Family Prestige Garage Doors

We had them tune-up the door and replace an additional part, and it went very well! I could definitely tell a difference after they did the work -- the door would occasionally stop about half way down, and they fixed that. We would use them again (although we no longer have garage doors). They were very prompt in calling me to schedule, and they did the work very quickly and professionally.

The company only spent 20 mins. on the work, whilst we paid for 1 hour and charged a travel fee of $100. Total costs of $225 for 20 mins. work ($675 / hour) and then when I politely explained this seemed expensive, I received a series of insulting e mails! I was totally stunned by both the service, charge and insults!

The rep called a few days in advance to schedule the service. On the date of service, he arrived on time. He was able to fix a part that was bent instead of ordering a new one. The whole process took about 10 minutes. I decided to get a garage door tune-up as well, which took about 20 minutes. He was very polite. Overall, I was very pleased with the service.

Everything went well, and it has been working fine so far. The torsion spring on one side on my two-car garage door had to be replaced after it snapped. Family Prestige Garage Door quoted a reasonable price ($350), and came within two days of my call (I was not in a special hurry). Two torsion springs were replaced: The one that snapped as well as the one on the other side (which likely would have needed to be replaced soon in any case). Jose Luis arrived as scheduled, and did a great job. It required a few hours of work, and everything appears to have been done professionally. All was left clean. He also adjusted (at no charge) the cables so that the garage door would close more tightly than it had before (there had previously been a small gap at the bottom on one side when the door was closed). A previous repairman who some years ago had replaced the garage door opener had not been able to get it to close as tightly. I am happy with the work done, and I would recommend Family Prestige Garage Doors to others.

Came out that day which was nice, but I wish I'd called someone else. They talked me into letting them replace a double door, which had two torsion springs in the existing setup, with only one torsion spring. He insisted that one bigger torsion spring should be sufficient and when I questioned that he said that all new construction homes now only use one. Later research online and discussion with other contractors proved different. Everyone still puts two torsion springs on new homes, so I feel like he blatently lied. My husband called later to try to resolve and made no progress. They basically said and quot;does the door work? Then it's fine.and quot; Not happy with their shady service and certainly won't be using again.

It went ok, door works fine. Too expensive for the services actually performed. Workers were a little pushy trying to convince me to do more. Overall, not bad or great

Arrived promptly, explained to inspection findings, carried out agreed upon work, provided estimate for future garage door replacement as needed.

Jose was very professional and kept me posted on all the phases of the project. His work was of excellent quality and we are very pleased with the Clopay garage doors and Lift Master belt drives that were installed.

Jose and his crew were there in a timely manner. They replaced and reinforce the framework that was not done correctly in the beginning. I was very pleased with the work and the outcome.

The service went very well. They did excellent work. They were very responsive and easy to schedule. I had them also had them tune up the garage door and had to purchase some parts for that as well. I thought the additional fee was reasonable for that extra service. Two people came out for the job and were great at explaining everything clearly. I could see based on the work he did he did exactly what he said he would. The service was miles above what I expected and it looks like a brand new door. He let me know if I had any other issues to call him and he would come take a look free of charge.

We purchased a special deal on Angie's list. They contacted us very quickly and set up an appt that suited my schedule. They emailed confirmation of time and date and the technician showed up within the two hour window. He replaced the rollers, tightened and lubricated the garage door mechanism. He also replaced a light that was not working. Great service and great value!

The repairman/technician from Family Prestige Garage Doors showed up on time, and was both friendly, professional and knowledgeable about his work. He immediately affixed the sensor, and ensured it was working. The technician was then glad to explain to me what I did not understand about our garage door keypad, patiently taking all the time it took to help set it up and get the keypad working for the first time since we moved in. The price for their services was more than reasonable, and we were exceedingly happy with their work. I'd recommend Family Prestige without hesitation to anyone who had a problem with their garage doors. Our experience with both their personnel and their work was excellent.

Absolutely superior service. Luis came out at 9 am on the same day I called to provide an estimate and the installer was there at 1:30 to put in the new door. The price was reasonable and the service was fast. The whole thing couldn't have gone better. Highly recommended!

