Kingstowne Lawn & Landscape

I thought it wasn't really worth the price I paid. The deal was really an entry way to get customers to buy very expensive landscaping packages. It didn't suit my needs to get good design and plant advise. Instead, I got a $10,000 landscaping proposal.

I think that the initial appointment went well, the follow up was minimal, to non existent.

They came by and completed the work. The guy had laid out some very good plans. His service was good. We haven’t gone forward with the project yet.

Alan came out and reviewed the property drainage issues with me and provided a couple of options. He pointed out structural work that we could have done to resolve by re-surfacing the driveway and building in drainage to resolve issues with the slope/water flow of driveway. That was not an alternative for us at this point and he provided me with suggestions for the next-best solutions without going to that expense. His solutions were more aesthetically pleasing than others I had gotten. We have several areas of concern and he suggested doing it in phases to see how one solution would impact the less-significant drainage areas. We chose the 2 largest issues to tackle. He provided me with an estimate quickly and worked around our vacation schedule to get the work done. The crew did a great job with the steps and the drainage. They worked carefully around our irrigation system and the existing garden areas. They seeded the grassy areas and reset our slate pathway in the front yard - it looked better than before =) All of the scheduling was easy, I enjoyed working with Alan, and billing and communication was easy and professional.

Terrific work done by Kingstowne! Jodie Hinman was very responsive and understood our needs and budget perfectly. There was no hard sell to do work we weren't ready to do, and the work performed was exactly as expected. She was very organized and professional, and I appreciated the ease with which I could e-sign a contract and email it back. Jodie also connected me with Pablo, who does powerwashing for Kingstowne. He came before the lawn work and powerwashed the front of our home (for separate pricing) -- who knew it could look so good! He also was very responsive and professional. I was hoping they could continue to do maintenance work on our lawn, but we are outside of their regular service area. Jodie provided suggestions for other companies who could help us out. Kingstowne sent a representative within 48 hours to give an estimate for weekly lawn maintenance. Their price was comparable to the other estimates we received. We chose them because their estimate was done quickly, it was clear what things would cost and they made follow up calls to make sure we understood the estimate. They also called to remind us when the service was going to begin. They have been punctual and professional every week. When I called for an estimate on further services, they came the very next day. Very happy with their service.

Awesome, with regard to what the Angie's List deal was - a single drawing. What we got was almost two hours with an extremely knowledgeable, professional, and friendly landscape professional who listened to us (and what we wanted) with regards to our vision for the property. Not only were we provided on-site recommendations (worth the cost of the deal), the follow-up documentation and pricing information was awesome and so beyond the scope of the Angie's List deal! We were most appreciative with with the level of detail provided. Oh, and we did get that drawing - and a few others to go with it! Those who know the landscaping business know that a good job is not cheap. It is materiel and labor intensive. The way the prospective job was broken down into 'affordable' phases was exceptional. I got my Angie's List deal's worth on this one. Beyond this deal, I did not purchase or use the services of this company.

Mark is AWESOME as a designer!! Loved his suggestions, and yet he was very thoughtful of my own ideas and incorporated them into his plan. He was easy going, not pushy. The work was very well done. I was so excited to come home to see all their hardwork and professionalism. You can tell this is a company that wants to please, and they are great at what they do!

The design was pretty good. However, they never returned the copy of the house layout I gave them, and the design was too expensive to go through with it.

Mark was an absolute pleasure - he priced a few options and we are having trees removed and i look forward to doing more work with the copany in the future. Excellent Service!

It went great overall. We look forward to using Jodie and her crew again for a radical change to our backyard next spring!

Fine. What we paid for.

Went excellent. Alan M. Provided great design advice and worked with us to get to right price. He also checkef in continually through entire process which took a couple of months overall. Work involved at least three crews - deck, walls, and fencing. Scheduling went well with acceptable time between each phase. Crews cleaned up everyday and were very professional. Material used was also top notch. The initial fence installion did not go well,, however, Kingstowne reinstalled a new fence without delay and no complaint. Great service!!

Design okay. Had a more appealing design and price from another Landscape Cmpany

Very well. They initiially didn't grade, but the office & Mark McGinnis were very responsive & completed the project quickly.

Mark, interviewed us about the problems we anted resloved with lanscaping in front of our detached garge. He then walked the property with us and made suggestions along the way. He took all the information he had gathered and return to his office, and within a few days, we recieved a very nice detailed sketch of the proposed work. Mark was professional and a pleasure to work with. His design incorporated all the elements we had discussed - great job.

