Scott and Brian arrived well ahead of schedule. One of them installed the smoke detector while the other checked all the outlets. All the work was done in about an hour. They provided the smoke detector and switch plate.

They were absolutely fabulous. They were fast and efficient. They were completely professional. In fact, they did all of the work while we were at work and they let themselves out. It wasn't a mess. I really liked them. We had to let them in. When I talked to the scheduler, the scheduler thought it would take all day and possible two days, but they were hoping they could get it done in one day. My husband let them in. I went to work early and I was planning on coming home midday and being there to pay them when they left. They called me at noon and told me they were done with everything. When I asked them how I could pay them, they told me that they would send us a bill and that it would be fine. They let themselves out.

Two Becker technicians arrived promptly on the appointed day, did an excellent job, cleaned up thoroughly after completing the work, and throughout were personable and highly professional. Based upon the price and quality of work, I could not recommend Becker more highly.

Punctual arrival for estimate. Estimate was received within the time promised. Punctual arrival of two electricians to do the job. They did the job within the time estimated and did quality work. They consulted me when decisions were necessary. They did the patchwork (which most electricians emphatically stated they would not do) with me only needing to do one additional round of patching, light sanding, and painting. All around a great experience. I mentioned to a few neighbors that we'd employed Becker for this job and they came back that they too had had a good experience with them. Becker is our new "go-to" electrical firm.

Becker was very professional from the initial estimate through to the performance of the work. I obtained three fixed price quotes for the work, and Becker was the lowest. While I suppose I could have found someone to do the work for a few hundred dollars less, I didn't want to sacrifice quality or not have the work be guaranteed. Becker arrived right on time, breezed through the job, and cleaned up after themselves.

The electrician showed up well within the time window, performed the service cleanly and efficiently. I would have no hesitation about using them again.

We love them. They are not the lowest price but they are super professional. They make me feel comfortable when they are here in my house - they don?t leave a mess. They lay out everything that they are going to do; it is very clear what they will do and what they won?t. I am pleased with them overall and would use them again in a heartbeat.

Becker was able to diagnose the problem quickly. They ran to the store to get the parts that were needed and did not charge me for the time to do that. The work seemed to fix the issue effectively. They seem like a very professional company.

Called and was able to get a quote within a week of calling. Quote came in comparable to other quotes we had gotten and I had a good feeling about them in the initial estimate. We contracted to have the work done and they were able to schedule us the monday of new years. Sy and Joshua were the ones who did the work and they were excellent. Very professional, punched very few holes into the ceiling and the holes they did punch they patched up. Everything was wonderful and they did a great job cleaning up and making sure that everything was perfect and looked right. Definitely recommend and I'm glad I used Angie's List and the review to find them.

Workmen arrived on time and were very professional. They cleaned up after themselves and completed their work very efficiently. We would definitely use Becker Electric again.

I left a message on the Company's phone system to have someone come out to my house and provide estimates for a number of electrical projects. No one has responded over a day later.

I've used Becker before for installing recessed lights, under cabinet lights, ceiling fans, bathroom fans, new 120V GFI & 240V outlets, all sorts of things, probably over $10K between our two houses. We recently purchased an old house in Arlington in need of a lot of electrical work and hired them again to do the work detailed here. They are very professional and do really good work, I've never had an issue. I think their prices are probably high but since I never got competing bids, I don't know. I can highly recommend this company.

They are prompt and professional. Wiring my shed was the most challenging of the tasks and I wanted to be sure it was done correctly. Having Becker perform the work means I know the job was done right.

The two-man crew arrived on time, began work immediately. Replaced the dining room ceiling fixture in less than 20 minutes. Proceeded to install the first ceiling fan. Used a tarp to catch plaster as the fan box was larger than the existing hole. Installed joist support and fan box, assembled the fan, wired it and completed the installation. Repeated this process with the second ceiling fan in bedroom 2. Adjusted the fan remotes so that they would turn on separately, finished early and left promptly, removing the tarp and any fallout from the ceiling. The work areas were left neat and orderly.

The experience was great. The technician and his helper were very professioal and knowledgeable. They arrived on time and went right to work. They diagnosed the problem right away which turned out to be a short in a ceiling fan. They repaired the short which took just over an hour. They had to take apart most of the fan and put it back together. He went into our attic to make sure all wiring was in good shape. Before they left he went to my breaker box to make sure everything was ok with that and explained to me what kind of box it was and that it was a good one. I gave a B on price because they charge by the hour which I am not crazy about but I think there pricing is pretty much in line with everyone elses. They do not drag either. They were working the whole time. After one experience I am very happy and would definitely use them again as well as reccomend them to others.

