Cyprus Air Heating, Cooling and Fireplaces

The blades on my AC unit had stopped turning so I did not have cold air coming through my vents. The Cyprus technician quickly identified the problem, replaced the inoperable part, and ensured the unit was working properly. The entire process lasted about 30 minutes - the technician was very efficient.

They called to schedule the service and said someone would call that morning to give us a window, and they did. The Service Tech said they would arrive between 08:00 and 12:00 but probably closer to 10:00 and sure enough at 10:15 he arrived. He was very conscientious of keeping the area clean and made suggestion's to keep the life of the system in top shape. We did not have a filter to replace the used one and he offered to bring one by later that day. We thanked him but said we could get one ourselves. the service took approx. 30 minutes and he was gone to his next job. The whole process was painless and quick, just what you want in a routine maintenance service. We are always impressed by their service.

The servicing went well. He asked me if I had any questions about how to operate the remote's thermostat feature, etc. I've had the fireplace for many years now so I am familiar with the features. The fireplace continues to work well and I feel annual maintenance will keep it operating safely. I feel confident they know what they are doing to maintain the fireplace properly.

Overall, Cypress is a big fat "F"... However, changing it to a "D" as a result of recent attempts by Cypress to make it right- The fireplace now works properly and looks like it should- 15 months after the original purchase and install. Highlights of the disastrous experience include: Unit was bought & installed March 2014; Cypress addressed my concerns and completed installation June 2015. Advised install would take 1 day, however crew arrived at 11:30am day of install and only worked for 3 hours, piling boxes of pieces and parts and the 42" firebox in my living room - taking up much of my living room. It was several days later before they returned due my schedule.Installers/Technicians do not appear to know what they are doing. Communication with installers extremely difficult due to language barrier as English does not appear to be first language. We opted for a remote, no wall unit to power the fireplace. The fireplace did not work properly after install and Cypress returned at least 3 times to re-wire the configuration. I called manufacturer multiple times in an effort to assist with proper installation. Service Manager came out and removed several parts to get it to work indicating it was not properly installed/wired.. Install was to include gas line from the fireplace to the LP tank and replace existing gas line from kitchen cook top to LP tank. Installer argued with me and ultimately did not replace kitchen to LP tank gas line even though I was charged for installation at $27/foot. Cypress credited the cost of the nearly 40' of gas line that was paid for and not installed as part of recent resolution. Front "door" cover was replaced THREE times. First time screws missing and door scratched. Second time, door was scratched and service manager brought a can of FLAT BROWN SPRAY PAINT to repair - DOOR FINISH IS BRONZE - Seriously? Final door arrived last week, and much to our surprise and DELIGHT, Heat and Glo has redesigned the door- a HUGE improvement.Salesperson indicated unit had a blower that turned on/off based on unit thermostat settings - IT DID NOT. Cypress recently added this feature to make it function as it was described to us by salesman.I could go on, but I have listed the major points. Overall, love the fireplace. And, I am pleased Cypress took the steps to make it right.

It went fine. They were friendly. They did their job. Their price was good. They were responsive. All round, they were good.

I had no air conditioning and phoned for service at 8 pm. The tech arrived the very next morning and had the system cooling again in relatively short order (no parts needed). I have the Carrier Infinity series system with matching thermostat. The tech was thoroughly knowledgeable, and was able to access the service menus to diagnose the problem. (Techs from other companies have not been as knowledgeable). After making the necessary system adjustments, he thoroughly checked out the overall performance and provided a detailed reporting. Very professional and courteous.

I first started using Cyprus Air for my heating and cooling in 2007. They have always provided me with fast reliable service.

They were on time, keep me informed during the process and when done showed me the work, how to use the thermostat. The company then did a follow up call the same evening to check on the service provided.

Sales was excellent. The rep was very knowledgable about the products he was selling, the efficiencies gained, as well as the available tax credits. He was very responsive to follow up phone calls and questions. The install went off without a hitch. In about 6 hours, the 2 guys replaced the old furnace and installed a new AC compressor and all associated pipping. Additionally, they had to perform some custom work with a pump because our basement isn't equipped with a drain. Post-install, we realized that we should have priced in a whole home humidifier and a larger, more effective filter. The technician they sent out found that the duct work would have to be highly customized to fit the enhanced filter product I wanted, and suggested another equally effective product that wouldn't require all the customization. He saved me about $2000 with his knowledge of their products. The installer didn't install the humidifier like I wanted him to. Instead of tying it into the Carrier logic board, he made the humidifier operate off a different sensor. When I called Cyprus to enquire about the install, they did some research and the guy came back out the following day to fix it. Works great now! Finally, we had some issues with our hot water heater. Come to find out, the previous vendor we'd used to install it chose the wrong hot water heater for our exhaust configuration. The net result is that our family was at risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. Mind you, the tech came out to look at the system at 2PM. By 4:30 PM, same day, Cyprus was back out at our house with a new hot water heater and installed it within an hour and a half. I cannot recommend this company enough for your HVAC and water heating needs.

It went fine. They stayed until I had the air conditioner was up and running. Basically they left at 9:30 pm after being there at 9:30 am. They had some diffculty with running the electric from one side of the house to the other. Everyone was polite and they cleaned after themselves except where they had to put holes in the wall to run wire.

Cyprus air showed up around 10 and by 1:30 they were done. replaced my non-working hvac with puron hvac , checked circuit, connections and also removed any remining moisture/gas from pipes, They cleaned up everything afterwards.

The thing that most irritates me is that they were scheduled to come originally on 01/25/14. Nobody showed up as they didn't show up for the whole day. After that, they admitted to their lack of communication and they knew I was very upset (I already paid 1/2 of the total cost in early January). The manager agreed to lower my price by $200 and I agreed to having them come back. Then, they finally came and... (please read my earlier paragraph).

