Homm Certified Painting Systems

Roger, Walter and a crew of several painters worked over four days to complete the job. There were two complications during the project. One is that we had some old wooden trim that had been painted with oil based paint. In order to paint this material with latex (and move the house to 100% latex paint), they first had to paint over it with a base coat of primer. This only became apparent during the course of the job, and added approximately $1000 to the cost above the initial estimate. The other glitch was that there were historically heavy rains during the course of the work. This raised the humidity in the house to abnormally high levels and caused bubbling and running in the paint during one day of work. I pointed out the problem areas to Walter and he sanded and repainted them without complaint. No complex job ever goes perfectly, so I saw Walter's willingness to re-do the work and correct the mistakes as a mark of good service.

Andres and Walter and his crew were great. Prompt, courteous, professional, and hard-working, I never saw any of them slacking off. They fixed the shoddy paint job the prior owners threw on, and fixed all the poor sheetrock "repair" the prior owners left us with as well. Stuck to the quoted price and time schedule. They encouraged us to look everything over carefully even after they left, saying they'd gladly return. Called them about a door that hadn't gotten completely painted (it was being repainted with the same color, so it wasn't easy to tell it had been overlooked) and they promptly and cheerfully returned. Given the scope of my 2-3 day job, I don't hold a small missed area against anyone-- it's bound to happen when you're painting an entire house top to bottom, in some areas with the same colors. They were even able to paint behind the toilet tank as if it weren't there. Highly recommended. Will use them next time for sure.

Work was delayed for a few months due to a very wet spring and summer. Andres was good about keeping us appraised of where we were on the schedule. Once the crew got started, the job went quickly. First, they power washed the exterior of the house. Then the crew put in several long days to get the painting done. Communication was good, the crew was courteous and did a good job of cleaning up after themselves. We are very happy with the results.

We were extremely pleased with the work done by Hõmm. For starters, the quotation was meticulous. The owner, Andres, came to the house to see what we wanted, and the quote came promptly and broke out our options clearly. It took quite some time to get the work scheduled, as they are busy, there was a very rainy spring and early summer, and because we had some travel scheduled. The price was not the cheapest we got, but it was fair -- and we were very concerned that the work be of good quality. A neighbor had used Hõmm before and was happy. The work itself could not have been better. The three-person crew was professional, and took great care with everything. They did a beautiful job. The crew chief, Walter, was extremely pleasant and easy to work with, and Andres came out while the job was in progress to check and to say hello. The results are great, and the house looks terrific. Our neighbor had work done by Hõmm at the same time and was equally pleased. I can recommend them highly and without qualification.

The owner, Andres M., contacted me promptly after receiving my Angie's list inquiry to set up a time to discuss the project. He arrived on time and we discussed the spaces to be painted and discussed colors. After agreeing to the proposal, we were able to get on the schedule quickly due to the weather. The first day, a six man crew led by Roger arrived on time and began the extensive preparation process. He walked with us through all of the areas to make sure that everything was correct. At the end of the first day all painting was done except for the kitchen as preparation was still in progress. The crew cleaned up before departing. The second day, a two man crew led by Walter arrived on time to finish the kitchen. Prior to leaving, the owner, Andres, arrived to inspect the job and address any concerns. There were none. Look no further. Call these guys.

Andres was fantastic from start to finish. His customer service was outstanding. He steered us to a good choice of stain and color coordination. His crew, lead by Roger and Walter, were professional and responsive to any questions we had. They were careful and cleaned up after every day. The house looks great. His approach of power washing and then determining the necessary carpentry makes sense and worked out very well. They replaced only the molding and siding pieces that showed wear. When I mentioned that I would like a metal attic fan painted to match the wall, they did that without question and without charging extra. In fact, the total price was very reasonable; not the lowest, but much lower than the high estimate we got. Without hesitation, we recommend that you work with Homm.

Crew showed up around 9 AM and finished around 5:30 PM. Kept a clean work site, very professional and courteous.

My experience with Homm was wonderful from start to finish. I had hired them to caulk, repair around windows, and to paint trim, shutters and front door. Beside window repair they found a large area of rot under the gutter which had been leaking for a long time. They put the gutter back up after repair and painting and the gutter works perfectly now. Andres came on the scheduled day and explained that the process and cost of construction would depend in what was found. The day the crew came they gave us the estimate which was figured into the painting and held true for the final cost. Andre always got back to me in a very timely manner. He also patiently helped me pick a new color for the trim which was different from the original but was what I was hoping to achieve. (Thank you Andres) The crew came on the scheduled day and were completely profession throughout. They were quiet and respectful-they had to enter and work from inside for part of the job. I found a small area of paint on a screen frame which had been painted and which they promptly cleaned and corrected. Other than that painting was perfectly executed. They were neat and there was no paint splatter either inside or out. I couldn't recommend Homm painting more. The house looks like new.

