Dominion Carpet

We have been renovating our home for a year.One of the last things we have done is our flooring. My husband and I contacted several Carpet and Flooring companies in Northern Virginia for estimates. Most of the recommendations came from Angie's List. Joey a sales representative came and gave us the initial estimate. After receiving these estimates from various companies, we decided to use Dominon Carpet. Not only were the prices below all the estimates we received, but Joey's professionalism and friendliness and eagerness to please were what helped us make our decision. The installers for the hardwood floors, Duraceramic and carpet runners arrived on time each day; and in just over 2 full days, our flooring was complete. This process was one of the easier ones throughout our whole house renovation.

The work was scheduled quickly and Sam brought in (2) crews to work on both apartments the same day. It was a little hectic but the crews worked well together. They removed our rugs which they sent out for recycling, cleaned and checked the flooring underneath and began to lay down the underlayment which was a good qualilty product. The engineered wood and underlayment were manufactured by Bruce and Armstrong which are excellent and reputable products. Afterwards they laid down the wood quickly and finished with molding around the whole area and wood divisions between the rooms. The crews worked quickly, helped each other out and stopped working only for lunch. They completed both apartments in one day and left the areas spotless. After the work was completed, we admired each of our apartments with beautiful new floors. A few days later our third neighbor arranged with Sam to have his floors done also with the same wood. The crews were very professional and cooperative. They answered all our questions and responded to my concerns. It was a job well done and I highly recommend Dominion for any flooring installation!

The experience over all went well. Joey is fantastic on the phone and does everything he says he will do. He showed up for the estimate right on time and even called on his way. He has the lowest prices in town but you don't have to sacrifice quality which is great, he has a lot of experience in the industry and knows how to hire the right people to get the job done. On install day the crew came in not only on time, but even early to get a head start on the job. The job took about how long they said it would, running over may an hour or two longer, but for an all day job this is to be expected. The crew was neat and tidy. A job like this creates a lot of filth and dust and they were great about cleaning up after themselves. They were as minimally invasive as you can be doing a job of this size and tried to move furniture and things in such a way so that it still allowed for us to get around on the main floor. They have a great policy, where if something is not to your liking, they will replace it, or adjust it, or whatever needs to be done to your standard, to no extra cost to you. I did not have to even exercise this policy as things were done right the first time. Payment was easy as well. Joey took a deposit up front when we wrote the contract up and then collected the rest of the payment after the job was complete. This job was done to spruce up an 8 year old house that we are putting on the rental market. We are moving into a new home so won't have any floor needs for years to come, but when we do, I know I'm calling Dominion and asking for Joey and his crew!

We were getting ready to sell the house. We picked up the area rugs in the living room and dining room and discovered that our dogs had urinated on the rugs staining the hardwood beneath it. The stains were unfixable. I called in for estimates. One of the people we had in, Sam from Dominion Carpet, came in and immediately made me feel comfortable and secure in the fact that my floors would be in good hands. The original plan was to sand and restain them. Unfortunately, we discovered that the hardwood was, in fact, an engineered floor and sanding was not an option. Panicking, I called Sam and he very calmly told me to give him a little time and he?d come up with a solution. Within ½ hour he called back with just that. Lay a new engineered floor on the old one with the cost just going up minimally, in our opinion, from the original one. So, not only did his crew come in and lay a beautiful floor for us, but it was all done within the originally quoted time frame. As for the crew?.3 gentlemen came in at precisely the time quoted. They were professional, polite, informative when we had questions, and wasted no time getting down to work. We would not hesitate to call Sam at Dominion for any future needs and would recommend Sam at Dominion to anyone that asks.

The seams on the vinyl kitchen didn't line up perfectly but the overall job was acceptable.

We have a little more than 200 square feet. The experience went very well. They did a good job and were on time and got everything done in one day. Everything went well. The hardwood is holding up well with no problems at all. The price was good as well and they were all very professional. I would 100% use them again!

Do yourself a favor and call this company, you will save lots of money and the work is great

I just wanted to take the time to let you know that I am so happy with the service provided by Dominion Carpet! Your salesman Joey came to my home the day after I called for an appointment. He was on time and arrived with a smile on his face and plenty of samples for me to choose from. He explained all of my options to me and answered all of my questions, he is very knowledgeable. I have dealt with other companies before and did not feel as comfortable as I did with Joey. I didn't have to worry that I was paying too much or getting a sub-standard product. Joey arranged the install for me within 2 days. The crew showed up on time and had my house looking beautiful by the end of the day. I recommend Joey to all of my friends and neighbors. He is professional, polite, and pleasant.

