Better Termite & Pest Control

I contacted Better Termite (BT) after reading the positive reviews to schedule an estimate for an annual pest control contract. The estimate was scheduled quickly and Marcel was professional, knowledgable, and provided wonderful customer service. We purchased an annual contract with bi-monthly service. BT contacts me approximately 1 week prior to the actual service to notify me of the day the service will be performed and to check if there are any particular issues. I have also contacted BT in between the bi-monthly service calls to address an occasional insect issue. Marcel and BT are professional, knowledgable, and provide excellent customer response and service. I highly recommend BT and have referred them to several of my neighbors as well!

Everyone we worked with was very professional and nice. There was only one time when I called to ask a question, I spoke to a young lady who was not so professional. She was a bit "over me". I couldn't hear or understand her at one point, and she got aggitated with me.

So far so good! I use them for an annual inspection every year and I haven’t had any problems. Each year they check both inside and outside and they haven’t had to spray or do any further treatments. I have and would continue to recommend them.

We originally purchased a deal last year and had such great service that we have renewed our contract. When we called the Angies list deal had already expired but they still honored the price. They charged us the same price this year. They spray every 4 months but we are able to call them if we have any problems in between the services. The few time we have called them they have been wonderful and back within a few days. They are very professional. Highly recommend.

The whole process was excellent. They first came out and explained what options I had. They then came out and sprayed the inside for all the bugs. They were extremely professional and punctual. I highly recommend.

It went well overall. The technician got lost on the way over (the office had written the wrong zip code for my house), but called me to get the right location and still made the appointment window. When he got there, he did a careful examination of the house (basement, garage, and a few "problem" areas). I told him I was interested in a quarterly pest control plan, which seemed right based on my needs. I was happy with the service he provided. He did an exterior treatment around the house's foundation, and a "pet and kid friendly" interior treatment in a few areas (not the whole house). He also was quick to note that the quarterly plan entitled me to "call backs" if problems developed between quarterly treatments, which is a nice benefit of the quarterly plan. Overall, a positive experience. I will be using them again in the future.

They showed up quickly. The technician was great. He was thorough, informative, and answered all of my questions. We decided not to go forward with the treatment.

The service went very well. The technicians arrived on time and performed the intitial extermination service professionally. Most importantly, the service eliminated the problem. We have been very pleased with the results.

We were extremely impressed with Joann's analysis of the problem and her excellent knowledge of how to take care of it. She used a stronger chemical outdoors only (at our request) the first time and took her time, doing a very thorough job. Problem solved but she said that a follow-up visit might be necessary since the problem was severe. Just a few ants returned to the house and Joann returned almost four months later and used a second chemical outdoors that solved the problem again. We were very happy with the entire experience -- appointment was scheduled promptly, office staff very courteous, talked with the owner who was very helpful, Joann's knowledge and dedication remarkable. We will definitely use this company if the need arises in the future!

I've been using Better Termite for termite prevention for the past 12 years. When they started offering a more complete package that includes pest control, I signed up. They used to schedule their visits quarterly for termite prevention, with the complete package they visit every other month. I believe that you can also call them if there is a special need you want taken care off right away. But since I have not seen pests around the house lately that required immediate attention, I have not called them outside of their scheduled visits. I used to use a separate pest control company prior to them offering the complete bundle. But having Better Termite do it all, I ended up paying less overall. Plus I am already aware of the great service I've been getting from them for so long.

It went very well. The company was professional and had a very experienced and patient technician arrive at our home to do the estimate and the initial services. The technician walked all around the home and inspected every room. He gave us advice on what holes to patch up and how we could do it ourselves. He did not insist on charging us for doing those services. We had asked him many questions, and he was very knowledgeable and patient with his answers. The technician provided an on-the-spot estimate and discussed the various options. He offered to do the services at that time, but we declined because we needed the time to consider the options. A week or so later, we purchased a one-time service and the same technician arrived and efficiently put in the bait. We have had no problems with rodents since that date.

Excellent service, asked about the problems we are having and any specific areas that need special attention. Always call ahead of time with day they will be treating. We live in an ant and bug free home!

Better Termite was very prompt, explained everything clearly. They were so quiet while working that you hardly knew they were there. Plus, it only took about an hour and a half at the very most.

