We hired them to replace our kitchen roof and ceiling, and to re-do some of the electrical work just for stylish reasons. We wanted pendants over the island, under cabinet lights and re-distribute the ones on the ceiling. They said it should take one week and took over 45 days to have the last detail fixed, 30 of which we spent without access to our kitchen, spending money and having the discomfort to eat out for a month. For the roof and the ceiling, ok, no problems. But the electrical was a nightmare. We bought all the lights before any work had started, as they required, but the electrician who came decided to start his work without opening the box and without seeing what he was supposed to install. Simply started working based on the location of the lights. We bought the fancier under counter LED lights available, because they were almost invisible. When I came home, there were 5 normal sized junction boxes hanging under the cabinets, with one wire and one hole on the wall and on the cabinet for each one of the 8 LED we were installing. They are so tiny that all you needed was one smaller junction box (provided) to connect the switch and the first light, and from there a small wire between each of the LED, running invisibly at the edge under the cabinets. I was really upset to see my cabinets full of holes and highly visible junction boxes. The worse was the reaction of the contractor, trying to convince me that because I was taller than my cabinets, therefore I couldn’t see the ugly junction boxes hanging. What if I lean down? What if I am sitting on my kitchen table? His argument was “it is to code”. But the correct way was not only the prettier and the proper, as also was also to code. I don’t have experience with construction, but I know what my rights are. So I didn’t accept any form of final work that wasn’t exactly what I had hired them for. After a lot (really, a lot!) of discussion and stress, I got them to send a new electrician and finish the work. The experience was valid to learn that you are paying and you are a consumer, therefore and you also have to be protected by the contract. When I signed a contract with them, I thought I was protected, but now I know they had listed the work way too generally to protect us enough. The delivery date wasn’t in there, for example. If it was, I would have asked for compensation for the extra time we spent without a kitchen. Also, we never got a receipt stating what had been done and giving us any kind of warranty. When we asked for one, they said that the original contract could be used as receipt, as they also had signed it. But after so many headaches, I kind of wanted something stating what had happened in case my kitchen exploded for a bad electrical job. Didn’t get one. My personal opinion is that they didn’t want to have anything written, any kind of proof, assuming that they had made mistakes. They wouldn’t even reply the e-mails that I was sending them hoping to get a written answer that I could use as prove in case of problems in the future. What If we have a problem and they decide to deny they are reliable for the job done by the first electrician? That incorrect job wasn’t on the contract. I am detail oriented. They were not. And they tried to convince us that that is ok. (This is just a summary of our bad experience!)
Description of Work: I had a huge headache to have my kitchen refurbished with these guys, and even though the final result was good, not in a million years I would do it again.

Response from Brevic Development LLC
Very disapointed to read these comments. I will briefly more accurately caracterize the ordeal. It started with a couple who had racoons and their babies and squirrels and their babies living in ceiling (to be replaced) under roof to be replaced. we were asked to remove animals without harming and set free. No. not our job and would endanger all. the job was quite a bit more extensive than reported...they left out the new Hardi-Plank siding on entire addition..exterior lighting..re trim entire addition with pvc trim as well as the work on the interior. All in 1 week?...not a chance...the couples and unwillingness to allow us to bring the structure to code compliance. sheesh!..owner wished to do there own work in the property..ie take down and reinstall cabinates for drywall work. owner did on there own schedule and incredibly shabbily done. Husband was in the hospital for a few days..fortunately he was ok, but ....our fault?...owner again would not allow us to purchase the proper lights for under the counter. Addition was wired for HARDWIRED lights. They purchased the Harry Homeowner linked together variety. Mistakes were made on our part...nothing earth shattering, and not allowed to rectify. ie we were not allowed to work during the day when no one was home. We had to come back in the evening...who works in the evening and only on special days? Very unfortunate. As in any project, some mistakes were made.unfortunately, these folks got a great deal....Quality work and product....apparently the issue is the lights they purchased incorrectly and susequently our electrcian installed incorrectly...and the fact that we wouldnt work well within the borderline unsafe and unhealthy conditions in their home. Not wise to live and work within the smell of Cat, racoon, and squirrel fecis....oh well.