Joey came out to our house and spent a great deal of time going over all the samples and explaining everything from A to Z. We felt vey at ease with him, they installers came out to the house on time and the job went super well, we can't wait to tell everyone about this wonderful company. They really seem to love their work, thank you so much

I've never had this happen before with a Big Deal or with an Angie's List provider. I purchased a Big Deal for wood floor refinishing on 8/31, hadn't heard from them by 9/12 so I emailed to get some information on scheduling since I work. I didn't get a response to my email so I called a couple weeks later and scheduled an appointment on Monday, Oct 8 with Joey. I specifically asked if they were working on that day because it was a Federal holiday and he said yes. He never showed and I got no answer at Dominion that day. I left a message and Joey called me back the next day, first saying that they had not been working even though I told him I had specifically asked him when I set the appointment if they would be working on the Federal holiday. I made another appointment with him for Friday, Oct 26, this time taking leave to be at the house for the appointment. Again, he never showed, never called. Fortunately, since the work hadn't been started I was able to get my money refunded through Angie's List.

Dominion Floors was the lowest price estimate I received for the work performed.

We had a great experience with this company and don't know what else to add beyond that! We would use this company again because we appreciated they were on time and completed our floor quickly, and it looks great!

Initially, the experience was a bit rocky, but when Sam, the owner, learned about the situation, he personally got involved and remedied it to my satisfaction. Due to his actions I am now completely satisfied.

It went well. I saw the materials, which was a solid oak floor, and was able to check into the materials before. We scheduled the install a month in advance. They delivered the product on the date they said they would. The workers arrived 2 days after delivery and got right to work. They finished the install in one day. We love our new floors and they did great work.

Wow. What a great company!!! I could not be happier with Dominion Carpet. They were the best priced by far and the work they did was at a level that exceeded all expectations. They did a great job. Great customer service, great price, great work, great follow up. I would recommend Dominion carpet to my own family!

It was great working with Dominion. They were caring and professional. They let me be worry free. And, they gave me BEAUTIFUL floors.

I had been considering purchasing flooring for my kitchen for over a year and was flip-flopping between hardwood and tile. I preferred the look of hardwood but the rest of the home was already hardwood and I knew matching new hardwood with the existing hardwood would be impossible. After going to a Big Box store and pricing hardwood vs. tile I realized hardwood floors were not only more attractive but also less expensive (labor). I decided to bite the bullet and purchased hardwood flooring that most resembled the flooring already in the home and set up a date for the Big Box store to come out and install. I was cruising Angie's List and came across Dominion Carpet and thought I would give them a call. Joey answered the phone and immediately I knew this company would be a better choice. Joey spent a great deal of time with me on the phone to go over the project I had in mind and gave me an on the spot estimate which was approximately $1000 less than the Big Box company was offering. That got my attention and he offered to come out an take a look at the project - THAT DAY! Joey came to the house (on time) and checked out the space and gave me several options to consider including the option to install unfinished red oak floors and refinish the entire first floor to match. When he made that suggestion I gawked just waiting for him to drop the $4000 bombshell but I was pleasantly surprised when he quoted me $2300, only $200 more than the Big Box store's quote for just installing the hardwood floors (which Joey explained were COMPLETELY the wrong hardwood anyways). Before signing the contract I had several questions and called and emailed Joey several times and I ALWAYS received a quick response and great information. I signed the contract with Dominion Carpet and within hours we had set up the installation for the next weekend. They dropped off the materials a few days before the install in order to have the wood properly acclimated to the home's humidity. Joey was always just a phone call or an email away and was extremely responsive whenever I contacted him with questions. The first day of the installation the installers arrived even earlier than they had said (MAJOR PLUS - THIS NEVER HAPPENS) and went straight to work. The only problem was that I had not had time to pick up some of the smaller items in the space but they moved EVERYTHING without any help and covered up anything that could be damaged. Throughout the installation (which took about 3 days) Joey called several times to make sure I did not have any questions or issues and was always available for my call and my MANY questions. The installers were extremely trustworthy as well and when I had a family emergency in the middle of the installation and was unable to return to the house for two days, they were diligent to lock the house up after they left. It was so comforting to know I could trust Dominion Carpet during that difficult time. When I returned home to see the finished product I felt like I was on an HGTV show and the BIG REVEAL was BEAUTIFUL! The floors were sparkling and the colors matched perfectly. The look was seamless. In fact, as an added bonus Joey and Dominion Carpet weaved the existing hardwood with the new hardwood which is an often costly extra for FREE. No transition strips on my floors :-) I could not be a happier customer and will return again and again. It is so rare to find such a gem of a company that offers both quality and a great price.