The intent of the design was to channel surface water that ran downhill into the residence.in the the street located in front of the residence. Inasmuch as there have not been any severe rains to test the system as of this date, it is not possible to comment on the success of the installation design at this time. Kingstowne was prompt and on schedule for doing the work. They were professional in attitude and very accommodating. The sump located in the back yard near the residence was installed by another landscaper who did not run the sump pump discharge pipe into he main street drain. As a result, storm water would continue to recirculate in the sump until the pump motor burned out. Kingstowne rectified this error on the part of the previous landscaper but not without somewhat major unforeseen problems. Kingstowne overcame this obstacle at no additional cost to me. I would not hesitate to hire them again to do any landscaping work and rate them with a grade of A. The only downside to their performance is that they seem to have brought in weed seeds which germinated along the drain pipe routes. With several application of weed killer I managed to eradicate nearly all of the weeds. In addition, I needed to seed some dead patches of grass along the drain routes where the released sod did not take. It is significant to note that our area was experiencing a drought for a prolonged time and that this probably would not have occurred during a normal summer season. In any event, I do not consider any of these minor defects as detracting from the otherwise excellent job that they did.

He listened and I liked the design he drew. up. However, I chose not to proceed with Kingstowne Landscaping since I was told that they did not provide any warranty on the plants even though they were creating the planting beds, procuring the plants, and planting them.

Purchased a Big Deal with Angie's List. The consulted came to the house because one of my tenants ignored the back yard. She loved all of our ideas and drew up some plans for helping us out. She did an excellent job with everything. She met our expectations in every way.

My husband and I are thrilled with all of the landscaping work that was performed by Kingstowne Lawn & Landscape (KL&L) at our home. This is a quality company, and the results are definitely worth the price! We first met with designer Mark M. back in May, and he spent a nice amount of time talking to us about our preferences, showing us photos of potential ideas for plants and landscaping, and walking around our property to assess what would need to be added and changed. In our case, we wanted to completely overhaul our existing yard, so Mark drew up a comprehensive plan and design that took into account all of our requests. Mark was very responsive over e-mail and answered all of our many questions very patiently and quickly, including with regard to pricing details, types of plants and mulch, and HOA-approval issues. After signing the contract and paying the deposit in June, we asked if we could have the work performed later in the summer due to our travel plans. KL&L was more than happy to honor this request, and we were able to have the work performed during the exact week in August we had hoped for. It only took the crew two days to complete the entire job, which involved removing 95% of our existing shrubs and trees (including a large-rooted cherry tree near the sidewalk); creating new beds all around the house; planting a large variety of flowers, shrubs, and trees; and mulching and edging the entire yard. All of the workers were extremely friendly, easy to talk to, and very accommodating. Mark came by multiple times throughout the two days to help out and supervise, and he even came by an extra time to answer one of our questions during the process. We are extremely happy with the results and have already referred our neighbors to KL&L since we have gotten so many compliments from them about our new yard. Many thanks to Mark and all of the good folks at KL&L!

They were fast to schedule me, and the gentlemen came out within a week, which was great. He was very easy to talk to, nice guy. We talked about all my various gardens and what I was hoping to get out of them over the coming years. I furnished pictures, and he gave me tips about what would work. He even helped me with a few questions I had around the property. I'n not an amateur gardener, though I'm far from a master gardener, and I did express what kinds of plants I was looking for, or wanted to avoid. The plan I got back though was pretty rudimentary that I was disappointed. It included some liriope (which I hate), and some other pretty basic plants. I felt it was missing any sort of "punch" to set the yard apart from a basic/blah looking garden. Overall: Good experience with the staff, disappointed by the output. And the cost for them to do the work seemed ridiculous to me, but that's probably going to be the case no matter what, since I would DIY it anyway.

Jodie, listened to our suggestions and offered others. Design was completed on time.

The company rep arrived on time and gave a detailed report on what could be done with the backyard. However, we decided that we would have to put it off because of expenses associated with having to replace our roof, a very expensive undertaking.

Alan listened to our family needs, special issues and took great care in his assessment and measurements of the area. Wow! That is what I have to say about the design Alan created. I was blown away with the use of space and overall beauty. I never would have guessed our backyard could look like that. I would highly recommend Alan and Kingstowne Lawn and Landscape to anyone who is designing a patio or landscaping.

I have to say that Mark, the consultant was extremely professional and knowledgable, and provided great ideas. But the bid estimate to actually do the work was WAY out of the ballpark for the size yard and home that I have. Part of the job involves removing a tree. The price Kingstowne gave was literally double the next closet bid I received from other tree removal services. If you can afford their prices, I think they would do great work, but price is a big factor for me.
