Family Prestige Garage Doors

On saturday March 14, 2015, Family Prestige garage door came out to repair my garage door, this was after another company came out the day before and told me that the door can not be repaired and that they would have to replace the door, everything will have to be replaced they wanted me to get a complete door replacement, which would cost me $2200.00 and they would give me a dscount of $100.00 which made it $2100.00. the door was half off the track on one side and the cable was off the reel on one side, also the rail was bent on one side, and the door was half way down. they said because it was warped sided the door would have to be replaced it was no good it was not bent just came down one sided and bent the rail, I told them I will call them when i want them to replace it. plus the door is only four years old. I went to Angie's List and found Family Prestige Garage door, and applide for their service on line they called me Saturday morning and sent some one out around 1:00pm he looked at the door and said no problem I can fix it, he had the door back on the track, cable back on and had the door working in less than twenty minutes, he made some more adjustments but I was very amased I know it could be repaired but not so quick. I will use them in the future with out hessitating and I will recommend them to any body who need their service, the gentleman that came out was very professional and knowledgeable about his job. AWESOME!!!

Jose contacted me quickly after I purchased one of the deals on Angie's list for his services. We set up an appointment that worked with both of our schedules and in a very timely manner. I have used this company's services in the past for a garage tune-up and replacement of my garage door. I highly recommend Jose and his company. He came to see what was wrong with my garage door. The only way I could get it to close the door was to hold down the button in my garage or on the keypad outside my garage. It would not shut with the remote or any other keypad automatically (after one touch as it usually does). He found one of the sensors misaligned and put it back into alignment. He showed me what he did so I could be aware of this in the future and possibly fix it myself it it happened again. He is a very fair and honest businessman who schedules the work to be done in a very timely manner. I would highly recommend him to anyone and will do business with him in the future for all my garage tune-up and issues in the future.

They were very friendly and helpful in doing my annual garage door tune up and inspection. They made many good suggestions and answered all my questions. No unnecessary work was pushed. It is clear they are in it for a long-term business relationship. I will definitely use them in the future.

They were very prompt and responsive. I had purchased a new garage door (though not a new motor) from them a bit over a year ago, and thought they were professional and reasonably priced at that time. So I called them when the door stopped working and he came over that afternoon. It was an easy fix, he gave me a 33% discount on the call since I was a returning customer, and I would definitely use them again.

Technician arrived on time and was very professional. Up until this point my overall experience was outstanding. Then the quote...since I was out town he called me to explain the spring was busted, so the pulley would also need replaced and it is recommended to do both sides. The cost for repair would be around $289, but the $49 service call would be deducted. Now without seeing the damage I could not challenge, but what I did know that was way too high for me. If I had an torsion spring type door I could understand the cost, but I didn't. In he end, I told him no thanks. When I returned I purchased all the parts at Lowe's for less than $50 and repaired the door in under an hour without needing any special tools?

The gentlemen who came out were extremely courteous and professional. They explained what they would be doing and why, completed the service quickly, did not leave any mess behind, and explained what had been done once the job was completed.

They came exactly when they said they would and were professional and efficient...providing us quickly with a great repaired door. We would definitely use them again and would recommend them highly as well.

This deal was purchased in error, but they responded appropriately and were nice.

My garage door motor is not working, I bought a new motor from home depot, and found Family prestige at Angie's List. I called at 11am, and two technicians came at 2pm to remove the old motor and installed new one, plus wall opener, door sensor and passcode keypad, all done in an hour and half. One technician explained everything and helped me set the passcode up on the keypad, he also programmed remote opener in the car. Friendly and professional. Job well done.

My garage door did not come all the way down to the bottom of the garage floor. It was off by an inch. This caused cold air to get into the garage. The technician adjusted the height of the garage door so it went lower to the ground, and he serviced the garage door motor to recognize when it hit the garage floor. He also took off the old weather stripping around the garage door and added a heaver grade insulation about the garage door. The result now is that garage door touches the floor, and the garage retains its heat.

Very professional, efficient and effective. Spend time explaining the product and also inserted a safety measure to stop the door from closing. (I guess this is now required by code). Superb service on a freezing cold day. Highly recommended.

