Repaired a recurring failure of the door to open properly

Took advantage of an Angie's List special offer to have our problematic garage door serviced. Ended up not only have the door repaired, but also painted. We had recurring problems with the door opener jamming and erratically stalling which are now completely eliminated. Additionally the door is now whisper quiet. Our garage door is now the smoothest operating and best looking in the neighborhood. |Service was prompt, professional and reasonaably priced. Would definatley refer to others looking for excellent service.

Everything went well. They came and replace the old metal rollers with new vinyl rollers, which did help the noise to some degree. He suggested a belt driven system to reduce the noise further. He adjusted the tension on the spring, which was needed because previously the door would not stay up on its own. Also adjusted the pressure that the opener would stop closing in the event that something obstructed it, a safety issue. He lubricated everything with WD-40, which I'm not 100% sure was the best kind of lubricant, but I'm sure it helped. I would consider them to replace the door when we decide to go that route.

Great experience from beginning to end. Jose was responsive on the phone, set a convenient service date and gave us a two-hour window to arrive. He arrived on the first minute of the first hour and was courteous, knowledgeable, professional and thorough. We have been manually raising and lowering our garage doors for months. In a couple of hours the problem was fixed: in addition to a thorough tune up of both doors, they recalibrated one door that had been badly out of alignment and wasn't working. The charge was fair, plus we got a $75 discount coupon on Angie's list (not reflected in the estimated cost above--$400 was his quote, we actually paid only $325 total with the discount). Finally, although was clear to everyone that our rickety old doors will need to be replaced eventually, he did not pressure us or try to upsell the purchase of new doors: he just told us what to look for and at our request, educated us on prices and future options. When the time comes, he will be our first and only call to install new garage doors and we'll be glad to be repeat customers.

Did not purchase their services. Representative presented himself well. Discussed the door replacements and all the service would contain. Seemed to be knowledgeable and presented a nice selection of doors and openers. He presented what I was looking for and provided a bottom line price. His price was 115% above the competitors. He did not mention about meeting his competitor's pricing. Did not get the warm and fuzzy that the job would be perfect.

They did a great job. Responsive, timely, and conscientious. Highly recommend.

They were OK based on my experience. The work they did was OK but the new rollers appeared cheaper than the ones that were taken out and he did some adjusting of the track which was good, but one thing I didn't like was that they didn't check the motor head and then later on I ended up having a loose connection. They said they don't touch the motor head and that prompted me to go up there to do it when they left. So that left mi flat. They checked all the brackets for the door but they didn't check the motor head and I found that kind of odd. So I was not that impressed. I spent the value of the big deal and they came out about a month or so after. I did not have a problem with that because they told me they had a big response to deal with.

Jose responded promptly over the phone, and set up a date that was convenient for the both of us. He was on time and very polite. He proceeded to work on my garage while I waited inside. Both springs were replaced with new springs (and new pulleys) in about an hour. He demonstrated the door and checked the rollers (which didn't need replacing just yet). He cleaned up the worksite after himself and gave advice on potential future maintenance and work. Thank you!

The overall service and project was excellent. He was so knowledgable about his craft and wanted to assist in any way he could. He made sure we understood the scope of work and showed us what he was fixing and why. We were in a bind and he was able to help us out. I would definitely use him again and would let everyone know what a professional he was and the company. I usually don't put stickers up of who I do business with but made sure that his sticker was right next to my garage door opener just in case. Nothing but positive things to say about this company. A must use if you need help with your garage.

The service man arrived on time. He looked over our garage door and did a tune-up. He told us the reason we had trouble with the door closing was that the type of springs in the door were for a wooden door and not a vinyl one like we currently have. He adjusted the springs so that door now closes properly. We ask for a estimate to fix one section of the door that was split near the top. The serviceman told my husband that he needed to find a supplier for the door before he could provide on estimate. However, we never received a call back or email with an estimate. We would certainly consider using this company again.

Jose did a great job! My garage door has never run so smoothly and quietly as it does now. I purchased a Big Deal which included the tune up and replacement of rollers, expecting that they would recommend hundreds of dollars of extra repairs, but Jose said the only extra work needed was to replace four pulleys at a cost of $40. He completed the work in a short amount of time and gave me an honest assessment of how many more years I could expect to get out of my 15 year old garage door. I will definitely call Family Prestige Garage Doors for future work, including replacement of the door.

