Britts Roofing

Extraordinary, exceptional, and outstanding describe today’s (15 April 2021) cleaning and painting of our metal roof by Britt’s Roofing Company. Found through Angie’s List review, I requested a quote from Britt’s. I received a call within an hour from Britt, setting up an evaluation soonest -- the next day. Britt personally made a thorough inspection, demonstrating genuine competence, the highest technical skills, and superb customer service. We received a proposal later that day that we accepted as the price was most fair and very competitive. In two days, Britt, and co-worker Nate, arrived in the morning, on time, as arranged, to power wash our long tin roof (to clean mold), caulk any areas needed and apply a premium quality, acrylic, elastomeric, decorative tin roof paint. They even took extra effort to scrub the roof so it was properly prepared. Working as a team, Nate did a superb job of brush painting meticulously the ribs, while Britt did superior work hand painting the main panels. The finished product was magnificent. Clean-up was detailed. The fantastic work done by Britt Roofing was absolutely awesome. Much appreciation. Highest positive recommendation.

We had a persistent leak in our roof that was causing damage to a bedroom ceiling. Contacted several companies and they proposed extensive and costly repairs. Britt inspected the roof and caulked areas where there were potential leaks. We have had several heavy rains since then and no more signs of water damage. Britt did the job at a fraction of the cost.

Britt's Roofing is fantastic. After a major windstorm, we found several flaked slate pieces in our yard. Britt Stamps, owner, came out promptly after I called to assess the roof. He took and emailed photos to me, and clearly explained the wear and tear damage, why it happened, and what he could do to repair/maintain the roof. He also sent a proposal for the work. Within a week, several slates were repaired by Nathan and Britt and the flashing on the roof ridge and around vent pipe and chimney were resealed. Britt also inspected the roof, copper, chimney exterior, gutters and downspouts. One gutter needed a minor repair, which he did at no charge. This is a professional company with a hands-on owner who has deep knowledge about roofs, communicates clearly, is responsive, and prices the work fairly. Highly recommend.

From start to finish, Britt was responsive, professional, and timely. We had a small leak and he was able to come out quickly, gave us an estimate in line with others we had received, and unlike the other 4-5 companies we called, actually came and did the work as promised. They finished the job within two days of giving us the estimate and within 5 days of us calling them on a holiday weekend. We highly recommend them!

Britt documented some cracking and aging boots and chimney issues that a previous inspection had missed, but emphasized that the overall roof was in good shape. After doing the maintenance and updates, the leak went away.

In the course of routine chimney service performed by another contractor, we discovered a section of roof tile that had been completely rubbed away by a tree branch. Called on Thursday before the Veteran's Day holiday on Friday. Britt came out at 8 am Friday morning, performed a free assessment and estimate, and then performed the required work in about an hour. In addition to the work on the patch, he identified and corrected minor issues with chimney flashing and sealing around vent fans. Prompt, courteous, professional, honest, and very reasonable rates.

Outstanding! I have a four story town house, so no way am I going up on the roof. Britt and his assistant took pictures while checking out my roof, so I could see exactly what was wrong and needed to be fixed. The corrected all of the problems, including the leak the next day, and took another round of pictures to show me what they had done. They were polite, professional, on-time, and did a great job for a reasonable price. I am a thoroughly satisfied customer!

Britt's Roofing was very responsive and able to come out the next day. They took pictures of the roof, chimney and gutters and showed us what needed to be repaired and gave us an estimate to let us decide if we wanted to proceed. They completed the work in a timely manner and we have not had any issues since.

I love these guys. Saw them working on a house across the street as I was walking to Metro. I walked up to their ladder and described my needs. They agreed to come by the next morning for a review of the situation. They (a young man and woman team) were exactly on time and examined everything thoroughly. I climbed up the ladder as well and for the first time in my 7 months of ownership, I saw what the roof looked like. Britt explained what he thought I needed (see above list - I did it all) and I asked for a proposal. Within 2 days I had one. I read the proposal at about 10 pm one night as I was turning in and I accepted by return e-mail. They were at my house first thing next morning. That day they installed the vents and did the chimney cap and removed the old roofing from over the porch. A couple days later, the copper roofing was installed. A few days after that, the patching and resurfacing was done. As to price, I am pretty sure this was a great one. When I bought the house, the roof inspector I used as recommended by the realtor said a patch and resurface would be $3900. I choked at that and didn't follow up until Britt came along. I am so glad I did. Very confident in the roof condition now.

Frankly, this was arranged by my son prior to my moving to Alexandria. I had the property inspected and used the roofer the inspector suggested. The work was done in a timely manner and there were no issues or problems. I actually had no personal contact with the roofer, my son handled it. But, all went according to request and after really heavy rains, we are all dry. So it's good.

Britt's Roofing (may have been 'Britt' himself for all I know) arrived earlier than the appointment date but called ahead of time to ensure this was acceptable. He was very efficient and repaired the fallen gutter and fascia board quickly, and moved immediately to fix the fallen slate tiles. The work was much quicker than I had anticipated! After over two years since the work was done, the roof remains in good repair (a tile or two has detached, but it's unknown whether these were the same times) and the gutter and fascia board remains in good shape. I received Britt's Roofing's name from a neighbor and I was very satisfied with the service. I do feel the price was a little for the work but it was good quality work, probably well worth the price all said and done.

I called Britt to do some repairs that had been requested by our home buyer. He was polite and prompt in giving the estimate, was very clear about what he could and could not do, and did the work really quickly (which I appreciated because we had a tight timeframe). His prices were also really reasonable. I would use him again in a heartbeat.
