It went great from the quick response of this Virginia located company. They responded quickly to come up to my place in Maryland to give me an estimate. Mike was great, willing to do just what I wanted, never pushing more than I needed or wanted and offering his quality ideas when asked. He was more than willing to fix my existing chain link and gave it a quick inspection for the estimate. He gave me two estimates to reflect the two scenarios I was considering....that is repair of existing fence and only fence rest of yard or replace entire fencing on property. He was so flexible and never made me feel that anything was not possible. They work thru the winter...the ground is not too hard...so they could begin within 2 weeks if I wanted. He gave me clear instructions on what to do to accept the estimate and make the appointment. I live in an historic district and handled clearing the permit thru my town. Once that was done, it had been about three months, but Accokeek still honored their estimate and was ready to begin the installation and repair as soon as I was. Their price was in the range I was hoping for and combined with their willingness to do what other companies considered "piecemeal" job was a big plus for Accokeek. Fencing is still way more expensive than I wish it was, though. I had an unfortunate weather delay for my appoint. I think part of the problem was that the weather was different that day between Virginia and Maryland....they could have done the job that day in Maryland...oh well. They rescheduled within a week. They showed up when scheduled and performed all work as promised. I think they used a recycled top pole to repair part of my chain link....I like that. The cedar picket with gates they installed looks fantastic. Quality workmanship throughout. They left me with about 5 extra pickets as spare parts. They used a metal sleeve in the ground for the gate stops. The cedar smell is so nice. Their foreman really impressed my dad and my neighbor was impressed when they offered to haul off branches she was cutting up that day. Scored neighborly points for me - thanks Accokeek! My only criticism is that they don't accept credit cards, but I was able to pay them with an electronic check via my bank. Their staff was always courteous, helpful and professional on the phone.

It didn't go anywhere. They never got back to me.

Accokeek responded within one business day to my inquiry for an estimate. We scheduled a meeting for a week later. Mike was punctual to the appointment and extremely helpful with coming up with a design that addressed all of our needs. The estimate was fair. After sending in the deposit, Accokeek called 3 weeks later to schedule the installation appointment. Because the arbor was custom ordered, Mike had told me it would take this long. The installers arrived on time, were extremely professional, and while needing my input on a few things, were very respectful of my time. They installed the fence within six hours. The work and materials are very high quality. The design worked out beautifully, and we are very pleased. We would definitely use Accokeek again and recommend them to our friends.

Adirondack Tree Experts did a great job. They had the right equipment with them to do the job. Their workers were prompt and pleasant to work with. I will gladly recommend them for the fine job they did. They cleaned up everything after the job. Was real pleased with them.

Found this local company through word of mouth referral - my dog trainer who'd seen their work at a few of her customers' properties, each with satisfied customers. Also, they gave me the most competitive estimate. They were far more professional and responsive than other fencing companies I contacted for estimates. Estimator was good to deal with, as was the office. Afterwards they stuck to the estimate (no surprises found in situation or the work by either of us). Work was done on schedule and completed quickly. They showed up with a good crew and a foreman who was bilingual. I was observing on and off while the work was being done. Everyone worked steadily and were pleasant to deal with. There was a certain plant to not trample in the wooded area and the foreman marked it off with tape so no one trampled it inadvertently. They did not disturb any cable or underground wiring. They cleaned up completely. They used thicker gate posts than the old fence had for the gates, and cedar crosspieces as gate door reinforcement; the rest was treated pine. (I couldn't afford fancier materials; this should last long enough - same materials as the decades-old fence I was replacing.) They hand-built the whole fence and its gates from lumber, instead of using pre-fabricated sections, which is important, particularly for sloped land - means that everything fits to the land and plot's contours very well. VERY satisfied so am writing this report.

