Kingstowne Lawn & Landscape

They helped me with a landscaping plan for flowers in my front yard. I had a big deal so the price was fine. I probably would not use them again.

It went fine. The work met my expectations because they completed the contract. I chose them because they seemed to be able to understand what I was trying to do.

I made the initial appointment for their landscaper to come out and she came out on a day that it was raining and was not able to walk around and take a look at the property. She asked me to concentrate on one area, so I said the front. She took some pictures of the front and said that she would do a sketch and get back to us and she also said that she was going to come back and take a look at the rest of the property then. And then we didn't hear anything about it. And finally it was several months before she got back to us. And she did come out for a second visit, she did look around our backyard as well, she did provide a sketch of a landscape plan for our front-yard. So, in that regard the transaction was completed, but I was not very impressed by the plan that she developed for us. They were very professional looking, I just didn't think that they were very creative and then the idea that she gave us for the backyard was, kind of, if you pull those bushes out that would help. I just didn't think she was very creative.

Kingstowne has never disappointed us. They have our yard looking great! They are prompt, do what we ask them to do, and do an outstanding job every time. Our yard won "Yard of the Month"! It is not our doing, it is only by the fantastic work that Kingstowne does each time they fertilize our yard and prune our trees.

They had to be very careful because there were power lines and underground irrigation lines in a small area where the shrub was to be planted. They did a wonderful job and the shrub looks great . I would recommend Kingstowne Lawn and Landscaping as a very reliable company. They are on-time, on-budget and they do good work. They have been maintaining my front and back yard for years and I have been very happy with their work. I love a beautiful yard but I have no talent for landscaping. I don't know the difference between a plant and a weed and my artificial plants die so I needed a company I could trust. Kingstowne Lawn and Landscaping is that company.

There was a backlog in their schedule, so I had to wait a couple of weeks after signing the contract. I contacted their customer service department, who explained the situation to me, and was extremely pleasant and responsive. Now that the refurbishment is complete, all I can say is that the job they did explains why the demand for their service is so high. They did a tremendous job refurbishing plots that were seriously overgrown with weeds, grass, etc. It generally looked terrible. After they did their work, the beds are fresh and clean -- barely recognizable. What was most impressive to me was their attention to detail. They addressed some areas that I had come to expect would be given short shrift, based on my experience in past years with other lawn & garden contractors.

Always excellent work, honestly my yard has never looked better. The employees are professional and friendly.

There's not much to do once you're on a program. Everything gets done while you're away at work for the day. It's just nice to get home on the weekend and have the yard in tip top shape. While my neighbors are mowing their lawns, I'm riding my bike. The planting jobs we've had done over the years are slowly maturing and looking good.

Top quality service. Lawn looks great. We have an in-ground watering system which helps a lot.

After an early negative experience with this company, the owner personally reached out to try to make things right. Good company, good leadership, strongly recommended.

Arrived on time and did the work in 3 days. Superb cleanup job and removal of debris. Accessible for questions. This is a corner house, so the work is seen from two sides. Many compliments from the neighborhood.

It was not much of a design but we had them plant plants and re-landscape the side of a small plot. The work was decent but they were well over priced.

This is the 2nd year that I have used Kingstowne Lawn and Landscaping for their services. My lawn has never looked better and they never try to upsale you on unnecessary things. I highly recommend them!

Unfortunately, we were not able to go forward with the plan because of unplanned circumstances. However, I would highly recommend anyone to contact them for landscaping and other yard services.

The service and design were outstanding for the cost. Alan was extremely professional and had my best interest in dealing with the erosion issues. I particularly appreciated having several lower costs options on the table. The price for the overall project seemed high, but is in keeping with the market. I had a few modifications to the design once it was done and Alan was very responsive. We didn't do the work because of the impending winter and the length of time it would take to get the work approved by the home association board. We will revisit the project this summer and have KLL in the running.

