Although I was scheduled for a specific time frame, due to the nasty weather that day, the installer could not arrive on time. It is completely understandable in the Metro DC area. What I greatly appreciated was the phone call I received in advance to let me know that the installer was running late. Once the installer arrived, he was very courteous, professional and very apologetic for running behind schedule. He still took the time to go over my deal with me to make sure that I understood what I was getting and the work that would be performed. What I noticed, the installer didn't rush due to the fact that he was behind schedule - I could tell he took pride in his work and the fact that he told me that he likes to make sure his customers are sastified, was an added comfort! After the installation was completed, the installer showed me what all was done and let me know that if I needed any future work done, I could call Family Prestige Garage Doors. I was completely satisfied with the service I received and would definately use them again as well as recommend them to others!

I was very disappointed with the way the crew handled the job. Scheduling the job was a hassle, and the cost was far higher than a "reconditioning" should be. I would caution others to do your homework and get several estimates before hiring anyone for this kind of work. They determined there was a problem with the chain mechanism and before asking me, they start installing a new system that cost over $600. By the time I found out, they had removed and disposed of my existing chain, rollers, etc (even though they were functional). I would have liked to know their assessment before dismantling my existing setup. I felt there was no option but to proceed and made sure that they installed the less expensive of various options. This was on a cold winter day and I felt sorry for the crew as well. When I asked about warranty they were cavalier and said I could just call the company....no specific paperwork was provided. Language barrier was also an issue since I speak only a little bit of Spanish. Later, some neighbors told me that I could have bought a whole new door for the price of this repair.

The job went very well. My garage door was not closing properly and I was not sure what needed to be done. The suggestions made by the provider were excellent. He suggested replacing the 20+ year old garage door opener to resolve some safety issues. Rollers and a tension spring were replaced to help the garage door open more easily. He also suggested a water seal around the door which really made the door look better when closed as well. The provider did not pressure me to replace or buy anything. He explained the reasons for doing the work and let me decide. The quality of the work was excellent. I would definitely use this provider again.

I could not close the door because the locking mechanism had become jammed. Family Prestige was able to come within two days. They corrected the locking mechanism and lubricated the moving parts. They taught me how to periodically lubricate certain parts of the garage door so that it would continue to operate smoothly. While here, they noticed that the operation of the door was rather noisy and so they corrected this so that it operates much more quietly now. The company is thoroughly professional and reasonably priced. I highly recommend Family Prestige.

The service provider was VERY friendly and helpful. He explained each step of the process, made suggestions for products that would give us a better experience, but allowed me to choose what we wanted to do by way of replacement. Because I had said we had only one broken opened, they were able to replace that one on the day they came to check it out, and scheduled a time for the very next morning to come back and do the other that we requested to be changed out on the spot. We thought there was an issue with the second garage door opened that was installed so they came back out to check. Turns out it was an issue with the garage door (not their problem or fault) and they very kindly fixed it for us at no charge. This company clearly values customer service and though they were more expensive than going to Home Depot and buying a garage door opened on your own, they were extremely professional, fast and knowledgeable about their product. We were thrilled with their service and would use them again in the future.

After confirming my appointment I had to cancel. The technicians were willing to wait until I arrived home, but I didn't know when that would be. It was agreed to return on Thursday. I was fairly certain the opener needed to be replaced, and the technicians confirmed that. They took down the broken unit and waited until I returned with the new unit. I showed the technician what unit I was going to purchase. He told me I needed an extender for the door to fully open, which I would not have known. The new unit was installed and the job finished in 90 minutes. They did a wonderful job. All the features of the new door were explained to me and the technician even installed the outside opener on the door frame. I greatly appreciate the effort they went to in accommodating my schedule. I will absolutely use them again

I chose this company based soley on their Angies List recommendations. Great call! They came out same day for a free estimate. Absolutely NO pressure. Gave us options to save money! We opted to change out both doors and they worked with us all the way. The doors were installed on a saturday and I was a bit concerned when only one man showed up. I gotta tell you, this guy could have installed them blindfolded. He obviously took great pride in his work and had them up and running like butter in no time flat! This is one of our best Angies List experiences yet :-)

Everything went very smoothly. They were very pleasant on the phone, and scheduled our appointment promptly while accommodating our busy work schedules. The day of our appointment, the team called ahead and were actually able to arrive a little early. They were very knowledgeable, pleasant and professional. In total, the bill would have been $450, but we paid $375 after the $75 off Angie's list coupon.

