They were very prompt in returning my call during a heat wave. They were able to make an apt with me for the next business day. They were very prompt on arrival and professional. The service only took about an hour so felt the $300 price tag was a bit high. But I believe if we have any further problems, they will return. And due to their professionalism, I would call them again.

Excellent service. On Sunday afternoon, July 24, my A/C did not appear to be working. I called Cosmos to see how much extra it would be for them to come out Sunday. I decided the extra cost wasn't worth it and made an appointment for Monday morning. Monday morning two repairmen arrived on time and went straight to work. They quickly disagnosed the problem and fixed the problem, a blown capacitor and booster in the outside unit. Then they performed routine maintenance and had the A/C back and working within about an hour. Before they left they pointed out a small crack in the drain pan and told me it is only a small leak and should be fine. On Tuesday night, July 25, I went down to the basement to get something and found a lot of water in the floor near the A/C unit and the filter so went that it tore up as I pulled it out. I called Cosmos back and they agreed to have the same guys come out the next morning. On Wednesday morning, the same two guys showed up promptly and on time. After I showed them where I saw a leak from, they again diagnosed the problem and fixed it by replacing the drain pan and thoroughly cleaing the coils. After an hour or so the A/C was back together, working, and no longer leaking. As they were leaving, they told me the filter I was using was the wrong size and was the reason the coils were really dirty and told me the proper size to use. Furthermore, they did the service on Wednesday, including the cleaning and replacing the drain pan for FREE. I appreciate the work Cosmos did and would reccomend them to anyone.

Contacted Cosmos through Angie's list. He was here within 2 hours. Checked the fuse first to make sure it was working, then opened unit and immediately said the capacitor was broken. Showed me that it was broken and showed me the new one (to compare). Gave me a price** to fix the capacitor and wanted to included a booster. When I asked he did give me the cost without the booster. We went for the price without the booster. While his partner plugged in the capacitor (took all of 1 minute, if that) I was asking him about the age of our unit. He seemed knowledgeable and and answered all my questions. Also suggested some maintenance work but admitted it will be cheaper in the off season. (liked that honesty and we will be calling him during the off season for this) **I don't know if it is industry standard, but they did charge me $150 for the part (capacitor). I looked it up and the price on the web was $35. (For the same one put on). That is one h*** of a mark-up. I know these guys are in business to make a buck, but I am sure he gets it cheaper than I could find it then charges 4-5 times what he paid. Didn't think about it till later, but I wish he would have checked the Freon level while he was here. Had already paid the service fee and feel that would have been something easy to do and why not just check it while here. This is why a B was given.

My family and I woke up on Sunday to discovered that the AC was not working at all. My parents are elderly and have health issues. I wanted to get the problem fixed as soon as possible. I called around all the shops on Angie list near my area. I quickly realized not many places work on Sundays. I also realized that when I called the big companies, I had to talk to a dispatcher who took down my info and tell me she will relay to a field technician. But she had no idea when a technician is available or when they will return my call. When I called Cosmos, I spoke directly to Gus the owner. He was upfront about the premium cost to come out on Sundays ($145) versus the normal rate on weekdays ($95). He came out to my house within two hours of my call. Gus was courteous when I met him and offered to take off his shoes when entering my house. He quickly diagnosed the problem. While fixing it, he was careful not to have the water run off damage my carpet. I appreciated this level of care. I also asked him to install a programmable thermostat I brought from Home Depot. He did this for an additional fee ($50). He made sure to test out the new device by turning on the heat and cool. Before he left, he asked me to turn my outdoor water hose on. Gus sprayed down my AC unit to get rid of the pollen. This was above and beyond the service I paid for. He honored the $20 discount for my Angie List membership on the final bill.

I called at 7 am after discovering a wet basement floor and water under the furnace in the utility room. The techs were scheduled to come between 10 and 11 am. They were to my house by 10:15am. The problem was diagnosed and fixed promptly, and I was given the option to purchase a switch to prevent the water problem in the future (which I bought). I was also then offered a continued care contract which I also purchased as it was affordable and includes 2 visits a year plus emergency maintenance. Couldn't be happier with the work done today.

Excellant service - I contracted last year for semi-annual checkups of my systems. Recieved a call to remind me to schedule. They were on time and checked each system over and cleaned up. Glad I have them checking, I stay cool in summer and avoid surprises.

Technician (who happened to be the company owner) was at my door within an hour of the call (on a Saturday morning). He was friendly, courteous, and direct. He had our unit fixed within 15 minutes, and wasn't pushy with trying to sell additional services. I strongly recommend this company for service and will definitely use again if needed. This guy is top notch!

I was at our new home this morning dealing with other issues when I noticed the Air was not working. I logged onto Angie's list to see if I could find someone nearby with good ratings. Cosoms was the first one I saw rated A. I called and they knew my limited time frame and made it to my house within two hours of the call. He checked some things inside and then went out side to find two pieces that were totally broken and disconnected. He had those items and replaced them. He also showed me where my my filter was located and how to change it. He gave me a year warrenty on the new parts. He called before he came to let me know he was coming soon so I was prepared. Was totally professional, thoughtful and quick. He did not waste my time nor my money.