I started my search for a company to do the project beginning in March, 2013. I began reading reviews about Kingstowne Lawn and Landscape and to be honest some of the reviews weren't that great, not because of their work but because of poor/rude customer service. I hesitated calling for a few days because customer service is just as important and says a lot about a company as does the work they do. I just didn't want to deal with it as I am the type of person who has a lot of questions and wants to talk to someone who can listen and be patient with me. I finally decided to call and was fully prepared to be disappointed but from the very beginning I was treated extremely well by the lady who took my call (I wish I remembered her name because she was polite and professional). She listened and explained the process and said she would have the senior landscape designer contact me later that day or the next day to setup an appointment. As happy as I was that the initial phone call went well I was still cautious with my expectations. I thought the senior landscape designer would take a week to call or worse I would have to call back a week later to find out what was going on. Nope, I was wrong again. Alan Macbeth (senior landscape designer) contacted me the next day and arranged to come out and discuss the project. Alan arrived on time and listened to my wife and I as we explained our vision for the area. Alan did not push us in any direction or try to sell us a larger project. After we explained our thoughts we asked Alan what he thought and what ideas we might want to consider for the area. Alan brought up some really great ideas and mentioned things we never even thought of. Alan told us he needed about an hour to take some measurements and develop a concept design (which he does using a computer and printer in his vehicle). About an hour later he had a rough but detailed computerized drawing of the area along with a patio and landscape design. We then sat down and he provided brochures showing the different types/colors of pavers we could choose from. Within two days we had an estimate of the project and after a few days of eliminating a few things and adding a few things we signed the contract. Having been told spring is quite busy for them we were pleasantly surprised when we received a call about three weeks later letting us know our project was scheduled to begin. The crew who did the work were punctual each day and very meticulous from digging and leveling the area to laying each paver and putting in the landscape area. What was impressive is that they cleaned up each day (tools put away neatly, dirt and debris blown from the driveway and sidewalk, etc.). Alan kept in touch with me during the project and stopped by to make sure the work was being done correctly. After four days of work the job was complete. A beautiful 15' X 15' circular patio and seating wall with a sidewalk leading to the deck along with an amazing landscaped area consisting of three crape myrtles, six azealas and several ornamental shrubs. Of course the area was left clean, equipment gone, and patio ready to be enjoyed for years to come. So, having said all this I would highly recommend Kingstowne Lawn and Landscape. Although I can't speak of the other landscape designers I can say that Alan Macbeth was a pleasure to work with and was very attentive to our ideas and very prompt at returning emails and phone calls. I am considering having my driveway done next year and Kingstowne Lawn and Landscape will be the first I call.

The work was done 2 years ago. I took advantage of an Angie's special on landscape design from Kingstowne. Alan listened to the ideas I had and came up with an impressive design. We live adjacent to a wooded area and get a lot of leaves in the Fall, so I wanted plants that I could cut back in either the Spring or Fall to aid in the clean-up process. The plants he recommended suit the area perfectly. There were a few casualties the first year, and Alan responded quickly to my e-mail informing him of this. The dead plants were replaced and all have thrived since that time. One thing I didn't consider when contracting with them: A flyer was included in the final statement about an annual maintenance program. When I expressed an interest in the program, I was told we were outside their area for this type of work. A minor disappointment.

They came out and did the consultation as stated within the deal. We decided to go with their design and they completed the landscape project.

It's hard to tell what they are doing right or wrong because you don't see anything. I had them a couple of years. They put down liquids rather than solids. I hired them because the people before them weren't doing a good job. The other thing I like about them is that when somebody does come out and they say they've done something and I look around and say I don't see any evidence that it happened, they come out and do it again.

Angies list deal.. Service/value was unremarkable. An landscape design was provided. I am primarily entering this review to stop Angie's list from continuing to nag me about.

Met at home to discuss needs and wishes. Jodie grew up a great plan and then helps us customize to meet our budget. She was our key contact throughout and made sure everything came together. We have continued to work with them for other landscaping and holiday lighting services. Great company.

The assessment was done pretty well. They were just pretty thorough and real friendly to work with. The price wasn't incredibly cheap; it was probably in keeping with the rest of the industry.

I bought a design session on AL. Having done business with KLL before i was more than happy to pay the $100 for a design session. It went really well. Very pleased with the product and will implement the design in phases in the future.

The only thing pending in the spring time whether or not the plants will survive. These plants were guaranteed and some of them don't look too well so I have to wait and see if they respond to that. I thought Jodie was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. I think that they seem to be a good provider. They are a little bit high on the pricing end. I would consider them for future work.

This was a requested estimate and ideas for a project I needed done. The company was responded well and provided some ideas and developed a plan. I did not act on it because the cost and personal circumstances that interfered with acting on it.