I purchased the voucher on 26 Sep 2015. I was contacted by Joe on 27 Sep to set up an appointment. They came out and serviced my garage door opener on 2 Oct around 11am in spite of the severe weather. Joe and his technician arrive and started working right away. They explained everything they were doing. They replaced all the rollers and oiled all parts. They were extremely efficient and quick. They were in and out within 40 minutes. My garage door opener is the original one installed at the time the house was built. It has not been this quite since it was installed.!! Great job Joe and team. Thank you Ms Faye

Excellent service. The entire business is extremely professional and responsive. Louis and his assistant arrived on time and immediately got to work, repairing and changing out the old parts on our two garage doors. Within thirty minutes they had the doors humming up and closing down softly. After they finished, we could not believe how quietly and well the doors functioned. We wished we had called sooner!

Very professional job - highly recommend. We just moved into the house and the garage doors were a mess, gaps everywhere, old openers that barely functioned, etc. These guys made them like new, and did a great job of sealing the doors. Even as they were walking me through at the end, he spotted a section that he didn't think was tight enough and redid it, even though it looked fine to me. Real attention to detail. Scheduling the estimate was easy, and they came out a couple of days later to do the work.

Would definitely recommend this company. They did an excellent job, where very helpful and professional and we are pleased with the results. Great customer service and nice people to deal with.

They also lubricated the moving parts and gave us some tips for ongoing maintenance -- all above and beyond what the basic service call includes. We were pleased.

Our garage door broke early in the morning - we knew the spring had broken. We called them based on all the other reviews. They scheduled us for early the next day. They arrived on time and immediately got to work. They replaced both coils. They were professional and explained what they did. They honored the Angie's list coupon. I would be happy to use them again.

Luis and his helper arrived when promised and was very professional and friendly. The work was completed as promised and he showed me the problems before repair was started and quoted the cost of the repair ahead of time. I could not have had a better experience and will recommend this company to anyone who needs this type of repairs.

I found Family Prestige Garage Doors on Angie's List and chose them based on the excellent reviews they received and their willingness to come out after normal working hours on emergency calls. The spring on our garage door had broken, which prevented the door from opening. It became an emergency for us because our car was in the garage and there was no way for us to open the door manually. I purchased the company's deal on Angie's List for a discount on an emergency call and then contacted them to see if they could come out that evening. Not only did a real live person pick up my call but they immediately understood our problem and promised someone would be at our house within an hour and half. Two technicians arrived within 45 minutes, muscled the door open and got work right away on changing the broken door spring. The technicians were so polite and knowledgable. They took the time to explain the problem and discuss options and pricing before the work began so there were no surprises. When I asked about possibly replacing our door opener, they provided options but didn't try to pressure me into a sale or into a particular option. I was so impressed with the company that we likely will call on them for more work in the very near future.

He said the coil was bad and that it would be 550 dollars to fix it, and for a new door would be 850 or 900 dollars to be replaced. Through research I found out that the door could be fixed for 200 dollars. Very dishonest and felt he was taking advantage of me.

Joe arrived early and he and his teammate got right to work. He explained everything as he inspected and told me that I needed my rollers replaced and my sensors lined up first, and then he would see if that would be enough. He did these things and the door worked fine, so he siad this would be enough for now. However, he also told me that my opener is over 10 years old and might last a while or could break down any time, as the life expectancy is usually not over 10 years. No guarantees, and to call them right away if it did and they would come out and work out a good deal for a new opener. I am very happy with the service and felt the technician went above and beyond what I expected. I will definitely use them again and would recommend to my neighbors.
