WITHIN A HR. SHE WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL, COURTEOUS AND OVERALL VERY HELPFUL. My house never had central A/C installed, always dealt with window units and central heat with oil furnace since there is no gas in my house. Oil is soooo expensive it was literally breaking me, I needed an alternative way of heating and cooling my house and Cyprus Air came out and provided the perfect solution. They installed a Hybrid System that uses electric heat and when the temp drops below 30 the oil kicks in and also installed a Central A/C system to my home. NO MORE WINDOW UNITS and 10 times less oil use per year. The job was done professionally and time efficient. I would highly recommend Cyprus Air to my friends and family and will use them for my annual maintenance on the systems as well. THANK YOU CYPRUS AIR!!

We just bought our house in Springfield, and the first thing we decided to do was to clean the air duct system because it had never been cleaned. Before the Cyprus Air guys came over our air was barely blowing with enough force but after they came out and cleaned the system our air was blowing with so much force and cooling down the house that a penguin could have lived in it. These guys were top notch and come prepared to work hard and suck out dust from each vent and return as well as maximizing the amount of air coming from the main system. I also liked how they checked for leaks in the ducts and were able to check for other problems my coils needed to be cleaned as well and they took care of that as well. I would highly recommend the Cyprus Air to all those who need a cleaning or for those who have just bought a house. It was some of the best money I have ever spent. :)

This is the first time I have ever submitted a review. This was the one time I believeI needed to express my satisfaction. I will admit it did not start off great however I cannot put into words how grateful I am at this point. My air conditioner went out on Friday July 25th. At first I was dealing with a warranty company (terrible experience) and one of their contractor (another bad experiende). Fast forward a week in a half later, I signed a contract with Cyprus Air on Saturday, August 2nd and received a great price for the new AC unit. Well, I ran into some issues on Monday (day of initial installation) with the scheduled installation. No one showed up so, I called the customer service office as you can imagine I was really upset because I was expecting to have my unit installed that day. To my surprise my call was answered by a really nice dispatcher. He allowed me to vent and then he apologized for the scheduing mix up and he informed me he would have a manager call me right back regarding the scheduling conflict. My install was not added to the master schedule due to the weekend. Well, I expected to receive a phone call from a team lead and not a manager as I was told. Much to my surprise the General Manager call me right back (within 10 minutes). . She was very patient and apologetic. She rescheduled my install for Tuesday morning and also provided a discount for my inconvenience. To go one step further she (General Manager) called me at 8am on Tuesday morning to confirm the install and to let me know that the installers would be there as scheduled. The installers showed up earlier than expected and were ready to work. They were very respectful and professional. I could not have asked for a better team of installers. They explained everything they were planning to do. I even went up in the Attic to check out the new system and the installer continue to answer all of my questions. They did not rush to get the job done they took their time. The installers even allowed me time to take pictures of my old evaporator coil. I need this information for the Home Warranty company. I was completely satisfied with my experience with Cyprus Air.

A/C stopped working and I called the company immediately for checking the unit on Thursday. They were able to arrange a technician come to check the unit on Saturday. It was determined that the coil system needs to be replaced. Parts was under warranty and labor will be approx. $1,200. I called a few places to obtain an estimate. It turned out Cyprus's price was most reasonable and cover parts and labor. A few days later, two technicians show up with parts and replaced the coil system. Both of them were professionalism and knowledgeable. We were very happy and satisfied their work and would highly recommend Cyprus for your A/C or heating work.

