Family Prestige Garage Doors

The chain had come off the opener motor. The service technician said the part that turned the chain had broken and either had to be repaired or I should just get a new motor. He indicated that they did not do that kind of repair. He was not pushy in me buying a new opener from them, but did provide an estimate. His estimate for a chain drive motor was $400 and for the belt drive was $550. He indicated he could provide a bit of discount on the belt drive motor. The only thing he really did was look at the opener and tell me the piece was broken. So it was hard to tell the quality of his work. I'm glad I only spent $55 for this. I subsequently called another company that provided comparable prices for the openers, but suggested that I buy the opener from a home improvement store and they would put it in for $150. This is what I did, and I saved over $150.

The technician actually showed up early (was waiting for me when I arrived home at the appointed time). He was very courteous, quickly performed a check of both garage doors/openers, and provided advice on some possible future repairs/adjustments as the doors age. Also adjusted the door sensitivity to correct some recurring issues (at no extra charge). Timely response to my initial call, and great service!

Overall they did a really good job. I will place a call to have them come out and assess the rubber on the bottom of the garage door, it seems to not seal properly.

Torsion spring was broken and the cables had fallen off. The first company came out and said they did not have the parts and could not repair it, but had to replace the top bar, springs, pulleys and possibly the track and sensor lights. Instead I called Luis for a second opinion and he was very helpful just over the phone explaining different things. So I told him to come out and meet at 4:30. He was actually early at 4:10 and I was running late, so he had to wait a half hour before I arrived - imagine a service person actually EARLY and then waiting for me! He confirmed that the first company was partly right - the top bar and springs were a system that most companies did not carry - more of a Home Depot or Lowe's DIY system. He could order the parts, but it would take longer to arrive. Instead his estimate was lower than the first company and could do it right then. He did not think the track would have to be replaced at all and the sensor light had just gotten bumped and the led light had fallen inside the sensor housing, so it was just a quick fix. He did recommend roller replacements, but I had heard that is not a difficult fix and youtube has some good videos on how to do it. Told me to lube it a few times a year. All in all, thought he was very honest, very prompt and worked quickly. He also has other people who do gutters and painting so made some other recommendations and if they are as good quality as he, then I would consider using them too

Luis and his team were great. They got right back to me in regards to my scheduling request, and were able to come on the first date that I had available. I had only planned on doing a tune up of a very old garage door, but Luis clearly laid out the price of fixing the door versus installing a new one. After comparing prices, I asked Luis to install a new garage door. They were able to replace the garage door the very next day! The door and installation cost me less than $800, which I thought was an incredibly fair price. He was also flexible, and allowed me to apply the coupon I had purchased to the new door installation, even though it was really only meant for tune ups. I would absolutely use Luis and his team again. Prompt, professional, and everything is working great. No more shuttering and faltering garage door!

We purchased the $99.00 deal to have the garage door in the house we just purchased tuned-up. It hadn't been closing properly, and we couldn't correct it (even after adjusting the sensors, closing mechanism, etc.) ourselves. Family Prestige called within 48 hours (on a weekend!) and scheduled for the following week. They discovered one of the rollers had gone off track, which they repaired, plus meticulously cleaned and greased the treads, and replaced with new rollers. As an aside, we asked them to repair a large crack in the (1940's era) door which was creating instability. They did a thoroughly professional job, including steel reinforcement (read: sturdy + we unable to detect the repair at all). Jose requested what we felt was very reasonable $75.00. Family Prestige was astonishingly prompt and easy to schedule, a rarity I find (especially to find ANYONE willing to come out weekend), The 2-man crew he sent was stellar. Highest recommend--we'll definitely call them again when we have to replace this thing down the road.

I purchased an Angies List deal: $75.00 for $150.00 worth of services. I purchased the deal on a Wednesday and they were able to come for service two days later. It was a slightly rough getting an understanding of what exactly could be done for the $150.00 BUT the company was very responsive and they were able to perform the tune-up and the minor adjustment to my garage door. I was very pleased with the technician who did a great job on my garage door. He was very knowledgeable and professional. He was diligent in servicing my garage door.

Two men arrived on time and immediately began work. Completed everything in about one hour. Gave estimate on additional work I asked about. Well done! I have another door just like the one they repaired which I may have them work on.

Provider contacted me immediately to schedule repair date. Tech arrived on time and complete work in about 30 minutes. Tech was very knowledgeable. Outstanding customer service and professionalism. I would recommend this provider to my friends and family.

This was an unusual situation. We had Prestige come out for an estimate which was $700 (with our $150 discount) for a door they had in stock and over $1000 for a door that needed to be ordered. The HOA determined we needed to order a door from a dealer in Fredericksburg. I called the dealer directly and the could install the required door for less than the $700 quote. I called Prestige to see if they would beat the price... they could not. so it was less expensive if I used the dealer. I'm out the $75 I spent, but maybe I can use it later.

The work was done professionally and promptly.

It went well. He explained what he was going to do but since I have a 2 car garage, he charged be double the price since he said the price was only for one door. But after thinking about it, I guess that seems fair, since it was twice as much work. The garage doors are more aligned and quiet now than they were before. He also gave me the option of replacing some additional things but I decided to wait and see if I have any additional problems with it. He was able to get my motion sensor lights working too, which I am very happy about, although it was my fault they were not working since you need to use an incandescent light bulb not a florescent one that I was using.

Excellent. I called at 10:00 and someone showed up by 12:30 and the work was done by 1:30.

I was initially upset about having the big deal go awry since the garage door opener listed in the deal isn't for sale anymore, and also upset about not being able to talk to the business owner. To be fair, it was the Friday before a holiday weekend and he was on vacation. Subsequent to getting a refund for the big deal, the owner did reach out to me to apologize again, and was able to sell me on a completely different garage door opener. The install experience with that was good and the technicians friendly.

That went okay. We didn't need a lot done; just a minor adjustment before selling our house.