Sales representative arrived on time and was very professional and knowledgeable. Listened to why I wanted the gates (keep our toddler in) and what was important, suggested the appropriate materials, explained finishes and then gave me the price. Wrote up the quote there and then. It was a few weeks later that I was in a position to go ahead with the project and Accokeek were able to give me an installation date within 2 weeks. Team arrived in two trucks and they were subcontractors (quote states no sub-contractors). They checked with me about the job and helped with getting the positions of the two fences right - which way to open the gates, where and so on. I pointed out our French drain and emphasized that the agreement was for them to cart away any excess soil. I checked on progress after 4 hours and found that some of the cedar pickets had excessively rough edges and splintering. Had to discuss this with the sales representative as the sub-contractor was adamant that this was the normal finish - in that case I said I wanted all the pickets to be of the same standard. Problem solved by running spare wood lengths up and down the rough edges to smooth them out. The nails were protruding all over the fence and I had to ask and check several times that these were hammered flush. Also the excess earth had been spread around areas of my yard and on the French drain - this meant I had to tackle the sales representative and head sub-contractor again. Job took about 6 hours overall. Fence looks good and I think I can manage any rough edges that develop. They could have been more responsive to my requests and saved me and themselves time and some degree of frustration by using a little more care with selection of timber (and smoothing rough edges off before installing), hammering nails flush without being asked and not being obstinate over the excess soil. You may wonder why I would use this company again - they do have a good price and the sales representative was particularly helpful. I am glad I was there to oversee the installation and for any future work I would pay even closer attention. I would expect a very competitive price if they persist with using sub-contractors and of course will get a quote from that particular sub-contractor (JFD Fence).

The representative was not particularly professional when I called to arrange an estimate. After I gave a brief description of the work I was looking for they advised that they do not do fence work on townhouses that have underground utilities and quickly hung up.

The best estimator we spoke to and the crew delivered what was promised. The estimator was very thorough and explained how the crew worked, the materials they would use, and pointed out some questions to ask the other fence companies. The crew arrived on time and were very professional.

Very prompt in responding to our request and getting us an estimate. We would not hesitate to ask them to bid on another job.

A rep. came out to estimate the job in mid April and I scheduled the job for a month later. The estimate is exactly what I paid. There was no attempt to "up-sell" me or to get me to accept the proposal on the spot (Long Fence did both). The job had to be rescheduled twice due to inclement weather, but that's not the company's fault. On the first clear day after the original installation date, they called first thing in the morning to ask if they could come out that day and do the job. A crew of 3 showed up right on time and started work immediately. Ours was a small job and they were done in little over 2 hours. We are very pleased with the fence; it looks great! They warranty a cedar fence for 1 year. My only complaint about the company is that they can be tough to contact. While someone always answers the phone, I had to speak with my sales rep regarding the specifics of my job, scheduling, etc., and he wasn't good about returning phone calls.

The materials worked just as they said. Next time I will get them to quote the work too. :)

The salesman, Mike, was terrific. Great ideas and recommendations on approaches to take with regard to a fence, easy to reach, quick to answer questions. No fooling around on price: He wrote up an estimate with detailed description of what we'd agreed on in terms of material, height, fence line, etc., and that's what I paid. The installers, Juan Carlos and Danilo, did a SUPERB job. Easy to work with, responsive, highly skilled, and friendly. I really enjoyed working with Accokeek and highly recommend them. I had lower bids on the job, but went with Accokeek based on their reputation and my interface with Mike the salesman -- and I do not regret that decision, nor the slightly higher price I paid.

In the end, we got tired of waiting for a representative of Accokeek Fence Company to call us back and hired another company.

They were fantastic. The estimator was polite and gave us a great price. Lower price for a better product than their competitors. Put it in in one whole day even through freezing rain.

I attempted to get a quote on a new fence in our backyard. I sent an email via their websites online form with as much information as I had (fence type based on the websites pictures, address, amount of fencing needed, etc.). I didn't hear from anyone. So I called a few days later and spoke with someone on the phone who told me that they would give me a call to come by if someone was in the area. I called again a few days later to clarify what that meant and was told the same; if someone happened to be in my area, they would call and come by for a quote. It's been 5 weeks and I haven't heard anything. I went ahead and bought a book from Home Depot and put up my own fence. To me, it's a bad sign if the company can't give a potential customer a better option than ''if we're in your area we'll let you know.''

Ed is the owner of the company and personally came to my house to give an estimate. He was the only salesman, (of three estimates), who correctly measured the fence and identified that the two other companies were charging for an unnecessary 50' of fencing. He also offered that he had older cedar wood at his yard and would install that at the same price as pressure treated. His installers were on-time, polite and very efficient. The job was complete in four hours. Excellent!

Competitive quote. Showed up on schedule and did the work neatly. Professional and courteous service. Very responsive.

The folks from Accokeek were great, their estimate (which was the final price) was substantially less than other bidders. They used better material as a standard (6x6 post instead of 4x4). They performed work on time and did a good job of cleaning up once completed.