They showed up at exactly 9:00 AM on 18 September, as scheduled. They worked diligently throughout the day, returned the next day and worked that whole day. On Thursday, the 20th of September, they returned to finalize the flooring. They finished their job within the next 45 minutes. Unfortunately, there was a few minor issues that had to be resolved. When scheduled, they returned and completed the finishing touches without any supervision. All of the crews that performed the work did so in a diligent and professional manner. My wife and I are very happy with our new flooring. We would highly recommend Dominion Carpet flooring to anyone. Thanks Joey!!!

We called and Faith promptly answered the phone (late at night). Faith came and performed an assessment. She then came back with samples and we scheduled an installation date. The installers were very nice and good at their jobs. Faith then called to see if we were happy with our purchase and we are!

The guys were really great and helped us with information on other projects we had. I would rate them A overall. There was just a small problem that they will be back out to correct. They offered the lowest price by far and we will use them again if needed.

The crew came on the appointed date, carefully moved the furniture and ensured that the house was secured when leaving the job site. I had a few concerns about the damaged wood portion and I was not completely satisfied at first. I called Sam Lahlou and he was very responsive to my concerns. He sent his crew back to the house to redo the portions that I was not completely happy with. Sam guaranteed that he would do everything to refinish the floor until I am completely happy with it. He did come through with his promise. The price was the lowest amoung 4 estimates. I definitely recommend this company and would hire them again for any future carpet or hardwood floor needs I would have in the future.

I had been looking to replace my carpet for quite some time, but everyone was either too expensive or no longer available in my area. One day the maintenance guy was there and saw my wood samples and asked if I was interested in replacing my carpet with hardwood because he had just replaced his. I said yes and he called the owner of Dominion Carpet immediately, Mr. Sam Lahlou. I spoke with Mr. Lahlou and he agreed to come by my place later that Saturday evening. He and his colleague came by, took measurements and we discussed what I wanted. He made a couple of great suggestions and assured me that he could do everything and beat any estimate that I had been given. I followed them back to the warehouse to look at samples. I told him what I wanted and he went into the warehouse and showed me a sample of Mannington's hickory engineered wood with medium color variation and moderate graining. The color was in between the two pieces of wood I showed him and the planks were the 5" that I had requested. He also had enough in stock to cover my area, so that was a bonus and made for a better quote! :) I picked out my carpet. I wanted something thick, plush and a better quality than what I had. I am very indecisive, but I was out of there in record time. He gave me all of the samples to take home to see if I liked them in my space. He came by again on Tuesday evening and asked if we liked what I picked out and quoted me a price. The price was below what I had been quoted previously and it included replacing tile, something that I hadn't considered before. I am known to be the negotiator, but I didn't even try because I thought he was being more than fair and I was definitely getting top of the line quality materials! The carpet and padding was ordered and was there in less than a week. I had to wait a couple of weeks because I needed approval from my condo association to commence the work. In the meantime, I was still out shopping and comparing prices. Nothing came close to what Dominion had quoted me, especially for the quality that I was receiving, but I already knew that. :) During this period, I saw the maintenance guy's condo and his floors were very nice! I was also informed that they did flooring for multiple units in the community. I called Mr. Lahlou with several questions about installation, underlayments, padding, etc. My friends call me a contractor's nightmare! :( He didn't mind a bit! The phone was answered each and every time I called and my worries were put to rest. He was very professional and held my hand every step of the way and assured me that my place would look great once they finished. My place is absolutely stunning!! I admire my floors (especially the hardwood) on a daily basis and thank God for finding out about Dominion Carpet when I did. It was so worth it!! Also, Dominion was very flexible with scheduling. They even worked on weekends to replace the hardwood and carpet, so that we didn't have to take much time off from work. The workers were pleasant and very professional. They cut their materials outside so that they didn't leave a mess and vacuumed and cleaned up thoroughly afterwards. Again, I am very pleased with the outcome of my project(s)! It was great overall. It took a little more time than I expected, but I did not mind because the end result looked great.

We had a great experience using dominion carpet; Their Representative Sam was very professional and attentive. He answered every question we had and offered us a deal we couldn’t pass out. we didn't have to move our furniture The installers came on time that morning and were ready to work. we replaced our leaving room carpet with hard wood and changed the carpet in the 2 bedrooms. When I came home that evening i stood by the front door for some time admiring how beautiful my leaving room looked than walked toward the bedrooms,the new carpet smell was just so reviving I LOVED IT my house looked so beautiful. The next day we received a follow up call from Sam to check if we were satisfied with the installation. We were Very Satisfied!!! I definitely recommend Dominion carpet, Friendly and professional not to mention beautiful clean installation. my Husband and i are thinking of remodeling our kitchen in the near future and i am very exited to see what dominion carpet may have to offer.
