Homm Certified Painting Systems

Very happy with the outcome. My wife and I are very picky about the edges and Omar did a great job. Only minor issue was cleanup could have been a little better. That said, he put in a long day and worked hard, so it wasn't a huge deal. We'd work with Homm again on future jobs and will recommend to friends.

I called for an estimate of the work and spoke to Andres - he was excellent. He explained that the company doesn't typically do jobs as small as this (their minimum is typically $500), but told me that if I chose, we could use the Angie's List coupon for $120 to do a 300 square foot space and this would fall under that. Andres came over for an estimate of the work, reviewing everything in detail; the next day he emailed an agreement of the work to be done. Andres knew we were readying the condo for rent and scheduled as soon as he could - which happened to be on our move-out day. The painters, Omar and his partner (I didn't catch the name), called ahead and asked for some clarifying directions to the place. When they arrived Omar - who seemed very nice - went over the work order Andres prepared and we showed him the places under the window that needed smoothing, and edges along the cabinet frames where we had done a poor job painting. Omar and friend laid down cloths, and were very efficient. Within minutes of arrival, they had divvyed up and begun the work, with Omar doing the more technical (I think?) smoothing, scraping, and edging. While they worked, my husband and I continued to pack and ready the condo for the movers - who arrived while the painters worked. It's a small condo, but with how quick and quiet everyone was, you would never know there were so many of us at work. Omar sought us out when the work was completed and we were pleasantly surprised to see that he had put some sort of caulking/edging along every one of the cabinets (rather than just the places where we'd been a little messier), to provide a uniform look. Under the window is very smooth and cleanly done - the whole effect makes the kitchen look much more polished. The entryway to the kitchen was also painted and looks great. We would definitely reach out to Andres again and use Homm in the future, perhaps when we need our new home painted, which will definitely not be a small job!

We originally responded to an Angies List "Big Deal" speacial for interior painting. After consulting with the owner, Andres, we arranged to also have the trim, basebords and doors painted in our master bedroom. We also added having crown molding installed. On price, you couldn't beat the special he offered. His estimate for the additional painting was more than reasonable. I will caution that Andres' estimate for the crown molding was off by a a considerable sum. However, we felt having the room completed all at once was worth it. Andres' lead painter, Omar, and an assistant showed up early this past Monday and for the work required, they finished in one day. What a great job! The room is beautiful!! There were some small problems with the clean-up at job's end; however, I would absolutely recommend Homm Certified Painting Systems to anyone. And we would consider using them again in the future.

The advertised "deal" said that they would paint "1 room (up to 300 square feet) of interior painting for only $120." When I received the estimate for having my 1 room painted, the cost would have been $1,024! The 300 square feet refers to the surface to be painted, not the size of the room. 300 square feet of wall surface is a room about 9.5 square feet (with an 8 foot ceiling)--which is a pretty small room. As said in the ad, the customer has to pay for the paint ($200), and trim or ceiling painting is not included ($>600). This seemed to me to be a bait-and-switch deal. The $120 was a low-ball estimate, and the real cost was going to be over $1,000. I do not know how much another company will charge for this work, but I was offended by the deceptive advertising of this company. I contacted Angie's List, and they refunded the $120 I had paid to take advantage of this "big deal."

I really liked them. Their estimate was the best I got. They did really quality work. We had a lot of wood damage and they repaired it all. They were much cheaper than any other estimate that I got.

Overall, Hoom's did a nice paint job at a very reasonable price. It was nice that they offered the promotion, which saved me quite a bit of money for a good, quality paint job. I am very happy with the results, and they used the higher end paint to complete the project as well.

The estimator was friendly and professional. We chose to use a competing company for this job. However, we would contact this company again in the future to discuss future work.

Andreas, Homm's estimator, came to our house to enable him to understand the extent of the work and to prepare an accurate estimate for how much the work would cost. I described the work I wanted Homm to do and Andreas produced a contract with an option that allowed the customer to supply the paint and also allowed the customer to take responsibility for painting all the trim. The contract was signed and on the agreed upon date, Omar and a helper, started to do the agreed upon work. Omar, spoke good english and was a delight to work with. The painting was well done (sharp straight lines between ceiling and walls, no runs, uniform texture, etc.). The work was done in the agreed upon time schedule for the agreed upon cost.

They did a superb job from estimate to providing advice on color selections and homeowner's ideas. The final product is rooms that look like they could be in a model home!

I can't say enough good things about the quality of workmanship that we received on this job. The paint lines were crisp, and Omar did an excellent job of filling the hinge cutouts where a door was removed. As the work was wrapping up, Omar went through all the spaces, doing fine tuning, and cleaning up anything that was not perfect. Omar was very serious about the quality of the final product, and my husband and I could not be happier with the work we had done. We will definitely call on Homm to work on the kitchen when we're ready.

Outstanding service from start to finish. Andres was prompt and professional in providing the estimate, and Omar and his crew did an amazing job! I can't say enough how pleased I am with their work. I will definitely use them for any painting needs I have in the future and highly recommend them to all Angie's List members.