The service was outstanding overall.

I've been a full time IT Security Engineer for 11 years, I'm a 29 year old, and I currently live in a Condo. My air conditioning system in my condo stopped running. So I called Cosmos because they had such a perfect rating on Angie's List. They came out the same day I called, after work hours, about 5:40pm, which was great because I worked all day at the office. They were very responsive, and arrived on time. Two A/C engineers showed up, and quickly looked at my air handler within my condo. Within five minutes, they had assessed that my blower motor needs to be replaced, and told me it wasn't going to be cheap. Since it was late, they could not call the OEM to get an estimate, so they called me back in the morning with the estimate. They said the motor part would cost about $900, the motor module would cost $500, and the labor and side expenses would be $300 for a total of $1,700. Or they said I could get an entirely new air handler installed for $1,900. I said I was going to shop around some more. Later that day I found the same motor and module online from a wonderful appliance supply company in North Carolina for just $239, plus $47 for next day shipping, for a total of $286. When it arrived in the mail, I unplugged the old motor and module from the wire harness, and plugged in the new motor and module. I closed my air handler and switched my circuit breaker back on. My A/C system started wonderfully and I now have a nice and cool condo. Cosmos gave me an estimate that was 594% over the amount it actually cost me to fix my A/C system! I was in complete shock, especially since this company had such a perfect record on Angie's list. In their defense, I did speak to two more companies on the phone to try and get a better estimate, but those two companies also quoted me at just a couple hundred dollars less than the estimate Cosmos gave me. I don't know if the A/C repair business just charges crazy prices in general, or if this company gauged me, but I know I will not use Cosmos ever again for my A/C repair. I've never given a bad review before, but in this tough economy, the stark difference in price has to be shared with future customers. I gave a "B" for professionalism, because gauging a customer isn't professional, but their communication, timeliness, and customer responsiveness would be considered professional. (Disclosure: I have a full OEM warranty on the parts I ordered myself, and my Condo's A/C system from Carrier was 1 year outside it's 10 year warranty)

I called Cosmos based on the recomendations on Angies List when the A/C Unit in the condo I am currently Leasing out stopped functioning and they were beyond professional, HONEST, prompt and curteous. I called Cosmos because B&B, the company I had used for 7 years first tried to charge me $10,000 to needlessly replace the unit and then tried to gauge me on the price because I am a young female, offering to do what Cosmos ultimately did but at a cost of over $5,100. I am so happy that I called them. Cosmos was able to go to my condo the Day after I called, secure out of circulation parts for my older unit and then replace it before noon the following day. They charged me EXACTLY what I was quoted on the phone and brought an extra person to assist and ensure the job was done as quickly as possible. They fixed ONLY what was required to get my unit working and DID NOT try to force me to replalce the whole A/C system. Carl made sure to explain everything that was necessary to get hte unit up and running including the wholesale cost of each part and labor. The crew replaced my indoor Air Coil and my external accumulator, as well as replaced all coolant, retrieved leaked material etc. I am SO happy that I called Cosmo, and they have replaced B&B as my go to A/C company after I had worked with B&B for 7 years. Cosmos did not try to gauge me on the price, or do unneccesary repair unlike the other company. And as a young female homeowner, I trust them 110%.

Very hot weather and my capacitor blew on my Carrier Compressor. So, I called a few places on Angie's list. Many told me that the wait was until tomorrow. When I called Cosmo's they also told me tomorrow, but would try very hard to get to it that day. No promises, which was rather honest. Three hours later I get a call and it is Cosmo's. The son of the owner called to say he was done with a job and he could come in about 25 minutes. I raced home. Very professional young man and his helper. Very polite. Diagnosed the problem as the capacitor (which I had figured out with the old stick test). When I asked why just the warm air, he even explained that the capacitor starts two parts of the compressor, one which you can start with the stick, the other not. So, he also says that the capacitor went back because of dirty coil and lines. So, cleaning, repair and overall check out was $368.50. Yes, that is a high price and he even admitted as much. I know I could have done this repair for about $150 (capacitor and paying my hourly labor), but honestly if I blew it the whole compressor would have been useless, the family would need a hotel room and I would still need to fix the thing. I figure that the capacitor was probably only a $50-80 dollar item, which I got charged $170. Labor and diagnose were $95 each. He and his partner did work for a while and it was close to an hour. He was very good at checking the temperature coming from vents. Still, I am not sure this was close to a $400 repair. Overall though, polite, informative, very honest and clean. Cosmo's gets the bonus points for being so prompt on such a hot day and being there when advertised. Also, honesty is worth a few extra dollars in my book.

