Absolute Tree Inc

I was schedule almost 4 weeks out. Never heard from them for a booking until 10 days after I gave my deposit and then scheduled me 17 days later. The scheduler won't even respond to my request for a move to earlier date despite office telling me he would call "today". I liked the arborist so I thought I would giving them a try. There are so many good companies in Northern VA. I called another company and was scheduled this week.

This contractor failed to show up; twice. The office staff and the owner were difficult to reach and did not return my phone calls. This company needs to get it's act together.

The crew came out when I was out of town and performed the work. They did a good job of removing the dead wood on the Oaks and pruning the Tulip Tree, but failed to remove the over-hanging Oak Tree branches as contracted for. When I saw that this was not done I called Absolute Tree Inc and they agreed to complete the work. It took several weeks to get the crew back out but eventually they came and did a good job of removing the offending Oak Tree limbs.

Absolute Tree Inc quickly responded to my request for a quote. Within one week, they provided a quote, cut down the tree, and removed the stump. They were reasonably priced, professional, timely and neat. I would highly recommend this company. They even applied an Angie’s List discount without my having to ask!

I came home at 7 PM after the strong afternoon storms and to my surprise, my tree was half down (uprooted) on my house, laying across the front entrance and roof. I had no way to know whether it would end up crushing the roof because locust is very heavy hardwood. However, after calling 4 phone numbers for tree companies who advertised "24 hour emergency service," only one company had someone live to answer the phone: Absolute Tree. This was a HUGE plus for me and gave me peace of mind before night came, since the owner (Ashley) did call me back, had me text him some photos and then in a short time we were set up for the next morning (7/18) at 7:15 AM for a crane truck and a team with tree removal trucks (2 trucks came, with 2 chippers!) It was an awesome and amazing job they did with removal: lifting the tree up off the house, cutting it off at the base, then laying it down and cutting up some rounds from the trunk I wanted for firewood, plus chipping branches and cleanup, and they were all done by about 8:30 AM. Then about a half hour later, the stump chipper showed up! All of that was completed in about an hour, including grinding up some surface roots in the yard. This company is very professional and courteous; they were fast but very careful, clean up was incredible, and they cut the rounds a nice length for firewood. I cannot recommend them enough for this service, and will look to them in future for any other tree work I need!

Perfect! We've used Absolute Tree for several jobs. Ashley Davis is so professional, and his crews are wonderful. They always are punctual and the job is done perfectly, with no damage to any other trees/shrubs. This company is simply the best. They are so good that our HOA has also used their services.

Michael Todd came out and evaluated the situation and provided the proposal. I provided 50% down for the deposit and then they automatically set a date for the job. I emailed to see if they can come sooner then the scheduled date. Received no response. The date of the original job passed and no further communication was provided. I wrote 3 additional emails to get follow-ups on when the job might be rescheduled and did not hear anything in early May to mid-May. On June 1, I received an invoice to pay the remaining amount for the job. I looked out my back yard and the broken branches were still there. I called the office, and the woman was apologetic and said they would look into this immediately and Ashley (president and owner) will call me and get this resolved. It's almost another week, and haven't heard from them. I called today to ask for my refund. I explained the situation and Berta who was the original scheduler said she didn't get back to me because she never heard back from Ashley (this is now a month ago). I asked why I was invoiced, and she stated after the scheduled date she invoices the customer unless told otherwise. I asked why she didn't check that the job actually got done and my job never got rescheduled. Very disappointed. Now I'm trying to get my deposit back and she can't tell me when that will be. I used Angie's List to find this provider :(

We've hired Absolute Tree on two separate occasions to remove stumps and a few large trees and have always had a great experience. They are responsive, reliable, and have very fair prices. Ashley is very knowledgeable and has always gotten us estimates super quickly after we request them. I appreciate that he uses email, since my husband and I both work and that's the best way to reach us (and we don't need to be home for him to come out for an estimate). Jobs have always been done very thoroughly with great cleanup after. Would highly recommend.

Absolute Tree did a great job. Our kids were home and were very excited to watch. At one point the crew discovered a squirrel's nest with young kits inside. They were chirping pitifully for their mother. The crew stopped all work, gently moved the nest to a safe place where the mother would later come, and carefully tucked the babies back inside. Our kids were so relieved to see their thoughtfulness for the wildlife. The trees were removed professionally and all debris as well. I would hire again.

Stump removal was great. Clean and only took a few hours. The admin side is less to be desired. The admin in the office and limited in her response and Ashley the President/Owner is vocally hostile in conversation. The service of removal is great, it is just getting there and the aftermath. If you don't have patience, I wouldn't recommend using them.

