I highly recommend Stephen and his team at Capstone Remodeling! I interviewed 5 contractors, two of which were full design firms. Estimates ranged widely. Capstone was neither the highest, nor the lowest but they came highly recommended by several people in my area. (Found recommendations on Angie's List and NextDoor. Steve was the only one that sent in a detailed estimate that included a checklist of work to be performed and I was happy with his willingness to answer questions and flexible timing for starting the project (due to supply/delivery issues with materials). Once the project got started, I realized pretty quickly that I had made a great choice. Steve and his team were very professional. They showed up and left on time every day. They kept things clean and laid down tarps between the front door, garage, and the workspace. They even laid plastic over all of the furniture and drapery in the master bedroom to minimize the cleanup afterwards. The hall bath remodel was completed first and took just over two weeks from start to finish. No plumbing was moved, but the entire bathroom was gutted and rebuilt. The craftsmanship was fantastic. The master bath was started immediately after the hall bath and was finished in just three weeks! It was also completely gutted and rebuilt from scratch; the toilet was shifted over and the bathtub drain was moved too. Throughout the entire process Steve made a point to communicate progress and to ask me about my preference whenever there was a question of finishes (e.g. height of towel bar, or size of niche). The craftsmanship of the work is top-notch and I'm so thrilled to have gotten a reasonable, responsible contractor. I've already recommended him to a couple of other people in my neighborhood and plan to hire his company again for my next project.

It went amazingly well. We needed plumbing brought to the bedroom and walls enclosed. They showed up on time, ready to work when they said they would. They were professional, neat and timely. They also assisted in saving us money on supplies by steering us to a cheaper location in price without sacrificing quality. They created three shower heads, with a bench and a huge walk in shower. A beautiful soaking tub with a huge double vanity. It is beautiful. Even after being paid, there was a tub filler rough in that was bad from the factory, but they came back and happily reinstalled the new one, which involved opening up our ceiling in the kitchen to access it. You would never know they took down a cabinet and created a huge hole in the ceiling to allow them room to work. We originally met the owner through another company when we had our kitchen installed. He was impressive then and impressive now. This is our 3rd job with Stephen and we will continue to use him for our future home remodeling jobs. I felt very secure when they were there and never had a concern when I had to leave for work. My dogs loved them. We did buy them a lot of contractor pencils because our pup ate a few. You are in great hands with Capstone Remodeling!

Remodel went very well. Stephen and his team are professional, talented, and very reliable. They did a great job bringing my vision for our bathroom to life. Would highly recommend. Our vanity has been backordered for months. Really looking forward to having Stephen back to finish our project when the vanity comes in later this year. Also did a great job installing a new electric car charger.

It went great. We had used Capstone Remodeling for our kitchen and were very pleased. We made the right decision bringing them back for the master bath and powder room remodeling. We are particularly pleased with the tile work in the shower and on the floors. When we first started to plan our kitchen renovation, we struggled to get responses from many local (Arlington, VA) contracting/kitchen&bath businesses. We were referred to Capstone Remodeling via a colleague who recently completed her bathroom remodel. Stephen returned our call immediately, and scheduled walk-through within a few days. The process was impressive. We had little-to-no knowledge of how kitchen renovations typically work, and didn’t have a clear picture in our heads for the final design. Stephen spent a little time taking notes, pictures, and making drawings of the general space. Following the visit, Stephen was able to provide us with a new design concept for the kitchen, which optimized the small space available in our condo kitchen, as well as a detailed estimate including labor and materials. Once we agreed, Stephen also provided us with his contacts for Cabinetry and appliances, who worked closely with us and Capstone Remodeling to ensure we purchased the right appliances for the new space, as well as coordinate deliveries and installation for cabinets and appliances. Stephen’s team provided electrical (had to re-wire some items!), plumbing, cabinet installation, flooring, painting and backsplash installation. Additionally, they worked with us to identify areas which may require additional adjustments (cabinets not quite in line, gaps between wall/cabinet, etc), installed a new ceiling fan, and removed all the old appliances for us! Due to the pandemic causing appliance stock issues, the process took longer than any of us expected, but the team was polite, friendly, honest, and seemed to genuinely care about the outcome. While I think they were hesitant about some of our color choices, we all agreed the kitchen turned out better than expected. We will absolutely use Capstone for our upcoming bathroom renovation!

I highly, highly recommend Stephen and his company, Capstone Remodeling for any home renovation need -- big or small, complicated or straight-forward. Stephen sincerely cares about you and your project, and is committed to getting it done right, and done on time. Stephen is a great communicator, via email, phone, text, and video chat--which is so key to a successful renovation project. He is considerate, patient, accessible, receptive, personable, detail-oriented, and caring. When we were still living out-of-state, we hired him from afar to do some projects before we moved into our house. He worked aggressively to meet our "move-in" deadline. He often would video call me to get my input on various stages of projects, and also just to update me on how things were progressing. He even video called me once just to give me a personal tour of our garden I had not yet seen, and all the flowers that were in bloom, which meant so much to me. I wholeheartedly trust Stephen; he quickly became like family. Since we've moved into our house, I've consulted him and hired him back for additional projects. Once I called him just to seek his counsel on needed modifications to our slide-in gas range cut-out, to accommodate a new range, and after our video chat where we talked it through, he had one of his guys out the next day to further scope it out. Then, Stephen stopped by not too long thereafter to take care of us--again, meeting a crucial deadline we were facing for the range installation. I look forward to hiring him back, again and again over the coming years.

Stephen and his team worked quickly, precisely and well during a four day period. They installed new flooring over old flooring and also painted and installed new shoe molding. They painted throughout the house. There were only a few very minor follow up items that we requested after the work was done, and his painter took care of those quickly and without question. I’ve hired other contractors in the past and now only ever work with Stephen. His price is fair, and we trust him, his team and his opinions.

Our remodel of guest bathroom went amazing, Stephen and his crew completely transformed our very dated 1980's era bathroom.

Capstone Remodeling completed a full remodel of our 1970’s town home this fall. Stephen worked with us to create a detailed plan and ultimately completed the project on time and within our budget. Our project included the full remodel of our kitchen and four bathrooms in addition to laying new flooring in the basement, drywall repair, lighting installation throughout the home, ceiling fan installation, and window installation. The expert knowledge of Capstone was apparent from our first meeting and continued throughout the project. All of my questions were answered fully and in a timely manner. As to be expected with an older home there were a few “surprises” but Stephen was able to troubleshoot and handle all issues with ease. What could have been an immensely stressful process was made pleasant with all of the support offered. The crew was professional and kept a clean and safe working environment. No detail was spared and skillful craftsmanship led to beautiful results. I cannot speak highly enough of Capstone's service and integrity and would not hesitate to hire them again for future projects.