The salespeople were good and explained the different features well. The Installers came on time and were pleasant. They answered my questions with patience. However, after reading the manual I realized the installer arranged the embers over the gas outlets and they should have been clear. Some of the outlets did not have flames coming out. And, the vent was not closed completely and a draft was coming in the house. We could not close it since it was screwed in place. We did not know if it was supposed to be that way for safety reasons. We tried calling and talking to someone knowledgeable but I was just able to talk with an office person who answers phones. They did schedule for someone to come out and they came promptly within a couple days. They closed the vent and all was fine. The problem with the flames not coming out of the outlets resolved itself before they came out to the house. I was told that may happen occasionally and just turn it off and on until it works. Has not been an issue. We enjoy the fireplace now.

Very professional, arrived on time. We used a coupon and had them blow out the air ducts. House used to house a smoker, so it needed it. Very clean air afterwards. They wanted to sell us a deodorizer that they would blow through the system, but I think it was close to $100 extra, so we passed on that. We recommend this company and would use them again.

Once payment started little or no response to questions or requests.

We had a great experience overall. I marked a B for price because I think I could have gotten a little bit cheaper, but I probably would have had to shop around longer and waited another week. Our furnace had already been broken for a full week and it was freezing in the house. I gave a B for quality because there was some confusion between the estimator and the workers on where the filter should go. As a result they had to come back and complete the work on a second day and left a little bit of a mess behind (some of the old ductwork, some work scraps and black buildup from the old furnace). Overall a great experience and I would definitely use them again.

When we bought our house, it had a two ton ac unit and we needed a three ton. The old unit just couldn't keep up with the heat. We got an estimate from Cyprus and it was twice as much as the others we saw. I wouldn't recommend them based just on the price. I can't speak to their services.

My air ducts had not been cleaned in years. When I saw the ad for a specal price which was much lower than normal I was skepital but decided to try. When the three workers came they introduced themselves and asked me for any questions and proceeded to explain what they would be doing. They were very quick, efficient, and professional. Everything was clean and put back in place. The work couldn,t have been better if I has paid the regular price. The company should be very proud of their employees I highly recommend the company.

quick to press for the sale. lousey on installation follow up. Had to threaten to cancel the deal to in order to get a call back from the installation scheduler. Finally doneand ultimately all good, but a frustrating road to get here. No complaint with quality of work or attitude of installers.

When I threatened to contact the BBB They offered to drop the cost of the coolant if I would have them install a new air conditioning unit for $ 6000.00 plus some additional costs. The cost was way out of line because they used the existing air exchangers from the old unit. The workmen who came spoke no english but a supervisor who was bi-lingual dropped by 2 times while the work was in progress explained to me what was happening and politely answered my questions. The unit functioning but still has a small leak. I have it serviced by Fannon because I don't. trust Cyprus. I would not use not use Cyprus for any type of work for ANYTHING again.

Install went smoothly and didn't take very long. They tested the system for gas leaks and showed me how to use the system. They gave me all the materials and they made arrangements for the permit check. They did get a local permit and when county inspected the install all they did was have me turn system on and off -- a total waste of time and expense.

.They did great since everything was done in one day. It went smoothly when I first contacted them and they called to let me know when they were going to be there. They did not pressure me on purchasing something I did not want or need unlike other companies.

There was a little miscommunication about the initial appointment, but the sales person who came on Saturday morning by 9:15 am (window was 9 - 11) was terrific. Johnny had a sales trainee with him, and both men were very professional and personable. They took a look at the old system, asked some questions about what I was looking for in my replacement system, and they recommended a highly rated Carrier pair of units. Johnny explained the energy efficiency of the new units, and he also covered the specs for a unit one step up, and one step down. I didn't feel pressured to buy at all, but once I saw the price I felt like it was a good deal! They then proceeded to take detailed measurements of the existing system and took some photos so the installation team would know what they were dealing with (I have an older townhome, built in the '60s). The attention to detail was very reassuring. I got a call the day before the install to confirm the timeframe, and the installers showed up at about 8:30 am just as expected. After assessing the layout of the current system, they got right to work, and they remained focused on the task until it was completed about 7 hours later. There were some challenges encountered along the way, but after communicating with Johnny, he was able to work with the technicians to resolve those issues with no additional cost to me (the vent for the new system where the air filter would go was in a spot that wouldn't be easily accessible; they ended up building up a platform for the unit to sit on and a trap door where the filter could be put in below the system). Great workaround! They also added a shutoff for the gas furnace which my old unit didn't have. Johnny, my salesman, came by in the afternoon to check on things, so that was appreciated. Once the install was completed, they took the time to walk me through setting the thermostat, showing me the features of the new furnace, and just generally making sure I was pleased with the work. They cleaned up everything and left the area spotless. I was very impressed with their service, and I feel that I got a great deal on a new system. I look forward to a long-term relationship with Cypress Heating and Air!

We used their services twice. They did initial service when we first brought our new house and then the second time they came out, they were pretty good. The only thing that I would say that kind of irritated us a little bit was that they said we needed to do advanced duct cleaning for $800 and they didn't tell us this when they came out initially. They charged extra fees for weekend services which was a slight negative. It's just not clear what their services were and what they offered but they were professional. They came and left respectfully, took their shoes off, and were very mindful of the place.

Cyprus Air arrived on time to install the gas logs for two fireplaces and did a professional, high quality installation. The log set ordered for the bedroom were too large and they had to order another set. It arrived the next week so that installation could be completed in a timely manner. They also handled all of the permitting and inspections needed by Fairfax County. I am pleased to recommend their services.