The crew were professional throughout and delivered on the project in a timely manner. They discussed the project in depth and came up with a product tailored to our needs. The installation was done in a professional manner and they even cleaned up the place and disposed of the old HVAC. Overall the company was a pleasure to deal with. From the beginning of the installation of the new furnace and air conditioning system to our house we did not have good experience about the technicians of Cyprus Air. First of all only one certified technician started working with one assistant (not certified technician) even though the assistant was working on one unit (out door air conditioner). Their job wasn't clean and instrument handling was not gentle. The new heating and A/C unit was installed on September, 2010 and after 8 months when we first tried to turn on the A/C as the summer approached noticed that the A/C unit is not working. Upon contacting Cyprus Air one technician came and told that there is a leak and not enough refrigerant left to the A/C unit and he presumably detected the leak and repair and filled the puron gas. Then the A/C unit started working. Now in June 2014 again the same problem appeared when we tried to start the A/C unit. We contacted again Cyprus Air and one technician came and found the same problem even though he wasn't able to detect the leak but told there was refrigerant left and the problem was the same. Now he told us to repair by doing easy sealant and refilling refrigerant and that would cost us approximately $850.00. Once we contacted the service manager of Cyprus Air and wanted to know whether the A/C unit was a faulty one. He tried to cover up about that issue. Later we tried to contact with him for the better suggestion. He never contacted with us and never picked up our phone. We tried to contact with the Carrier the manufacturing company but they are also not help full at all. At this point we feel like help less.
Description of Work: The Cyprus Air (Arlington, VA) is not a good company to go with. It spends lot of money for the advertisement but the technicians are not that experienced and the overall service is not good. Especially the service manager is the worst person to deal with. I strongly recommend to think twice before you go with this company for the heating and cooling system replacement.

They were effective. I thought it was overpriced for the service that they did. The work was done promptly and it was done right. He was very professional and very clean too. They were able to come out on a really short notice. I called in the morning and they came out later that day. It was around Christmas time and we have just gotten back from a trip. When we got home, we didn't have any heat.

I called on Saturday to schedule an appointment for Monday. They were very polite and said I'd be the first on the schedule at 8am on Monday morning. That part was good. Monday morning rolls around and I get a call at 745 saying the repair man would be at my house in 10-15 minutes. Great, they're holding true to their word... or so I thought. The worker showed up at 9am. I had called once and been told the repair man had to stop at home depot for supplies. Anyway, the two repair men come around to the back of the house and BEFORE looking at the unit and assessing the problem, he opens up a 3 ring binder to inform me of the charges I would incur. $89 for the call out and $388 for the repairs since I'm not a "HVAC Checkup Member" - that's for those that enter into a yearly contract and pay them between 24 and 144 dollars per month for them to make sure your AC unit is working properly. I asked how he knew what my charges would be before looking at the unit and his response was "well, that's just what they are going to be." A yellow flag went up for me! I told him that I wasn't going to pay that amount of money to fix an electrical issue to my AC Unit - this is when the gimmick began. He had a sheet of paper in his hands but said "let me call my boss to see if i can get the price lowered from 388." He called someone and talked to him for a few minutes... then handed me the sheet of paper that had been in his hands that informed me of the "HVAC Checkup Membership". He tells me that his boss said he could WAIVE THE ENTIRE $388 fee if i signed up for the membership. I asked him what the fee was for cancellation or termination on my end in case i moved, reassurances, etc. He tells me there's nothing.. now not believing anything he says at this point, I flip the page over to read the fine print. He says I'd have to pay a $299 cancellation fee AND the entirety of my contract. Knowingly attempted to deceive me. WATCH OUT FOR CYPRUS AIR. I sent them on their way and didn't pay a dime

We were happy with the workers and the product. Only one glitch. The installation team had to fish a new larger line through the floor joists. They avoided a lot of cutting of drywall and ceiling to install it, which normally would have been at our expense to repair. We approved the line entering the house higher up from the outside so it could go straight across and avoid interior cuts. Unfortunately, the first entry placed the line across our kitchen floor, damaging the wall board a bit inside. We authorized a second hole from outside a few inches lower, and all the work was completed with further problems. They sealed up the extra hole properly and caulked every thing. We found that they had left some supplies and debris, but they came back to get all of it a an hour later. They noted the damage on the kitchen wall on their final papers. We got a call a few days later asking to schedule to fix that wall. I do not know if the two who came were their contractors or subcontractors, but they were craftsmen. We can not see that there was ever any damage to wall board or paint (which we fortunately had) in our kitchen. I would use the company again, but trust that we will not have any cause to other than for routine maintenance inspections.
Description of Work: Installed new heat pump and air conditioning in our 33 year old town home. Service was prompt and done as scheduled. We appreciated their answering questions and making recommendations, with reasons. We chose them because the consultant said something we wanted to do was something that we would not be happy with if done. He explained why. Both other companies interviewed had said they'd do the extra run in their quotes. I think he saved us from an cold house in winter and warm house in summer.