Becker was polite and courteous from the initial phone call to the service call and while tackling my wiring problem. They were attentive to my explanation of the problem and efficient in solving it. I was so impressed and grateful that I am writing my comments which I have never done before for anyone but I want to say thank you and show my appreciation.

Because FPE panels often can be a fire hazard, we wanted that to be replaced as soon as possible after closing on the house - the estimator (Mike?) came the morning after closing, actually showing up 15 minutes early, and mailed us a quote within a couple days. Prices seemed to be in line or slightly less than other estimates I received. When I called to schedule the appointment, I was expecting a wait of 1-2 weeks, but was told they could start the work in 2 or 3 days - quite the pleasant surprise! On the day the work was supposed to start, two trucks showed up (10-15 minutes early) and the guys got right to work. They had told me the work would probably take a day and a half, but when I got home that evening everything was all done and generally looked great. The only minor issue was some minor extra drywall damage in the half bath, but that was to be expected (and nothing that a few minutes and some spackle won't fix). We will definitely use them again in the future, a very smooth and pain-free process.

Very well, the company was prompt, showed up when promised, worked swiftly and professionally, and was very polite. They were more than willing to accommodate what turned into significant delays part way through the project: they could not finish wiring until other tasks were completed, which in turn were delayed due to a problem with the foundation.

I called Becker to have them come to troubleshoot some random power issues in our house. They were not able to come quickly enough, but the woman who answered the phone was very friendly, responsive and knowledgeable. She gave me the number for another vendor who was likely to be able to meet our need. I will call Becker again when I need electrical service of a non-emergent nature. Thanks!

They were fantastic, came in I explained what I wanted and I did not have to refresh their memories or anything it just got done. They were very pleasant to work with. I will definitely use them again.

The work was fine. The problem was with the price. Becker requires that you have an estimator come to your house first. They then mail a copy of the "proposal." Any customer who uses Becker should understand that this is actually a contract. The estimate was for $561, I signed it, and the technician came to perform the work. What I had a problem with was the fact that the technician was here for only two hours. Becker's hourly labor rate is $140/hour, meaning that I paid $281 for the above parts--parts that would cost no more than $30 retail at Home Depot. I feel that I was overcharged for either parts or labor, but I paid the invoice because I did not want to put the electrician in an awkward position. I called Becker within 60 seconds of the electrician leaving my home to address my concern to the management. I spoke with the proprietor, Peter Becker, who said he would look into it and get back to me. He did not. I called again a few weeks later and spoke with Peter Becker again, who related that he was undergoing a family emergency (the death of his father after an acute illness, for which I am very sorry). He said he would look into it and get back to me. He did not. I finally wrote a letter to Becker Electric after several months (the delay was the result of my own medical emergency, for which I could not work for several months), requesting either an adjustment or a full accounting of the labor and parts for which I paid. Mr. Becker responded in writing that I had signed a contract and was entitled to no price adjustment, and he declined to give me an itemized estimate of the parts and labor for which I paid. I then called Becker Electric and spoke to Mr. Becker, and he reiterated his stance. He offered no breakdown of parts and labor and said I had signed the contract and paid and was entitled to nothing, not even an explanation of what I paid for. So, basically, I either paid $140/hour for labor and $281 for $30 worth of parts, or I paid $260/hour for labor and $60 for $30 worth of parts. Either way, I feel that paid too much. I think Becker Electric's work is good (though one of the ceiling fans they installed last summer is starting to vibrate out of its socket), which is why I gave them an A, but I think their process of estimating the work in writing can yield higher charges than what is fair, hence the F in this case. The failure, twice, to get back to me may be forgiven by Mr. Becker's personal circumstances, but the mocking tone he used on the phone to characterize my request for clarification, in which I have been nothing but nice, cannot. Hence the B for (un)professionalism. Mr. Becker pointed out that if the job had taken three times as long as it did, I would have been charged what they quoted and they would have lost money. Any consumer considering Becker Electric should get estimates from multiple vendors and ask up front for an itemized breakdown of parts versus labor. If they refuse, move on, or you could be paying a 500% markup on switch plates like I did.

They estimate seemed fair and they explained everything which was reassuring.

They were wonderful. They arrived on time with a two man crew. They were quick and efficient and all of our items were installed wonderfully. It took them about 2.5-3 hours. They hung 2 fans, 2 light fixtures, 1 HUGE chandeliers and put on many dimmers. I will use them again for sure.

Great, they set an appointment, came on time, installed the exterior lighting I had bought for the house, the old lights were over 15 years old and needed replacing. Did a great job. the gentleman who came to do he work was polite and fast, Cleaned up after job, I'll use them again in the future.
