This appliance repair service is under contract with Home Depot extended warranty. He is unreliable and rude. He came and claimed my refrigerator was broken (for 5th time in the two years since I bought it) because of dust on the back of the refrigerator. I had to press him and press him to keep checking since it had 5 repairs since I bought it two years ago. He reluctantly checked the compressor and found that there is almost no Freon which he says is due to a leak somewhere in the system. He ordered parts and was supposed to come at noon yesterday. He was 3 hours late and never called to say he was running behind. He brought a pump to take the Freon out and said he was going outside for a cigarette. After an hour I went out to find him and he was sound asleep in his car. I woke him up and he came in and put new Freon in the refrigerator. He left and the refrigerator stayed totally warm all night and the next morning. No cold air at all, even in the freezer. Before he came, the freezer was working fine. He came again this morning with a new canister of Freon and the pump. I asked him why he needed to put new Freon in again if it leaked out from yesterday, it would just leak again. He said "I am not answering any questions until I am finished." I told him I wanted to know what he was going to do since this is the 7th repair visit on a 2 year old refrigerator and I am trying to figure out what is going on. He re-stated that he was not going to answer any questions. I called Home Depot and told them what was happening. They said I could ask him to leave if I wanted but it would go on the warranty records that I had refused service. So, I let him stay. I asked him if he would at least leave me a written receipt when he left showing what repairs he had done. He refused to answer. I asked him if he heard me and he said "I heard you." Then he took out a torch with a flame and was doing something inside the back of the refrigerator with the torch and I wanted a record of this and I snapped a photo with my phone and he packed up and left. Told Home Depot that he couldn't work under those conditions, with me asking for an explanation of what he was doing. The bottom line is that my appliance is in worse condition than when he came yesterday. Yesterday the freezer was working, today nothing works and the motor that pushes air no longer runs. After he left, he told Home Depot that the refrigerator needed a "dryer" which only raises the questions of why he didn't know this yesterday, why he didn't say this and go get one today, why he put Freon in and tried to put all new Freon in again today. I don't think he had any idea what to do and didn't want to admit it to Home Depot because he has a contract with them, so he felt on the spot when I asked him to tell me what he was going to do today.
Description of Work: Was sent by Home Depot (Extended Warranty Dept) to repair refrigerator that is not cooling properly.

Terrible company !!! They came to do service work on a warranty issue with Home Depot . They ordered the wrong part and missed numerous appointments after making me confirm to a 4 hour window for the repair and then showed up 2 hours early . Reordered a new part which took a week . I had to make another appointment that they never showed up for. When I called them back the woman who answered the phone was belligerent and rude and then tried to schedule another appointment 1 and 1/2 weeks away. The first phone call for the repair was made the beginning of September and the unit is still not fixed. We had to go out and buy another dehumidifier since our finished basement was getting a very musty odor. Very nonprofessional company !!
Description of Work: Repair of a burned out controller panel on a LG dehumidifier .

Work has not be completed to get my Electorlux Dishwasher working.
Description of Work: Greater Metropolitan Appliance Service performs major appliance service for Lowe's stores in the Washington area. In my instance this included a 4 year service contract on appliances I purchased in 2008 which covered an Electrolux Gas Range and an Electrolux Dishwasher. The purchase was made at the Lowe's store in Chantilly VA. In October 2011 my Electrolux Dishwasher stopped working because of a WASH PUMP NOT OPERATING. The problem was logged in to Lowe's Customer Service on October 21, 2011. On November 21 the repairman arrived and replaced the pump. On the following day November 22 I attempted to use the Electrolux Dishwasher for the first time. During the cleaning cycle the machine stopped working and displayed a new error code LEAK DETECTOR. This required more parts to be ordered to fix the leak. The parts to fix the leak have arrived but as of today January 17, 2012 no appointment has been scheduled by the Metropolitan Office to complete the job. This has resulted in my waiting almost 3 months to get the Electrolux Dishwasher fixed. UPDATE: The Greater Metropolitan repairman finally arrived on Sat, January 28, 2012 to fix the Electrolux Dishwasher. He spent approximately two hours doing repairs to the hoses and clamps taking water to and from machine. Once he had finished, machine was turned on and immediately started leaking on our new hardwood floors. Additionally, the rubber seals on the door have torn and are now coming off. The Electrolux Model number is EWDW6505GS0 with Serial number TH82923678. I am now waiting for additional parts to arrive and another repair visit.
