Description of Work: I requested that locks be changed in my new home. Service was prompt and straightforward. Friendly service.. I consulted about a digital lock and I was provided with free professional opinion. I was debating whether to change the digital lock or not. I was not persuaded one way or another to make a quick buck. On the contrary, Options were explained to me including the possibility of switching it myself.

Description of Work: Only had to file down the plate on the lock. 5 min of work. Charged me the full $175. I understand that was the price quoted. But since there was practically nothing to do, the cost seemed excessive. Plus the lock stuck again several times after that.

John answered all of my questions, provided recommendations, pros and cons of various products, and comparisons between brands. I selected a product and scheduled a delivery time. They were prompt, professional, courteous. I highly recommend them from my experience.

Description of Work: I have used this company a number of times over the last 20+ years. I have been impressed with their responsiveness, helpfullness, courtesy, and skill with each job I have had them do. The most recent time was when the lock in my front door broke on a winter day, and I was unable to get in the house when I returned late in the evening. I called the emergency number around 10 pm, and within about a half hour, a technician came and got the door open. He installed a new lock and keyed it to match the locks for my other doors. It was expensive, but then it was an emergency call after hours. Other jobs I have had done include re-keying the locks when I moved into the house in 2003 and re-keying when I moved into my previous house in 1988. A few years ago, they got a stuck key out of my car door and fixed the tumblers in that lock. Unfortunately, the key just got stuck again, but they no longer work on car locks. I was sad to learn that I would have to go elsewhere.

Description of Work: I called Area Safe and Lock Service to replace and rekey the locks in my new home. They were GREAT!!! I called to get info and I was greeted warmly and everyone I spoke to knew what was going on--they even took the time to explain the differences of costs and products and gave me an estimate. Then I called and scheduled an appointment. They were on-time, in fact a few minutes early and waited for me to arrive. Then the locksmith explained what he was doing and why and let me watch as he made all the keys and replaced the locks. I HIGHLY recommend this service. The cost was less than they estimated. I had two locks rekeyed and two locks replaced.