The process was very easy. First, they inspected my house, second they explained to me the cleaning process, third they provided me recommendations that tailored in according with my home conditions then started their job. I just put new hardwood floor on my house so I required them to take care of my hard wood and they did it professionally without a scratch.

The service man arrived and introduced him self and listen to my concern/issues with the unit performance. I stated that the unit was not cooling as expected and was unable to achieve desired temperature. The service man put on his shoes protection covering and went upstairs to check out the furance in the attic, found everything to be operating 100%, also checked the air filter for serviceablity. Service man went outside to inspect the air condition unit and found that the puron refrigerant was low, after about 45 minutes and running several test and adding refrigerant, the unit was able to attained and maintain set temperature. The cooling issue was corrected and the service man explained what was causing the unit not to cool at the set desired setting. The unit was still under warranty and there was no cost for the service. The service man was very professional.
Description of Work: Service man came out on the 4th of July 2014 to check out my air condition not performing to home owner expectation. Service man called 30 minuted prior to arriving.

We were amazed at such wonderful service, as we have been using this company for a number of years but not had to deal with a problem before this time. On a very hot and humid Saturday afternoon in July, our house began to heat up. We could hear the air conditioning unit working but knew that something was obviously wrong. It was 4:30 p.m. and I called, hoping that we could get on their schedule for the first available service appointment. They came out in less than two hours and fixed the problem -- on a Saturday night! I am glad to know that the company we have been using for heating and air conditioning services is so responsive in an emergency situation. I feel lucky to have found them!
Description of Work: Emergency visit - inspected main level unit and replaced part so that air conditioning would function properly. The technician recommended cleaning air ducts and evaporator coil.

Bottom line up front: In good conscious, I could not recommend this company. I'm a Marine Veteran and I value integrity and respect. It is very unfortunate that this company does not. I paid over $5000 to have a new heating and cooling system installed. After one week the ac stopped working. I have a newborn,so sitting in a 90 degree house was completely unacceptable! It took many follow up calls and six appointments to my home to finally get the issue resolved. Part of the problem was the faulty installation and there was also an issue with the outdoor unit. Any REPUTABLE company would have made an offer in attempt to compensate me for all of the time wasted, hot days without air conditioning, and frustration. I'd have to say the most baffling part of this experience was dealing with the management team (Bill, Ray, and some whose names I did not get). As if the poor service, lack of responsiveness, and uncomfortable newborn wasn't enough to deal with, to add insult to injury they offered me the same offer they give to clients who write a positive review on Angie's list. How do I know this you may be wondering? Well, a day prior to speaking to the manager I provided positive feedback for one of the customer service representatives to the company and was offered a $100 credit to share that feedback on Angie's list. When I brought it to the manager's attention, he weakly replied that he's not the decision maker he was just passing along the message. Correct me if I'm wrong, but managers are empowered to make decisions. If the leadership of this company lacks integrity and does not respect their customers, is this the type of company you want to give your business to? To date, the management team has done nothing but given me the run around.

Our A/C unit stopped working on one of the hottest weeks of the summer. We woke up to a warm house, and the A/C unit was not functioning. We have an infant and my wife is pregnant again, so fans just weren't cooling the house enough. We called several companies for service, but due to the upcoming holiday weekend and the immediate need for service, we didn't have much luck. We found Cypress Air on Angie's List and they were able to fit us in. The technician determined that the A/C capacitor was bad and replaced the part. He also stated that the A/C fan motor was probably in need of replacing as well. He stated it's impossible to determine exactly when the fan motor will give out but that it will need to be replaced. He said we could get a couple of days out of it, or it could hold up for a couple of more years. However, since we were quoted nearly $1,000 for the fan motor, we opted to not replace it. Unfortunately, two-days later our unit quit functioning again. My wife again called Cypress to come out and inspect the unit and determine what the issue was. However, we were told that it would be a $149 service call fee for them to come back out again. We asked why we would be charged again, and we were told by the lady on the phone that"because the technician recommended that the fan motor be replaced." Needless to say, we opted to find another company. Upon further research, the cost to purchase an A/C capacitor is $20 or less, so we paid well in excess of that. Secondly, a company should stand by there work and if an issue arises within a short of window of the original repair, the good business practice would be to come out for free to follow-up on the issue. Ultimately, it was determined that we were unfortunate to only get two more days out of our fan motor. However, as I stated the good business practice would have been to come back out too see if it was the motor, or perhaps the newly installed capacitor was faulty. I guess Cypress is in the business of nickel and diming customers, rather that standing by their work and trying to establish lasting business relationships.