I called Better Termite and Pest Control on a Friday morning of 7/13 after discovering that I had fleas in my house brought in by human shoes and feet, as I do not own a pet. I got an appointment for the next day at 12-2pm window. The service man called at 10a and said he had a cancellation and was able to come early which worked great for me because I was freaking out having never experienced a flea in my LIFE! The service person came and did a check around to see if they were jumping on him and didn't find any. I told him that I set off 4 bombs the previous night but saw two that morning. The service man was HONEST enough to tell me that I didn't need extermination services becasue I had probably killed them with my bombing and it didn't make sense to pay for extermination. He also was HONEST enough to admit that the chemicals they use could interfere with the chemicals I used and may not be effective. He was HELPFUL in suggesting that I go with their bimonthly service plan as a better value to cover extermination services every other month which would include fleas and bees (which I have nesting underground outside). He suggested that I vaccum to get up any leftover flea larvae and perhaps set off additional bombs if I wanted to be extra certain they were killed. He also gave me some tips to handle the bees nesting outside in the ground. I thanked him profusely for not taking my $250 and for his honesty. I certainly cannot afford to part with that much cash unnecessarily. However, the annual service plan makes so much sense given that I live in a wooded setting and have coped with spiders, bees for many year. I told several people about my experience with the company and my one friend even told her mother-in-law who asked for the company name and number which I provided. This goes to show the old adage of people telling people when good things happen in patronage of establishments. I will likely go with the $400 service plan and would highly recommend this company for their honest policy, punctuality and professionalism.

They came once for the ant problem, and it wouldn't go away, so they kept coming out until it did. They do a great job, I really like them and their services. The price includes four visits a year, including any problems we have.

We saw some damage on our front porch and in a few other areas of the house and figured we better do something about it before we had to replace the porch. We live up the street from Better Termite and Pest Control and saw that they have been in business for a long time. I even remember calling them for advice once about bugs in a piece of wood furniture we got second hand and they happily helped us. The estimator, Hubie, was very knowlegeable and pointed out the various problems we had (termites, carpenter ants, ants, stink bugs, and mosquitos). We got treatments for all of these (the termites is one job, insect treatment can be handled either as a one time or with a contract, and mosquito spraying is a separate deal -- you can mix and match whatever you want). Anyway, Hubie was pretty clear about the tradeoffs between one time service and a more sustained contract. The pricing seemed reasonable (but in all honesty I didn't comparison shop) and he let us know that the main person who would handle the project, Juan, has 20+ years with the firm. There seems to be long tenure for the employees at Better Termite and that's always a good sign. A few days later Juan came out, performed the termite abatement and other bug control duties. Another colleague helped Juan and yet another guy came to spray for mosquitos. They were in and out in the amount of time Hubie told us they would and everything was cleaned up and handled well. They also went deep into our backyard to treat ant colonies in various places. They lift landscapng stones and treat under them. They also treated the interior of the house and closed up entry points for mice. The other good thing about their contract is it handles other vermin like mice and rats. We've periodically had mice and we've seen a big differerence in results between the stuff you guy at Home Depot and the professional exterminators' tools. This contract covers that over the next year as well. I wasn't a member of Angie's list at the time but they still gave us an Angie's lists discount. I then realized it might be worthwhile to join Angie's list.

They came out every other month to inspect the termite traps. Here they have these bait things to see whether any termites are showing up. They do an annual inspection inside the house. They came in and go all around in the basement and all around the outside. They also have termite traps out there and they check those to see if any of them have termites. Apparently, last year they found some near the front so they put in some barrier termite killer stuff. I have had them out for call for ants. I haven’t them for any other pests in the house; we haven’t actually had any pests.

They are good. They are a little on the high side.

This is like preventive care and I spend about $150 per quarter. They spray outside twice a year and refill and check the bait traps and have never found anything. They check inside but there is no need to spray inside because I have had no problems. From what I have seen they are kind of expensive but I just knock on wood, nothing is happening so I keep them. I will use them again in the future.

I would never use this company again. The services that they performed were fine, but the way that they administrate the services is horrible. I had a service contract with them. I recently realized that they had not come out in awhile, so I called the company. The woman I spoke with said that my credit card on file had been declined over 6 months ago and that they had called me and sent me notices. I never received a phone call and when I got the statement I paid it. The card on file was declined because we got new cards with a new expiration date. The woman with whom I spoke had a very angry tone to her voice and said they discontinued the service after I didn't pay. I paid the only bill I received and again, never received a phone call, so I was never informed my services were no longer being delivered. The woman also said that they usually don't start service up again when a customer doesn't pay. I spoke with the woman's supervisor (Sue) who had better customer relations skills, but I was still dissatisfied with the way I was treated. I have only written two negative reviews in my life, so the fact that I was treated that way by a service provider means they really did a lousy job of customer relations.

Took a speciman of an insect to office for identification and suggested treatment. George worked with us personally and took time to identify the insect, explain it and treatment, and make a copy of the information from his manual. In the end, we were unable to use the company's service because the property was in DC, which is not in their area of service. Very pleasant, patient and professional. Would use in a heartbeat.

They are very good and prompt. I requested when they were doing the traps outside that they call me when they were coming out and they did.

I've been using them for years. They were the ones that the builder used and I'd been totally satisfied so I've been with them ever since. I have an annual contract with them and it's around $250 or $300. They are very good. I don't have any comparison for the price. The quality of service is superb. They are very responsive. They are close to punctual. They had an appointment at 9 this morning and they showed up at 9.25. They are very professional. They put those little things from they time they come in.

It didn't - we didn't get the service we ordered.
