He came right away, was really nice, and I haven't had any problems with it since. I would definitely hire them again.

They have refuse to return money for services not rendered. They won’t return my calls. My home warranty and I decided they wouldn’t be the ones completing my services. They lied about a repair. And now I can’t get my money back (deposits) $760

My AC unit died over the weekend, my warranty company AHS assigned this company to come out. I was scheduled a time frame of 9am-2pm, which is a little ridiculous. I was nervous about this company coming out as they have terrible reviews. Well the reviews are correct. They arrived an hour outside of the time frame they provided, and come to find out they won't even service my type of unit. Now I'm trying to get AHS to assign a new company, but they can't until ATR gives them the reason why they cannot service it. I tried calling ATR several times to help get this information moving faster, the lady that finally answered was extremely rude and hung up on me after I asked her to fax the invoice over to AHS. I don't recommend this company at all.

Description of Work: A rating was most likely written by them. The Fs as well as yelp clearly indicate the **** co. It appears they have no shame, they just live off AHS warranty business. Let's start by saying that in addition to reviews they need to be hit at the wallet. As such, soon, i will seek to be made whole through legal action, since not my nature to let scum get away with things. I will not only seek the $75 co pay but for the 6 hours I wasted waiting, for tech who not only did not apologize but said zero and could not wait to get out of property. Call was to comply with sales contract eg service HVAC since it was leaking at the drain line. Clown came, walked up 3 flights , then asked where AC was. I told him up in loft/attic. We went up there, he took photos of unit, and saw the broken drain line, made out invoice, and wrote, "approval from AHS " home warranty Co. I asked about when work was expected to be completed and he stated " I have to speak with my manager". Really? Two days later, nothing, no response from ATR,. Warranty co. stated after the first day, that upon contacting them, they were doing a "parts search". I advised that I was able to do that in less than one minute tel call to supplier. I figured out their business model. Respond immediately and make appointment, Grab the easy $75 co pay for 3-10 minutes at the property and since any performed work may take 3-4 hours and they can only bill about $500, it behooves them to do 30 appointments at $75 each, eg ahead of game.. Even if these crap people call, I will not let them within 1000 feet of my property and would not trust them to even touch anything, as evidenced by posts herein and yelp. AHS will be dropped by me very soon, and HMS ill be my company. I used to be realtor, the word is getting out quick on above "companies".

We were sent a ATR technician through our home warranty company and paid the $75 service fee. The technician came in our house, looked at the breaker box and said "oh the wiring is old. You need to upgrade the wiring." So we hired an electrician. He upgraded the wiring. However, the same issue persisted. The home warranty company called our ATR again and we paid another $75 service fee. This time, they technician told us, "oh its the breaker itself, it needs to be upgraded to handle the new wiring." [Please note, not once did the HVAC technician ever look at the unit itself.] We then hired another electrician to come out and upgrade the entire breaker box. However, the problem still persisted. We called the home warranty company, paid another $75 service fee and a 3rd ATR technician came out. This time, he went to the AC unit and said "Oh clearly these two parts need to be replaced. They look like they've needed to be replaced for years ago." We then proceeded to have the home warranty company to cover the parts and labor but we are responsible for the disposal fee. That's fine. But what I've asked ATR for is a credit for 2 of the 3 service fees to apply to this charge because I believe this should have been discovered as the problem when they first came out. The symptoms had remained identical throughout this process. The recommended upgrades did not make one alteration to the symptoms of the unit. I do not feel their technicians did their due diligence the first two trips and therefore I should be credited toward this expense. I have attempted to speak with a manager about this now three times over two weeks. When I call and ask to speak to the manager, suddenly no one in the office knows where the manager went or when the manager will return. Two previous phone calls to them I was told they would call me back-- no return call received. The third call I was told by a technician that the manager doesn't come in regularly so he couldn't let me know when I could call back to get a hold of her. So I asked who was in charge. He said no one was really in charge, that isn't how their business works. I'm at a loss for how to even speak to someone in charge over this.
Description of Work: In July 2016, our air conditioner would stop working. The fan would circulate air, however it would not cool. We also noticed that one out of ever ten times the system would turn on the breaker would trip.

