They came out long ago and did a day's worth of work. It all seemed pretty good, but it wasn't executed very well. The biggest stumbling block was that I had someone come out to look at all the work and give me an estimate. Because they had to drill through a brick wall whoever showed up at my house needed to have a drill. The guy who came to do the estimate told me to ask for him when I called to schedule the job and tell them that we were going to drill through a brick wall and he would make sure that they would have the drill and he would remember it. I did all that and they sent out someone different who did not have a drill on his truck. He actually spent 2 hours driving to get a drill. The expectation was that I was going to pay for those 2 hours which I was not interested in doing. We had to negotiate on that, but I did not end up paying for those 2 hours. The work was done just fine but was not executed the way it was supposed to. I don't know how to grade the price. The quality of work was fine. The guy showed up on time, but without the appropriate material.

They put lights where they didn't exist before. They showed up on time, they were prompt and cleaned up after themselves. They explained everything they were doing in advance and discussed options to me. We had to go with plan B and he came up with ideas on his own. I would say the experience was excellent. They were very reasonable. We are planning electrical work right now and we are planning to use them and ask for the same guy.

I had some electrical problems with the lights outside. They did what they had to do in the time that they had to do it. They did a good job, and I was pretty happy with them.

I had purchased solar lights for the front of the house and because there are so many trees, they never came on. They did in the winter, but it definitely was not bright enough to light the path. I finally had to get the electrical lights installed. The price was good. The quality of work was good. They were responsive, punctual, and professional.

They were punctual for the appointment and they came out and did the work properly. The only thing we did not like was that when they finished there was a circuit that kept flipping off so we called them to come back out. When they came back out they discovered that they put the everything in the kitchen including the refrigerator and washing machine on one circuit and charged us for the consultation. They told us that it would cost another six hundred dollars for them to come out and split the one circuit into two circuits, but that they would apply what we spent for the consultation to the cost of the work. If the gentleman doing the original work had noticed during the work all of this could have and should have been avoided.The price was about average for the work. There was nothing wrong with their manner or personality, but the problems with the work arose and it has become an issue.

It was fine. I went with another company because they were substantially less. This company would have done a fine job. ($2,000.00)

I called this company because they claimed to offer "24-hour service." False claim. Called at about 7pm on a weekday, and after the phone rang about 20 times, an after-hours service answered and was curt and rude. They said they would take down my number and description of the problem, and that "someone would call tomorrow." I never received a call. Subsequently I learned they don't even service my area, but nobody at the answering service told me that, and nobody from the company bothered to call and explain. My suggestion is that if you have an electrical emergency, call someone else.

Working with Kolb was the worst experience I could ever imagine. The work was horrible, they tried to rip us off, and I would warn people to RUN AWAY from them! To give a few examples, without telling us they "piggy backed" the baseboard heater with our central A/C, causing our central AC to stop working (we didn't realize this until the summer at which point we had to hire another electrician to fix it); they didn't pull permits for a bunch of the work even though they were contractually obligated to (we ended up getting fined thousands of dollars, and Kolb would not reimburse us, even though it was entirely their fault); they would not return phone calls and often wouldn't show up when scheduled. It was a disaster. Stay away from Kolb and hire an honest company with a bit of integrity.

I had a really good experience with them. They were extremely reasonable. The job they did was mostly a whole day's work and they charged me a reasonable price for it. They are very good compared to others around. I give them A overall, which is why I got them on file.

I called for an electrician and was told that one would be at my house between 8 and 3 the next day. I carried the phone around the entire day so as not to miss the call but 3:15 came and no one had called or come. I called them and was told that the electrician had had too much to do so wouldn't make it that day but that I could actually have an appointment, guaranteed, the next day at 7;30 am. (No one had given me this option on the first call). I received a call at 7:20 am telling me that he would be 10 - 15 minutes late, no more. At 8:05 I called the dispatcher once again and was told that he was stuck in traffic. I canceled the job. I found them to be extremely unreliable.

Great experience, I was planning to install a new tankless hot water heater, but didn't have enough available breakers on my old panel. Kolb sent out an estimator to evaluate my situation and he spent more than an hour charting and evaluating the set-up. The electrician came on time and very quickly was able to carry out the work. He was done within 4 hours and returned the following day to coordinate connections with the plumber who installed the actual heater.

Scheduled for Friday, they showed up Thursday. A few glitches was that he only had one blank wall plate. He suggested I go to Home Depot to get another to finish the job myself. He only left me a small receipt showing the total amount charged, not an itemized list. I had to call three times to get the full itemized sheet detailing the charges. He did clean up, but used my paper towels to do it instead of bringing his own. He charged for travel time, which I hadn't been told, and they seem to round up at least to the next alf hour for labor. The rates seem to be a little higher than others I've used. On materials, the one plate I bought at Home Depot cost me 99 cents and the one Kolb provided cost me $3.28. For a box he charged $11.33, though it was $2.99 at the hardware store. Quite a generous markup over regular retail prices. He also added a 10% misc. fee under materials. What's up with that?

They were punctual and professional.
