CUTTING EDGE LAWN & LANDSCAPING LLC

I initially started using Cutting Edge for their lawn maintenance service (which has been excellent), and when I started looking into reworking my landscape, I thought of them, first. Although I checked with a couple of companies, Cutting Edge seemed the most creative and knowledgeable, not only in what plants work where, but *why* (which allowed them to describe how the plants would work together). They didn't treat my property as a cut-and-paste landscape plan. They worked with me for 5 months and were very responsive with ideas and edits to the plan. Whenever I described my vision for an area, they had *excellent* ideas on what could work and how it tied together with the rest of my existing landscape. They were easy to communicate with (e-mail, phone, in person), and I was really impressed by the end result. They stood by their work and never shied away from making sure I was happy with what they did. They were professional in all of their service, and they got the plants in exactly according to the plan and what I wanted. I also had them build a new fence around my heat pump and cut new pavers for my side yard, although I decided not to have them build a new stone retaining wall at this time (so, they do more than just landscape). The folks who worked with me worked *really* hard to help me see what I wanted out of the yard (I had some ideas, but they helped flesh them out) - and then to implement that vision. They really took care of everything. I initially thought their cost was a little high, but when I looked into the cost for the plants I would get if I bought them at a nursery, the price seemed pretty in line (and then add in the cost of my time with planting). I highly recommend Cutting Edge for their landscape design and maintenance. Kevin and Brian are great!

Contract was for the installation of 100 sq ft paver. Our need was a 4'x25'= 100sq ft, walkway which was agreed upon. The end result was 4'x21'; four feet short! It was corrected/completed to four days later.

Work was done to very high quality. Communication was excellent. Very happy with the work.

Everything went extremely well. The work was done as promised when it was promised. All was very professional and the design was extremely exciting.

Honest, responsive, down-to earth, friendly, and they listen!!! I did a ton of research on Angie's list and interviewed three landscapers (two other companies didn't call me back--I originally contacted five). Bob and Cutting Edge were far and away the best value and easiest to work with. If you want someone who will consider every element of landscape design--climate, placement/sun, aesthetics, safe for pets/kids, fast- or slow-growing, good for screening, what is worth/not worth the money, etc. etc., look no further. I learned so much from Bob on our first visit--he freely dispensed great advice on removing ivy from trees and the side of house, ground cover, and cutting down trees. He was so friendly at first I thought he was perhaps a great salesman, but the back-and-forth (we shared at least four long emails on ideas), his expertise on plants (even choosing less expensive-yet-better options), and his willingness to stay within budget yet deliver exactly what I wanted proved him to be a genuine professional. He wants more than anything to make his customers happy and deliver a beautiful result. I also loved the fact that he was EXCITED to collaborate--I had more than one conversation with other companys' landscape "prima donnas" who had only their (very, very expensive) vision and used latin species names to put me in my place. With Bob, I would email him ideas and he'd let me know if they could work, or if not (too shady or whatever), suggest something with the same look or feel. We live in a very expensive neighborhood despite the fact that we are a modest military family, and Bob was the one contractor who actually took our budget seriously. You might notice we didn't actually hire Cutting Edge--because, unfortunately, we were hit with a large, unexpected expense that stopped our plans in their tracks. Even when I let Bob know we couldn't move forward, he responded with grace and good advice. You get a real sense of a person when you have to say no to them, and Bob showed he is a man of great integrity--and is smart enough to know that being a great business person means doing the right thing even if the rewards take years to follow.

So not really a big project but I got good communication from Bob, the salesman/foreman. I really liked the detailed they put into the quote. Had a couple of tweaks along the way and Bob was very receptive on getting changes back to me fast. I rated them a B on price b/c they were high of middle of the road on the quotes I got. However I think they gave me the best Value, which is way more important. During the job one of the guys left the gate open on a windy day, resulting in a broken latch. Honest mistake, could have easy have been me. The owner, Kevin, communicated with me quickly and came out two days later to fix the gate. Two things struck me, Kevin's quick response and how the gate was fixed. He basically took the whole gate apart to make the fix....which was the right way to do it. To me this this speaks volumes about the quality of the company. highly recommend!

It went fine. I bought a "big deal" for a 100 sq ft. patio or walkway but we increased the size to 12 x 12 patio. Kevin, came out and talked about the install however on the day of the installation John came and determined the job was a bit more complicated than he was told. Fill dirt was needed which increased the cost and a minor retaining wall was needed which my husband constructed. Overall, I'd hire them again and we're very pleased with the patio. They seemed honest, quick to respond and very easy to work with.

Everything looks amazing. The list was over a period of time so I used a recent date when they shoveled snow for me.

They gave me two different estimates at first to either have just one or two sections done. I chose to have two sections done. They did a good job. They did have to come back out and replace some plants that they intitially planted that had died, I was happy about that.

They did a wonderful job landscaping my yard which was 6 months overgrown with leaves and she's done a wonderful job cleaning my house. She's a good housekeeper. I called 3 landscaping groups and 2 of them wouldn't bid on it and they third bid $7500 so I thought that came out pretty good. They really helped me a lot. I am very happy with all their work. I had to tell Angela not to come so early in the morning because she was here at 8 a.m. and I said I don't get up that early. She'll be here next week to do some housekeeping for me.