The technician was actually on time and professional. However regarding the company "THEY SUCK"!!!!! I do not recommend this company at all. They told my appliance warranty company (yes I have a warranty) that I have water damage from a secondary source to my electrical panel of my gas HVAC system. Condensation from an attached humidifier of the HVAC system on the electrical board is not separate water damage (from a 2nd source), it's all one unit/system. Then they said it will cost $460.00 for them to replace and fix (like I would give them the business = NEVER)!!!!!

My AC stopped cooling my rental property. Called American Home Shield which is my warranty company. They sent ATR General Services to work on the unit. They came out 8 times so far and replaced anything and everything that they wanted to and charged me $700 so far outside of the $400+ that I already paid for the yearly warranty. But the issue has not been resolved. Unit still doesn't cool the house off and freon level is next to 0 and unit freezes up. I called American Home Shield many many times and asked them to change the contractor company as a new guy comes every day who has no clue what the previous guy did. ATR by the way has the worse review. America Home Shield refused to send a better contractor who could fix the issue. ATR claimed that they replaced the evaporator coil and TXV Valve. But after my upset tenant given me notice to break the lease due to me not being able to take care of the AC issue in this 1-1/2 months, I contacted Michael and Son to take a look. After 1 visit they determined that the unit cannot be fixed and need replacement. They also told me that ATR fraudulently charged me money to replace TXV Valve when my unit doesn't even have a TXV Valve, rather it has a piston. I contacted American Home Shield last Friday, 9/25/2015 @8:36 am again and told them everything and how frustrated I was and I am loosing my tenant because of them, they told me that I will get a call within 24/48 hours. Today Tuesday, 9/29/15 @9:40 I am writing this review and I am yet to get a call. I called them today and told them that I am having Michael and Son replace the AC if they can't take care of it and was told that they will not reimburse me if I take a 3rd party for servicing. Basically, they are taking their sweet time, not fixing it and not allowing me to have it fix either. At this point, I think I will be contacting my Attorney to sue American Home Shield for the following: 1. $400 + My warranty cost for not resolving the service request 2. $700 that I alreay paid to ATR (America Home Shield contractor) 3. $389 that I alreay paid to Michael and Son due to America Home Shield's negligence 4. $6000 +- for AC replacemtnt 5. $2190 / month for rental loss unit I can rent it out again 6. Cost to re-rent the property and advertisement 7. Attorney cost 8. $ for my lost time from work for every time that I had to leave my job to come to the work site 9. $ for all the inconvenience and issues that were caused by them including all the unpleasantness that I had to go through with my family (particularly my wife) and aggregations that the whose situation caused me. 10. $ Cost of signing up at Angie's List to write a the worst review I ever wrote for a warranty company or service provider. Next is filing the complaint with Better Business Bureau and Virginia State Commission as American Home Shield does business in Virginia. I will also write this on Facebook and ask everybody to Share so that people know these crooks and American Home Shield can see what an angry customer can do for their business. Not to mention, today the customer service representative Brandon was not very friendly and basically told me (not in so many words but) to screw myself as I am stuck between them not serving me and me not being able to have the issue resolved by 3rd party. So, I think its time that I take the matter in my hand and talk to my Attorney and send them notice and bills. I already wrote review in Angie's list which is in queue and will show up in 24 hours. I am also filing a complaint with Better Business Bureau and Virginia State Commission. Facebook status will reflect this too.

We have a home warranty with AHS (American Home Shield), and when our Honeywell thermostat failed, it had to be replaced. Mariam in ATR's office made sure that we received a thermostat that was of equal quality to the one that had been original equipment in our house. We required only that the non-programmable thermostat be relatively quiet and that it display both the Current temperature and the Set temperature. (Many digital thermostats display only the Current temperature, and one must press a button to change the display to show the Set temperature. Touching the button causes the heat or A/C to come on prematurely, because the thermostat senses a difference between the Current and Set temperatures sooner than it would have otherwise, which wastes energy and results in excessive wear and tear on the HVAC system.) Mariam listened carefully to our technical and scheduling requirements, and made sure that ATR fulfilled them. ATR's technician showed up on time and installed a Honeywell FocusPRO 5000 (TH5110D1022), which serves our needs perfectly. The $75.00 cost is the price of our deductible with AHS. I am not sure what the price would be for this service without the home warranty.
Description of Work: ATR General Services replaced our Honeywell thermostat with a new Honeywell thermostat through our AHS home warranty. Mariam in their office made sure that ATR installed a thermostat that is quiet and displays both the Current temperature and the Set temperature. ATR did an excellent job.
