First Pro Clean Inc

They were running late, but did not call to let me know. The lead man was very courteous and professional. My request was for air duct cleaning and dryer vent cleaning (I had a $49 coupon). When the service guy arrived, he looked at my furnace and reported mold. He did show me the cover with mold on it. He then checked one air vent and took a picture of it with his own personal phone which had several cracks on it. He told me that my vents were clean, but that I needed to get my return cleaned, which was not part of the Groupon. He hooked a large machine up which supposedly cleaned out my return. During this process, my braker tripped multiple times. He said it was because it was such a powerful machine. They also treated my air condition for mold. (supposedly) They charged me over $250.00! After they left, I realized that my outlets in my kitchen and dining room, weren't working. I went to check the brakers, but they were not tripped. I called the company, which goes by several different names: AMSEL, It's a Duct Time and First Pro Clean. I left several messages for the manager, but never received a returned call me back. I had to hire an electrician to come out and work on my outlets to get them working again. I continued to call the manager daily, until I finally got a hold of him. I told him that I wanted to be reimbursed for the electrician and he was supposed to ask his boss, but yet again I never heard back. Beware when buying Groupons for services performed by other companies outside of the city you live in!!

I was supposed to receive the basic air duct and dryer vent package. According to Amazon local where I got it from, it is supposed to include: "Basic air duct and dryer-vent cleaning package includes: air-duct cleaning for unlimited supply vents, one main duct, and one return, dryer-vent cleaning, plus mold inspection for air duct and furnace." The guy told me in order to go into the vents at all, it would cost an additional $75. I elected not to do that. He wanted to charge me $15 for an additional intake, but just took the $7 cash I had and pocketed it. He then came in with a compressor, blew air on all the air registers, the main intake, and the additional one he charged me for. He then cleaned the dryer vent from the outside with a brush attached to a hand-held drill, but only cleaned 5 feet of it (as is advertised in the voucher I bought). I didn't even bother asking how much extra to clean the rest. He didn't clean any of the ducts and never even went to look at the furnace. No mold inspection or anything was done. I had to move all the furniture myself out of the way of the ducts for him to get to it. That was as expected, but otherwise it was a pretty bad experience overall. He didn't seem all that interested in what he was doing and half the time was on the phone talking to some other people about personal things. Also, any of the dirt and dust he blew out of the registers and the lint that came out of the dryer vent, he just left where it fell. The receipt he had me sign (and gave me a copy of) wasn't filled out at all, just had the things I filled out, so it doesn't show at all the services I was supposed to get or what was done. I would not recommend using this company. To his credit, he did show up on time (about 10:15 for a 10-1 window) and when I called to schedule it, they were very quick about it.