Wonderful. I highly recommend Absolute Tree for any tree needs. They responded right away to talk with me about the status of the falling tree, Fri evening. They arrived at 8am the next morning, Sat, to evaluate the tree and determine options for safely removing it. Once determined it was steady enough for one more day they arrived at 8am on Monday. The tree was cut away in pieces and the crew cleaned branches and debris from the yard as quickly as it came out of the 70 ft tree. They could only chip the smaller beaches with the chipper so huge logs were laid by the curb. An hour after the cutters finished the logs were collected by another crew with a bobcat and truck. Excellent workmanship and excellent service. My tree guys for life. ~ Catherine

It went extraordinary well. The owner did a great job on giving us estimate. He gave us good advice and did not upsell us.

The ordering process was cumbersome, but went OK after I got through all "special offers." Contractor performed tree removal in May but never returned to stump grind. Finally got them to finish the job in Sep. Just received the invoice dated 15 Jan 2018...with the bill due 28 June 2017 with a term of 5 days (no note, no explanation, invoice says they completed the job 22 June 2017??)! Just disorganized and sloppy,

If I could give something lower than a F, I would. After receiving an estimate and paying a 50% deposit, it took a couple of weeks and several emails from me to get a date scheduled to have 3 trees removed from my rental property. At last, I got a date of 11/17 to have the work done. On the day of the service, I received a phone call from the crew but I was unable to respond immediately. I never received any other communication but I did receive an invoice for the amount due so I assumed the work had been completed. Luckily, I checked with my tenant before I paid the invoice and found that the trees had not been removed....weird, since I received an invoice! I called on the morning of 11/21 to find out what was going on and was promised a follow-up call that afternoon....which I did not get. On 11/22, I sent a follow-up email to try to find out what was going on and the response was that the crew could not find the trees so that was why the work was not completed. Odd, since they were able to find the trees to give me the original estimate but, ok. I was told the work would be rescheduled as soon as possible. Well, it is two weeks later and I have heard nothing and have received no response to my emails requesting a new date for the service. Since I have received no response, i have filed a dispute with my credit card company for the 50% deposit that was paid. I would definitely not recommend that anybody do business with this company after the experience I have had. This is a follow-up to the review that I left on 12/7/17. Mr. Davis did call me and when he called he indicated that he was only calling me because Angie's List had informed him that I left a bad review. He didn't call in response to my emails or because he was holding a deposit for work that wasn't done but only because Angie's List contacted him. I never received any emails or phone calls from this company asking me to mark the trees that were to be removed. I know Mr. Davis believes his software that sends to the emails to be mistake-proof but that doesn't appear to be the case in my situation. In any event, as the owner of a small business myself, if I had a customer who had paid a deposit and was emailing asking when the work was going to be rescheduled, I would pick the phone up and try to figure out what was going on instead of just ignoring the customer. I wasn't going to follow-up on his response to my review but then last week I received a collections notice from him.....for work that wasn't done. I replied to the collections notice but, of course, I have not had any response from anyone at Absolute Tree Service. Maybe Angie's List can help me out again and tell Mr. Davis to stop sending me a collections notice for work that was not done.

Have used Absolute a number of times over the years. Very happy with their work from start to finish.

Another tree service company left me in a bind when they realized they did not have the right equipment to grind several stumps located on a hill that they had previously cleared. I reached out to Absolute Tree and received a reply almost immediately; when other companies needed weeks to get to our job, Absolute Tree had our yard surveyed by Miss Utility and all stumps ground within a few days. I was most impressed with how responsive and helpful the owner was via email and text. The employee who came out to grind the stumps was very professional. Very good experience with Absolute Tree and I would hire again.

We unexpectedly had to go out of town when the job was scheduled and did not return until two weeks later. When we did we could not have been more pleased with the result. The stump cut low to the ground as promised and the area was left very tidy with no damage to the adjacent lawn or area below the tree.

I contacted 3 service providers via Angie's List for quotes, only AT responded to my request. They came out a couple of days later to examine the tree. Within a day, they sent me the quote in a written contract with licensing and insurance information, very professional. I was subsequently scheduled for the following month and received a reminder call a day prior to the scheduled date. They removed the trees and cleaned up all of the debris. The remaining stump was small. Their service was outstanding!

They were perfect every step of the way. The arborist came to my house first and I met him since I wanted to. He was very professional and right on time. The actual work was also extremely well done. My yard was immaculate afterwards. I got a discount as they advertised for Angie's List.

They arrived promptly and worked quickly. There was no damage to the house. The deck wasn’t even scratched or nicked, even though they had warned me there might be unavoidable damage to the deck railing. The tree was on a slope, but the stump is pretty level on top, so I could probably put a planter or something on it if I wanted to. And, for the extra part: without my asking, they removed a fallen rotting tree from our next door neighbor’s yard at no additional cost. They removed all the wood, debris, and brush. Their quote says, "If you receive a lower bid from a fully insured, ISA certified company please let us know. We will do our best to try and beat it!"