Seeing the coupon on Angie's list, I called and explained the problem on Thursday 10/24. We have 10 year old builders grade (aka cheap) garage door and the spring broke. I sent a photo of the spring mechanism and Jose (the owner) said he could fix for 350 and then the coupon would give $75 off. Since I bought the coupon he said he would be able to come out the next day between 10 and 12. He arrived at about 11:30. He looked at the door, and complete replaced the entire torsion kit (with external spring). He also up-selled and replaced 12 rollers for another $85. He finished at 12: 45. Everything worked great and I paid the balance by check. The total price of 375 includes the discount of the coupon, the addition of the rollers and the tax.

It went well. No issues as such. Just the incorrect coupon as per service provider.

Family Prestige Garage Door just completed a garage door installation at our house yesterday. I am so pleased that I had to get this review posted today. We replaced our wooden garage door, the tracks and lift. The new door is insulated metal. The interior frame was also replaced due to water damage. Trim was added to the outside frame to accommodate the keyless entry system. We knew this would be an full replacement before contacting contractors. Mr. Jose Sandoval is a professional, knows the product lines and did not over-sell us on options. The bid was competitive with two others. Family Prestige won the job because they were the only company willing to replace the interior frame. The other providers wanted us to get a carpenter for that work which presented a coordination challenge. Mr. Sandoval and his associate arrived on time the day of the job and worked until it was finished which took about 7 hours. The outcome is as beautiful as a new garage door can get.

They did an excellent job. He knew exactly what needed to be done and now my garage door works perfectly, quietly and has a new spring set up that is the better match for it's size. His knowledge of what needed to be done was evident. He offered me several choices of how much to replace since I do have an older door, but I am very happy with the end results. I would definitely call this company if anything else goes on my older garage door system.

We purchased a big deal for the service, and it went very well. It's an old door, so he had to come back, because I think he fixed the spring and he had to come and make adjustments. It would never be right, but he did okay. The service, was good, positive, he was excited to be there. He was okay about coming back. He gave me a price on the age of my door.

they contacted me within a few days of purchasing the voucher. Showed up when they were supposed to. Did the work that was listed on the voucher. DIDN'T TRY TO UPCHARGE ME FOR ANYTHING THAT WASN'T NECESSARY. I would use these guys in the future.

It was fine. Nothing really stood out other than someone did come out very soon after we call and did the work. They weren't terribly friendly on the phone but that's not same they have to be either. Everybody has a different personality and that's fine with me. I think the young man who came out was more professional than the other guy that we talked to at the store.

Jose called and arranged a time to come out. He arrived at the very end of the time window we had coordinated, but went right to work despite the cold and rainy weather. I closed and opened the garage door so I could explain my concerns. He inspected the garage door, explained that it appeared to be overdue maintenance and all of the services he was going to perform, and even showed me the special lubricating spray that he uses. He worked around the mess in the garage from boxes and and quot;to selland quot; items strewn around, as he performed the service while we were still moving into our new home. Our squeaky, creaky garage door is now quiet and smooth. A job well done.

I liked them very much. He was very nice, very friendly and took care of it. The work was fine as far as I know. I haven't had any problems. He was good. He was very personable. The service provided was excellent.

For at least a year, our garage door had been making horrible noises and I noticed that one of the pulleys had loosened. As the sound grew louder and louder over time, eventually I became concerned that the door might come crashing down on our car. That's when we contracted with Jose. He completed the 7-point tune-up -- inspecting and servicing tracks and rails, adjusting the belt, balancing springs to property fit door specs, tightening and replacing missing or loose bolts or nuts, lubricating the door and opener, installing nylon rollers w/bearings, and inspecting and advising us as to what we needed to do to correct the problems that we had been having for over a year. Jose and his technician completed all that the Big Deal encompassed and also replaced some parts that needed to be done that were not part of the Big Deal, The additional charge included 2 sizeable discounts for parts they replaced. They did an excellent job and I highly recommend Jose to anyone who needs their garage doors fixed. We felt Jose was honest and worked hard to do the repairs that were needed. We have lived here for 34 years and I never recall the sound of the garage door being so quiet as it opens and closes. The sound -- or rather, the non-existent sound -- is wonderful!!