Arrived both days on time, nothing broken when they moved furniture, minimal leftover paint drips (literally I can think of 3 spots, all on highly polished surfaces so very easy to remove), two areas in kitchen where masking tape was left on (probably best anyway since the paint might have peeled based on the area they were left). Team leader, Omar, was very professional and helpful. I was having difficult time deciding how to paint Mstr BR, he and I discussed and re-discussed and he helped me make the right decision but never made me feel like he was pushing his preference on me. Price was unbelievable!! I mean, seriously, that many rooms for $2100? Who does that?! Just an overall excellent experience!

The person who took my call said he'd have the estimator call me ASAP to schedule a date and time for the estimate. I expected that the estimator would call me later that day or the next day. By the time he called (@4 days later), we'd already received 2 other estimates and decided which contractor we wanted to do the work. When the estimator finally called, he apologized and explained that he'd been out of town. I thanked him, but we weren't interested in getting another estimate at this point. Both of the Homm staff who I spoke to were very courteous. If I hadn't already received 2 viable estimates, I might have followed up with Homm. They may be very good painters, but someone needs to track their commitments more carefully.

They were very helpful and knowledgeable. Their price seems a bit high.

I phoned to get an estimate and the person I spoke to took down my contact details and then NOTHING. I was never contacted by this company and when I phoned, I was asked to leave my contact details again.

We found Homm through an Angie's list "Deal of the Day". We then met with Andres for a scope of work review and proposal. We initially thought the price was a bit higher than expected, but the work done was absolutely worth the cost. These rooms are high use areas for our lifestyle and the walls have taken some abuse over the years since the last painting. The house is also 45 years old and has settled a bit, requiring some surface prep work in addition to basic painting. The job was completed to our satisfaction. Communication with the foreman was very professional and easy, even for mid-job issues we wanted to make sure would be addressed (they all were). The Homm team was conscientious about our home and belongings and did a very professional job. The rooms look great! We will definitely consider using Homm as we look to update other rooms in our house in the future.

Overall, they did an excellent job start to finish. I would recommend them highly.

An excellent experience. Andres was responsive and very informed. The crew was prompt and the foreman, Roger, was quick to explain any problem before proceeding. The work was done carefully and neatly and the results are first-rate. Due the the quality of the workmanship and the professionalism of the entire staff, I feel I got real value for the money spent. And my house looks great.

Very well...Omar and his team were very meticulous, and definitely went above and beyond in a couple of areas. He painted some wood trim for me that I had not gotten around to painting myself (about 2 inches or so) and also did a fabulous job refinishing a rather ugly basement window frame, including removing some old silicone waterproofing foam and re-caulking the window. While they were not the cheapest quote I received, their level of service and professionaliism made it worth every penny.

The workers (there were several) were courteous and efficient. They were also inconsistent. The bathroom was done very sloppily, with paint drip marks on the walls, spillover onto the trim and damage to a mounted bathroom fixture. In another bathroom, they splashed cleanup paint onto the sink, wall and floor (which I did not notice until it was too late). The other two rooms fared better. I am pleased with the color choices in two rooms. But I regret the color Andres recommended (and I agreed with) for the basement; it is taupe, but it looks like dirty putty. I will have to repaint that entire room. As others reported, I had problems with dust all over the place from the prep work. Based on this, I would have expected fewer noticiable imperfections. The final cost was nearly double the estimate, which left me bewildered (and angry). I had been prepared to pay for a professional job, I just don't feel as though I got one. Andres offered to come back, but by then I just didn't want to see his team again. I will not use them again nor can I recommend them to anyone else. I could have gotten the same quality work for half the price with a couple of college students. For the price, I really expected a great job. This is the first time I have been disappointed using a company I found on Angies List. I really wish that I had had a better experience.

They were really great. They had the best bid. They were the only ones who met me; everybody else just came by and sent me estimates. They were good to work with. They came out. They got the work done in 4 days. Everything looks great.

Excellent. I can't say enough good things about Andres and his crew. His price was very competitive and his attention to detail was noteworthy. Highly professional and communicative. Work was done on time and to high standard. Brick portion of my house was very porous and he covered it well. Very pleased with the outcome. Highly recommend this provider.

Andres came to the house for a quote and understood exactly what we were looking for. He was very professional, prompt in our communications, and was committed to doing quality work. His team arrived on time (there must have 6 painters at one point, but at all times there were at least 3). Andres came by toward the beginning of the day to check on his team. I was appreciative of the protection of our furniture and floors as they worked. They put plastic coverings on all furniture, countertops, and cupboards. The work was very good, especially the trim work--which I believe was done without painter's tape by some very talented people! There are a lot of small spaces and crevices, which was painted very neatly. Prep work was generally good, but in the end, there is some inconsistency in certain spots with the level of smoothness of the drywall that can be seen in some light. This looks to be due to me using primer to cover up some dark samples we had painted on the wall and some patchwork that Homm had done. I would think a third coat of paint or maybe a layer of primer could have added more consistency throughout. The kitchen was left slightly dusty--maybe they could have given it the once over with a vacuum--but nothing major. I did not request that Homm address either of these minor concerns. I would use Homm again.

I called to schedule a meeting to discuss the project and I made an appointment within a couple days. The company representative arrived promptly and discussed the project with me in detail. The project had to be rescheduled once due to rain, and communication about the rescheduling was excellent. The work is outstanding. There's absolutely no mess in the yard from washing away the old paint.