Everything went like clock work. The estimator arrived on time, assessed the job and sent me a price later in the day via email,. I agreed to the price and set a date. The workers arrived on time and completed the job in a very professional manner. I was extremely happy with the entire process and the end results.

I was originally given an estimate for 5 days, 3 men for a large sum. I countered with a daily cost for 3 men, with 3 days maximum. The counter proposal was accepted. The finished in 2 days, and did a very good job. All the fallen wood was handled the way I wanted it to be, and the brush was removed.

I've been very impressed with the folks at Cutting Edge Landscape for my lawn maintenance. I purchased my first house last year and went through three landscape companies trying to find reliable folks to do my lawn. I have been working with Cutting Edge for the past 3 months, and I really like them for the following reasons: I can easily communicate my requests (if I have any changes), they *respond* to acknowledge or ask questions, I get monthly invoices which are accurate, they provide many other services other than lawn mowing, and they are nice folks who obviously are very concerned about the quality of their work. In addition, they really know plants and understand how to take care of them. Walking with Kevin around my property, he identified (correctly) the types and varieties of trees, bushes and flowers in my yard and helped me understand how they would care for them. Based on what they have done, I trust their recommendations - and their recommendations make sense! They were willing to tailor their service to exactly what I wanted and needed, and followed up to make sure I was happy. They provide more value than any of the other landscaping companies I've worked with - and they actually do the work they say they are going to do. I have been very happy with Cutting Edge Landscape, and I look forward to working with them for many seasons in the future.

Cutting Edge did an excellent job all around. From their responsiveness in providing an estimate, to scheduling the work, showing up on time, to the quality of the design and its execution, we were extremely pleased with the experience. Very professional, wonderful job. Everyone with whom we spoke (designer, project managers, etc.) was very helpful and responsive. Would definitely recommend! A++++!

My job was fairly small since it was an townhouse yard. When I contacted Cutting Edge, they scheduled me for an estimate on the next work day and they showed up on schedule. Brian was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Based on my location and size, he thought they'd be able to squeeze it in since they already had a job in the same area. They showed up 4 days later and did the front yard. The crew did not do the back yard, but when i contacted Brian, he sent them back on the next work day. The front and back yard look immaculate. They trimmed the shrubs and tree, mulched, and most importantly replaced my five dead bushes. Just in time for the HOA inspection too! Just as important, I was impressed with Brian's customer service and scheduling. I know it's high season for landscaping companies and i really appreciated that they worked with me to get this job done. I would use them again.

The crew is excellent. The garden is beautiful and well maintained. We really don't have to do much during the season to enjoy it! Highly recommended.

Had a little trouble scheduling (but after all of the snow days so understandable), but then company called and actually scheduled it sooner which was great. Work done as expected, cleaned up well, and worked quickly. Would definitely use again.

They performed the work well. Removed all debris and left the yard looking great. Look forward to using them on a regular basis.

I have used this company for two years now and they go beyond the norm to do a great job. Their conduct is very professional, and they have a foreman on site that you can talk things over with if necessary. I highly recommend them!

It was great and I liked them. I used them for a couple of years. They did everything they said they were going to do and they were very professional. They worked with the tenants so I really didn't have to work with them. The billing was very easy and painless so I didn't have to do anything. I would use them again.

The representative, Brian, showed up and immediately provided a very casual and no-pressure consultation on the services I would need with my new home. He was very professional, not looking for up-selling and over-servicing, but instead recommending a smart step-by-step approach to evaluating my outdoor property (which was at the time covered in leaves up to 6 inches or more in one place). His recommendation was to first remove the leaves, see what we had, and then plan and set a good time to get started in the spring (and not to waste any time or money on services that were not beneficial during the end of fall/winter clean up). He also provided contacts for contractors that could do indoor remodeling and tree removal that he knew. The biggest difference between Cutting Edge and its competition was the professionalism and the level of authentic knowledge Brian had about my trees, the plants, and even the work done by prior owners (who were handy and did work themselves, in stages around the property). We have decided to wait, not due to price (which was fair), but because I wanted to remove the leaves myself and I am still thinking about what I want to do with the property (another recommendation from Brian and Cutting Edge) - so once I am prepared to begin work in the spring - they will be the only company I call.

Cutting Edge has been absolutely fantastic. The full range of things they are able to do at competitive prices is impressive. Our relatively small side yard looks far more expansive and gorgeous due to their design--they were willing to work through multiple design and price options, meeting with us in person several times and communicating regularly via phone and email. Many services have lost sight of what is most important--the ability to reach and talk with people. Every email I sent or phone call I made to Cutting Edge was returned promptly and everything was explained in great detail. They continued to work with us within our budget to get the look and functionality we wanted out of our urban yard. They even suggested using a small area for a vegetable patch which we absolutely love. While their estimate was on par with other services, we could do more within that price with Cutting Edge than other companies. They also have a great guarantee on plants and quickly replaced the one bush that had not survived. We could not be happier.

They were a half hour late or more. However, I had no criticism of them because we had intense rain so it was not their fault they did not arrive on time. I was very happy with them.

I am very happy with them. The crew was very courteous. They were very hard workers. I highly recommend them. They do high quality work.