Because of our outstanding experience with Cosmo's in the past, they were the first call we made following flooding of our basement. We had turned all electricity off and wanted to be sure that it was safe. As expected, two technicians arrived the same day that I called. They were excellent and I am so sorry that I cannot recall their names! They spent over 3 hours at our home ensuring that the house was safe. Given the conditions they were required to work in, I wanted to bestow sainthood on them! I have recommended Cosmos to my friends, colleagues and neighbors. We will go nowhere else but Cosmos for all of our heating/airconditioning/electrical needs. They are just wonderful to work with and so trustworthy, I feel like they are family! Thank you so much!

On the very hot Memorial Day holiday our A/C unit stopped. I phoned Cosmos expecting to get voice mail. Instead I got the owner Gus who told me his son could come in a couple of hours. In two hours on the nose George arrived. He was courteous and professional and even with the many trips up and down stairs he always took his boots off at the door. The unit is in a tight crawl space attic. He diagnosed the problem quickly and had made his repair in under two hours. He showed my husband where the problem was and my DIY husband was impressed and confident in his repair work. We paid extra for the holiday call but the price was fair and the responsiveness was outstanding. Cosmos will be my "go-to" for heating and A/C service and repairs.

I called Cosmos at 12:00pm asking if they could repair my cooling system and by 3:00pm there was a representative at the house. George was extremely professional and throughly explained the problem with the system. He gave me a detailed quote for service and promptly fixed the problems. By 5:00pm the air conditioner was fixed and the house was cool again. Excellent work! I would recommend Cosmos again - especially to those in the Fairfax / Alexandria area. Thank you Cosmos.

We called Cosmos after consulting Angie's List and seeing their great reviews. Now we are the ones writing a great review. The company was very responsive and was able to come out the morning after we called. They provided a one-hour window vs. the often larger, more inflexible windows most companies give you. George arrived on-time and put on shoe covers to protect our carpet. He was very professional, courteous and knowledgeable. He unclogged the drain and even disassembled part of it to further clean the system which was above and beyond I felt. He offered a lot of helpful advice and acted as "partner" in our home maintenance vs. a high pressure/high price salesman. He cared! Cosmos offers superior quality at very reasonable prices. We would not hesitate to call on them again for all our AC/Heating needs.

Our HVAC system was not turning on. It was an old unit and it was the first time we turned it on this season when the weather started warming up. We called COSMOS and they came out and took a look at it and they gave us an estimate for replacing the unit. It was a much more affordable estimate than some of the other places I called, due to the fact that they said the duct work and interior air handler portion of the unit was still running fine, and didn't need replacing. They were the only company that didn't want to replace our entire system, including the air collector and duct work (which would have doubled or tripled the price according to other estimates, and cost us dry wall repair). They had it done the next day - very quick turn around time. We also paid for a service contract which is included in the amount above.

Cosmos did an excellent job from the start (estimate provided) to finish (completed installation). The father/son team provided a detailed and competitive estimate from which we made the decision to go with Cosmos. On the estimate they even offered to fix an issue (at no charge) that a different company had performed in the last two years, but was not done to my total satisfaction. The installation occured 3 days after the estimate. The installation team was professional, clean, and performed all work with great attention to detail. The Cosmos father/owner was onsite for the majority of the installation and made sure the initial work done by other members of the team was topnotch. There were no issues with the installation, all went exceptionally well. I cannot comment on the longterm performance of the brand selected, but I am confident that the installation/price was the best possible for the market. I will be having Cosmos back to continue longterm care of our HVAC system. I would highly recommend their services if you are in need of HVAC work.

The team was very courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. I don't know whether or not the price of their service was high because I had nothing to compare it to. It was just out of my budget at the time. I may use them to make the repair when the time comes.

Cosmos responded quickly and efficiently to a need for service to the furnace in our rental property. The electronic switch had gone out and he replaced it.

I own a rental home in Alexandria. My tenant called me and told me that the water heater was leaking a lot of water. I called Cosmos right away and was really surprised to get someone on site in less than two hours. The work was exceptional. They came in and installed a brand new water heater, took the old one and did a superb job at cleaning up. The crew was friendly and knowledgeable. You can tell they have many years of experience in this field. I will never call anyone else. The price was affordable. The service was excellent. They met my demands and needs and completed the service on the same day. They didn't even charge me as emergency service. I highly recommend this company to anyone that needs HV/AC Services. They even do some Handymen service. It's always hard to find someone that doesn't overcharge and can do work when and where you need it. Cosmos is the exception All I can say is that I am an extremely satisfied customer!! Highly recommend Cosmos and will most defenetly use them again in the future.

Our tenant called to complain the heat had gone out. After determining the pilot was working but kept cutting off, we called Gus at Cosmos. He showed up when he said hewould, quickly identified the problem, and AFTER checking with me for approval first, fixed the problem. He was honest (didn't try to BS us into a bunch of stuff we didn't need), fast and affordable. I'm not calling anyone else again.
