Area Safe & Lock Service

The lock had been badly repaired by a fraudulent company the month before. We had been badly overcharged also. Within a few weeks of the first repair, the lock was inoperable. The serviceman from Area Safe & Lock repaired the lock as well as the damage caused by the previous person, completely explained the problem and the solution, gave me the parts that he had replaced, and also adjusted the closure of the door. His charge was a fraction of what we had paid the previous "locksmith".

After figuring out that I could not drill my own larger hole, I called a couple of places but they said they couldn't get to me for two days. i did not want to go that long without a lock on my door and Area Safe and Lock Service got out to me in less than 4 hours. Very satisfied.

The repair happened on time, did not take long, work was performed and the repairman cleaned up the area - from using his drill. Very pleased and would definitely call again - if another lock problem occurs. Have already recommended to friends/neighbors.

The technician was very nice and punctual. I had gotten an estimate over the phone for about $300. It ultimately cost me $400. There may have been some difference with what had been installed and what the estimate showed - but i don't believe it was an additional $100 worth. The technician offered to have me speak with the office - but I declined.

Quick and easy but a little too pricey for 4 locks.

I called on a Wednesday night and they came out first thing on thursday morning. The entire change only took 1 hour and they were extremely friendly. I highly recommed them!

This is the second time I've used Area, and they performed better than expected both times. They are not cheap, but you do get what you pay for, and home security is not a place to skimp. They use excellent quality locks, but don't try to sell you things you don't need. When possible, they rekeyed old existing locks to match those requiring replacement. They even thought of making all keys for the apartment in the house silver, while making all the keys for the main house brass - what a helpful detail! I highly recommend them.

Perfect service from start to finish. Office staff gave quick estimate, and identied the lock type & model # based on fuzzy blackberry photos. Jim D, the locksmith, arrived on-time and completed the work quickly. He was friendly, and explained everything about each step of the job clearly to a person w/no fix-it background. ( I joked w/him that my "toolbox" has only the 3 tools my dad gave me when I got out of school & moved out on my own--hammer, and flat & phillips screwdrivers.) I highly recommend this company.

We had to have three door locks replaced due to an employee being fired. I called and a little over an hour later someone was at our office. He explained our choices, gave us the price breakdown. He changed the locks quickly and happily. In fact, he was a very jolly fella! Would definitely use again in the future. The price is a bit high, but from what I understand, its the industry.

Overall a very professional job from start to finish. The initial call to the company was professional and the individual who performed the work was prompt, courteous and professional. The cost was on par with what I expected and the quality of the work. I would recommend Area Safe and Lock.

In a world of seemingly declining customer service, the professionalism and service of these guys (and gals) really stands out. Recently bought a new house and wanted to change the locks and install a few new ones. While we were at it I thought we should have all the locks use matching keys. Called Area Safe, they were very helpful on the phone working with me to establish the kind of systems already installed, recommended the best and least cost course of action to get all doors working on the same key. Service was performed on time, the tech called from the property with a report of the conditions he found and then proceeded to carry out my requests. The install was clean, solid and professional with no mess after he left. Wish everyone was this easy to work with.

We needed to get our locks rekeyed after a questionable incident in our home. We had not had this done when we moved into the home 5 years ago. When I called with our situation, the woman on the phone was great. She was very helpful and understood the urgency of the situation. And all of this right before Christmas. I called and they came out the next day and it was all taken care of very efficiently and quickly. My only complaint is that I showed him a door on the lower level that we have never been able to unlock because the previous owners did not leave a key. He took a picture of the lock and was going to let me know if they could get it open for us. I never heard back from them. That was the only fly in the ointment!

I called the company for an estimate for re-keying all my household locks on-site. I was given a detailed description for the work and what it would cost. I make an appointment for a few days out. The rep. arrived on time and was able to quickly and competently re-key all my locks to an existing key. I was happy with the work and thought the price was fair for doing the service on-site.

Didn't try to sell me more than what was needed. Figured out the problem and fixed it. What more do you want?

The experience went perfect. The guy who came out was very friendly, knew what he was doing, and seemed to enjoy the work. He was great.

I locked myself out of my condo on New Year's Day and the service that I called on emergency could not open the lock and destroyed the lock in the process of opening the door. The person did not have the proper equipement to then fix the lock. I called after the holiday Area Safe and Lock to fix the damage (I have a dead bolt so fixing the other lock could wait a few days). They did an excellent job, serviceman arrived on time and had all of the proper equipment to replace the lock, even though I have a slightly usual set up.

Everything was fine. They showed up on time and got the job done. We have not had any complaints. It costed about $200. It seemed like they were friends. They pricing was pretty straightforward. They guy was on time and friendly. We will use this company in the future.

They were very helpful, but my husband thought it was too much money. He was able to contract with another company for $800. I don't think they will do quite as many things, but it would be satisfactory. I thought they were very good.

They were very good. If I had gone to a shop they would have charged more. The guy who does the work around in the condominium referred me to them. They did a great job with everything. I am going to use them again. They really could have gouged me on that. They were very professional. It's been a year and the bolt isn't broken and if it breaks I will call them again because it was a tricky situation. They know the area and they have been here forever. The person who answers the phone in the building is very familiar. The guy that came out had to leave to get the parts and he came back. I was really impressed.

It was very good. I think that anybody that wants keys or a lock that cannot be reproduced, it would be ideal to work with them.

They were very helpful on the phone and gave me all of the options for replacing my locks. These included replacing the keys, replacing the full knob/lock combinations and upgrading to modern equipment for increased security. The person who answered the phones walked me through each price point without pressuring me just for the "upsale". When they came to the house they were right on time! The technician worked quickly and efficiently and gave me honest feedback on what I needed to do to increase my home security (Informative tips about sliding glass doors, etc.).

It went well. They were on time when they said they were going to be here. The price was the price we discussed over the telephone. He is a very nice man.

Everything went fine. I have no complaints.