It went very well. We couldn't open the garage at all so Family Prestige kindly added us to the end of their already long day. Traffic slowed them down a bit and they didn't get to my house until 6:30pm. By now it was dark and bitterly cold. An hour later we had a new garage door opener, with a new touch pad, outdoor key touch pad and two new remotes. Very professional.

Could not have been a better experience. Family Prestige is a highly professional company. They sent two highly qualified technicians to perform the work. They were prompt, efficient, and most importantly - excellent communicators. Family Prestige combines the expertise/ability of a large company with the dedication/customer service of a family run small business. I would not hesitate to use them again and highly recommend using them for any garage door installation, repair or maintenance.

My 20yr old garage door opener finally caved and figured that I replace the old with the new. After opening the new box I realized that it's beyond my capabilities, requires two or more people to do it and would've taken me 2-4 hours to probably complete it. Apparently it wasn't as simple as I thought. The new opener came with new chains, sensors, metal bars, and other accessories which all had to be replaced?NOT just the motor itself because it was not compatible/interchangeable with the old one. Contacted Jose immediately the next morning and requested same day service. Jose and his crew showed up same day as promised. His three man crew completed the job in a little over an hour and now it works like a charm. Very professional and friendly. Before I called I had hoped that the price would range from $65-$95, but I didn't shop around for prices because I was just happy that I didn't have to wait another day. After seeing the amount of effort and time that it took three people to complete the job, I think it was the best $125 that I had spent.

Excellent. Jose was friendly, repsonsive, punctual, professional and efficient. I tried to fix the door myself and got stuck. Jose quickly fixed all of the problems I had created.

Great. Arrived within window, worked fast and was honest. Not much more you could ask from someone to be honest.

Our garage doors were making an excessive amount of noise, we bought a big deal for $75 for $150 of services. We required new motor in one opener and installed security cables on the other door. They came out promptly, the day we bought the coupon, and charged reasonably for the repairs. They were very polite and informative. We requested proposals to replace our garage doors because we felt comfortable using them and their prices seemed very reasonable.

Excellent service...will call them again! Worked to set up an appointment matching my schedule, showed up on time, tune up to door and done quickly...I recommend them to anyone.

The Angie-advertised price was for a chain drive opener and when the tech suggested replacing our old belt drive with another belt drive for an extra $50, I asked what the difference was between them. The tech said they were exactly the same quality but the chain drive was significantly noisier. My wife balked at the extra cost and we opted for the chain drive. Big Mistake. Not only was it loud but it vibrated more and the garage is directly under the living room. After a couple of weeks with knowing that we had made a bad choice, we called Family Prestige back. They came back and looked at the set-up. They said after two-three weeks of use, they could not take it back and switch it out. However, there was a set of sound absorber pads that normally were an extra cost option which they would install for free to improve the situation. It really did make a difference and was much appreciated. .We have an old door and mechanism which contribute to the problem and we chose not to replace with a belt drive, so a lot of this is on us. Family Prestige gave us a fair initial price and were very responsive to our complaint. That is all that I can ask. I would use them again if I replace the door

The guys from Family Prestige were great. They arrived right on time and explained all of the options available to us. In the end, they installed a great new door opener with a quieter motor and battery backup in case of power outage. They made sure all of the remotes were programmed correctly and helped to set up the keypad on the outside of the garage. They were quick to offer several discounts including an Angie's List member discount. A very professional, friendly company.

I bought a big deal for this service and it turned out very well; they did a great job. They were very courteous and everything went great. They were professional and courteous when they came out. This company was easy to work with, very dependable and they did a great job. I would recommend them to anybody.

This the 3rd time this company has performed service for me. The 2nd time was the one that won me over. My door came off track in the middle of the night while returning home from work. And they promptly came out in the middle of the night and repaired it. And the cost was way below what I though they would charge for emergency call. Louise, was the repairman that came out each time and performed admirable job. Due to the age of my door and motor, he took measurements and will provide me with a quote that I am sure will be reasonable. Great company.

They repaired it pretty quickly. They also gave us recommendations on models to replace the optical sensors on the garage. I would recommend them to others. The technician was good. They got the job done in a couple of hours.