My residence is in excess of 100 years old and has wood siding. It had not been repainted for approximately 20 years prior to EPA Rules regarding lead based paint. The old paint was peeling and in many places was down to bare wood. It tested positive in several places for lead based paint. After interviewing several painting companies, Homm was the only one to describe to me the EPA requirements for re-mediating exterior lead based paint. Andres Matheu, the owner, clearly explained the new EPA Rules and how his company complied with them in practice. His crew did the most thorough preparation that I have ever seen. I had independently researched products for encapsulation of lead based paint and was particularly interested in ECOBOND LBP paint to be used as a primer. Andres took my suggestion and investigated the product from a professional point of view. He concluded that it would be appropriate for my residence and used it as a pre-primer to seal the residual lead based paint and the many places that preparation had taken the paint down to bare wood. After completing several exterior repairs, Homm applied their basic primer and two coats of exterior white paint. I am extremely satisfied with the result. Considering previous estimates for alternative treatment and the quality of Homm's work, I'm satisfied that the price was fair. Andres and his crews were exceptionally professional and a pleasure to work with. I have no reservation in recommending the company for similar projects.

These guys are great! We had to wait a few weeks to get on their schedule, but they were miracle workers for our old, tired deck. Our deck actually looks like new after Andres and his crew finished. We are VERY pleased with this company and will use them again.

Working with Homm Painting has been a positive experience. Andres is an excellent manager and pays very good attention to detail and is very thorough in his customer follow-up, from providing a proposal through project completion. We contracted with Homm on 2 separate occasions this year, the most recent which was the more extensive job of painting the exterior of our home. Homm had previously painted our home office, kitchen and bathroom, which had also been a positive experience with no complaints. The Homm painting crew is very courteous and professional and they do an excellent job, from prep work to final cleanup. I highly recommend Homm Painting and would not hesitate to engage their services in the future.

I worked with Andres at Homm and he was fantastic. The job was very labor intensive and Andres took a lot of time explaining what the problem was, how it was caused, and what, exactly, he and his team would do to repair them. He worked with me on my budget and was able to complete the work on time and even earlier than originally scheduled when my schedule changed. I would highly recommend Homm for painting and wall repair.

I found Hömm here on Angie's list, and they quickly showed up to provide an estimate. They were competing with three other contractors, and their estimate turned out to be in the middle of the price range, but very clear and easy to understand. All optional items have been clearly listed with prices. The warranty was also quite clear. The team showed up on time and did a great job. They repaired all blemishes, applied correct paint, and throughly cleaned the house after painting. The foreman remained on the premises the whole time, and asked questions whenever something was unclear. There were one or two mistakes, but they were quickly acknowledged, and corrected. When they felt they may not finish on the day they promised, more workers showed up to complete on time. I am very satisfied with this contractor.

Everything went great! We originally contacted Homm back in the Fall but due to other expenses decided to hold off repainting the house until Spring. Andres contacted us at the very end of winter to start scheduling. Of course, the project was at the mercy of the weather so there were some hold ups but nothing that could've been controlled by the company. They were always in touch to keep us posted on any delays. The crew was really nice and very professional. They took their time and the house looks GREAT! We are so happy with Homm and would highly recommend them to anyone.

Very professional. There were a few items that I noted and they came back the next day to review and correct. I don't know much about painting services, but felt the price was on the high side. However, the quality of the service and work is top notch. Overall, I was happy with the result and would recommend.

Working with Homm Certified Painting Systems was a very positive experience. All work was completed as promised. The painting crew, lead by Walter, were prompt, courteous and did professional work. I was pleasantly surprised that they completed the work in 1 ½ days. The crew arrived on time, were courteous and professional. Before starting to work, Walter reviewed the work plan with me, including the minor wall and ceiling repairs and colors. When the painting was completed, Walter confirmed that I was satisfied with the work. The crew did a good job of carefully moving and replacing the furniture, covering the furniture and floors. Also, they used plastic sheeting to separate the work area (dust from sanding) from the rest of my house. At the end of the day, the crew did a good job cleaning up. Andres was prompt in coming to my home to estimate the cost and emailed the proposal the next day. He promptly provided me with his license information and a certificate of insurance. I appreciated Andres' follow-up call to me to make certain I was happy with the painting. I would definitely hire Homm again.

Everything went very well. The guys were on time, neat, and polite. The job was completed as promised and the work quality was excellent. I liked that Andres also called to follow up with me afterwards to make sure I was satisfied.

Added additional services for painters. The cabinets painted didn't dry cleanly. The painters seemed like they were in a huge hurry the entire time. They cleaned up after themselves. I didn't appreciate them cleaning their brushes in my kitchen and bathroom sink even though they wiped it our afterwards. They were not so much professional. But they did arrive on time.

We had a great experience with Homm Painting Services. In fact, this project was the second we hired them for. They are very professional, Andres is easy to work worth, and they did the job exactly how we anticipated. They show up on time and the place was cleaned up very nicely when they left. The first job was a rental property and they painted the complete interior of that home. Our tenant was very happy with the job which is why we decided to hire them again. For the price, job well done, and professionalism of everyone involved we would definitely hire them again.
