Description of Work: They repaired the casement for a ceiling fan that had been damaged and rehung the fan. They also checked out a switch plate and replaced/repaired it. They were on time, professional, brought all their own tools including ladders, cleaned up after themselves and were friendly and affable. We were very pleased with their work and would recommend them in a heartbeat. I don't mind paying premium rates for premium work. My daughter had also used them and was very pleased but we did not know that when we contacted them. We found them on Angie's list.

Description of Work: First they helped me make sure my gas was turned off since my hot water heater had died that morning and I was hearing a hissing noise. And then they got down to the electrical work! Quickly identified that one light wasn't turning on due to a small problem and didn't need to replace any parts, just adjust the light. The other light was quickly repaired as well. They were on time, professional, and worked quickly. I would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: The job was simple, just installing a wall outlet, but the tight work space made the project more difficult. Nevertheless, it was done within time estimate and with good humor. Cost matched estimate. I would definately recommend Becker.

Description of Work: I called Becker Electric based on a recommendation of a friend. The three plug outlet behind my refrigerator stopped working. That plug housed my fridge, stove and above stove light. Greg (who they sent) met my tenant at the unit but spoke with me on the telephone before leaving. When I asked him if the problem (aka ensuring the fridge and stove were safely plugged into an outlet directly versus with extension cords) he said "yes". I asked him if he spotted any other issues, and he simply said that the circuit breaker box is obstructed and was not an issue for this job but could be if an issue requiring its removal arose in the future. When I got to the condo the following weekend, the stove was plugged into an extension cord still. The refrigerator was properly plugged into the outlet behind it, which, in fairness, had been repaired but became only a two-plug, regular outlet. When I called customer service, they were certainly responsive, but Greg's response to their inquiry was not. He said that he could not do the stove outlet because the circuit breaker box was obstructed. I had to bring in Autumn Electric 9/6 to complete the job. They installed a new outlet behind the stove and fixed a different electrical issue without ever removing the circuit breaker box cover. Becker's response of trying to blame the customer is never a good idea. For Greg to tell me all was set and the stove was plugged in, when the stove was still attached to an extension cord, was unprofessional. I cannot speak about the other staff of Becker, but Greg was not good.

Description of Work: I hired Becker Electric Company to upgrade some old two prong electric outlets and one switched outlet. I received a phone call within an hour of filling out the request for service form on their website. We were able to schedule the work exactly when I had hoped to have it done. They arrived onetime, seemed very knowledgable, and worked efficiently. I am very pleased and will use them again if I need other electrical work done in the future.

Description of Work: Outstanding. During my initial call-in I talked with Pete about my problem - water pouring down through my fuse box in the basement during Hurricane Sandy. As it turned out, he correctly diagnosed the problem just by listening to my description. (Never lost power, no sparks so there wasn't really an emergency.)Steve arrived the next working day right on time, quickly diagnosed the problem - a frayed service line down which rain water flowed. Good news: power company is responsible. Steve is a real professional. I recommend Becker Electric with no reservations.

Description of Work: Techs took down old ceiling fan and replaced with a new dining room chandelier. The new light fixture was in a box and needed to be put together. Technician indicated that some adjusting of the wires was necessary since they were not the way they were supposed to be. He corrected the problem and hung the fixture. I also had an old dimmer switch changed for a newer model (unplanned). The Apprentice Electrician put all contents of the package together and offered to take it with them (great) and also swept the surrounding floor area to ensure no residual pieces left anywhere. Great job, very professional. Minimal disruption; even arrived earlier than expected.

Description of Work: Our oven was taking over an hour to heat up so Becker Electric (Pete Becker) sent an electrician who assessed the problem (the stove outlet was not wired for a stove or any other appliance); and solved the issue (rewired the entire outlet).
