Mr. Kim replaced our original ac unit almost five years ago and this week the fan decided to stop turning in the outside unit. I called and he came out within a few hours to check the machine. It turns out there is a battery in the outside unit that had died. He replaced it and as we were still under our warranty, did not charge for the service. His service and professionalism is exceptional. I will recommend him to anyone that needs a quality HVAC service repair.

COST: Please note that I have entered $1.00 as the cost. The reason is to be fair to Mr. Kim who has been what I consider to be overly generous to my wife and I over the past several years. Suffice it to say that his quoted cost is substantially lower than other estimates I received when speaking with other companies. RESPONSIVENESS: Mr. Kim has serviced our decrepit HVAC system for the past several years. Our home was built in 1959 and I can only guess when the current system was installed. Put it this way: I'm afraid to touch the outdoor unit believing it might crumble to dust. During the past several years we have experienced 3 failures of heat or cooling and Mr. Kim has in every case shown up the same day as called. Moreover, two of his visits (28 May 2016 the last) were on weekends. Mr. Kim is very responsive. PROFESSIONALISM: Mr. Kim is courteous and professional. He is clearly an expert in the field and knows his business well. In every case of system failure he has identified the problem within minutes and executed the repair quickly. He was very apologetic on Saturday 28 May 2016 when he explained he could not do anything until the following Tuesday morning. Mr. Kim's professionalism stands far above what I would expect of any repairman or businessman. THE CURRENT PROBLEM: This past Saturday morning around 10 AM I noticed the AC was blowing warm air. I knew it was going to be a hot day and did a little exploration. It didnt take long to discover there was a problem with the outdoor unit. We called Mr. Kim and he promised to arrive around noon the same day. A short time later I was sitting on the deck and my wife told me Mr. Kim wanted to talk with me. Little did I know he had arrived early and determined the problem before his promised time of arrival. Mr. Kim explained that the fan motor on the outdoor unit had failed and needed to be replaced. Moreover, the R-25 needed to be refilled. He explained it would cost around $500 to repair and he would not be able to do anything until Tuesday due to the weekend and Memorial Day. Mr. Kim is familiar with our system and so we discussed the trade of how long until something else broke. I asked how much it would cost to replace the entire unit and was quite surprised at the quote. It took me only about 5 minutes to determine it would be far better to replace the entire unit. He explained he would start Tuesday morning and most likely be complete by late afternoon. A couple of minutes later we had a delivery order with quote and details. I have no doubt Mr. Kim will deliver and look forward to enjoying a new HVAC system. Thank you Mr. Kim!

Everything went beautifully and I could not be happier! It was 7 pm by the time I realized there was a problem with my air conditioning and was pleasantly surprised that he was able to come out the very next morning to evaluate my situation. He was prompt and professionally dressed. After taking a look and testing my equipment, he recognized that my air conditioning unit was completely out of Freon and was not able to take a refill because of a different problem. Recognizing that my unit was very old and took the old (very expensive) Freon, he recommended replacing my unit with a more efficient unit. He informed me that the current a/c unit I had was designed for a much smaller house and he showed me the calculations that indicated what size unit would be appropriate for my single family home. He also advised that my 40 year old gas furnace (while working) would not allow me to get the best performance out of a new a/c unit. Don't get me wrong, there was no pressure to replace things just because, he gave me wise advice that will immediate provide cost savings on my gas and electric bill and is more cost effective in the short and long term. He gave me a quote for top quality Carrier brand a/c unit, gas furnace, and evaporator coil and explained everything that he would do for that price. He realized this was a big financial decision and recommended that since the weather was going to be nice bearable for the next couple of days to call a few other companies and get quotes so I would be comfortable if I decided to use him. I first called a trusted HVAC company in Texas that I've done a lot of business with on my rental properties and explained that I wanted their opinion on whether I needed all the things I was quoted for replaced and if so, whether it was a good price. They said that if I was truly getting what I told them that it was an exceptionally good price. They also told me to make sure the gas furnace I was quoted for would allow me to obtain the 16 SEER rating the a/c unit was suppose to get, and it was. I then called another local company that my father has trusted for many years with his rentals to have them come out and provide a quote. They told me that because it was their busy season, they would not be able to install anything for over 2 weeks (which was a deal breaker). They felt bad about that but were willing to discuss my situation and prices over the phone. I provided them with the details of the quote and they said it was an extremely aggressive low price and they could not match it. So after getting two other "quotes" and discussing the proposed work with other HVAC companies, I felt confident in going ahead with 777 Mechanical. After giving the go ahead, he scheduled a time to come out an install everything. His crew came on time and were very clean. At the end of the day, he told me that it took him a little longer than expected to install everything because the previous installation was not done properly and he fixed those things because they weren't up to code. He did that at no extra charge. Everything old was hauled away and the utility room was actually cleaner and in better shape than before. He took the time to explain the how the new thermostat he installed was different than the old one he replace and tips on operating it. He also explained that he was coordinating with the Fairfax County inspector to get them to approve of the final work. I am overall very impressed with Mr. Kim and his professionalism. I liked the fact that his quote was for a complete job and he did not nickel and dime me for every little thing that came up (and with a 50+ year old home, they do). I've used some of the other big name companies (whose have tv commercials and constantly advertise) in the past and really enjoyed using a local small business. I honestly am used to and willing to pay a little more to support a local small business but not at the sacrifice of quality or service; with Mr. Kim and 777 Mechanical, I was able to have my cake and eat it!! I have already raved about him to my family members and neighbors because he was that good.
Description of Work: I was having problems with my central air conditioning not blowing cold air. I read a great review of 777 Mechanical online and decided to give them a call to fix my problem. My air conditioning unit, gas furnace, evaporator coil and thermostat were all replaced.

It worked beautifully. He came promptly and was a wonderful business owner. I even thought I was having a problem and he was ready to come out immediatly. He would have made another free trip just to help me.
Description of Work: He was out almost immediately. Within a few days, at my convenience. He examined the unit carefully and determined the compressor was broken and I was using emergency heat. He talked to me about what he thought I needed and I purchased the new unit.
