Description of Work: The electrician was wonderful and extended services to us to encourage us to get an extended package, when he came for the inspection the following week he threw in some free work while he was there...but when we needed a plumber to come and checkout a leaking toilet, he included the overall inspection of our plumbing, which was to be free, and tacked on 80.00 for coming and tightening some bolts of the upper toilet. The toilet stopped leaking, but he quoted a return price of 167 for installing a new one, making it sound like it really needed to be replaced. We went to Lowes to make the purchase, and found that they would install for 137.00 the next day. There was no question on who got the job. If all the Esco employees were like the electrician, then they would be getting a higher rating. Not too sure if I will be doing further work through them.

Description of Work: Quickly done, but not rushed work. Supervisor came along, but he was just there to sell me stuff, I'm sure. Very accommodating and friendly electrician who performed the work. Had a ceiling fan installed, light switch replaced, outlet fixed and new dimmer on kitchen chandelier. Would call them again for any problems that come up.

Description of Work: We purchased a special for two hours of electrical service. We couldn't be more pleased with the service we received. Cody arrived promptly and got right to work. He completed all the work we were hoping he could fit into the two hours. He was very professional and knowledgeable. We would definitely recommend Esco to anyone needing service.

Description of Work: Sold seasonal furnace tune-up discount on Angie's List in early November. Despite similar ongoing offers on Angie's List and other discount websites, when we called, the earliest they would actually schedule an appointment was in January. When our appointment finally arrived, the service rep was prompt, informative and thorough, and the scope of the service was as purported in the deal description (unlike the joke of an inspection/tune-up we had received when responding to another contractors junk mail coupon offer earlier in the season).

Description of Work: They replaced the outside hose faucet/handle. It ended up costing more than the pre-purchased coupon, but it was for valid reasons. They were very responsive in setting up the appointment (they had to reschedule once), and two men who came out were very professional, explained everything, dressed neatly, and were nice. I would use them again, and will to fix our other outside faucet.

Description of Work: The initial service went well, but the tech found that one of my burners on one of my furnaces needed to be cleaned. The charge for doing that would have been $95, which is outrageous anyway, had I purchased a service agreement. However, I did not purchase the service agreement, so the cost of the burner cleaning became $108. I resented the pressure to purchase a service agreement in order to save myself $13. When I didn't buy the agreement, he changed the amount on the bill. I think that, since I already had paid his company $78 for the service fee (they got two furnaces and two coupon purchases for one service call), plus the fact that the filters had just been changed, I should have gotten a discount for the additional burner cleaning beyond the $95. He was already at the house, cleaning the burner involved no equipment or parts, and not a lot of time. If they wanted me to purchase a service agreement, I would think they would have wanted me to be very happy. Penny wise, pound foolish. I checked the burner cleaning thing out with a friend who used to service my furnaces until he changed jobs, and he verified the service call price on the burner cleaning, but said in his opinion the whole thing was an overcharge.

In particular, the technician addressed our concerns about possible excess carbon monoxide. He was very knowledgeable and thorough. We hired him to do a small repair on the system while he was at our home, but he spent far more time with my husband and our heating systems than any amount we paid would seem to have warranted. We were very impressed with his thorough job, knowledge of systems, and willingness to explain his findings. We have taken his assessment and recommendations seriously.

He did a thorough job, came on time, and found nothing out of order - always a good sign when they don't try to add on extra services that may not be necessary.