GREAT,! My Angie's List request somehow reflected and our old address in Dulles, VA so the initial service date was scheduled for service in that area. Once we realized the address disconnect, the company had no problem re-scheduling us a few days later at a time that worked for us. They were prompt on arrival, very courteous, explained in layman's terms the problem and gave us options I for the repair process. We will definitely use Family Prestige Garage Door again if we have garage door problems.

I purchased the $99 tune up special and was satisfied with the service other that scheduling the appointment, which could have been more efficient. I filled out the automatic widget where I provided three days and times that would work for me but they didn't respond to that via AL. (I assume it is an Angie's List tool, not necessarily the businesses actual scheduling tool.) They finally called me two days after purchase at shortly before 5 pm and I couldn't get to my phone for a couple minutes. They left me a message re: scheduling and I immediately called back but no one picked up the line. Their message states that if you have reached them after hours (by then it was 4:56) this is the emergency line and not to leave a message unless it's an emergency. So I waiting until the following day in the early afternoon to call and I got the same message. I then call the number in the Angie's List profile but I got a technician in the field who asks if they can call me back because he doesn't have the schedule. So they called me two days after that to schedule ... all in all, not an easy or fast process to book the appointment and that's why I gave them a low score on responsiveness. The service on the garage door was good. The technician arrived during the window and was efficient. He did try to upsell me to replace the springs for over $200, which seemed like a lot, but wasn't too pushy about it when I declined. At the end, the door was tracking and rolling more smoothly and wasn't making the loud banging noise at a couple points after he was done. Aside from scheduling, I think the deal was a good value.

Jose was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable and an expert in his field. He didn't pressure-sell us anything, and answered all our questions completely and clearly. We were happily surprised he was willing to travel so far to service us - we're in Frederick County, Maryland, and he came from Alexandria, Virginia, and he had to make two trips to finish the job. Both times he arrived on time as scheduled. We will definitely call him again if we need another repair.

It went great. My single garage door which is in a condominium building is less than seven years old and there were no real problems. However, it was making a lot of noise and did not always move smoothly. The service person called shortly before my two hour appointment and quot;windowand quot; and arrived within the first 15 minutes of the appointment time. He was friendly and courteous and very professional. It went rather quickly (he replaced all the rollers) and when he was done we checked both the inside and outside activators to make sure it worked. He needed to make a slight adjustment and then it worked great--smoothly and with minimal noise. While he packed up I went and pulled my car around (I live in a Condo unit, so my car was out it front) and he stayed until I made sure I could still activate the door from my car, which I could. I was very satisfied and would use them again and recommend Family Prestige Garage Door to friends.

There were no troubles with scheduling. When they came out, they did the diagnostic and found out what was wrong. They had the needed parts with them and completed the repair that same day. They changed out some sensors for an additional cost. Everything turned out well.

I used this company because I liked the results from the door checkup they had previously provided on a special Amazon Local deal. During that visit, they replaced the rollers and performed other maintenance tasks. The result was a better and quieter operating door. Jose Jr. was the serviceman on that job and on this one. He did an excellent job on both occasions. He was on time, very professional but personable. I hope we don't have any more problems with the door, but if so, this is the company I will use.

The window we set up for them to stop by was from 8-10 a few days after I called. The guy they sent over arrived at 8 literally on the dot on my clock. I was originally under the impression that the service check involved actually fixing something, but it was just a diagnosis. My garage door set-up is about 13 years old and he told me that the noise when opening/closing the door and the crookedness when opening the door would be solved by doing a tune-up and replacing the pulleys/rollers. However I was told that the motor was probably at fault for the random stopping of the door at random points along the track. I had him do the tune-up and replacement of the pulleys/rollers hoping that would at least help the problem. Well after he finished up, we tested the door and it was much quieter and smoother than before. MUCH quieter and smoother. The door also wasn't stopping nearly as much as it did before on its way up and down. If the door stopping becomes a nuisance again, then I will take his advice and get a new motor. Otherwise, I consider the door to be in much better condition than it was before and am thrilled to get it working again. The technician I dealt with was courteous, respectful, and a pleasure to deal with. He even let me put two coupons together in one service call which every other service company I've dealt with (garage door related or not) wouldn't do. It was a great experience and if I do need to replace that door motor, I will definitely use this company to do it.
