Since 2006, JumpStart Computing has provided quality on-site PC and Mac repair and servicing at affordable prices. Our personal attention by knowledgeable technicians will put your mind at ease as we handle your computer needs. We operate in the greater metropolitan Washington, DC area. We also cover the DC metropolitan Maryland and Northern Virginia areas. If you are having a problem with a digital device, we can help! JumpStart Computing will provide the services you need within your budget. We handle calls at a flat rate of $79 per hour no matter what the task or how many tasks are being performed simultaneously, unlike some competitors who bill à la carte. That’s nearly 20% less than Geek Squad or other national chains! Plus, we offer an additional 20% off first-time Service calls to let you try our service without pressure. Does your business need an ongoing commitment of support for a smaller investment? We offer prepaid contracts of 5 hours of service at 20% off, over a six month contract period. This is handy for big jobs like installing new computers, transferring data to the new computer from the old computer, and installing and testing printers and networking, along with configuring email programs and installing anti-virus and Microsoft Office programs. Also convenient for reduced payments for one-on-one tutoring over several visits. We offer virus removal services, fix networking problems, and reconfigure PCs to get the optimum speed from them. "I agree that I did not respond in a timely manner, but I could not find a solution. I left 2 voicemail messages to come back to look at the issue at no cost but I have not received any reply. The offer is still open. The Windows 7 computer died and the new computer was Windows 10. The email program in question, Windows Live Mail 2011, has not been supported by Microsoft since it was replaced in 2012, but I did the best I could with the data I found on the old computer. I did not know there was a problem until the first phone calls the next day, and I decided to research for solutions to the problem before returning the calls. This was a mistake, as I never found a perfect solution to the issue. I have offered to return at no cost to look for email data in non-standard locations, but have not received a reply. I apologize for the frustration I caused by not returning your phone calls sooner. That is my fault. I am offering to make this right."

Mike arrived at my house on time, took the time to understand my software vproblems and then explained to me what steps he would take to correct/complete the process. Because my software is old, Mike ran into some major problems. He worked over three hours, but was unable to get things working correctly and asked if he could come back the next day. Before he left, he made sure my system was at least operational. The next day, he came back, found the problems and fixed them. Overall, I think Mike worked +4 hours. Having limited computer knowledge, I appreciated the fact that he didn't "talk down to me". He was very clear in his explanations and made sure I understood what was happening. I was very pleased with his fee. He gave me some great advice on future computer purchases. Mike was professional, friendly and clearly very knowledgeable. You could tell he really enjoyed the challenges of solving computer problems. I'll use Mike again for future computer problems and would recommend him to friends.
