house. 05/19 - 10am, I called Krafft to follow-up, described what has happened. They take my info and say they will call me back. 05/19 - 3pm, No call back from Krafft, I called again, explained everything again. They transferred me to Mr. Krafft's personal voicemail where I left information again. 05/20 - No callback ever from Krafft. Horrible follow-up, my time completely wasted. Your mileage may vary.

We've had them for 33 years for regular maintenance. We paid about $1800 to $2000. 2 guys came out and they kept the area clean.

It's part of the service contract we have with them. We been using them for 15 years. The contract is they will come out twice a year for no charge, plus they are also 27/24/365 days a year policy so they will come out on the weekend.

Outstanding. Jay was responsive to all my questions and provided a very detailed recommendation. Service was delivered on time and the team was exceptionally tidy and took great care to be neat.

They give you great response time, if you have an emergency they can usually get to you within 24 hours. They are pretty punctual, they give you a time frame so they are there within that time frame and the work is very good.

We have a contract with them. We had a new unit put in because the old one had worked for about 30 years, it took about 5 trips with different people each time to get the whole thing installed properly. They didn't install a drain for this thing, somebody else found that. We had a puddle on the floor. It took forever and a day to get the thing put properly. I think the training of their people and their accuracy of their installation could be a thing they could improve on.

We pay a fee. We are members. We always have to call them to set up appointments and a lot of times, they will check both the heat and the air conditioning at the same time. We just have to keep up with them because otherwise, years can go by and it would not get checked. Once we make up an appointment, they are very good at showing up, but we have to make the appointment. It is not set up in a regular basis on their database. They do not call us as a reminder to check our air conditioning and heating. It will be the middle of winter when they are checking the furnace and it will be the middle of summer when they are checking the air conditioning. They wait for us to call them. We have not been that happy overall. We would just look around for somebody else. It is not that they are horrible. They also do fine things.

I shopped around and got approximately four estimates before going with Krafft. Their price was the best, with no pushy salespeople and no "discounts". The price they quoted me was better than the others right off the bat although others kept dropping their price. I appreciate the honesty instill using marking up prices so I can be offered a "discount" or "sale". Keep in mind that these comparing these types of units is apples to apples as there are only two manufacturers that I know of. The day of the installation the crew showed up on time, were very friendly and did a relatively quick install on what is really a fairly difficult install due to the size and weight of the unit. They installed a new thermostat and insured everything was up and working correctly prior to leaving. They left no mess and I am still happy with the unit and the install provided.

They are very professional, prompt, and consistent. The same man comes twice a year and we have grown to trust his set trade skills and we enjoy his company. Very good company I would recommend to everyone

The same person from Krafft has been servicing this house since the 80's. My father started with them first and I have continued to use them since 2012. Have no complaints.

Krafft Service Corp. only does what is needed. There is never any pressure and they are always professional. My air conditioner was fixed in 15 minutes and every technician is completely honest and efficient. The owner of the company is first class and all his employees emulate his philosophy of honesty, fairness, and integrity.

We have a service contract with Krafft - and have had for several years - they do a great job. They will make weekend appointments which is really great, they give you a 4 hour window for the service person to come. They are always very professional in their service and we will continue to renew the annual service agreement with them.

My scheduled window of service was from 12:00 to 6:00. I called at 11:45 to ensure they were still coming and was told I'd receive a phone call when they were 30 minutes out. At 5:10 I called to see if there were any issues. I was told the technician had called, knocked on my door and left a service tag on the door. I informed the company that I had been home since 12:00, heard no knock (or door bell for that matter), received no call and that there was no tag or note on the door. When I asked what number they called, they provided an inaccurate one --- didn't even have the correct area code. After the company said they couldn't do anything, to their credit, they called back and stated they could have a technician to my place after he completed another service call. I declined the offer due to the already late hour, but more importantly, a lack of trust in this company.

The guy came and performed a service, which found a leak in the AC unit. He then charged $96, and provided a $10k estimate for AC replacement. Two things bothered me about this - one is that if you are going to provide an estimate of that size, have the common courtesy to waive the service fee. Two, the estimate for the AC replacement was considerably higher than it needed to be. A standard AC replacement does not amount to 10k. The units cost $3-4k tops. Double that for labor, and you are looking at $7-8k on the high end. It would be cheaper for me to pay contractors from another state to come do the work. Luckily, I found a reputable one locally that was over $3500 less than Krafft.

I've used Krafft in the past, so when I found my basement floor flooded as I was getting ready for work, I gave them a call. The person who answered the phone was very helpful, and found a time later that day for me to meet a service tech back at my house, which let me take care of morning meetings at work, with he assurance that the problem would be dealt with that day, and before the weekend, since it was a Friday. The tech showed up basically on time, and examined the hot water heater, which he said should still be good based on its age. But he also said that the leak could be an indication of a cracked liner, in which case I'd need a new water heater. His inspection showed no real problems with the heater, except for a leaking drainage valve when he heater was heating water and building up pressure. He told me that rather than him getting me the part, a simple plug/cap, and charging me $30 for it, I could run to the hardware store and pick it up myself for a few dollars. After making sure I understood what to do, he answered another question or two about what to be on the lookout of, and was on his way. It did cost the (approx) $96 consultation/diagnostic fee, but given the timeliness of the response, and the professionalism of the tech, as well as the time he took to explain what had gone wrong and how to fix it, and finally his patience and willingness to answer a couple of other questions, it was worth the cost.