The air conditioner began to blow warm air in the evening after a very hot day. The system was turned off for about 2 hours and began to work again. But, I preferred to have it inspected to ensure everything was functioning and further use would not result in any long term wear or damage. Technician was courteous, professional, skilled. He made recommendations for future service requirements, which I appreciated for planning purposes. I have done business with this company for almost six years. The staff and technicians have always been courteous, professional, and skilled. They have always been responsive.
Description of Work: Air conditioner inspection due to lack of cooling. Technician checked the entire system and ensured measurements where within acceptable tolerances and everything was functioning properly.

I had duct cleaning services performed. When the technicians arrived, Cory introduced himself and his team and mentioned that they were from Cyprus Air Heating & Cooling. They all arrived with a smile on their face and willing to start working. The ducts were sanitized and deodorized. The technicians that arrived were professional, courteous and customer oriented. I had an absolute phenomenal experience with them. They were very clean and neat. They placed booties over their shoes and cover my hard wood floors, which was a plus. They performed a furnace inspection and provided recommendations for the furnace to work more efficiently. Above all, they were all very customer focused. What I sincerely appreciated is the fact that they kept me informed throughout the entire process. I highly recommend Cyprus Air Heating and Cooling to the customers. Excellent job! Continue with your high level of motivation and the desire to make the customer happy!

I initially spoke to a service rep at the dealer's show room. He explained the pros and cons of a variety of models. After selection, I was asked to measure my fire place (probably would have preferred a professional to do the measuring) but it worked out fine. I was also advised that I needed to have the chimney cleaned; however, the chimney sweep said that it would not have been necessary, but he cleaned it nonetheless. When the installed came, he suggested that I get the chimney cleaned, but I told him that it already had just been cleaned. I think this all was just a sales job. The fireplace was installed when promised, and the technician cleaned up nicely. All went relatively smoothly. After the initial appointment with the gas line inspector, which I needed to change, I contacted that office directly.

I acquired four quotes to replace my HVAC system. Cyprus Air was the cheapest and wanted $6,500.00 for a Carrier, 3.5 ton AC, and a Carrier, 90,000 BTU furnace. We agreed to the offer on a Saturday and the work was completed the following Tuesday. The salesman was very knowledgable and professional. The technicians were friendly, thorough, and professional. They arrived at the scheduled time of 11:00 am and completed the job before 6:00 pm. They used tarps throughout the house and cleaned up after themselves. I was more than satisfied with Cyprus Air and I will continue to utilize their services.

They came out on April 5th for the sales call, and the work started on April 22nd. We were told it would take 7-10 days, and it took nearly 4 mos. They said a lot of it was due to the parts not coming in. We didn't even have them finish the carpentry because we were so frustrated -- we brought someone else out. I think it was problem with the initial design from the salesperson. We had an inspector come out who told us that we couldn't even have a wooden mantle because of space constraints -- even though we'd waited so long to get it in. It was a poor design from the beginning. Also, most of the time I didn't know when they were coming. They did follow up with me after I had a second opinion as to why my new fireplace wasn't functioning properly. Our original point person was very apologetic and energetic about helping us to resolve the problem -- if there really was a problem. We are enlisting a third fireplace company to come out and do check.
Description of Work: They installed a gas fireplace for us. We also remodeled the area the fireplace was in.

Service technician showed up on time, was professional, and conducted the service in a manner that evidenced being well trained. He was very courteous and responsive to all questions. I've found Cyprus to be an excellent company with which to do business!
