Description of Work: I used Manny's Handyman Service for painting and fixing dry walls.

Description of Work: We met Manny in the doorway of the bank, wearing his jacket with his logo on it, and told him we had an immediate problem and if he did a good job on it we might have more work for him. He worked for us steadily for two years, and has continued to work for us sporadically as things come up. He landscaped the yard, fixed the sprinkler system the previous handyman did a bad job of installing, painted the inside and remodeled the house, did specific highly creative work, remodeled the bathroom and brought it up to code, brought the furnace up to code, brought the water heater up to code, and performed numerous unquantifiable pieces of work. In particular, he redid the kitchen and bathroom floors and kitchen counters and bathroom shower stall. He replaced vinyl with tile in a highly artistic design, and created cubbies at the foot of the bathtub to store soap etc. He has done plumbing and minor electrical work. There is very little that he can't and won't do. When we are stumped as to what to do about something, he always has a good suggestion.He has created things at our request, including a beautiful polished box with a design on it to hold my husband's soft drinks. He has built a grape vine support and a blackberry support. He hangs pictures on the walls, changes out light fixtures, fixes ceiling fans, and does just about everything.Whenever we have a problem in the house now we call Manny first, and only if it's totally outside his sphere and he says he can't do will we call someone else. We have several tasks waiting for him now when he finishes the job he is on. Beyond that, Manny is kind, friendly, and generous. We are proud to call him a friend as well as an employee. I must explain the lack of punctuality. Manny has gout, his wife has several health problems, and they are raising a preschool grandson. At times he is not able to be on time because he has to go to the doctor or take his wife or grandson. Also, he is not a morning person, and he normally works from about 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. But when he is working he is working HARD and it is safe to trust him with the door key. We find his lack of punctuality to be less important than the quality of his work and his creativity, and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.
